I already have plans to combine the water, branches, and cherry blossoms with this kit with the koi from the Altenew mindfulness retreat!! I think it's odd how often I find ways to combine products from these two companies, but I think it reinforces my love of both....

The cherry blossoms are very similar to the ones in the bumblebee kit that they brought back as regular store products, so if anyone has that they might find it useful to combine. Or you might prefer just to have the bee version, as I did.

April seems folksy, if you will, which never works for me. Also florals and butterflies, both of which I have overabundances!

This is exactly why I'm keeping an open mind about the kit. I'm really bummed she has not been doing videos on the MMH kits and instead seems to be doing videos on the Gina K kits.

Jennifer McGuire really, really likes that folk/folklore look and even she can't tempt me into it.
She just did a video with a bunch of older MMH kits -- that's the one where she said she was looking forward to April's.

I like folklore designs. The classic looks interesting. Stencil set and a coordinating cover die, plus some extra dies to cut out the butterflies and some leaves and flowers. I like peekaboo style cover dies , I hope this one is like that.

I love some Scandi folk art but I took a look and this one isn't my style. Mark me safe! I always watch Scott from Card Cutups use the kit and although he makes some nice things they just confirm that I don't need any of it.

Even Jennifer McGuire could not sell me on this months kit. * snort* I was just coming on here to post the same thing. Not that her cards (or any of the others) are not done well. Just not useful for me. I kinda hate it for the designers, because the colors in the kit are not pleasing together and are too loud for that stencil set, IMHO.

Even Jennifer McGuire could not sell me on this months kit. Okay, you made me laugh. And you made me go look. I agree. I love Spellbinders overall, but I don’t love everything they offer.

Well, there's pink and butterflies, so right there the colors aren't pleasing to me!

Other than the inks, I love this kit. Just the classic one though. I don't much care for the premium add-ons. I really don't need anything though. I already have so much stuff.

Another NEWP for May for me. I have plenty of HA balloons and birthday things from other kits (mostly the Joann ones) and more of the broken up giant words!

The sneaks sure look identical to the Yay Birthday Bundle we got at Crop & Create in September 2022.

Interesting, they are calling the previously released stamps & dies in the kits a "Special 50th Anniversary Gift".

Now that HA is completely rebranding and reimagining their monthly subscriptions, should I start a new thread? Maybe on the 15th when we start getting sneak peeks, but for now discuss here? link

I think I was always just as likely to buy the Joann/HA kit as the MMH one in any given month. Only once did I buy both. Most of my HA background cling stamps came from the Joann kits; I'm not sure I've seen one in a MMH. Of course, Joann doesave monthly kits anymore.
I'll be curious to see if each month's subscriptions are similarly themed, the way Spellbinders' are, and how similar the cardmaking kit is to the current MMH offerings.
Just read the FAQ. The card kit is considered equivalent to the current MMH premium. You can skip a month or change the details of the subscription on a dashboard (though it doesn't address how often you can do so). And if you decide to skip after the first (when you're charged as a subscriber) and the first Thursday or Friday when kits ship, you can email them and they'll try to accommodate you, cancel the shipment, and apply the charge to the following month.
All in all, they seem pretty transparent, flexible, and fair. Two weeks of sneak peeks! and it seems like it's possible to adjust either way after the full reveal if you got it wrong with the sneaks (order without subscribing or late skip if you're subscribed and change your mind).

Now that HA is completely rebranding and reimagining their monthly subscriptions, should I start a new thread? Maybe on the 15th when we start getting sneak peeks, but for now discuss here? linkIt looks like they've taken notes from Spellbinders many clubs or whatever they call them. My eyes glaze over and I click away when companies start offering multiple levels/styles of offerings and a "buy it all" sub - that's just a lot for me to process, a lot of decisions, fomo, and potential to waste a lot of money... but for normal people who aren't so easily overwhelmed (or deal with it by buying it all happily) I imagine this will give people more options, and hopefully breathe some new life into their subscriptions. I'll be interested to see how Scott (YT: Card CutUps) changes up what he's doing with the subs. He's a part time, very small space crafter, and I doubt that he'll be getting all the things, but idk. Currently he does 10 card designs with each kit, 5 using only the basic sub and 5 more including the premium elements. I wasn't not sure if their sales had dropped off or if they were ordering more (since so few kits had sold out lately, except the folk art butterflies) but this suggests they're losing ground.

It does suggest that, which makes me sad. They really are one of my favorites. But I feel like that puts me very much in a minority, so I get it!
