I finally watched A Holiday Spectacular from Hallmark. I really liked it! I thought it was a great period piece and loved the Rockettes! I’m still catching up & watching some of the Hallmark movies I’ve recorded in the next few days.

CBS Sunday Morning did a story about Hallmark holiday movies. They messed up and showed images from 3 Wise Men and a Baby when they were talked about the film with a gay romance but besides that mistake I thought it was a pretty good piece.

I have been too busy to sit and watch another movie, but I did find this article about a new movie for next year. If you live by the Biltmore House and hope to be an extra in a Hallmark movie, now is your chance!

I also want to recommend an older movie that's on frndly now called Christmas on my Mind. Andrew Walker is all I have to say about it really but it's cute. I watched it last year and watched it again tonight while working a puzzle. Watched that Snowed Inn Christmas with Andrew Walker that was recommended and it did not disappoint but I will have to say that if I was offered a suite with him I would not turn it down for separate rooms. No thank you. Happy to share. You watched all three of my Andrew Walker recommendations. Hehe, you're part of the fan club now! (Best. Kisser. On. Hallmark. Back me up here, joblackford!) Ok, so, full story: when BJL and Andrew Walker did Snowed Inn Christmas with Lifetime instead of Hallmark, Hallmark went after them to get them back. And they got them. The result? Bottled With Love. Both actors together again, another contentious work relationship and growing feelings. It's great and you should totally look for this faux sequel when the Hallmark Spring Into Love movies start streaming again... Did you see Andrew Walker in last year's My Christmas Family Tree? It's a very different holiday story and the romance is more in the background in this one but it's worth a watch, too.

I watched Klaus, very belatedly! today, and loved it. And then I watched The Noel Diary and found it quite enjoyable too. Attractive stars with chemistry, a beautiful dog, a joke about having to share a room if this was a romcom, and a beautiful snowy setting, all good things. All my other choices had subtitles which don't work well when I'm crocheting, and I refuse to listen to dubbed movies if I can avoid it.

I watched Spirited tonight with husband and (15yo) daughter. We liked it! I’m glad I hadn’t read all your guyses bummer reviews of it beforehand! 😂
Daughter and I love musicals, but husband does NOT, and he didn’t leave or say anything miserly except that the dudes don’t sing well. Daughter said it’s a winner to watch again next year. 💝

I watched "Love Hard" on Netflix - pretty cute! Me too! I enjoyed it. I also watched Christmas with a Prince on Netflix. Meh. I give them props for some representation (female doctor while her brother is a nurse, black female doctor chief of staff), but the acting was terrible and not much chemistry between the leads.

I watched Haul Out the Holly yesterday while I was working on my Dec album and enjoyed it. I liked that the romance really felt secondary to the movie, and the over-the-top decorating and Christmas cheer was exactly what I needed to keep me motivated for my album.

Today I watched A Boy Called Christmas on Netflix. It was wonderful! I mean, how can you go wrong with Maggie Smith narrating!

I watched Haul Out the Holly yesterday Can you explain to me the motivation behind her parents suddenly leaving town and taking down all of their decorations? Then the town making her put them back up?
I might have missed something but this was so confusing to me.
If they wanted her to move back, they could have just asked her. Why trick/guilt your only kid into a major life decision? And that dude from high school was not a good match for her. She's like a 9 and he's like a 5.7 at best. And the house? She can sell it, right? It's not like she has to live there. If my parents gave me their house I would be calling the realtor ASAP. I'm not moving back to that town.
I put the spoiler up because there might be one of you who actually will remember this before watching it next year. Not me. I'll probably watch it again totally forgetting that I saw it. Has anyone seen the meme floating around Insta: I fell asleep halfway into a Hallmark movie, then woke up halfway through another. It took me 30 minutes to notice. That is me. I'll start watching one and it will be a good hour before I realize I've already seen it. We went on a little trip post-Christmas and it was great. I don't have it in me to watch anymore holiday movies. BUT I still have HBO Max for 2 more months. I started the new Gossip Girl last night. Added the Secret Life (Sex life?) of College Girls and Girls to my watch list. Anything else? We seem like a TV watching bunch.

I took that to be a way of forcing interaction between the two leads. I agree the parents were pretty dodgy in this one, but it felt like the movie was more about finding Christmas spirit than a happily ever after, even though we obviously got that too.

I watched a couple on Netflix and Prime. I liked Something from Tiffany’s and About Fate. I wasn’t a fan of I believe in Santa. I also liked Storm for Christmas a Norwegian limited series. So many choices this year.

Sorry to dredge up the thread but I need help. I loved “it was always you” from 2021. Like watched it daily for a month and still watch it all the time.
Peas, it’s a lot to ask, but I need to know the “it was always you” of 2022 as I did not get to watch one single hallmark movie this year (I watched 90% of them all last year, which is no mean feat as I had to sail the seven seas to find them all)
Help a pea out 😉

I loved “it was always you” from 2021 I don't remember this one. Are you looking for a similar plot or the best movie of 2022? The best for me was A Hollywood Christmas on HBO Max. The top 3 Hallmark movies were: Ghosts of Christmas Always, A Holiday Spectacular (about the Rockettes), and The Holiday Sitter (first gay Hallmark leads)

DD is visiting. We wanted to watch a silly, cheesy Christmas movie. “Ghosts of Christmas Past” looked like it fit the criteria perfectly. It was a lot better than we expected, so we decided to buy it. It was only 99 cents.

I don’t think there was a 2022 equivalent. An older one I really like is birthday wish and I also really like summer villa but don’t think they are as good but I rewatch them.

Curious which elements you enjoyed specifically? I tend to like movies with specific actors and I like fake dating and friends to lovers tropes. I don’t know if there was a really great movie this year, or maybe I just haven’t warmed up to any enough yet.
