As for the Expression...here's where I confess I don't know HOW to use the cartridges...I've only ever used it with SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot software) Do you have cartridges? Do the original cartridges work with the expression? I ask because I have probably 15 I could send you if you could use them! I too LOVED my SCAL.

kitbop - I have 3 cartridges that I got when I bought it. I really ought to take the time to figure out how to use them -there's probably a video on YouTube I can watch, right.

Are there booklets or image cards with your cartridges? I haven't used my Cricut for a long time, but I never did use SCAL, just cartridges. I seem to remember scrolling through the images from the cartridge on that tiny screen to find the right one, but I used those cards to orient me. Or you can search the cartridge name with the word Cricut you will find all the image layers, and that would make it easier to figure out which ones to use.

Are there booklets or image cards with your cartridges Mine all have full booklets that I used for images. It was kinda nice and simple. Dial up/down a size.

Are there booklets or image cards with your cartridges? Yes - tucked in the drawer with the cartridges. I think I have a new challenge to set for myself.

kellyr21, Thanks for sharing about the free classes! There is a nice selection. kitbop, I am sorry to hear that your furbaby is ill. I have been trying to get laundry, grocery shopping plus meal prepping done today. I at least got laundry and grocery shopping done. I now need to prepare my meals for the week. Tomorrow I have Urban Sketchers in the morning and then have mandatory education to attend for work. I am just trying to get ahead of the game since I will be busy all day on Monday. I am not looking forward to this education but it is something we have to do every year. I sent off earlier this week to have my passport renewed. I was able to do this online. I am booking a trip to Costa Rica for my birthday this year. I was able to check out a book from the library to help me research what to do. I feel like there is too much I want to do! I also want to relax at the pool and/or beach. I have been working on getting things more organized in the bedroom today. I joined the Book of the Month club and need to find a place for my books. I need to go through my bookshelves and see what books to get rid of to make room. I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Happy Monday, Pokeys! Hoping to see some of your artwork, soon, kellyr21 . Sorry you have to go to work on your day off, knutschen . It sounds like that really piled up yesterday with lots of jobs you gave yourself. But YAY for your upcoming trip! Hope your passport process goes quickly. The Canadian passport renewal process was really slowed down after Covid. Not sure if they are back on track now. Which books are you reading from Book of the Month? Haven't looked at that club in years, but it was the first one I joined and I remember the joy of getting books in the mail. Speaking of Cricut, Linda , this morning I revamped a half made page from years ago. I actually cut it up to use the huge pumpkin I had cut with a Cricut at one time. Used it on a new page that is drying now. I don't think I mentioned it in the What shuts down your MOJO thread, but OVERTHINKING is a huge creativity downer for me, and I had wanted that page to be so perfect it never got finished. But today that pumpkin is in its new home on a quick page! Yesterday we went for brunch, and I spent the rest of the day talking to all the family members who called to wish me Happy Birthday. But I had woken up with an idea for my last 28-4-28 challenge, and bit by bit through the day I managed to put my sample together. Today we plan to go for pizza in town to celebrate dh's sister's bd. I have some definite scrappy goals this week: nothing like a deadline to get me moving, I guess. I plan to leave Friday to drive down to DS3's home near Calgary for the weekend. I will be taking my Fall and Winter scrapbooks with me. Did the final Fall page this morning. The problem is that there are a couple of LO's about those particular dgs's that I have not yet scrapped. So... I will need to get those done by Thursday. Can't find the printed photos for one of them, (and they may be some that the WM kiosk continues to skip over when I am printing there) so will be printing those at home today. Also purchased some stamp/die combo's especially for a couple of these pages, so will be doing some other prep work. And dug out the cs I had stenciled on last fall in hopes of doing these pages at the crop in October. Can you spell O-V-E-R T-H-I-N-K? Hopefully the Wednesday morning crop will see me actually pulling those pages together...

knutschen - sounds like you've been super busy - thanks for making the time to stop by and update us. Costa Rica sounds exciting! grammadee - good for you re-purposing that pumpkin! Sounds like you're well on your way to a productive Wednesday crop. I have a casual FB crop this evening - planning to use a new EP winter collection kit and scrap last winter's snow pictures from the big kids finally. Not sure yet what I'll work on Wednesday. We were in the city yesterday for DD16's Girl Scouts. We hit a couple of thrift stores - at one I got a bunch of letter stickers and an alpha/numeric clear stamp set and the other I picked up two envelopes (the 13x13 plastic ones) of scrappy stuff - one was all Piggy Tales - paper, rub-ons, stickers, chipboard, alphas; the other was camping/outdoors themed with AC paper as well as a bunch of outdoors stickers and embellishments. Also stopped at Tuesday Morning - they actually had quite a bit of scrappy stuff for a change. I just got two collection kits - CB Home Again and EP Winter Magic - and EP Halloween ephemera pack. Back into the freezer for me now. Today is catching up on housework, putting away my new goodies, and hopefully some scrapping later. I do need to tackle jediannie's day 3 challenge - I have plenty of Shimelle classes to pick from. And I might have a look at the Cricut and see if I can't cut something using my cartridges...

Wow, so many things happening with our Pokeys! joyfulnana, I am thrilled for your DS on his sobriety. That is a huge accomplishment and he should be so proud of himself. You can be a proud mama! Linda, using the cartridges should be easy for you after using SCAL. I have cartridges sitting in the basement gathering dust. I'd be happy to share if you think you would like them and that they would be helpful. I used a lot of the Paper Doll dress ups because I had lots of young granddaughters and that cartridge has tons of extra images. I also used some of the others, but not as often. I don't think you can buy a machine that will use the cartridges anymore. How is your DH doing after the weekend? It sounds like you got lots of good buys on scrappy supplies. Congrats. kitbop, how is little Scout doing? knutschen, your trip to Costa Rica sounds fun. My DGD and her DH went there shortly after they were married and loved every minute. I'm sorry you have to sit through mandatory instruction. I hope that at least you glean some new info from it. So nice to see your smiling face pop up. grammadee, Happy Belated Birthday. I meant to hop on yesterday and celebrate you, but I had family here. I love the big pumpkin you used. That turned out beautifully. I look forward to "seeing" you on Wed. I hope you have a safe trip at the end of the week and that you get everything accomplished before you leave. kellyr21, your sketching is wonderful. I love your turkey and birdie especially. I hope you continue with that. I am glad you are enjoying the class. I started this post yesterday afternoon and never could get back to it. DH is having trouble with his miter saw and we have been all over town trying to get tools to fix it himself, or someone to do it for him. I think he can now fix it and get on with his project. I have housework I planned to do yesterday that will have to be done today. Hopefully I can get some things prepared for the crop tomorrow.

nylene- DH seems to be doing better - he's back at work. He even gave DD16 a driving lesson yesterday - on our other property where there is lots of empty space, lol. He bought a car over the weekend to teach her with and that she'll get to drive once she has her license - she is over the moon excited. I appreciate the offer of the cartridges - let me see how I do with the ones I have - giving them a try is on this week's to-do list. Happy Belated Birthday grammadee! Hope it was a great one!

nylene and kitbop - you guys have encouraged me to try something new...the title on this layout was cut with the Cricut using the Classic Font cartridge. Once I get through my snow photos, I'll see if I can find photos I can use something from my other two cartridges on - Zoo and Playtime.

Very seriously Linda - if you feel like the cricut is something you might start using more, please let me send you my old cartridges and booklets! Just say the word. Your layout is...cold! It's beautiful! We lost Scout on Saturday. It broke our hearts and I keep expecting her to turn up at my side. She used to come down and check on me while I was scrapping. Good work on the sketches kellyr21! It's so good to stretch our artistic brains. knutschen - we are also working on passport renewal. It's just a fiddly process so we kept putting it off. We're planning a trip at the end of April so we will need them! grammadee - I hope you had a wonderful birthday! I'm so sorry I missed it...I've been in a bit of a fog the past week.

So sorry to hear that you have already lost Scout, kitbop. I think her mischievous spirit is still hanging out in your scrap room, and I hope you can smile when you think of her. (((((HUGS))))). Glad your dh is feeling better, Linda and that his bp is under better control. Thanks for the birthday wishes. Had a nice quiet day with lots of time to chat with friends and family on the phone. Today I started on laundry. Between loads, I put together one dirt biking two pager today, and got organized to complete another tomorrow morning during the crop. Have the papers and photos out on my counter, but no real plan for how that one will look. I threw all the grit and grunge and layers at the one I did today, so no pressure on the next one. Not sure if I will get to the lake LO's for Linda's Sunday challenge, but I have those photos handy, and have my camping/lake bin here beside me, so it's a possibility if I don't have too many technical difficulties with Google.

Happy Wednesday! Waving hi! Glad you all like a few of my drawings. I really like the class and now we have it twice a week. grammadee- Happy belated Birthday!!!! I am very happy you had a wonderful day! kitbop- HUGS to ya! linda- How are your knees? I hope you are feeling better. Also, glad your dh is back to normal. He must be feeling good to give your dd a driving lesson! So happy for her and the joys driving will bring her. nylene- Yes, that drawing class has been good fun and medicine for me. The teacher guides us through several drawings each class. I might do one, none or all. Sometimes it is relaxing just to listen along. I am glad to hear your dh is still doing his crafts. He is such a trooper and blessed to have you. @knutchen- Great to see ya! Your trip sounds fun! I have never been to Central America but I have seen some travel/docs on it. So beautiful and tropical. I know you will have a fantastic time! joyfulnana- Well the BIG game is this Sunday and I will be watching the puppy and kitten bowls! LOL! My dh's beloved Eagles are playing and I don't think I can handle the stress. LOL! I may pop in at half time and at the end it they are winning. But if the Chiefs win what excitement it will be for your city/area. We really like the coach and Patrick.

Hi Pokeys. kitbop I'm so sorry to hear about Scout. Sending hugs. kellyr21 thanks for sharing your drawings. I've never done a drawing class, but that looks fun. I agreed to be stage manager for a play that is happening in May. I'm a little nervous because I haven't worked with this director before, but it should be fun. Rehearsals are Monday and Wednesday from 8-10 PM which might be a challenge. My bedtime has been 10 PM lately!
I'm doing Layout a Day this month. Thanks for all the kind comments in the gallery. I decided to do it in a 6x8 notebook and not worry if I've done the story before. This has made it so much easier. One picture is enough and if I don't have paper I want I can just leave the bit of background that shows white. I'm using a notebook by 49 and Market that has cardstock pages so I can stamp if I want and it doesn't bleed. They're only 16 pages, though, so I'll have to use two of them if I complete the month. Here are a few of my pages from week one.
Day 1 LOADI stamped the background for this one. LOAD Day 4 Makers Gonna Make

awesome pages justjac - and I think many of us (myself included) are our own worst critics. My morning did NOT get off to a good start - the high school was in lockdown BEFORE the tardy bell rang. They were turning away buses and car riders but of course, my kid's bus was there early enough that she was locked down. Apparently one of the JROTC kids had been given permission to take a drill rifle (not functional/ceremonial) home to practise with (WTF were the instructors thinking? Even in the 80s that would NEVER have been okay at my high school). All is well now and school has resumed but talk about an adrenalin rush before I had caffeine.

What a way to start a morning, Linda, for you AND your dd. And I suppose that once the crisis was over, many of the students would not have been returning to school, so she may end up with essentially a wasted day there...

Oh, Linda , I am so glad that the lockdown was not for something serious. That just gives me panic to think of it. Glad things are now back to normal. I am very serious, like kitbop . I would love to have Cricut cartridges out of my basement and into the hands of someone who could use them. I wore out 2 Expression machines. Em's DH repaired hers once but couldn't do it the 2nd time, so I have her cartridges too. I would love to send them to you. You did a great job on your title. The combo of SCAL for titles and cartridges for images is wonderful. kitbop , I'm sorry I missed your post about your Scout. My heart hurts for you and your family. You have had a lot of losses recently. I am sending virtual hugs. kellyr21 , I'm glad you are enjoying the class and are not pushing yourself, but sketching as you feel it. I love seeing what you are working on. justjac , I am loving your LOAD pages. You look so pretty in your Birthday page! I will get to the gallery and leave some love. I especially love that stamped background. These are all turning out so nice! grammadee , thanks for setting up the crop yesterday. I signed on with no idea of what photos I would use, what paper, or anything. It just all fell into place and I scrapped a page and got new ideas and finished one for your challenge. I know I will never be able to keep up this month, but I have enjoyed it so far and have had fun doing the challenges. Thanks for all your work on this site. maribeth , how are you doing? I wanted to let you know that I think I will have a Courthouse photo for you tomorrow. Em is taking us to the Temple in Provo City which is across the street from the Historic Utah County Courthouse. If the weather is nice I should be able to get a good photo from there. DH has run out of projects and is getting antsy to get back to work on the Golf Course. I know he is nervous about the surgery coming up and needs to keep busy. I need to come up with something for him to build me for my scrap supplies. Right now everything is scattered because I have been scrapping Summer, Halloween, and still have some Christmas pages. Can you tell I'm not very organized? Have a great day, everyone.

Thanks grammadee and nylene - we've had too many lockdowns these past couple of years. I appreciate your offer as well but I know mailing from Canada to the US is more of a pain with customs etc... I would much rather see these in use! There are no customs to worry about if you aren't actually buying things. I'm really not envious of your morning. justjac - I'm envious of your theatre time! I love being backstage. But I've always been a backstage spectator. When I was young, my Mom did semi-professional shows so I would watch all the backstage stuff; more recently, I've been able to do some backstage stuff with Katie (like supervision of kids in plays and things) but I've never actually DONE the theatre stuff and don't have a clue how to get into it now at this age! I love your relaxed approach to LOAD and I think it shines through in your joyful layouts!

Happy Thursday! This week just flew by. linda- Oh boy, what a day you all had. I am glad everyone is ok. I remember how nerve racking those were when I was sub teaching. How is the driving lessons going for your dd? Glad your knees are feeling better. nylene- What type of work does your dd do at the golf course? He has worked there a long time right? We have a golf course here and I haven't been over there lately but it is so relaxing very time I go. justjac- Your pages look good! Nice work! So exciting you will be a stage manager for the play. I know you will do a fantastic job. What is the name of the play? Is it a community or school production? So fun to know one of our Peas is in show business! LOL!

Good Friday morning, Pokeys! kitbop, I hope you are feeling better. And that things have settled down at your dd's school, Linda. justjac, I am glad you are sharing your LOAD pages here. And glad some of our 28-4-28 challenges have fit in with their prompts. You are so creative with that smaller format. nylene, I hope you can find a project for dh to work on that he will enjoy and that you can use. I have been working on three seasons this month, too. But I finally have Christmas shoved into its corner cupboard, and tucked my small Halloween stash back into its Iris container. Hope next week I can get back to scrapping Winter again. joyfulnana, enjoy the Super Bowl. I hope your team wins, now that ds's team is out of it. I am taking a few minutes with my coffee before packing up to head out onto the road. Plan to drive to the Calgary area today. Will be staying with one of my ds's. Lots of hockey to watch tomorrow and I think four cousins will be together tomorrow in the afternoon for a short time--maybe for supper. Everyone has their own schedules and I just go along with whatever plans have been made. Charged the battery on my camera yesterday, so I am all set LOL. Hoping to get a good photo to use for my February calendar page, but otherwise just enjoying the fun. Meanwhile dd & family will be here at the farm with Grampa. Okay, gotta get moving. TTYL!

Hey Ladies! Safe travels grammadee , your weekend sounds super busy and fun! And Grampa is going to have a fun weekend too lol. Does he ever travel with you? I guess I missed something kitbop , I hope you're feeling better. I'm so sorry about Scout. The past year is just so much. I hope it's clear skies for you the rest of the year. Oh man, Linda I gave quite a few cricut cartridges to my mom when I got the Joy, I would have loved to have shipped some to you. I never wanted to use my computer when scrapping, but I have to say, it' nice to use design space, and you can import fonts and images for free. I haven't used it enough yet to know everything it will do, but the smaller format works for me, I never used the full 12x12 with my expression. I used my baby bug most often. I hope you have good luck! It's really pretty easy to use the carts. I'll be DD is so excited to learn to drive and have a car! Have the driving lessons started? kellyr21 I will be rooting against your DH of course LOL but I think it's going to be a good, thrilling game that will go to last score. They are both great teams. Your sketches are beautiful! I love that flower best too. justjac , that's awesome that you are getting back to theater! It's been a long time. This week has sped by so fast! I've got so many Dr appts - getting all my annual stuff squared up lol. Had labs drawn this morning, I'm having a mammo on Monday and a well woman check for valentine's day. I told the receptionist I was going to have some self love that day and get checked out lol. Rudy will be sleeping over Saturday night and then here for practice on Sunday morning - hahaha they know to be out of here before game time lol. I've been looking through all the 28-4-28 challenges and matching things up. I hope to scrap tomorrow before my weekend activities start lol. Waving hi to everyone, I hope you all have a great weekend!

safe travels grammadee - have fun! kellyr21 and joyfulnana - driving lessons are going slowly - mostly because she's been busy and there's just not a lot of free time during daylight hours when both DH and DD are available. They do seem to be going a bit better than DD22's did - she never did get her license (anxiety related). joyfulnana - good luck with all the appointments. I have my mammo coming up next month - I had to wait a bit because of my last covid booster.
