Beautiful cards ladies! Pink lady I ageree with your synopsis. I don’t think pinkfresh will come back now that they have their own event but I wish the stamp market would.

MichyM, I find many of your cards very inspiring, especially the Gina K ones. Did you plan ahead the variations on the class cards? Or start crafting along and then pause before the assembly step to modify from the plan in the book? Is that the PinkFresh braided circle die in the one with the red flowers? I've had that product in shopping carts numerous times and not actually bought it, but it's gorgeous! I love what you did with Simon's desert flower and the way you added a different sentiment to the peach flower SB card. I had just about resigned myself to fighting with the tiny letters because I couldn't fit another sentiment in that tiny space, but putting a larger one on with dimensional adhesive on the right end and regular on the left is so obvious, now that I see it. I also find you very inspirational because when I first got back into crafting nine or so months ago and found this forum, I had SO MANY questions. I tried to anwer them by finding older threads with the information I was looking for. I can't tell you how many times the threads I found were starting by you asking the same question six months before me. So if I work hard and keep practicing, maybe I'll be able to produce results like that!

I agree with a lot of what you've said pinklady about the individual classes. And I agree about CZ. I really enjoyed the genuine personalities. To me, CZ feels like she's just trying too hard to be something she's not. She's the only one that I really don't feel like I jive with. But the fan-girling is something else, isn't it? I also don't get the love for Christopher Alan (he's just so long-winded), but maybe that's just me. I LOVE what you did with your third C+9th card. If I can find some sentiments in my stash like you used for the "address" part, I'm totally going to card-lift your idea Brilliant! Yesterday I did a run down of classes/projects I liked vs the ones I'll never touch (even after watching their class). And I will watch all the classes even if I don't do the projects to see if I glean any tips or tricks from them. Out of 16 full classes, I'll only actually make the projects in 10 of them. The other 6 are a waste for me. Of of those 10, probably only 6 of those get me excited. That's not a great ratio. Would love to see the manufacturers you suggested included. I'd like to see Mama Elephant included again. Would LOVE to see one of Ellen Hutson's designers do a class. And yes, SSS could knock it out of the park if they were included. However, don't they do their own events? I think some of the instructors need to up their video set-ups. I realize that this is a very laid back event and many of the designers are teaching out of their home, but they need to make more of an effort, and to check things out before going live. I hope SCT addresses this moving forward. There needs to be a basic level of quality control. My Lawn Fawn items have long since found another home, but looking at the adorable finished projects, I almost wish I had hung onto them. They would have been fun for "Cards for Cubs" if nothing else. Lastly, I agree with MDscrapaholic's and pinklady's thoughts on the JM video. As I watched it I was underwhelmed and thought it was just me. I attributed it to being 6 more months into the card-making hobby and just less able to be impressed. Now I see that it was just generally a let down.

So if I work hard and keep practicing, maybe I'll be able to produce results like that! Blush, thank you. With the GinaK cards, I got to the second one and just felt like the multiple rectangles were too harsh with the soft shape of the flowers and the stenciling, so I pivoted. I had just received that shaped die set a few days prior, and I'm into shaped cards these days, so I gave it a go. It's only paper When I finished stenciling the third card, it felt more tropical to me than Gina's example, so I skipped the black and went from there. Trimming off the end bits off the stenciled flowers made it fit the way I wanted it to on that card. And yes, that is the PF braided circles die - good eye! It's been fun watching your excitement about card-making. You're the first one on this board that has totally jumped in feet first since I did last spring! The women here have been so incredibly supportive, PATIENT, and helpful, I never would have kept at it were it not for them! Lastly, you asked a couple of days ago about selling product from C+C. I have no idea what is allowed, nor do I care. It is my product, I paid for it. Some of it I paid for over 6 months ago. I sold several C+C sets at less that half of what they'd cost retail a few weeks ago. Clearly I'm not selling them to make money. Doing to keep my craft supply stash under control. To some degree anyway Thanks so much for your kind words!

It was me, MichyM -- I've already received the nested dies and that stamp set. I WILL continue to resist the Glimmer.... EtA: WHERE did you sell your unwanted sets from the event? FB, eBay, here, someplace I can't imagine?

pinklady and MichyM thanks for both of your reviews! I skipped this one since I was doing the Pinkfresh event & the Expo was in my town. Depending on the companies featured I will likely do the Fall event. I also agree I would like to see some other companies on the next event and would love for Stamp Market to come back! I'd love to see Pretty Pink Posh - I really like their layering stencils and their cards on Instagram are always so cute!

I believe MichyM used it on her cards with his stamp and die on page 16 of the thread.

I am curious. How many of us did this most recent C+C? We have me, MDscrapaholic , Ryann , pinklady , Shakti , grammadee , marg , scrappinheather , cmpeter , floridagirl , gmcwife1 , tlc59 , GiantsFan , scrapbookmomof4 , Aheartfeltcard, lindamh which is 16 of us. Who did I miss? And who is tentatively planning on doing the fall one?

FB, eBay, here, someplace I can't imagine? I just put the word out ever so quietly here and they found homes. It's not worth the effort (to me) to "officially" list them for sale on random websites. This was my first time selling card making supplies. In the past I've either offered them as gifts here, or donated them locally.

I'm hoping we find a house we love as soon as we are ready to buy. I don't know how long we'll be living out of suitcases which could make doing a full scale event like this difficult. I also want to do the fall paper crafting event but will be heading to NYC immediately after so I'm tentative on that one, too. Here are the dates in case anyone else is looking for them:

I am so glad I swatched my Distress inks - I can't tell you how many times I reached for that ring of colors for this card event. I just spent an hour swatching the new colors I got just for this event.

I think I have done four of the C&C card events. I didn’t do the first one and I wouldn’t have known about it if it wasn’t for this board! I am planning o doing the fall event but it depends to a certain extent on which companies participate. I loved the addition of Altenew this year, but I really missed The Stamp Market. So, we’ll see but I hope to participate!

I've done the five card events. More than likely I'll sign up for the next one. I really get energized with the excitement. I'm not a fan of all the card styles but it's good to get out of my comfort zone every six months or so. Plus $20 or so per class including products is a really good deal.
I know a lot of people like The Stamp Market, but after the way people were hounding her during her class - while she was teaching! - I wouldn't be surprised if she's over it.
You all should send Catherine an email requesting who you'd like to see participate. I requested for Mama Elephant to come back and MFT to participate. And here was her response.
"As for companies to join the event, this is not as easy as it might seem for some companies. We tend to work with the companies that work with us and we have relationships with. Companies we know will be a good fit. Although I think Mama Elephant enjoyed the event when they participated last fall, I get the feeling it was overwhelming for them. We have not worked with MFT in many, many years but never say never. We are always developing new relationships and think we will have one new company joining us this fall!"

I realize that Catherine from SCT would only want to use advertisers so I know that won't happen, but hey, a girl can dream. I plan to sign up for the fall card making and scrapbooking events, I'm at the point where I'd have major FOMO if I missed them lol. Plus it really gives me something to look forward to in my boring life haha.

Forgot to comment regarding Simon Hurley's class - I loved it! I'm a fan of the stamping foam now. I didn't do his last year's class using it, but now I want to go back and do that, too.
There is a really beautiful flower stamp in his cactus stamp set. It's really versatile, imo. I did the bonus card where you just use the stamping foam on its thin side and press it into a scor-board for texture, and it was so cool - the card is gorgeous with the bright colours used. I highly recommend trying the bonus card if you're not sure about his class. And his sentiment stamps are great and I will use them a lot.

I've made several cards with the foam (could not get the hang of it at the last C+C) and his flower set and I like them a lot. Not so much a fan of how my cactus cards turned out. However, yesterday I ran across some cactus dies in my stash that I bought last year and never used. So I'll try them out with the scenery stencils and see if I can't end up with something I like!

Just watched Jennifer McGuire's Mix n Match video, and my fingers are itching to just grab some products and see what I can make with them.
But I have a question: how do you store the supplies that came in that C&C box? Right now I have them still in the class bags, but if I want to use, say, an oval die from one set and a stamp from another and a stencil from a third,...
Just wondering how you store these things so you remember where they are when you think of using them?

Just wondering how you store these things so you remember where they are when you think of using them? My plan is to keep them in their zipper bags in the collapsible tote thingy I got for them until I finish each class or decide I'm not going to. After that, I plan to put them in my "new products to try" bin. From there, after another use, they would go into my stash as if they were anything else. This means matching dies in the same package as stamps and things like that, but not grouped into the class/project bundles specifically. I did ponder the question and deliberately decide that being used in the class wasn't enough to get it moved from the "new" bin to the stash. But I don't think keeping them grouped into the class projects or the event overall makes sense to me or promotes using them in other ways. EtA: I meant to say somewhere in there that if the class products leave the temporary C&C bin because I decided NOT to finish the class, they probably go into either the "purgatory" bin or the "re-home" bin rather than the new stuff to try bin.
