She should just save everyone the time and money it would take to do that and move to a conservative, authoritarian country herself. Maybe she might enjoy Russia this time of the year?

I’m all for it. The morons living in red states will be illiterate and destitute within 2 years asking for handouts and the blue states can tell them to go fuck themselves. Can we give Texas back to Mexico while we’re at it? Just because I was born, raised and currently live in a red state does not make me a moron. I am not destitute or illiterate. The way other people in my state vote does not mean that I believe what they do or vote the way they do. Blue states are full of conservative voters the same way our state has plenty of liberal voters. Same!!! I'm not a moron... and I'm not destitute nor am I illiterate. I'm STUCK in a state where the governor IS a moron though!!

Love this. And anyone who believes all this mess is just a Trump problem should recall who was and was not on the national political landscape in 2004. Trump is a symptom, not the disease. The same argument, BTW, goes for all the red states with blue cities that provide the bulk of their tax base. It’s our Houston taxes that pay for the infrastructure in the rural, red parts of Texas.

There are times when I wish that we would splinter - assuming that everyone gets the opportunity to go where they want before the borders change.

MTG is vulgar & ignorant; she proves me correct every time she steps outside or speaks. But, I'm surprised by how constantly I'm amazed at the Grand Canyon-like depths of her ignorance. I also believe that anybody who contributed to, participated in, or approves of the Jan 6 Insurrection should be in prison, not in the legislature. WTH?
There's a theory that this could happen, but that the Blue States provide all the fiscal and intellectual capital, while the Red States provide the food. Leads to some "interesting" speculation on which would vanish first, but it sure doesn't do us any good as a country.

Can we give Texas back to Mexico while we’re at it? Texas can become its own nation. Mexico wouldn’t want them. Does MTG have a Confederate flag in her office? Charlie Daniels singing “The South’s Gonna Do It Again?” The red states can go to hell in a hand basket for all I care. But the blues get WDC. Fortunately we don’t need their cotton. And sorry, but we won The War of Yankee Aggression. Why is she not called out on this BS by a Dem? If a Dem said that, the Internet would blow up and there would be press conferences, etc. The Dems need to publicly fight this type of ignorance.

I was looking for another tweet she did that someone posted and she must have deleted it anyway in the process I found these.
She is on a roll…. All joking and sarcasm aside we really shouldn’t have people like her in the government.

I wonder what my right wing evangelical Christian Trump supporting relatives who happen to live in Illinois think of MTG's idea. Though since they all bow at the feet of Fox News, they probably haven't even heard about it yet.

So the Republican voters got rid of Liz and kept MTG. What does that say about these voters and their choices?

My ties to the South goes back as long as my ancestors sailed across the Big Pond from Europe. I have close family there still. I worry about them, with their maniac governor and elected officials. I wish they would move to Michigan. But a couple of my friends that intentionally moved South so they would better fit in with the Christian Nationalism and “conservative values”? Yeah. This article is for them. TFS.

I live in a red state that I love. I hate the politics and we are getting redder and redder every election. I think it would be nice to split into red and blue states in theory. In practice, both red and blue states have lots of citizens that are in the opposite camp.
Kevin McCarthy needs to publicly call her out.

I love her "everyone I talk to" statement - shades of Trump's "many people are saying." In other words, only the voices in their heads are saying it. That's because she only talks to MAGA folks. My favorite saying, "When everyone thinks alike, nobody thinks very much." She ought to get out more. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and GOP leaders recently rewarded Greene with committee assignments, including a slot on the House Homeland Security Committee. As I recall, McCarthy was held hostage for five days and 15 votes and now they've got him by the short ones. I’m all for it. The morons living in red states will be illiterate and destitute within 2 years asking for handouts and the blue states can tell them to go fuck themselves. Generalizations, anyone? My state may be completely mental and our governor is evil incarnate, but we're not all troglodytes who vote MAGA. BTW, Florida is about to fall into the ocean under the weight of all the people moving here to escape insane taxes. We may end up blue after all. ETA: I'm glad they gave MTG her Twitter account back so she can remind us daily what huge shrieking moron she is. You know...in case we're likely to forget. Maybe the voters will do better next time or she'll get indicted for treason. Either way, everybody wins.

anyone who actually believes, or even *thinks* this might work (which it wouldn't, come on-- of course it wouldn't; having a bunch of geographically disconnected states become their own country? really?!?) has obviously never watched the 'Petoria' episode of Family Guy. E Peterbus Unum (Peter declares his property to be its own country)I totally agree- the press shouldn't give her oxygen for her BS'ing.

Well California would make it on their own. NJ can hook up with NY and the New England states.. there's a good start..

Well California would make it on their own. According to many commenters, we (California) will fail within a year without the food from the red states. Apparently they don't realize that California grows almost half of the US's fruits, vegetables, and nuts. We may not be the largest in terms of beef, but we do have a lot of cows in the state. I don't think California will starve.

I think we are trending from a democracy to a hateocracy. We a sorely in need of a Leader, I haven't seen or heard of one yet.

Curious - many of the people who move from Cali to Texas find their all-in tax burden is actually higher here due to our property and sales taxes. This seems to be true for all but the the very wealthy. Might transplants to Florida find a similar situation? State has to generate revenue somehow.

I think we are trending from a democracy to a hateocracy. We a sorely in need of a Leader, I haven't seen or heard of one yet. Are you referring to a good leader of the GQP? We already have a good leader for the country. Problem is that one party doesn't want to unify at all, and the rest of us are losing our desire to interact with them as well due to their behavior and things like the tweets that are the topic of this thread. I've often thought about where I would like to move to where I don't have to deal with the hate and ignorance that I see on many local news articles, but I don't know if such a place exists. In that basic way, MTG's idea sounds intriguing in a knee-jerk kind of way. But in reality, what she and others say is highly problematic and the fact that no GOP "leaders" have called it out (that I have seen) is equally disturbing.
