"3 Wise Men and a Baby" is so far our best holiday movie of the season, not counting "Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special" or "Wednesday". I'm pretty particular about my Christmas movies. I struggle through some but feel like a grinch for not enjoying them so I don't post here. Watched the "Guardians of the Galaxy" one...and...wow, did not hate it! I thought they did a great job of capturing the holiday, providing some catchy funny tunes, and poking fun at themselves like usual!

DH found "Something from Tiffany's" on Prime under "Kids", not holiday? Anyway, it was delightful. Full of carbs + NY at Christmas. It ranks up there for us this season! eta: somehow missed Booty's post about this before I posted. HAH! 2 Pea's recommend.

I can't even remember if I posted about this but A tale of Two Christmases was fine. You won't miss anything if you skip it. There was nothing wrong with it but it's not something I'd watch again.
Has anyone watched A Christmas Cookie Catastrophe? Based on the name alone it's a pass for me but if there's something good, let me know.
There has also been mixed reviews on A Big Fat Family Christmas on this board.
Anymore reviews? I need to watch the preview.
Can't wait for Christmas Class Reunion. That looks really good.

I love-love-LOVE the good ol' fake dating trope (as evidenced by my solo love for The Mistletoe Promise in this thread, ha) but I didn't even finish #XMAS. I went back to this movie probably 3 times? Didn't get to the end. Deleted the video file so I doubt I ever will. It's already gone from my mind. But I do have a goodie to share tonight: Prime Video's brand new Something From Tiffany's. The acting is great (so exciting to see Zoey Deutch lead this one), the setting is gorgeous (NYC Christmas vibes all around with quite a few street scenes), the love story itself unusual. Good representation as well. Great score. Oh, and bread, loads of bread. What more could a holiday rom-com fan want? This is definitely a sit-back-and-enjoy kind of movie. Recommended, obviously. [ This was quite excellent! Thank you for suggesting.

I feel like this has become my personal diary of what I've watched this year. Where is everyone?
I have to say that having a kid in high school is great for December. I've come home from work exhausted but she has dance or band almost every evening so I take that time to watch movies.
Thanks to the recs on this board I just watched the 12 dates of christmas and it was very good.
I watched a Fabled Holiday last night while working on DD. I liked it.

We watched “A Fabled Holiday” a few nights ago. I mainly wanted to see and hear Lindsey Stirling. Her part was far too short. The movie is not going to be a yearly favorite, but it was fun to watch once.
We enjoyed watching “Snow Bride,” but we enjoyed “A Perfect Christmas List” even more. We ended up buying that one. We also liked “Double Holiday” and “The Christmas Contract.”
Last night we watched “Naughty or Nice” and thought it was cute and fun.
If we really like a movie, we usually buy it, so we can watch it again in the coming years, too.
We don’t have access to all of the movies recommended in this thread, and I’m not sure if all the movies I’ve mentioned in this post are among the ones recommended. The ones we are able to watch are on Amazon, Netflix, and FriendlyTV (not sure if I spelled it right). We also have Disney+ but haven’t watched many Christmas movies on that channel, although we did see “The Santa Clauses” series, which we enjoyed. I liked how they included Befana (not sure I spelled her name right).
We have a huge movie collection, but this year we haven’t watched our usual favorites of the past (White Christmas, Holiday Inn, Miracle on 34th StreetHome Alone series,The Santa Clause movies, Arthur’s Christmas, and others that we still love but haven’t had time to watch). We’ve been too busy watching newer offerings.

I feel like this has become my personal diary of what I've watched this year. Where is everyone? I am really struggling with my Christmas mood. I just can't watch some of the usual holiday movies. We've started a few and then shut them off and watched the holiday versions of "Great British Bake Off". I think the most recent was "Dashing Home for Christmas" or something? A workaholic chick with brown hair misses her Uber because some blonde dude's suitcases were in the way. /boggle Then they share his ride to the airport and she's detained by TSA and then leaves her wallet there before boarding her flight. Both of them were irritating, so off it went after their flight was cancelled. The chemistry between Del Griffith and Neal Page was hotter than that trash. I've been having the same issue with my usual holiday reads. I finally got stuck in "Season of Love" by Helena Greer and am just about to finish it. Definitely recommend!

The last two weeks have been stressful over here, so I have not been able to watch many of the movies recently.
I did get to watch the new Lindsay Lohan movie while making page kits featuring swap pieces last night. It was ok. I kept hoping Chord Overstreet would break out into a Christmas solo, but alas, no such luck, ha.

Favorites from last year were Crashing through the snow, unexpected Christmas and five Star Christmas An oldie but goodie that can be watched on YouTube is a Christmas list with Mimi Rogers. It was a ABC Family movie from the 90’s. I just rewatched Christmas Chronicles the first one last night and it was good. I need to watch the second. We started the Santa Clauses and are enjoying it. Need to check out the Hollywood one to as we have HBO right now . I enjoyed the Holiday Sitter I was afraid it would be silly but was really cute. The reunion was much better than I expected to but not making it to my favorites as I get pickier and pickier as there are just so many movies these days.

Ok, I now have about a dozen ready to watch that have been the most recommended in this thread. I am so ready for all the big city girl returns home and falls in love with surprisingly hunky small town boy stories I can handle in the next 48 hours.

I've watched a few movies here and there, some new, some old. I streamed Northpole on Peacock, a 2014 one I haven't seen before. I like Bailee Madison and she made a good elf, and my nephew had the Northpole communicator toy that must've been a movie tie-in back when he was 5. I will include that story in my Christmas journal because he loved that thing and I have a silly photo of him with it.
I streamed the new one about the colorblind science teacher but found it a little hard to believe that he wouldn't just try the glasses. It was OK background for scrapping.
The class reunion one was fairly enjoyable. My husband had recently recognized the lead actress from when she was the coach's daughter on Friday Night Lights which surprised me. I didn't recognize her at all. I have watched her family tree movie from last year a couple of times.
I just rewatched the Ted Lasso Christmas episode which came out at an unseasonable time last year and loved it even more in the right season. It's a real gem.
Spirited was OK but maybe too long? I knew it was a musical and heard enough to temper my expectations, but what a cast! I enjoyed the music and dance, liked the ending much better than I would've expected, and it was a good background for crocheting my Yuletide blanket. We'll see if I end up liking it enough to watch it again. TBH I didn't care for Elf the first time I watched it, but now I love it.

I watched A Hollywood Christmas today and I have to say it was utterly delightful. I really enjoyed playing to its own genre and thought they did a good job interspersing the "real" story with the film one.

You guys, these damn movies have been getting me through this. If you're not following the DD thread, my mom has been in the hospital since Thursday morning.
I don't have the capacity for anything other than cheesy holiday movies.
I've mostly been watching what was recommended by you all.
So thank you.
I don't remember the names of most of what I watched but I'm keeping track.
I did like the cross country one. It was very good. Really cute. I remember that actress from her teen movie days.

I haven’t been following the DD thread. I am so sorry your mom is in the hospital, but I totally understand the movies are a helpful distraction. Two years ago, my DH had back surgery just before Christmas (the day after our 45th wedding anniversary). His blood pressure dropped dangerously low following the surgery, and he was transferred to another hospital on Christmas Day. I followed the ambulance from the one hospital to the other. I came home from the hospital to see that my kids had decorated the house and set up a tiny 3 foot Christmas tree. I cried to see the simple but beautiful decorations. It meant so much to me. It’s amazing what simple little things can get us through difficult times, especially when someone we love is in the hospital at a time everyone else seems to be celebrating. I don’t know the details, but I know this must be a challenging time for you. I sincerely hope your mom will recover, and quickly.

I just finished watching Hanukkah on Rye and thought it was really cute. I really liked the main two actors, as well as the grandmothers. Bring snacks for this one though, all the tasty looking food made me very hungry! 😁

Bring snacks for this one though, all the tasty looking food made me very hungry! 😁 I watched it last night too. I thought the title was terrible but the movie seemed to be much better than some of the other Hanukkah (it's just like Christmas!) movies they've done in the past. And I love Yael Grobglas (she was so good as Petra in Jane the Virgin, especially in later seasons). It was a pretty clever way to do the "you've got mail" storyline. I finally caught most of the ending of the bodyguard/singing star/fake dating/making tamales movie which was fairly enjoyable too. Nice to listen to, at least (I tend to crochet my way through most movies) and I liked the leading lady.

I watched half of A Storm for Christmas (the Norwegian Netflix show) and I'm enjoying it. 6 episodes, only about 30-40 minutes long each, so it's very bingeable.

I just finished the high school reunion one. It was ok, not my favorite. It was good for some background noise while I did some chores. I felt some of the characters they introduced were just unnecessary for the story, they were easily forgettable.
Up next, The Holiday Sitter. I started this one last week and was enjoying it, but life got in the way. I hope to finish it up tonight.

Watched Hanukkah on Rye tonight and ate latkes for dinner. Both: two thumbs up. Hallmark did the best they could with that one. My daughter is newly Jewish (long story but my mom's side of the family is Jewish and she only learned of it a couple of years ago and is super into it) so she really liked it.
I also want to recommend an older movie that's on frndly now called Christmas on my Mind. Andrew Walker is all I have to say about it really but it's cute. I watched it last year and watched it again tonight while working a puzzle.
Watched that Snowed Inn Christmas with Andrew Walker that was recommended and it did not disappoint but I will have to say that if I was offered a suite with him I would not turn it down for separate rooms. No thank you. Happy to share.
I'm not sure if I like that Kristoffer Polaha so I don't think I'll be able to watch Rocky Mountain Christmas that was recommended. The look on his face in the preview pic on frndly just says it all.
Anyway. Been watching TV. Not doing much else as I am done. Empty. Little left. Last day of work was today so hoping to fill the batteries tomorrow during the storm. It will drop from 34 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon.
My mom is finally home from the hospital. Went home today. She's doing well. They have her on oral antibiotics and will schedule a surgery in about a month. It's been exhausting in so many ways.
The peas have been so amazing I can't even get my head around it. Thank you all so much for all the kind words and everything else.
