This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page/project when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

The end of January kind of crept up on me. The month started out slowly and suddenly got busy near the end.
I look forward to 28-4-28 this month. I hope you will all play along. Some of our Pokeys are the hostesses and they always have great ideas!

Thank you for setting up the new month nylene. I'm excited for 28-4-28 also - but I need to get moving on my hosted challenges. Dh ended up at the ER yesterday with really high blood pressure - he's on new meds now and is off work the rest of the week and sees his doctor tomorrow. Hopefully it comes back down to a better level soon.

Oh no, Linda! I hope the new meds help him and that staying at home from work he will actually rest and not just fret. I have done just the one sample page for 28-4-28 so far. Also need to do a sample for this month's Donna challenge. I have lots of things I COULD be scrapping, but somehow I am on a holding pattern waiting for the "perfect" little extra for my F page to be picked up from the post office &/or for the next 28-4-28 challenge to drop. Think it's time for me to step away from the scraproom for awhile LOL. Thanks for the February Pokey thread, nylene. I love this place.

Good luck to you Linda taking care of a sick DH! I hope the pcp gets him stabilized quickly. Scary! I too only have 1 example for my 28-4-28 challenges done, but a 2nd is in production right now. I've noticed that I'm a VERY heavy "shape" scrapper, so I am finding lots of old examples in my old layouts too...if I get stumped one week, I have backup nylene - this thread *totally* caught me off guard. February??? We're over 1/12 of the way until next Christmas? Ugh. My gloomy news is my pup: Scout, the feature of a recent layout complete with Tim Holtz stamp lookalike. The vet says she won't be lasting the week. We have a house-call vet on speed dial for when she goes downhill. She's full of suspected cancer and her chest and abdomen are so full of fluid her breathing is rapid and shallow. Other than spending thousands of dollars for "cancer chasing" as the vet called it, there are no options. We could drain her chest and abdomen for 2-$3000, but it would probably refill within days. She's 12 1/2, and we couldn't imagine making her suffer like that for her final days. So we're giving her lots of love and treats, and today she seems stable. It broke our hearts because it came on so suddenly and she's been such a super doggo.

((((HUGS)))) kitbop to you, your family, and Scout. I agree that it is so much more humane to let him/help him to go peacefully now, rather than all the pain and confusion of medical intervention that may not work anyway. But oh so hard to say goodbye.

Linda, I am so sorry to hear that your DH is not doing so well. I hope the new meds will bring the BP down and that rest and relaxation will help too. Hugs for both of you. kitbop, my heart is so sad for you. That photo and page about Scout was so precious. I hope that he won't have to suffer long and can have a peace going. Hugs to you and family. It's so hard to lose a family member. kellyr21, thanks for the love on my cards and layouts. I look forward to seeing some of the art you are doing. I have taken some of the Scrapbook dot com classes. Cindy got me going on my Silhouette and then a free class at that site helped me with some of the more difficult techniques. I have taken a couple of stamping classes, but I'm still not a very good stamper. Which ones are you taking? grammadee, thanks to you and your team getting the 28-4-28 started. I have worked on a layout today but it doesn't fit the first challenge. Maybe before I finish it a challenge will pop up so I can use it to finish the page. I hope your plans all work out and we have a great February scrappy month. We really appreciate all you do here. It was 13 degrees when we had to go out for a pre-op appt. this am. It was a beautifully clear day, just very cold. I took some photos of the mountains in my backyard. We really have some lovely mountains around us and they are especially gorgeous covered with snow. I will print them and scrap them this month.

Good morning, Pokeys. I am off to get my hair cut today, and while I am in town I will get groceries and do some other errands. So no crafting for me today. Yesterday I spent a few hours sorting through my WAY-T00-MANY stamp sets. And this was mostly my CTMH sets; not including all the stamp/die sets that have accumulated around here... I have them grouped and labeled and stored back in their cupboard, but I really need to make myself a challenge to STAMP ON EVERYTHING!!!! If there is a crop this upcoming weekend, I will try to join in. I bit the bullet and set up a fb account just to participate in Crop & Create events this spring. To do that, I created a new gmail adress. My other Google account seems to be through my email provider and doesn't give me the authority to start crops. Maybe this one will. Maybe if you have time this weekend, justjac, we can try it out? Thinking of Skout, kitbop and the rest of you. Again, (((((HUGS))))). When is your dh's surgery, nylene? Coming up soon if he had a pre op yesterday. (((((HUGS))))) to you two, also. How is your dh doing today, Linda?

Linda, how is your DH doing today? Have the new meds helped? You are both in my prayers. I hope he can get regulated quickly and get back into the swing of life. Hugs! grammadee, your stamps sound so much more organized than mine. I find that I don't stamp well or I don't always like the results. I have better luck cutting out a little image on my Silhouette than stamping and coloring. Have a great day out and about. You'll feel like a new woman when your hair is cut. Our pre-op visit was early because we still have to see the MOHS surgeon for a pre-op also. The surgery is scheduled for the 22nd so we still have some time. I hope the weather warms up a bit by then. It has been so very cold and makes me not want to leave the house.

dh is relaxing - blood pressure is still higher than desired but is coming down. He sees his doctor this afternoon. nylene - hope it warms up a bit for you. I tried making a nice layered title with my Cricut today - I need more practise because it took multiple tries, way too much cardstock and still didn't come out the way I had hoped. You and gramma always cut such lovely professional looking titles. grammadee - great job organising - I need a stamp all the things challenge also - I could use the practise there also. Back to my scrap table. Trying to make a good dent in my last photo order before this week's arrives tomorrow (early - it was scheduled for late next week)

Linda, I don't remember how to do the offset on the Cricut, in fact I think I didn't have that option on my old machine. gramma taught me to use the offset and just offset .50 and .70 for 2 shadows. I know I had tried to just increase the size of the title by pulling the corners, but that doesn't give a good shadow. gramma is the wizard and I'm sure she could help. Glad DH is doing better.

grammadee, I have a 28-4-28 question. Do we need to use your sample as a sketch, or just do the 1,2,3, challenge with handwriting? I can't remember if we are to use the example as our design.

Thanks nylene - I'll have a hunt for that and see if I can get it to work on the next title. On the 28-4-28 - you don't have to use the example as your design unless someone posts a sketch/scraplift challenge

And I indeed have an older Cricut (Expression with SCAL2) - I would love to upgrade to a Silhouette...it's just hard to justify that expense when the Cricut still works and I don't even use it to its full potential. One day... thanks

Hi pokeys! Scout is unchanged. Very quiet, enjoying a lot of treats, breathing is shallow and hard. But she seems comfortable enough so we're taking it day by day. DH and I are having a hard time deciding on home euthenasia or at the vet clinic. He wants home so she'll be as comfortable as possible at the end. Understood. But Scout has always enjoyed a trip to the vet! And I think doing it at home will cause me distress - a permanent memory of it in a spot I have to see every day. I'm also not sure how I will let them leave with her little body...I could leave her BEHIND at the vet, but will have a hard time letting them TAKE her away. DH and I are very much on opposite sides here and I'm not sure how we can figure out a solution because there are only the 2 options. A bit of a costco photo update. #1 - discovered that the first order, where I complained that the 5x7s were too yellow... when I compared prints side by side, they were the same as their 4x6 counterparts so I realized it was just my eyes and my own photos. The prints were accurate #2 - got my 2nd order today (wow, quick!). I ordered matte finish. All the 4x6s came matte. But 3/4 of the 5x7s (not all of them, weirdly!) are GLOSSY! So I just got off the phone with customer service. They are reprinting them for me. AND gave me a refund for the 5x7s! Costco really does give good CS! So now just waiting on the last order of another 500 prints.

Happy Thursday! Waving hello peas! nylene - Oh boy it is cold where you are! I know those mountains look beautiful. I was looking north at our mountains and they are full of snow. I wish I could see them up close. I was looking at the Dyan Reaveley and Heidi Swapp classes on Scrapbook dot com. I might take a few of the scrapbook classes to give me some more inspiration. Also, I have still been taking my drawing class on Thursday nights. Maybe I will share a few of my sketches with you all. Love this class. grammadee and kitbop - Your sample sketches for the 28-4-28 look great. Thanks for doing these special events to help us scrap and have fun. linda - Waving hi and hope you all are having a nice evening. joyfulnana - Waving hi to you and Abby!

Hello Pokeys. I took a whole day to play with paper. Well I did some searching and finding and reorganizing and... But I managed to finish three two page LO's--one for kitbop 's 28-4-28 challenge, and the samples for two challenges I need to post in the next couple of weeks. Can't share those, yet, but I did share the one LO in both Day ONE and the Donna challenge. Hoping you all had a good day, and that you have a wonderful weekend. I managed to start a Meet, invite and accept {myself}, so I am hoping to set one up for PEAS next Wednesday morning, the 8th. I will set up a thread on the GS board when it is nearer that time, but thought maybe nylene and Linda and cycworker and kellyr21 can have a chance to think about joining me. Okay, need to wash the ink off my hands and fix something for supper...

grammadee, I think Wed. will work for me also. I'm penciling it in my calendar and hope nothing interferes. Thanks for getting it going. Hello, cycworker, nice to see you popping in. Hope you can join online. kellyr21, I will look at those classes you mentioned. I watched the first lesson of Shimelle's class tonight. I need to remember to check out those classes more often. I would love to see what you have been sketching. Linda, how did the Dr. visit go today. I hope DH is doing better and feeling better. I spent most of the day today with Em. We ran errands and then she came back to the house and we just visited for a couple of hours. We have to do the Valentine's party at the school so we worked on ideas for that. I don't feel that I accomplished much today, but had such a great day with her.

Hello cycworker - nice to 'see' you again nylene - he's released to return to work on Monday, the new meds seem to be working and his blood pressure is much improved. Thanks for asking. Sounds like fun day with Em - some days you don't need to accomplish, just spending time with our loved ones is more than enough.

Hi Pokey's! This month is flying by already lol. kitbop hugs - man, you and your family need a break. I hope Scout goes peacefully. Things are slowly picking up at work - yay? I know we need the industry to keep thriving, but I'm over that crush we were under during the height of the pandemic, so I'm not too excited that things are picking up lol. Between more work, and some busy weeknights, I have not touched anything. But I'm hopping over to check out the 28-4-28 challenges and plan some things for tomorrow's crop. DS2 is one year clean yesterday. Today we went to an AA meeting and listened to his GF speak, then to lunch at a new to me BBQ place that was so good. It was nice hanging out with them all. nylene I hope me and grammadee and gramma stay friends after this season too! LOL! I've had to apologize to everyone in my life for my football brain this week lol. It's ok to just have an easy, fun non-productive day grammadee I hope the crop works out for you. If I didn't work I would be there during the day for sure. Only a few more years lol. Linda that's scary, I'm glad your DH is doing well and released to go back to work. Did they find a cause? I had an expression until recently, some of the cartridges have the shadow feature, but the machine itself does not. hi kellyr21! Are you settled into your apartment again? I would love to see your sketches. Thanks for the reminder about sb.com. I always forget they have lots of free classes. Alright, I need to check out the challenges and see what I can work on tomorrow

(((Hugs))) kitbop - thinking of you, your family, and Scout joyfulnana - congratulations to your DS - that's an excellent accomplishment. I asked about a cause and dh said the doctor told him sometimes it just happens. He is diabetic (as am I) but was already on high blood meds... I guess they just weren't enough anymore? As for the Expression...here's where I confess I don't know HOW to use the cartridges...I've only ever used it with SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot software)
