Yes, but if you do the pre-work, as the September event thread recommends (through 6 of 15 pages), you won't have full sheets by the time you're starting the class, right? Actually, the local source where I'm thinking of getting them has some slightly larger than SSS's for a little less and 10 x 7 5/8 for even less, plus some other types of box folders and porfolio types of things. I have a couple of other things to get there today and a one-time 15% off total purchase coupon that expires at the end of March. Maybe I'll get a goodly assortment and return what I decide is excess or doesn't work or whatever. They're 10 minutes from my job, so very convenient.

Shakti so happy you are joining the fun! A few ideas to keep in mind * do your home work!-this will make it easy to follow the class, what it could be fast moving. * organize by class- I use small cookie sheets from the dollar 🌳- its perfect to line up the ink pads stamps and if you use a magnetic sheet , your dies on it. I did buy these a.co/d/hk4tTXV to organize some classes in them , but I really prefer the cookie sheets. And they stack perfectly after the event and takes up little place. *classes will be on YouTube so create a folder for them to save them in this will makes finding them easier afterwards. *take time to figure out ink colors if you are not using the exact ones they recommend, at my first event I thought I can figure them out on the way..it was super stressful. In the instruction booklet there is room to take notes, I always write down the ink colors I used ... helps with the next events color finding too. I don't stress out to perfectly match I just go with like colors. * and the most important thing is to have fun and if you feel overwhelmed just sit back and enjoy watching the classes...sometimes there is a little side drama going on 🤣😂 The videos will be there forever. I'm working on Friday so I will watch those at a later time. This time around we will have 5 classes per day instead the 4. My plan to follow along with the first 4 and if I'm tired just watch the 5 one. I need to see what we are making to make that decision.

I do like using mesh bags or the like to organize projects in general, so I wouldn't mind getting a few more -- but 15 identical 10 x 12 or so seemed very much like overkill. Yes, it is my first. I'll go look for them. Thank you! Amazon had a pack of 32 that came to less than .50 each last summer. I gave just under half of them to a crafting friend. I use them for organizing classes (and also my own projects in process).

If the die cutting is one of the things that can/should be done ahead, why do you need to have the dies out on that day? I did find sets of five mesh bags, so I'll get a set of letter and a set of "accessory"? I may or may not be able to empty the two or three I already own by (or for) that weekend. I thought everything was on Facebook? But the videos are on YouTube? Make a folder on my computer to download them to? Or make a folder within YouTube? For the latter, I'd probably need a Google ID. And really, I've capitulated (a little) by joining Facebook, but Google?! No thanks. I did get the WRMK project cart for my birthday, so I could empty that and use those trays. Sounds like Job One between now and when the box arrives is finish or table (and stash away) as much WiP as possible! And STOP SHOPPING -- except for organization-type stuff

Shakti last time in a class we watercolored the images than cut them out. Its a good way to have them ready to go and to safely keep them in place until you have time to properly put them away. I do this with projects I work on too. It helps me stay somewhat organized and not looking for missing piece for days or even weeks 🤣

I think I'll get a magnetic tool bowl. And, as a person who LOVES to color, I do know that it's easier to do so before cutting, so I get that.
I think this means I am going to continue to ignore the 28 4 28 challeges, only deliberately now, rather than just due to generally being overwhelmed by them.

AND the Cards for Cubs drive ends after this event, so as long as anything too cute for me can be made as a birthday or encouragement card, I know what I can do with them.
Maybe I'm a weirdo (well, ok, no maybe about it), but my first thought looking at the last event thread and seeing people focusing on doing the cards they liked the most and maybe around getting to the others, I'm thinking I'd be better off trying to keep up live with the ones I care about least and taking more time later with the ones I like best.
Because, yeah, why would you get too fussed about one you already knew you'd donate?

Because, yeah, why would you get too fussed about one you already knew you'd donate? That makes sense, since it's your first event and you're getting a feel for it, too. The other good thing about your approach is that you'll be more motivated to go back later and actually finish the cards because they're the ones you really like, rather than never getting around to doing them because you're not inspired. I do the cards I like best because I'm excited and in the mood to do those, and then will often skip the classes for the cards I don't really like so that I can have some family time on the weekend, too. I'll go back to those classes later and change the card to suit my style or the occasion I have in mind, nothing major but just to make it something that works for me better.

I use large Ziploc bags to keep everything together. When the box first arrives, I check the book, and then start separating and organizing everything. Catherine is VERY GOOD at packing - and she does tell you, during the unboxing, if something is not bundled with everything else. Last fall, one class had vellum, and she told us exactly where it was - with the other papers, not with the class supplies.
I sort everything out, add my inks and whatever else needed to the bag, and then seal it closed so I don't lose anything. I write on the front with sharpie - Cathy Z, Sunday morning, 9 AM - and then put all the bags in a standup box in order of the classes. When I do the homework I grab a bag, I do whatever I need to do, and then pack it all back in the bag. I do put diecut pieces in smaller bags, along with a ready-to-go card base, for each card. I try to do as much prep as I can.
Once the event is over, I put each class in a separate 7x10 inch zipper bag - usually by then it's just the dies, stamps, leftover dots, any PDFs for the card. I keep them all together in a bin, along with the book and anything that won't fit in the bags.
I'm ready to get started! I hope boxes start shipping soon!

Cute.
Love the shaker cup cake, is that a shaped card?
The cat looks like a fabric or felt sticker. Or can we stamp and color felt?
I'm looking forward to find out what it is. I love to guess and than see if I was right or very very wrong 🙃

I used large zip lock bags. Put everything I needed for the class in each bag. All the homework went in too. If I had tiny die cuts I put them in a small envelope so I didn't lose anything.

I have been saving packaging materials. I think J McGuire talks about reusing the acetate for windows and the like, so I have all of that and any zip top bags in a box. A second box has all the sticky-flap bags. Sounds like my hoarderism will come in handy!

Progress:
*Got a set each of 5 10x7.5 and 3 14x11 pouches, also a couple plastic drawer organizers (similar to those J McGuire uses to organize parts and pieces) on clearance *Emptied my SSS pouch (in between the 2 sizes above) and a bigger one *Cleared 3 of the 6 trays on the project cart *Moved 2 more Club Scrap "pizza" boxes of not-started kits to the closet *Packed some for-charity/use-up-old stuff projects into labeled Altenew mailers and put them in the closet
I think there are 2 or 3 projects remaining that I should be able to finish given that I have a three-day weekend.
Also made sure that as I stuffed things into the closet, things like the extra adhesive and all those bags to reuse remained accessible.

Wondering if I should pick up some photo boxes like THESE for keeping the cut pieces in. I don't think you need those for C&C. Unless you plan to reuse them after the event for something else. I have little bags that are the size of an A2 card. I just do my prep, and then put the diecuts plus the card base into one of these. I make one for each card in the class. I keep all of them and the other supplies in the big Ziploc baggie. It works for me!

For most classes, I think the photo boxes will be overkill. You won’t be cutting that many pieces. You can use an envelope or sandwich size ziplock.

Wondering if I should pick up some photo boxes like THESE for keeping the cut pieces in. I'm not sure you would be happy with those. I say just use large gallon sized zip top style bags. You'll need to fit cardstock stamp/die/stencils in it. And as mentioned up thread, some of the sets are large 6x8 sets.

You know how they say doctors make the worst patients? Well this teacher is the worst student. Will I do the prep work? Or rush into the room at the last minute with almost all the tools I need? Finish my homework? Or set it all aside when something else catches my eye?
Maybe a little bit of both. I do have a stadium for setting up the class kits. I have one little photo box I have used in the past to keep tiny diecuts when making Christmas cards. I also have a couple of divided trays I may be able to use to spread the parts of a project out. I have found these handy to work on projects at crops and for holiday card making binges.

Looking through the extra supplies needed, I am so happy to say that I am good, other than alcohol ink markers called for in 4 or so classes. Oh and I don't have a 2 3/4 scalloped circle die, but NBD. That said, I don't alcohol ink, nor do I want to start down that road...yet (they are so costly) - so I'm hopeful colored pencils, inks, or watercolors will suffice for those classes. I do wish that they would include the markers in class supplies. I'd imagine that quite a few attendees don't have any either. I'm going to try not to shop just because there are discounts. Wish me luck! I've made no card-making purchases so far this year, other than succumbing to a full set of the PF re-inkers (I have all the cubes) for PF's event next week. Who else is getting excited (other than MDscrapaholic of course - )?!?

I don't even know what this " Dr. Ph Martin’s Bleed Proof White (for splatter)" means.
I wonder if there are any internet resources to show how different marker brands compare colors/color designations.

Regarding the markers, one or more of the participants will likely post comparisons of the different marker brand's colors on the FB page. I bet they start getting posted later today, or tomorrow.

I’m sure if you have the Copic opaque white or any white acrylic paint that will work for splatters. I’m excited for the event. The only purchases I made are 2 Gina k inks I don’t have and 2 distress mini cubes I don’t have fur the spellbinders class. I am going to use the coupon code for the hero arts stamp along and supplies when I can use it in march.

Would Unicorn White (pigment) reinker work? Thanks, I'll watch the FB page! No idea about your re-inker. Put some of the re-inker on a non-porous surface and dip a paint brush into it and splatter it over some ink and/or marker, and play around. If you like the result, you're golden!

Follow-on quesion: if you use pigment ink on a paintbrush, is it now ruined for all other inks/paints? You can rinse it out, but just incase it does, use something cheap. You can even use an old tooth brush for splattering.
