Good Tuesday morning, Pokeys! That crop yesterday was just what I needed. Was great visiting with you, gramma, nylene, Linda. And because I was going to join in I actually got my act together and was ready to actually put some pages together! Can't share til later, cux these are samples for my SKETCHtember challenges. This morning, as I cleared off my counters for the arrival of dgs, I finished the facing page to the one I did during the crop. What is on the agenda for you today? Dh is in town for a bit. He picked up dgs and they are "going for coffee" at the bakery. When they get back to the farm, it is a "Gramma day". We will work on dgs's SNAP book. Then we have a date to make dill pickles at dh's sister's place. Mikey loves dill pickles and wants to help make some. Mine don't consistently turn out well, so we will go learn from the pickle master. And that only takes care of the morning lOL. We have him all day while his mom attends a meeting.

It's a work day for me. We had a guy come yesterday to quote a porch for the front of the house. He actually showed up!! Also fence guys came and worked on the fencing. They are here from Ukraine. Communicating with them is interesting sometimes. So things are buzzing around here.

I'm as far inland as you can get in Florida and in one of only 4 Florida counties that haven't recorded sustained hurricane force winds so an actual hurricane would be very unusual here (hurricanes lose power over land)

Hey ladies. Sorry I've been a lurker this summer. It wasn't that I was super busy. Although I was a little busy. I'm back at work this week getting ready and the students start next week. My summer in a nutshell: We went to my mom's at the beginning of July. Dean and I met up with my mom at my sisters for a few days mid-July and then we had an extended family gathering on my mom's side and then one on Dean's dad's side (both a two and a half hour drive from home). We saw the traveling Broadway production of Aladdin in July and Six in August (the one about Henry VIII's wives.) I saw grammadee a couple times but we didn't manage to do a mini-crop at her house this summer. I read a lot and made daily pages in my notebook, but didn't do any 12x12 scrapping. I did a day trip to a lake with a friend and saw a tractor parade here in town on the August long weekend. We actually got an estimate to get our bathroom renovated, so fingers crossed that I can say goodbye to my mint green tub. gramma I love my magic mat. I use my metal dies for cards all the time and it keeps my Big Shot from making the horrible cracking noise and my top plate warps way less. As for some of the either or: I love sandals and would never wear socks if it weren't for the snow I love buttered popcorn and pineapple on pizza I prefer capris to shorts in the summer but actually bought a few pairs of shorts this year We don't have a cat or a dog I have a Silhouette and gave my Cricut away I'll try to keep you better informed on my comings and goings this fall.

Thank you kellyr21welcome back justjac - I think we all spent less time posting here this summer. Idalia has visited and left. We got strong tropical storm winds - very little rain...the opposite of what is typical here. We're all ok here - we lost power and internet but both are now back on. Loads of branches down and our front door was blocked by downed branches but no downed trees or damage for which I'm super grateful having walked around my subdivision and seen several houses with trees through roof and a couple of the roadways blocked by trees. Power is still out at our other property - we'll head over there tonight to see how things look there. DD16 is ending up with a whole WEEK off school - they had Monday off to install metal detectors and then Tues/Wed off for storm prep/storm and Thurs and Fri because roads are blocked and power is still out around the county and at least one school is serving as a shelter.
