Hello all! I've been terrible at joining in the quarterly chat threads this year, I'm sure as the weather cools down here I'll spend more time peaing and I hope be a little more active. scrappinwithoutpeas I hope your Dad is recovering well.

any last minute challenges you want to add? Think about what projects you'll be working on, what supplies you want to use, and what techniques you want to try
The challenge thread closes today so this is your last chance to add challenges until Q3

I just put all the challenges into a word documented and printed, so I'm ready to go! I'd like to spend the whole day scrappin'... but I do have a few "must do" items first. Can I call in sick to my own "must do" list??? Mental health day?
Nah, scrapping later today will be much more fun if I've done my chores.

scrapping later today will be much more fun if I've done my chores. This is how I feel. It's only meant to get to 15 here today, so once I've done tasks like the grocery shopping, I'm coming to hide out in my space.

Oh NO scrappinwithoutpeas - I hope your Dad keeps his chin up while this heals! It's nice you can support him through this time though. What is your DS studying abroad? Thank you and all the other peas who sent well wishes for my Dad's healing. He is doing okay but is impatient to be able to use his right arm again. The break is near his shoulder so no cast, only a sling - which is an imperfect solution for keeping it immobile. He doesn't like sitting around and is frustrated to have others have to do things for him. He's working on getting his strength back for walking, lifting himself to standing from sitting one-handed/one-armed, etc. especially after 3 days in the hospital where he could only get up and walk with assistance. Anyway, my brother had to go back home for his own [unrelated] medical reasons mid-week, and my sister can't get here until next weekend (teacher/spring break) so I have one more week on my own with him. Plus all of the home care staff (PT, OT, RN, etc.) that come throughout the week to work with him for an hour at a time. I'm also working (remotely) through this as much as possible. ETA that my wonderful awesome DH came up this weekend (Fri night through this morning) to be with me and help!! It made a huge difference and felt like the burden was lessened for a while. He also helped me talk my dad through some small changes we (my siblings and the rest of the family) want him to make to be able to continue living on his own. To answer your question, he already has a linguistics degree and is studying Arabic language. He also speaks Spanish & French so Morocco is a good place for him to study. He's in the final stretch of the program and he and his fellow students are working on presenting their capstone projects.

Don't forget that this upcoming weekend--actually Thursday to Monday--is our first Double Points Weekend of the quarter. Earn DOUBLE for everything you accomplish from April 13th to 17th! Double points for time spent crafting & organizing too.
I'm excited for this and hope to spend a good part of the weekend in my craft room. We do have Saturday plans and Sunday morning is booked as well but otherwise...playing with paper it'll be.

I'm just going through the list of challenges now to plan my LO's and it's a kid free weekend too. Well, little kid weekend. I'm not sure about my big kids and what spanners they might through into my scrappy plans. Darn work, or I would hide out for the whole 4 days lol.

Double points starts today and runs through Monday! That's double on everything - creating, organising, time spent crafting....and if you craft with others online or in-person - you'll really rack those points
I have to do taxes but then hoping to scrap

I'm opening up a crop on google meet later today if anyone is interested! It's like getting double the double points since the points are double anyway for cropping with others. Woot! I'm excited. It feels like forever since I've been this excited to scrap.
Anyone is welcome to join in!

How is everyone doing this double points Sunday? Any crafting going on? I had a video call with a friend this morning - she wanted to work on vision boards together. I decided to use my word of the year and the quotes etc... that I had pulled together for it. We had a good time working on them and double points for crafting plus double points for crafting with a friend...adds up! joyfulnana - sorry I couldn't make yesterday's online crop -if anyone is setting one up today, I'll try and jump on.

I earned a fair amount of points for crafting with others. Almost as much as month's worth on the old counting plan! LOL I"m really loving this way.
Pretty sure there won't be any this coming weekend. Too many boys around lol.

Hi Paper Posse! My best scrappy friend and I got together this weekend to scrap. We almost never do that unless we go away for a crop. My DH is out of town this weekend so it worked out perfectly. Hope everyone else has had a good weekend with some crafty time.

It's a new month! How was your April? You don't have to turn any points in until the end of the quarter but I strongly suggest adding up the April points (I still need to do mine) soon to make it easier for yourself. May should be a fun scrappy month with iNSD this coming weekend - any plans? I'm doing the SG crop - and then the double points weekend the following week here. grammadee is trying to put together a mini crop for us so please reach out to her if you're willing to host a day - just need to post a sketch, a recipe challenge, and a discussion question and then pop into the thread periodically throughout the day to keep things moving.

Good Morning! I agree Linda, I'm working on April points as well. Anything to make things easier! I'll be online cropping with my mom and niece Saturday during the day and then depending on energy and motivation, join in for a bit if there is an online crop here. I usually take some time off around this weekend but I got beat to it this year. That actually worked out well since I pushed my time off to the 15th so I can take more part in the double points weekend activities. Win-win I'm also knitting a blanket here and there while watching TV. I'm hosting a day of the Pea crop as well and want to spend part of Saturday planning my prompt, etc. Everything feels so busy lately? Is it just me or is life just coming faster and faster? Is this what happens when you get older? lol

Yes - busy joyfulnana - for me, I think it's the season, the school year winding up and summer planning happening etc... I'm not sure how much scrapping I'll get done on Saturday or Sunday but Friday and Monday for sure and hopefully some weekend evening time. Saturday I'll be watching the coronation and making yummies for our celebratory tea and then Sunday we'll be in the city for DD's Girl Scout meeting which is longer than usual (3hr not 2) due to summer trip planning - they are going rafting/backpacking/canoeing in the Carolinas in June and canoeing on the Boundary Waters in July. And then we'll probably try and video chat with the big kids since DD is turning 23. The following weekend I don't have anything scheduled except the pea crop which I'm also hosting a day

Oof! My "vacation" has left me feeling like a zombie, and with a strange feeling of "grief" that it's over and we're back to normalcy! We've been home since Monday, but I haven't done any scrapping and there is still 1 suitcase on my bedroom floor, plus a box of receipts/memorabilia that I put out for all the kids to just dump into when they found bits and pieces they thought I should look at.
I also have many photos to sort of course!
Hoping to scrap this weekend if I can find my mojo and can ignore the chaos that is the house. I thought I might pick a few vacation photos, edit and print at home so give myself some encouragement. But I don't want to do too much with them because I want to make an album "plan" which will include a lot of divided page protectors.

April was busy for me so not as much scrapping as I might have liked although I made plenty of memories. I'm looking forward to scrapping some photos of last week's outing to see the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (which sounds rather fancy) who performed the soundtrack for Bugs Bunny/Merrie Melodies cartoons (which sounds more like my type of entertainment).
May looks to be a bit quieter, DH and I have both been sick this week so lots of laying on the couch watching scrapping videos. I'm finally feeling well enough to work on some pages tonight, although I think I'll be in bed before too long even though it's not quite 8pm.

Happy Mother's Day to those celebrating. (((Hugs))) and prayers to those who find the day hard.
Is everyone finding a chance to earn those double points this weekend? (Thurs-Mon) and check out the crop thread -there are some extra point earning challenges there (which are good for the rest of the quarter if you're not able to get to them this weekend)

Boy I've been awful about chatting here this Q, honestly this whole year. Anyone doing anything scrappy this weekend? I'm not. I think I'm a little scrapped out after the past two weekends, iNDS and then last weekend's Pea party. Which I'm still working on those prompts. The photos and papers I thought I would use just aren't working like I thought they would, so I'll be looking through photos and papers to find something so that I don't turn it into such a job lol. Because I definitely do that! LOL!

I haven't scrapped yet this weekend but my housework is done and DH & DD just left again so...I really have no excuses. I just bought a new sketches ebook so I need to print that out and then pick some pictures to work with. joyfulnana - I think I'm a little scrapped out too but I think once I sit down and start, I'll probably keep going...it's the getting started...
