I have started working on the title page to my album. I got the idea to use a bunch of circles. I'm excited about it. I pulled paper and some circles, also some paper to punch into circles.
I don't use the word October on my title page because I include Fall events from September, not just October. I'll just add the year. But last year I didn't go beyond Halloween. There was no more room.
I've watched some walkthroughs of albums (on super high speed) and have one open on my laptop for this evening.
I've found August unpleasant. Very hot, back to work on a regular schedule, back to school for the kid.
When do you all start? Do you sneak in some September or stick with October only?

When do you all start? Do you sneak in some September or stick with October only? October for me. I’m so dogmatic about this that I insisted we go to Oogie Boogie Bash well enough into October that the Disney weekend wouldn’t include a September date. Even though the last weekend of September-October 2 would’ve been both cheaper and more convenient schedule-wise. 😬

When do you all start? Do you sneak in some September or stick with October only? I do a Spooky Season project rather than October Daily which gives me room to run right into November. And I'm big on preludes so I don't mind including autumny things happening when it's still full-on summer like my first Starbucks trip for a fall menu drink. I'm pretty flexible.

Mintopía have revealed the paper pack for Witch, the new Halloween collection designed by Wilma Moon. And I'm in cutesy pastel spooky heaven! The pastel skeletons, the mint paper with the icons, the lilac wood pattern, that wallpaper print. Spain is winning the EuroScrap Halloween game hands down. They've been nailing the trends for several years now. Serena Bee would be all over this. ETA: Are those cat AND dog ghosties I'm spotting? 😱

Did you see the stamp market sneaks? www.instagram.com/reel/CwgwDptKPH2/?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==It’s very similar to last year which I used and loved. I also watched the Tim holtz video and loved everything even though it’s not my style. His makers always do the coolest things. Today I’m going to watch the stamping video he has and see what projects they made.

I got some chipboard to make a cover for the OD album I made a few years back. Now I just need to choose/find a paper or fabric to go over it. Baby steps

I think what I want to work on this weekend is going through the Crate Paper Hey Pumpkin digitals I bought and print and cut out the ones I want to use.
I have some screenshots in my phone where people have done some cool stuff with this line and I want to recreate it.
I also HAD TO HAVE the vellum ghosts from the Heidi Swapp line and never used them. I'm really at a loss for ideas.

I love that! I think I actually have a similar ribbon, pink with polka dots from an Etsy order. It’s sari silk ribbon, iirc.

laylebymail.com/collections/frontpage/products/spooky-mini-book-project-kit?rs_oid_rd=1099511650752I think I’m going to order this mini book project kit for my October occasionally. I ordered a mini book project kit from her earlier this year and felt it was a good value since it included a 6x8 album and a 3 hour class and step by step instructions. The interactive folio album is very interesting. I love the idea of having a completed album ready to go before the month starts without having to come up with design ideas. I can just focus on the photos/stories. Was looking at her December Documented kit as well. I really like her style of scrapping/memory keeping. I'm just not great at detailed journaling. Her list ideas are really fun.
I'll go to Starbucks for some kind of PSL when our fall menu drops (should be in early September). If it makes you feel better, you live closer to a Starbucks than me! We have a local coffee shop (in small town Utah!). Last year, they had a menu of fun names. I decided, I'm going to put on my big girl panties and try them all. Chai tea latte is usually my go to drink. I'm still very oblivious to all the coffee/tea things but that feels fall-ish to me. One of them had lavender. They are also VERY into Edgar Allan Poe and The Raven in terms of themes this year. I didn't buy any of that, but there is a cool black cat free-standing shelf I have my eye on. If I had a dedicated scrappy space, I would use it for supplies. www.michaels.com/product/ash-tt-cat-shadbox-decor-10718838So many possibilities with that shelf!
I'm loving the look of the cute pastels, but the older I get the more I like the darker looking Halloween themes. Maybe it's because I'm over using the cute Halloween items from my kids' younger years.
I ordered photos for nine years of Halloween costumes of my youngest child. When I was uploading them, I forgot about a few other activities we did those years as well. Then there was the years where the costume from school, didn't make it for trick or treating; thus two costumes.
SO, in addition to those, I ordered photos for an Arsenic and Old Lace play (I'm actually in the photo!), the silent movie where there was an organist playing the music, and some other misc. stuff.
I now own two Barbie doll heads from Dollar Tree. I'm still collecting ideas on how to make them creepy doll head tree toppers. Creepy dolls seem like a fun theme this year. I need to stay away from Dollar Tree videos. I really want to find a mini dollhouse that was turned into a haunted house.
I know there is no way I'm going to do 31 days of October Daily, but we'll see where this ends.
ETA: I'm getting excited for some fun things this fall. I really want to go to the old theater near-ish to me and see some fun Halloween movies.

I watched Ali’s Halloween unboxing video and I love it! I think the price point is great and the mix of supplies are fun. I still have last year’s kit sitting on my shelf, completely unopened, but I’ll probably buy the new kit, too.

I need to stay away from Dollar Tree videos. I know! They are so good. I watched Ali’s Halloween unboxing video and I love it! I love every last bit of it. I also got the kit last year and didn't use much of it, although I love it. I feel like my brain had decided what it wanted to do before the AE kit arrived so it didn't fit. Now that I have had time with the supplies I'll be using more of it this year.

I was looking around for spooky things to scrap my September DL trip to see the Halloween-y things.. and ohhhh boy the monster mash line from Echo Park this year is IT! This paper specifically made me put an order in for the kit + some extra papers. I mean JUST LOOK AT IT 😍 So while I'm not doing an OD this year I'll still be scrapping spooky szn stuff along with the rest of you lol

I ordered an iced pumpkin cream chai latte this afternoon, on behalf of you all. It was a bit sickly, a lot of spice and syrup and (oat)milk and ice. Meh. It was fine but I'm not in love. I'm not big into syrups in general so maybe I should've known that this wouldn't do much for me.
I can't get my head around the apple flavored coffees so I guess next time I might just get a regular chai or a pumpkin cream cold brew and a baked apple danish. I did appreciate the iced option - it's humid today and I was feeling gross and sweaty. Found a note in my 5 year journal that the fall drinks started a week earlier this year than last.

I always ask for half the amount of syrup at coffee shops. Especially Starbucks. It’s the perfect sweetness for me then. Maybe still a little sweet but I like a treat.

I had a pumpkin foam cold brew today to see if it's maybe the pumpkin cold foam that was the problem but it seemed a lot more balanced between the sweet/spice and bitterness of the coffee.

This is more about content than product, but has anyone tried this AI generated "Tim Burton-izer" pet portrait service? illustryai.com/products/burtonI'm sure there's probably a filter somewhere that can do this, but Facebook served this up to me and I kind of want to do it for my October album.

This is more about content than product, but has anyone tried this AI generated "Tim Burton-izer" pet portrait service? illustryai.com/products/burtonI'm sure there's probably a filter somewhere that can do this, but Facebook served this up to me and I kind of want to do it for my October album. I did an AI Halloween portrait of the family dog in NightCafé recently. I used a temporary email address to create the free account with which you get 10 tries. I *think* I finally got the "correct"/winning portrait after 6 or 7 tries. I believe I had to be quite precise to get the right coat for the dog. My final text prompt was (I'm pretty sure): "A fawn-haired chihuahua as a character in a Halloween cartoon." And I used the SDXL 1.0 model with the NightCafé preset. The image is on my laptop so I'll pop in later tonight to show it. It's not actually Luna's AI portrait but everyone who saw it thought it was. Use multiple throwaway accounts in incognito mode (cleaning your cookies in between new accounts) with temporary email addies until you get the right generated portrait for free. With the basic free account, the portrait quality is good enough for a print up to 6x6. 😉 ETA: Obviously, not as cool as the Tim Burton portraits but worth a try for free!

Thanks for the NightCafe tips, sleepingbooty. I will do some experimentation and I would love to see the portrait you made of Luna!
