Thanks Ryann! That's what I was looking for. I searched her site and found a reference to the Christmas kit and class, but when I clicked the link, I didn't see anything Christmasy. Guess I need to be patient!

SNEAK PEEK #3 - Honeybee Stamps with Kelley Kohout! I loved the owl from the spring event, so hoping I'll love this one too!

Oooh I love the Honey Bee sneak! The others aren't loading for me so I haven't seen them yet. I somehow missed that we could register for the FB group already, so I just did that now and am pending. Can't wait to see the sneaks! I really need to be on this site more often, I've missed so much this summer.
I just saw that Altenew is doing a Christmas card event - it look awesome but too rich for my blood this year. $411 but discounted to $341 Canadian plus shipping. I bet it will be amazing though, the instructors and descriptions of the products sound awesome.

Love Sneak #3! I actually just finished the Honey Bee owls from the last card event. They turned out so good that I can't wait to do that blue bird.
This is an example of a class that I was sure I wasn't even going to do, but tried it recently and fell in love with it! Even my husband was completely impressed. He told me I shouldn't use the owls on a card, because they were too nice to give away. I assured him I could make more!

I gave the Father's Day owl card that we made in class to my Dad and it's the first time he's ever really looked closely at one of my cards and complimented me on it. He studied it and then said he had to put it where he could see it all the time, so he put it prominently in his family room. I gave one of the other owl cards to my 29-year-old nephew, and the third one to my 25-year-old nephew, and both absolutely loved it. I've really never gotten such enthusiastic reactions from the guys in my family!

I've signed up. Looking forward to it. I skipped this past spring. My friend and I decided to cut back to one a year. We just didn't have the time to play with all of the product outside of finishing the classes doing multiple a year. We think we should sign up for the spring event and then stick with spring. Fall event is sometimes heavy on the Christmas themed cards. We are both more into spring/bright colors.

Sneak peek #4! Simon Hurley is on a roll! I liked his cards from the spring and like these too! The houses and trees look to be stencils. Wonder what the "dots" come from? Embossing folder?

Don't really care for the animal stamped images but that purple paste, WOW! I hope it shines in real life like it does in that picture!

I looked over the schedule. I like that they kept it to 4 classes per day for 2 hours but I'm also bummed that it's a full day of classes on Thursday. I took Friday and Monday off work and I just cannot swing a Thursday off work too.
I also like that they gave the ink color swatch PDF. That's going to be really helpful.
I didn't realize that Meghann Andrews wasn't teaching a class, I'm bummed about that.
The schedule is as far as I've gotten. I need to check out the supply list to see if there's anything out of the ordinary on there.

I just finished building an Excel file for the discounts so I can keep track. I have an order for TE and need a couple more inks from them.
I LOVE the ink swatch! Really helpful for sure.
I did take Thursday, Friday AND Monday off. Might take Wednesday off too if things are slow at work. I have a ridiculous number of days off and should use them.
I looked closer at the cover photo (posted above) and am disappointed that there's another cupcake card. This one might use stencils, not sure. The Spellbinders class needs no inks, so it's probably the one on the bottom left. I really like the Autumn Greetings sentiment.
Boxes start shipping August 29th!

Well. I wanted to use the Altenew 20% off coupon and get the new StampWheel, but that coupon is only good on their "Limited Stock-Last Chance Sale" stuff. Booo...
Scrapbook.com has it for sale this week $10 off. When I use their SCT 10% coupon, it knocks it down to $80.99. Then they charge an arm and a leg for shipping. Jeepers. No good deals here.
Maybe I'll wait till Sept 15th and try the HoneyBee Stamps coupon.

Yeah, I'm not really into cupcake images, but oh well, I'll give it a whirl. I like most of the sneak peeks except for the Pink and Main one. I'm not really into their aesthetic. I'll reserve judgement until I see the full card, though. My main complaint with them is their colour combinations, I think. Kind of garish, is that the word? At the same time, there's always someone who likes to receive them, so even if I don't like it personally, someone will. I did take Thursday, Friday AND Monday off. Might take Wednesday off too if things are slow at work. I have a ridiculous number of days off and should use them. Oh my gosh, take the days off! I'm so jealous. I can't take any days off so I'll just be joining in on Thursday and Friday nights, and then Saturday and Sunday. I'm so wiped by Sunday afternoon that I usually skip the last class and do it later. Taking off all of the event days and then Monday to recover sounds heavenly!!

Disclaimer (you know you're in trouble when the post has to begin with a disclaimer!) I have participated in 8 of the Crop and Created Delivered events and have enjoyed all of them. The value is good, the people who run it are amazing and you can tell that most everyone involved really puts their heart into what they do. This is not a complaint!
It's more like an observation and a thought. I'm wondering if the card making event, in particular, has gotten too big for it's own good. I'm following the Facebook page for September and feel like I'm seeing more complaints and whining than in the past. The student supply list was definitely more involved than before (and I understand I don't need everything, the list just added to the feeling I was getting about the whole thing) and it seems like each of the companies are now trying to outdo themselves and others at each event.
I started thinking over the summer, as I did a comprehensive purging and organizing of my scrap room, that maybe this would be my last card making event for a while. I've got so much "stuff" for making cards that I really don't need more, and I can't find the time to play with what I've got. I felt like I needed to stop and just appreciate what I've got for a while. Then the recent information came out on the September event and I'm really getting that feeling confirmed. It might just be time to step back for a bit.
I admit, it also helps that I tried the paper crafting event in the spring and it really got me back to making layouts again, so I'm not giving up completely!
Like I said, just thinking here, and wondering if anyone else has an opinion - agree or disagree, I'm open to all thoughts.

lindamh , have you tried any of the non-SCT cardmaking events? After participating in 3 different company's events over the last few months, I can say without hesitation that (IMO) the vibe for the other events is tracks back to how SCT treats their customers in general (not just the complaints I've personally shared here in the past). If you haven't tried one and get the itch to do a card event, I'd give one of the others a go! Loved PF enough to sign up for a second and loved C+9th enough to plan on taking part in some of theirs in the future. And I'm looking forward to trying other companies down the road. Those products I will use for a good long while. Anyhow, food for thought.

I agree with you, lindamh. It's grown a lot since the first one back in Oct 2021 and, frankly, a bit overwhelming with 16 (!) classes. (I'd love Angie Blom to get more than 15 minutes. I always enjoy her watercolor card panel.) I keep coming back because of the value. I haven't looked at the supply list yet. I'm just assuming that I have everything already or a good substitute. I don't plan on purchasing anything for the event. I also feel the same as you after purging and organizing. I'm very specific in what I buy now, especially after my big purge.

It's more like an observation and a thought. I'm wondering if the card making event, in particular, has gotten too big for it's own good. I absolutely think the fall event is too big. 4 days with 4 two hour classes is pretty crazy. I was really surprised at the schedule. I have not gotten my box so I have no idea what's in it but I will say I'm a bit perplexed with the Gina K class. I love the sneak peek that is posted. However, it appears we are not getting all the supplies to complete the cards if we want our cards to look like the samples. The main card in the sneak peek has stitched white panels but we're not getting the dies for it? If we want the "exact same look" we need to purchase additional supplies from her store...which by the way are quite expensive? Maybe I'm in a mood but this just seems odd.

Sneak Peek #5 Gina K Designs Fancy Folds I saw that she listed Master Layout #13 in the supply list, but I believe that's the first time she's ever done that. I believe in previous classes she just told us the size to cut the cardstock. I don't have #13 but I do have #2 so will use that one as needed. Not sure what to think of these, I'm not crazy about different fold cards.

I agree with lindamh that the value for the C&CD events is really good. I also think the fall event will be overwhelming with 16 classes. The more classes they have, the more I'm liable to find a card/class I don't like. It would be nice if they would cut it back to two days again, with Friday being the prep day. I did sign up for the PinkFresh event which is the week before the C&CD event. I'm hoping I like it, but right now, I'm not getting excited because I'm not receiving anything from them about it. Just emails asking more people to register. I did notice a few sneak peeks in the last email, and I'm not a fan of pink for holiday cards. I will need to substitute some ink colors but I'm fine with that. I also have no idea if the VALUE of this event is worth the amount of money I paid. I, too, need to purge or use some of the classes I've gotten in these events. I have several that I definitely know I'll never do, and I'm not sure why I'm holding onto them. That said, I do like the build up to the actual C&CD event, and look forward to joining others because we're all doing the same thing together. We're all talking about the box, and the homework, and the instructors. The camaraderie is an essential part of my enjoyment of the event. I also enjoy seeing how others change/modify the cards.

Thanks for all the thoughts and input! I’m really enjoying reading what you have to say. I agree with several of you, that 16 classes is a bit much! I wonder if they would be able to scale it back at some point without there being a huge outcry. Or, are there more people than we think that would agree with scaling back? Between rising costs and postage maybe they will price themselves out of the 4 day event in the future?
I appreciate the suggestion of trying events by other companies. When I’m ready to go back to card classes, I’ll look into that.
For now I’m looking into smaller, cheaper classes that focus on something very specific. For example, a Copic coloring class.

For now I’m looking into smaller, cheaper classes that focus on something very specific. For example, a Copic coloring class. For Copics, I took Sandy Allnock's Beginning Copic Coloring class. It's pretty in depth and I got a ton out of it. Jenn Shurkus has a Copic coloring class. I haven't taken it specifically but I've taken lots of her other classes. I think the way she teaches is really easy to follow. I especially liked her Distress Inks, Distress Sprays and Distress Watercolor Pencil classes (3 separate classes). And her class the Creative Journey Art Retreat (not a specific focus but I like the class) I've also taken Hero Arts classes and the free Lawn Fawn classes.

I’m having mixed feelings about this upcoming CCD. It’s great value for the price. I enjoy the event itself, the instructors…really everything about the live event. I usually don’t follow along making with the live classes so the number of classes seems like a win to me. However I am not fond of the Facebook page leading up to the event. There is so much angst and stress between the crazy organization posts and the supplies posts. I pretty much avoid it.
I just finished the March 2023 cards(I don’t work along with the live classes). I realized I didn’t enjoy several of the cards as much this time around. The LSRS, Stamps of Life, and Pink and Main projects don’t match my style at all. However I did make these cards because I have the tools, materials, and instructions, so I figure the point for me is to try something new. Simon Hurley and Brutus Monroe can sometimes be a miss style-wise for me too. I wish Pink Fresh and the Stamp Market would be back in the mix.
This time around, I already don’t mesh with the Pink and Main vibe, so I am a bit annoyed that a laminator is on the general supplies list. I don’t have a laminator because I opted for the Spellbinders glimmer plate. Now there is a class I already don’t love the style of and I can’t even complete it to be of optimal quality. Why would a laminator or a $40 just released die set be a part of the general supplies? I am sure there would be an outcry if Spellbinders projects needed a glimmer plate or their new letter press plate. It’s the same thing IMO
I loloked into the upcoming C&9th class and the combined Pinkfresh and Stamp Market classes, but they are all Christmas centered. I enjoy their stuff, but entirely Christmas themed is a miss for me too. So if I drop CCD I don’t know what will fill the card class niche for me. As a scrapbooker, I love making cards, but am not confident with it. Classes help get the card juices flowing.

It’s the same thing IMO This was another thing that made me go hmmm when reading the supply list. So to get cards to look like the sample, I need purchase silver foil, transfer gel and a Minc/laminator? It did say she would show how to make the cards without the laminator foiling so I'm sort of waiting for the book before I say too much. If she's using a stencil, then I'd say the substitute is probably versamark and embossing powder which most people have. That gives a very similar look so I'm *sort* of OK with that. But again, why are we not getting all the supplies in our box? I wouldn't consider these a "general" supply most people have on hand. This just seems so strange.

I agree with so much of what has already been said. I’ve attended every online card event they’ve held and have seen it grow from two to four days. I am starting to wonder if I want to do this again or maybe just once a year instead of twice a year. I am finding as it grows, I am liking less of the projects. And like others have mentioned, I am accumulating so much stuff that I am not using. I have also attended the Pinkfresh card events and love almost every single project. You don’t receive as much, but I end up liking and using what I do receive. It is 6 classes and not nearly as overwhelming. And I feel it is a good value for the price.
I think the first event had about 600 attendees, this next one has 3400 attendees. So the Facebook group has a lot more people on it asking the SAME questions over and over. They drive me crazy. Just this week two people asked when they will get their boxes, although all the information has been emailed out and posted in two places on the Facebook page. And then there are the women that over engineer every aspect of the event, making special labels, boxes, ways to mark their book, special color charts etc. That’s good for them but when they share it all these other women freak out about how to do the same. And then there is the constant asking about supplies and people freaking out about having the exact thing used in class. Catherine and other instructors make it clear to use what you have. I probably need to stay off the Facebook page since the questions drive me crazy.
So while I think the event is a great value, I am not sure it’s going in a direction that still appeals to me. I will see how this event goes and how many of the projects I like. I would probably do another Pinkfresh card event as long as it’s not holiday themed.

Did you see they posted a peek of the back of the book?
The top row is meh but the middle and most of the bottom row is talking to me! Love the butterfly, love the embossing folder (I'm guessing Altenew), and love the white embossing on Kraft cardstock (I'm guessing Hero Arts). LOVE the feather but bummed that the feather dies I just ordered get here today and love the Gina K peek.
Ugh, the stacked merry is ugh! Be gone with the stacked word fad!
