We have another requesting speedy trial, but wants to be severed from Chesebro and Powell. John Eastman, a former attorney for Donald Trump, has asked Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee to sever his case from co-defendants seeking a speedy trial. *** "In considering this motion to sever, the critical factor is preserving Professor Eastman's right to effective assistance of counsel," a motion filed by Eastman's attorneys said. "Proceeding to trial in a major RICO case six weeks after indictment obviously does not give sufficient time to prepare for trial." "Dr. Eastman is currently in the middle of a disciplinary trial before the State Bar of California. Such trial is not scheduled to be complete until late September or early October," the filing added. "For the foregoing reasons, defendant John Eastman respectfully requests this Court sever his case from those defendants who have demanded a speedy trial," the motion concluded. www.rawstory.com/john-eastman-georgia-speedy-trial/

His words are going to reinforce his guilt.. Different indictment I know, but: You or I or anyone else found stealing Nuclear documents would be sitting in jail, bail denied, while waiting for trial IN JAIL. Ask Jack Teixeira. So, tell me again how he can’t do whatever he wants? It appears he can. It’s not that I think Teixeira should be out of jail, but that once they found Nuclear secrets Trump should have been remanded to custody. I’m getting very tired & disgusted with this 2 tiered Justice situation.

Fani Willis responds to Jim Jordan demand for her to provide records etc to his Judiciary Committee .. *** Just a blurb from her letter: With regard to her filing under the RICO statute, Willis made a point of reminding the blustery Ohio Republican that he never passed the bar after attending law school, writing that he can still continue his education by purchasing legal expert John Floyd's RICO book "for the non-bar member price of $249." www.rawstory.com/jim-jordan-fani-willis/

It didn't seem likely that the judge would grant Meadow's request, but I'm happy it was denied. And the judge rejected the argument that Meadows was acting in his role as Chief of Staff. www.nytimes.com/2023/09/08/us/mark-meadows-georgia-federal-court-denial.htmlJudge Denies Meadows’s Request to Move Georgia Case to Federal Court Moving the case to federal court would have given Mark Meadows, a former White House chief of staff, one key advantage: a jury pool that was more favorable to Donald J. Trump.
Georgia prosecutors leading the criminal election interference case against former President Donald J. Trump and 18 of his allies notched a victory on Friday when a judge rejected an effort by Mark Meadows, Mr. Trump’s former White House chief of staff, to move his case from state court to federal court.
Mr. Meadows would have faced the same state felony charges had his case been heard by a federal judge and jury, including a racketeering charge for his role in what prosecutors have described as a “criminal organization” that sought to overturn Mr. Trump’s 2020 election loss in the state. But removal to federal court would have given him key advantages, including a jury pool that was more favorable to Mr. Trump.
Conducting a trial in federal court would have also increased the likelihood that the United States Supreme Court, a third of whose members were nominated by Mr. Trump, would ultimately get involved in the case.
The setback for Mr. Meadows came in the first of many rulings that are expected for the defendants who are seeking to have their cases moved out of state court. Mr. Trump has not filed for a removal to federal court, but he is widely expected to do so.
But Judge Jones decided that the actions ascribed to Mr. Meadows in the indictment were not within the scope of his federal duties.
The evidence, he ruled, “establishes that the actions at the heart of the state’s charges against Meadows were taken on behalf of the Trump campaign with an ultimate goal of affecting state election activities and procedures.”

Chesebro/Powell trial moving forward.... Chesebro and Powell both moved for a speedy trial after being charged alongside the former president in Georgia for an alleged conspiracy to overturn the state's election in 2020. Despite both Chesebro and Powell seeking to sever their cases from one another, they both got stuck going to trial together and ahead of other defendants. "Fulton County Superior Judge Scott McAfee on Friday ordered subpoenas sent to 900 potential jurors in the Atlanta area ahead of next month's scheduled trial for Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell, two former election attorneys for Donald Trump." The report states that the "Chesebro-Powell trial is set to begin Oct. 23 amid heightened concerns about security threats to the jury, as well as the prosecutors who brought the case against the former president and his associates." *** "McAfee ordered the subpoenas sent in two batches: 450 subpoenas for jurors to appear on Oct. 20, and another 450 for Oct. 27."These prospective trial jurors will complete, under oath, juror questionnaires to be prepared by the court and returned to the jury clerk before leaving," McAfee wrote, according to the report. www.rawstory.com/powell-chesebro-jurors/

Former DOJ Jeff Clark has a tale to tell.. Trump DOJ Official Jeff Clark Claims President Had ‘Unqualified and Illimitable’ Right to Deputize Him in 2020 ElectionClark also told a federal judge that he got it wrong in denying former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows a federal court transferPublished 09/15/23 10:51 AM ET|Updated 8 hr ago Former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark argued on Friday in a court brief that then-President Donald Trump had the "unqualified and illimitable" right to change Clark's job description to advance his goal of overturning the 2020 election results. *** In seeking to transfer the case into federal court, Clark pushes for an expansive vision of executive power, arguing that his actions involving the 2020 election became part of his official duties the moment that Trump said that they were. "Under the U.S. Constitution, the President of the United States, not the Attorney General is the chief law enforcement officer under the Take Care Clause because he alone is head of the entire Executive Branch," Clark's attorney Harry W. MacDougald wrote in an 18-page legal brief submitted ahead of Monday's in-person hearing. "The Constitution vests all Federal law enforcement power and prosecutorial discretion in the President," MacDougald added. "The President’s discretion in these areas has long been considered 'absolute,' and his decisions exercising this discretion are presumed regular and are generally deemed non-reviewable." *** In his brief filed Friday, Clark contends that Jones, a Barack Obama appointee, got the Meadows case wrong. The brief said Jones should not have set up "mini-trials" for Meadows, Clark, and three other defendants seeking a federal transfer. TFG another lawyer is gone. Considered the most competent... Rolling Stone reported Friday that Drew Findling, known as the "Billion Dollar Lawyer," is the latest attorney to leave former President Donald Trump's legal team. Rolling Stone notes that Findling's departure is being met with "dismay," and is leaving Trump World confused about whether the legal team was in disarray again. Several high-ranking members of Team Trump [asked] one another why the ex-president would ditch someone who was internally viewed as perhaps Trump’s single most competent attorney," said Rolling Stone. "Findling was in the middle of leading the legal defense against the one prosecution that is likely the most perilous for Trump — and the lawyer was replaced just as the former president was about to have his historic mug shot taken in Georgia." Three sources with information about the departure told Rolling Stone that it was all about the "same kind of power struggles that have long plagued Trump’s legal teams, even (or, especially) during times when Trump is trying his hardest to stay out of prison." In the past, several lawyers left due to internal battles with longtime Trump adviser Boris Epshteyn. The longtime Trump ally is both a strategist and sometimes serves as "in-house counsel." But he has been responsible for several lawyers leaving and being side-lined. www.rawstory.com/trump-loses-another-lawyer/

This article may be more related to the DC case led by Jack Smith. Has TFG violated his bail? Donald Trump on Friday suggested a retiring general might deserve the death penalty, prompting some to say he went too far and others to ask if the former president violated his court-ordered conditions for release.*** Conservatives including fellow GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie weighed in on that controversial statement. *** Now, reporters, ex-prosecutors, and political operatives are asking the bigger questions about whether Milley is connected to Trump's court cases. If so, some onlookers posit, Trump may be subject to consequences in the courtroom, or potentially jail. Kyle Cheney, a senior legal affairs reporter for Politico, asked the question on Saturday. "One question I have about Trump’s overnight attack on Milley: Is he on the government’s witness list for Trump’s DC trial?" he asked. "He was a key Jan. 6 committee witness who said Trump privately admitted losing the election." He followed-up with some context: "The reason it matters if Milley is a potential trial witness (which Trump would know based on discovery) is the part of his release conditions in which he specifically swore not to tamper with or intimidate witnesses."Tristan Snell, a former assistant attorney general in New York, also weighed in. "My bet: Donald Trump is threatening General Milley because General Milley is on the government's witness list for the trial in the Mar-a-Lago documents case," he wrote. Political commentator Lindy Li called it the "million dollar question." "Given Trump’s latest and most deranged bout of stochastic terrorism, is General Milley on Jack Smith’s witness list?" she asked on Saturday. "If so, is anyone finally going to do anything about Trump’s persistent and dangerous witness tampering?" Even George Takei made the connection between Milley and the witness lists."Gen. Milley is a patriot who served his country honorably all his career, instead of claiming bone spurs," Takei said. "He’s also likely a witness in the many trials of Donald Trump, including as the alleged author of the top secret Iranian War Plan that Trump waved around to brag and boast to civilians about how special he is. Trump attacks him at his peril, and likely in violation of court orders not to threaten or intimidate witnesses." www.rawstory.com/donald-trump-bail-violation-question/

They would fear for their and their families lives. It’s too bad he wasn’t called out and made to pay for stuff years ago. It’s amazing the stuff he has gotten away with for decades. At this point it’s sort of like trying to put toothpaste back in the tube. At the same time at one point he is going to be found guilty and have to face some serious consequences and I fear what his followers will do. It would have been better if it happened years ago. I fear that it will make the riots of 2020 and 1/6 look like nothing.

Georgia Judge Scott McAfee has ruled no info on the jurors will be released!! Judge Scott F. McAfee has decided that previous threats on the Georgia special grand jury that encouraged Donald Trump's indictment were enough to protect jurors in the upcoming trial, NBC's Katie Phang reported. In a ruling Monday, McAfee ruled that no identifying info of jurors and even prospective jurors will be disclosed to the public. Jurors will only be identified by number. No other personal information such as addresses, drawings or photos will show what the jurors look like. There also won't be any disclosure of responses from juror questionnaires or notes, unless permitted by McAfee. www.rawstory.com/trump-jurors-shielded/

TFG is trying to have his 'perfect' call with Raffensperger suppressed.. Former President Donald Trump has maintained that he did nothing wrong during his now-infamous early January 2021 phone conversation with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger — a conservative Republican who has pushed back against Trump's false claims of a stolen election. Publicly, Trump has stuck with his claim that the call was "perfect" and that he broke no laws when he asked Raffensperger to "find" him votes. But according to reporting from journalists Adam Rawnsley and Asawin Suebsaeng in an article published by Rolling Stone on September 27, Trump has had a different type of argument behind closed doors. Privately, they report, Trump has been furious with Raffensperger for making a recording of their call publicly available. And he wants to see his "perfect" call excluded from being used as evidence.Rawnsley and Suebsaeng report, "In private, sources familiar with the matter tell Rolling Stone, the former president sounded a different tone about the conversation, asking his attorneys to draw up proposals for how to suppress its use in the criminal case against him." www.rawstory.com/trump-has-fought-hard-to-suppress-his-perfect-call-to-ga-secretary-of-state-report-2665746191/

In the MAL documents case TFG is asking for a three month delay from the May trial date.. (remember US District Court Judge Cannon).. Special Counsel Jack Smith pushed back Wednesday on an attempt by former President Donald Trump to secure a months-long delay to his classified documents case.Smith was responding to Trump’s legal team claiming that deadlines for pre-trial hearings should be extended so that they have time to deal with legal matters that had arisen, including an application for a protective order relating to Trump’s comments regarding witnesses and jurors. *** Smith said that Trump’s arguments, “overstate the complexity of anticipated pre-trial discovery litigation, and are meritless in any event.” He went on, “The defendants already have more than sufficient discovery to provide the Court with a description of the type of information they consider relevant and helpful. The defendants’ motion can and should be denied on this ground alone.” www.rawstory.com/trump-classified-docs-2665748009/

Former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark has lost his bid to have his charges in Georgia removed to federal court, reported The Washington Post on Friday. The decision, made by Judge Steve C.
