Shakti - here's the videoI just got a shipping notice today for the kit. I hope I like it. I also ordered a stamp set to go with it, the Background Texture Strips. It'll be here on Monday!

Aha — I was somehow thinking it would be titled something about MMH, but of course that’s not how JM rolls. The more I look at the whole release, the more I realize that it’s the Milkweed and Monarchs that is most my style. I’m really intrigued by the window die though, so I’ll definitely watch and see what she does with that. I have another of their window dies, a bit smaller, from that warehouse sale bundle I bought a while back. It would be ideal to find inspiration for using that instead

I've only watched through the first card. My thought on that is, well, I'm already planning to order HA Infinity Rectangle dies (see SB.com thread in GS&P if you're curious). If I got the ovals too, I could make a card that looks like that with the butterfly stamps and frame cuts that were in my Joann HA February kit.
So, still inspired to shop, but for more a basic/versatile thing.

Thank you for posting the link to the video, MDscrapaholic . I wanted to see the video and more info, too, but didn’t know where to look. It’s a lovely kit, but probably not one that I would actually use. I do look forward to seeing the cards of those who get it, though.

I am in many ways the anti-Jennifer McGuire -- I LOVE to color! For that reason, those rub-ons did nothing for me. I also didn't realize before seeing the video that while those texture/detail butterfly dies are only available in the premium kit, you can get the frame cuts with another butterfly outline stamp set. Which I probably don't need, having the (smaller) butterfly outline stamp set with frame cuts from the Joann kit.

I know I can cut a rectangle with my paper trimmer, but I like that the dies give a "finished" edge. I have lots of stitched rectangle dies, but I usually grab the HA ones.

I have a SU set with stitched squares and circles, and I'm just not sure how I feel about stitching. I need a frame for a card project, and that you CAN'T do easily with a paper trimmer.
I was debating between OfficeSupply.com and HeroArts.com to get those. Ended up watching HA's video with the MMH kit and caved. Got those two things and that background strip stamp set for free shipping. I see Jennifer M use those text-type backgrounds so often and in so many different ways. I'm looking forward to experimenting.
I should start my own "pizza oven" thread because I am so very far out of the freezer!

Well, I've come to realize I am not a card designer. I need someone to show me how to use the stamps and dies. That's why I like the Crop & Create events so much. Here's my first attempt using the Feb. kit. I was surprised there were no butterfly stamps included. The dies are thicker than usual and my BigShot struggled to get them to go through. They pretty much shredded the white cardstock I used. I think I'm going to cancel and not get anymore of these kits.

I love your card MDscrapaholic. Love the color ink you used. Can you have less pressure in your big shot?

I also like your design choices! I don’t think having difficulty using the new dies in the kit reflects at all on your artistic talent.
I do think it’s unusual for HA kit to be (image) stamp-free, but I’ve seen it once before with one of the Joann ones. That variability is why I’d rather pay a couple bucks more and risk missing a faster-than-usual sellout than subscribe.
I have been fortunate to never have needed to fiddle with my die cut machine sandwich, but I know that can happen too.

I love your card MDscrapaholic . Love the color ink you used. Can you have less pressure in your big shot? There's no way to adjust the pressure, but I can change out the plates. I'll have to try using regular plates instead of the magnetic one I use for the metal dies. I just went in and canceled my subscription. I think I'll stick with the C&C events for card supplies. I have Hero Arts kits that I've never used from 2017/2018. pinklady, did you get your kit yet?

MDscrapaholic I just got my kit yesterday. I'm going to play with the dies this weekend and I'll let you know how they work in my Platinum 6. I really like the rub ons. They are very vibrant colors but I like that they don't have a glossy shine to them. If there's a code during C&C, I'll probably order the stamp set that coordinates with the outline dies.

azcrafty , the sandwich was the usual, the magnetic platform on the bottom and two clear plates with the cardstock/die in the middle. I'm going to try again tonight. See what happens. I have new plates, maybe I should switch to those, or use the Magic Mat. We will see!

I had some time tonight to play with this kit again. After watching a few videos, I tried the big die for the first time and used the stencils.

Did anybody else bite on either of this month's kits? When I did the spring stamp-along, they used a wisteria heroscapes set. I liked the idea of them, but couldn't find a set I liked at all. This beach one really grabbed me. I dithered for a bit over premium vs classic, but the embellishments sucked me in. Probably decided and ordered in the nick of time as the premium sold out on day one.

I know they brought it out to buy the pieces separately, but it was so much more expensive that way.

I do not need the August premium kit. I really don't need any kit. And I could take or leave the cacti transfers. But I love the poppies and I'm envisioning all kinds of fun things combining these with the C&9th camper set....

I got the classic. There are a few extras what I will purchase at a later time. I'm always looking for good masculine card making products.

I did get the premium. I tried to convince myself that the C&9 field primroses I got recently could pretend to be poppies, but it's really not true. I tend to color my outline stamps from actual photographs of the plant, so it's obvious. And if it's a whole second stamp & die you want, the bump in price is reasonable, even considering the transfers and spray "extra". I am especially thinking about how these masculine background dies blend with other sets. And compared to the similarly themed kits from PP and Club Scrap recently, this is the best set of sentiments.

The August kit is really tempting. I hope it sells out quickly so I don't have to think about it any more.

Yeah, that would go so well with the ferns and mushrooms fancy die set I got over the winter. The cute anthropomorphized critters don't do it for me, so in the best of all MY worlds, they'd by part of the premium, but I doubt I'll be so lucky....

When you look it the pictures on the right top there is a gold emblem for the premium kit. The little critters are part of the premium kit. I love the mushroom frame I might have to get it.
