kitbop , I love the synopsis of your trip. I can hardly wait to see what you scrap! I know it will be amazing. I doubt I will ever get to New York, so I plan to enjoy it vicariously through your pages. I'm glad you had a great time. Linda , thank you for posting more of your album. I especially love the photos of nature and those flowers. I love that flower that you have made on that page. It adds such dimension to the page. Beautiful. I have never been to NC either. Your photos are so pretty. How is school going for DD by now? joyfulnana , you and my DH would get along great. He starts praying for snow in July! I feel like I have missed so much of the summer being stuck inside since my fall. I hate to see it come to an end because I HATE winter. Actually, I just hate being cold. I love it looking out from a warm house. I hope you have a fun time with Rudy. He is really growing up! gramma , so glad to see you posting. I am now able to exercise my finger, but he told me to do it gently. I have enough bend that I can type, but it's still hard to write. It sticks out and is in the way of the pen. Have your bruises healed? Glad you are enjoying your new home and are able to return to work as a consultant. That's a great spot for you. grammadee , your borscht making sounds delicious. It sounds like a busy harvest for you. I love Mikey's scrapping. I love that it's still an important part of your relationship with him. I left love on your Bees pages in the gallery. I hope you get everything done that is on your list! kellyr21 , I have been worrying about you because of the hurricane. I didn't have access to a computer, and from what I could see on my phone it looked like you could be getting lots of wind and rain. Glad you were not in the flooded areas. Yes, share your sketching! Glad you and Ron had a great getaway together. Jewelry making sounds like fun. We had a great visit with old friends in our hometown. Emily took us right to the gates of the Fair Grounds and dropped us for the Rodeo. We took a couple of high school friends with us. When the rodeo was over, we walked a half block to where she was waiting for us. It was very convenient. The rodeo was SO LOUD, it drove DH nuts, but he finally adjusted. We were in the grandstand, not far up, but he couldn't see much and couldn't even see the replay on the big screen. But he was a good sport about it. We went up on our mountain the next day and really enjoyed the ride and the views. It was a wonderful weekend away and we really appreciated Em driving us. Now I have to get back to all the things I let slide last month.

nylene - thank you - you're always so sweet! School seems to be going well for DD16 - she's not loving the group projects in English and there was a small meltdown over pre-calculus this weekend but otherwise all seems to be going smoothly. I'm so glad that you had a great visit - and that Em was able to drive you. Sorry your DH couldn't really enjoy the rodeo. That has to be so hard.

Happy Tuesday! Hope you all are doing well this week. Not sure how the other areas here in So Cal are but we just had mild rain on Sunday. I didn't notice any wind or heavy weather. Yesterday, I woke up to sunny skies. We are fine and I hope the harder hit areas recover soon. nylene- what a fun trip you had and I am glad your dd drove you all around. Your whole trip sounds like it was fun and relaxing, especially the mountain views. I don't think I have ever been to a rodeo and if I go, I will have to adjust to the loud sounds, too. grammadee- I love that bright yellow you used on your layouts. So cheerful with the fun pictures. linda- You have been busy! Look at all those beautiful layouts. Great job!

Hey guys what makes a Magic Mat Magic? Do I NEED one? Yes! you NEED one! It really saves on plates Sandals or tennis shoes - it depends on what I'm doing, but I like them both Shorts or "not on your life!!"- eh, I don't wear shorts often anymore - mostly because I'm over shaving my legs Go to the movies or Watch at home - watch at home Popcorn - buttered or plain- Hahaha as a long time WW I got used to plain popcorn, but I definitely only eat it buttered it now lol. grammadee how cool that Mikey loves to scrap. You Are having a busy week! I'll echo Linda , I'm really loving the yellow you've used on your last few layouts. It's so bright and happy! kitbop what an amazing trip! I can't wait to see the pics and layouts of all your adventures this year. nylene your weekend away sound like just what the Dr ordered It sounds relaxing and like it was a lot of fun for you both. Rudy and I had a fun time Sunday, we went for lunch and then shopping for new board games. We settled on a Bop-it and Yahtzee and I love playing with both. Still super hot here and everyday so far they have extended the excessive heat warning one more day. We started out with it lasting from Sat-Wed of this week, now they are saying it will end Friday evening. Man I hope so, it's awful here.

nylene - gorgeous layout of Baby Gracee - love all the flowers! gramma - I've been wondering as well...and also wondering what part of the sandwich it replaces in the Gemini jr kellyr21 - so glad you didn't get the storm joyfulnana - Hope it cools down - we had heat advisories for weeks - finally a bit cooler (back to normal Florida summer HOT) but I'm looking forward to actual cool temperatures...probably not for a couple more months BopIt is fun but noisy. DH has a Grogu version Took Mini to the vet today - just to establish him with our current vet - he's 11.4 lbs, very healthy, very chill, and very youthful...Vet said if he didn't know he was 13, he would have guessed younger - even his teeth seem younger. We've had him since birth so he definitely turned 13 in May. He didn't even flinch at his shots and he was friendly to the vet and the tech - what a good kitty. This is the first time since early 2020 we were able to go in with a cat at the vet - they are still doing kerbside check-in since their waiting room is still closed but once they have a room available, you can bring the pet in now instead of handing over in the parking lot. The other two go in next month for their shots.

joyfulnana, I'm sorry you are dealing with such heat. Our top temp yesterday was 78 degrees because it was rainy. Felt so good. Linda, I may have missed a post, but do you still have your little Mini Mouse kitty? Glad your Mini had a peaceful vet experience. Makes it peaceful for you also. gramma, I forgot to answer your questions: sandals or tennis shoes-definitely tennis shoes. Love my Hokas. shorts or "not on your life"-definitely not on your life- I only wear long pants. go to movies or watch at home- I love going to the movies but definitely want to watch those with subtitles at home so I can read them to DH. popcorn- buttered or plain-definitely plain. Yuck on butter, but love Kettle corn at the theater. Back to housework for me today.

If it doesn't end up working out for her to stay with her owner, then we'll take her in and then bring her to DS and DD

Happy Wednesday! Waving hi to you all. The park concerts ended last Wednesday and I sure miss it. They gave us a few extra concerts this Summer and that was fun. But last week, the power cut off during the show and that has never happened. So we all sat there wondering what happened. They never got is going so we just left. The city has some other events coming up this Fall so we will look forward to that. joyfulnana - I heart goes out for you! I hope the cool breezes show up soon. We have cooled off and I hope cooler temps show up for you soon. Hang in there! nylene - Any more outings coming up for you and your dh? So happy for you both were able to get away and have fun. We hope to get back down to Laguna Beach in the next few weeks. Hopefully, the storm didn't damage things down there. It is an art community and I hope to see more of the museums and galleries. linda - You fur baby was brave at the vets! I hope the other two do well, too.

Good Thursday morning, Pokeys. Glad your kitty did well at the vet, Linda . You obviously take very good care of them if he is so young for his age. I thought I was going to need to drive to the vet yesterday. Kandi went off her food Monday night, was pretty subdued on Tuesday, then refused supper again Tuesday evening. I tried to get her to come out of her dog house for me to look her over, (thinking she may have picked up some more porcupine quills in her mouth) but she cowered way back inside. But she greeted me yesterday morning like normal, and last night she was ravenous, so I guess whatever was bothering her has cleared itself up. Thinking she may have caught a rabbit or grouse and had over eaten enough to give herself a tummy ache. joyfulnana , I love that Rudy went shopping with you for games. Mikey makes alot of use of our collection of games, rotating from one favourite to the next. We have been playing Rummycub the last few times he has been here. He really wants to play Canasta but doesn't always have the focus and patience for it. We usually play Canasta when we have at least four people to play, but he sometimes convinces someone to play the two person version. I hope it cools off for your soon. It feels like fall here. Really chilly at night. I am already thinking I need to pick the green tomatoes next week so they don't get damaged by frost. Your trip with family sounds wonderful, nylene . What rodeo did you attend? Idaho is in the range of events that ds and ddil compete in, and I am never sure what their schedule is. Your baby page is adorable. I left love in the Gallery. gramma , did you get the Magic Mat? The reason I have not switched yet is I am kinda attached to my magnetic plate for holding dies in place. But now that my cutting mats are getting pretty warped, that isn't working so well any more and I have had to tape my dies down anyway. So I may just switch to taping all of the time. Lord knows I have enough washi to tape this whole house together... kellyr21 I am glad you are safe and sound after the "Hurriquake" down there. I like the peace and quiet of the country but sometimes miss the never ending options of somewhere to go. The Fringe Festival just ended in Edmonton and I have wanted to go for years but have never made it there. Dh had his cortisone shot in the hip yesterday morning and seems to be doing okay. No pain he associates with the shot, but he is feeling really wiped. Too soon to know if it is working. He needs to restrict his activities the next little while so will be spending more time in the house rather than out helping his nephew with his cows or our renter with his bison. It has been less than 24 hours and he is already restless LOL. Our borscht making day got switched to Saturday, so no need for a big harvest today. Just need to go out and find something for supper. Like the ancient hunter gatherers, except I don't have to walk as far and I am pretty certain I will find something edible... Not sure if I will accomplish much in here on my unexpectedly "free" day today. I have started putting together kits for my SKETCHtember samples. So more foraging in the house LOL.

Happy Thursday! Waving to you all. A few weeks ago, I was taking my usual walk and notice these trees were a beautiful hot pink, my favorite color. I have seen these trees almost every day but the color seemed more vivid. These trees also have light pink blooms and maybe lavender. I wonder what type of tree is this? So cheerful! When I walk under them, I usually feel a light sprinkle. Maybe they are sending me a kiss. LOL! Pink Tree by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr

kellyr21 those trees are so pretty! That's too bad about the power outage during the show. Glad it's cooled off for you. Did you get anything from the hurricane? I may have missed that if you did. Linda sounds like Mini is doing really well. Abby doesn't seem 12, except she isn't very playful lol. But since she's lost some weight, she is more active and not adverse to jumping on things lol. grammadee I love Canasta and haven't played in YEARS. I wish we could get Mikey, Rudy and nylene's Alex all together. I'll bet that would be a hoot - and probably chaos too lol. Maybe I'm mistaken, but did you sneak an extra month in Q4 for teams? LOL! I hope you enjoyed your "free" day. I can get a lot of nothing done sometimes if I have extra free time. I don't know what to do with myself lol. Last day for this dreadful heat! This is the first week of school in a lot of districts and a lot of schools had to have early release all week, or cancelled all together because so many of the schools don't have A/C. There has been some talk of going back to a September start next year. I hope they do, that feels more 'natural' to me. Probably because that's how it was when I was growing up. But it's also not as hot in September so this would be a good move in my opinion. I envy all of you who have cooled off. Everyday they add "one more day" so we'll see if today is really the final day lol. Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!

kellyr21 , those trees are gorgeous. I can't imagine living where you have flowers pretty much all year round. Enjoy them for me as you walk by. I'm sure they are giving you a kiss for appreciating them. Sorry your concerts have come to an end. I know you have really enjoyed them through the years. I'm glad your weather has cooled. joyfulnana , LOL at getting our grands together. I think those 3 boys would have such a great time together. They would also drive those around them a little nutty. I wish we lived close enough to actually do that. Think of the fun you and I and grammadee would have. I'm sorry it's still so hot for you. We are supposed to go back up to the 90's next week, but this little bit of rainy, cool weather has been so nice. grammadee , we attended the Cassia County rodeo. It's just a county, not district rodeo so may not be one your DS participates in. I did check the program immediately for your last name before the rodeo started. There were some Wright brothers who pretty much swept some categories. I wish Steve could have enjoyed it as much as I did. Has the cortisone shot helped your DH? The one in my shoulder has been a miracle. It took about 3-4 days to really take effect but I have no pain now. I may have to look into something for my back besides the back brace several hours a day.

We are doing an "estate" sale tomorrow at the old house. Bittersweet days.
I think my Silhouette is on it's last legs. I can't get it to connect to the new computer properly - which makes me swear!!
My hand is improving every day - still a little sore on the little finger side when I try to bend it and no grip at all. I want to craft durn it!!
I haven't gotten the Magic Mat yet. I don't do much die cutting so I'm afraid it will join the Scan and Cut and the Binding Machine on the top shelf of the closet, never used. I'm trying to be more disciplined in my purchasing. I still have a huge tub of stuff to unpack so it's not like I NEED anything else!!
Would anyone be up for a crop/chat on Monday?
Oh - and
Dogs or cats Cricut or Silhouette Open concept house or individual rooms Go to bed early or stay up late Pineapple on pizza or "are you kidding me?"

joyfulnana - Yes, Mini is doing well. I think he decided when we got the kittens two years ago that he was just as cute as a kitten and has acted accordingly. They're keeping youthful. I hope it cools down for you soon. We had a few days reprieve but are back on a heat warning - yuck! And yes, grammadee made our last quarter four months long. gramma (((Hugs))) estate sales are hard. A crop Monday sounds good to me Dogs or cats CATS of course Cricut or Silhouette - I have a Cricut Open concept house or individual rooms - individual rooms please and that was hard to find when we were looking for this house. Go to bed early or stay up late - I'm a night owl Pineapple on pizza or "are you kidding me?" - sure, I like ham and pineapple pizza

kellyr21 definitely crepe myrtle! I love them. My area of SoCal got 6.5 inches of rain during the hurricane! And an earthquake to boot. I thought for sure my water would break as well 😂😂 luckily, that didn’t happen. I spent the hurricane creating some birth/recovery affirmation cards using my scrappy supplies, which was a very peaceful way to pass the time. We didn’t lose power, but a few days later there was a scheduled power outage here for maintenance. The weather here is still hot but hopefully cooling down soon. And the best news is that I’m officially on maternity leave! Time to finish up my last minute baby tasks and possibly catch up in my mini-album.

scrappyrabbit, hooray for maternity leave. I hope this gives you time to be as prepared for the new arrival as possible. It's too bad we can't bottle extra sleep to open those first few weeks. LOL gramma, so good to see your happy avatar photo pop up. There is no way I could be present at my own estate sale. We did my DMIL's but she was in another state. Hugs as you reminisce getting ready for it. I would love to scrap online on Monday. What time are you thinking? Dogs or cats- Don't have either, but probably dogs. Cricut or Silhouette-Enjoyed my Cricuts, but LOVE my Silhouette Open concept house or individual rooms, a bit of both. Open kitchen family area, individual other rooms Go to bed early or stay up late -depends on what I have done that day. I stay up later than DH but get up later too. Pineapple on pizza or "are you kidding me?" Definitely yes!

@kellyr - those *are* lovely trees! I'm 100% sure they don't grow here gramma - I can't crop on Monday - I often don't get home until 5pm EST We had the estate sale for my Mom's stuff a few weeks back and it was gutting. But I think I could sell my OWN stuff OK even with memories attached but found it hard to let someone else's cherished possessions go for pennies. Hugs to you. Stay away from the magic mat. I have a few (when they were super cheap) and they are good *if you are doing a sh*t ton of die cutting*. If you only do die cutting once in a while, don't bother!!! Dogs or cats- I'll go dogs, but you know I adore both! Cricut or Silhouette- Used my cricut more, but liked the versatility of the silhouette more. But got frustrated with the process for both and neither got well used. Open concept house or individual rooms: I like a mix - some open living/kitchen/dining areas, and some quiet den/family/craft rooms Go to bed early or stay up late - I am a natural night owl: if I'm off work for extended periods, I get to sleep about 1AM and get up at about 10AM. But life doesn't work like that, so now I'm a "go to bed early" gal or else the morning feels painful. Pineapple on pizza or "are you kidding me?" I'm OK with it. DH and DS always order it. But I don't choose it! scrappyrabbit - yay for mat leave! Glad the storm wasn't crippling or labour inducing nylene - have you ever tried nerve blocks for your back? A lot of people swear by them. Cortisone isn't usually an option in the back because it's not 1 joint giving the grief. I had a "synvisc" injection in my knee last year and it did work: gave me immediate relief and let it settle down so that it's overall much better even without ongoing injections. hi grammadee, joyfulnana, Linda!

(((((HUGS))))), gramma. Thinking of you after your tough day at the estate sale. Hope you and your family and neighbours got to share lots of memories, too. I have nothing committed for Monday at all. Hoping to get another sample done for SKETCHtember. Got one out of five completed this last week. So I would be up for a crop/chat at any time. The borscht is in the freezer, after a borscht supper with dh's sister & her family. Dgs texted grampa before 7:00AM asking if there was any work for him to do at the farm, because he was "available all day". So Grampa picked him up and they spent the day here while I was working with dsil to make the borscht; then they came for supper. He is back again on Tuesday to spend a day with me. The plan is to scrapbook in the morning (working on his SN*P book), then go over to dsil's so he can help make dill pickles. Yes, joyfulnana, I think those three would have a blast together. And yes, nylene, we may need someone standing by with Vallium for the grandmothers LOL. So glad you are safe, scrappyrabbit. I hope you enjoy your time off before baby rabbit's arrival. Dogs AND cats please. Cricut or Silhouette. Ha ha. I have them both, and use neither up to its potential. Chose the Silhouette cuz it is attached to my computer to easier to page plan. Open concept house or individual rooms I like to separate noise from silence. Go to bed early or stay up late Pineapple on pizza or "are you kidding me?" Love my Hawaiian pizza.
