I was hoping you'd come back from vacation with good news about the job you applied for. I still have no answer on the job. I'm really leaning toward no. But we will see. My damn coworker is still being a pain in the ass though. I was to work on a particular financial problem yesterday and get a spreadsheet to the group. I messaged them early yesterday afternoon in teams and said that it was taking longer than anticipated. Well clearly she didn't see that message. Because when I logged in at 7 this morning I got a scathing message from her on how she needs this spreadsheet like ASAP. I replied to her that I sent a message yesterday about it and that she would have it by lunch today. She replied sheepishly that she didn't see the message. 🙄 Anyway it's before 11 am and I sent it over a little bit ago. Note: if she wanted to step up and do the work she totally could have. How was your vacation? I hope it was wonderful. (I'm sorry if you spoke about your vacation already, I didn't see a thread)

I was hoping to see that things were getting better or that you heard about the job . I hope you find something. This has been going on for too long. I hope you had a nice vacation.

My vacation was just a staycation. So it was just relaxing at home. Truthfully I didn't realize just how much work was stressing me out. It's funny because when I read back this thread, I'm like, of course all that has been stressful. But sometimes you don't always see it when you're in it.
With that said, I have a work who is encouraging me to file the complaint anyway. After I told him about the incident this week, he was like, you need to do it. I haven't decided but I'll tell you that I finally typed it all out. All 11 pages. Yes, it took me 11 pages to write out my entire story. But I did it. I also filled out the form. I will hold it until I make a decision but I feel a bit pressed. I just want to wait a bit longer and see if there are any more changes.

Always go with your gut. if you feel pressed, then listen to that and hold until your gut says it's the right time. But 11 pages is VALID, listen to that too.
You can always do the exercise of asking yourself what do you want to happen if you submit the complaint? is that action valid/realistic? not saying you need to voice it to anyone but your own head/Jeremy but sometimes that helps me sort out if I'm acting out of anger or out of a real sense of no something can be done about this.

OK, so I got a call from the person who was doing the hiring on the job I interviewed for last month. He told me that they decided to go in a different direction, however, they have another position that will be posted soon that he thinks would suit my skill set better. He proceeded to tell me about the job and how he thinks my strengths will help me in this job. Part of the procedures for this team would need to be crafted and developed by lead (me) and then I would need to create a team to carry out the work. This sounded very interesting to me and I enjoyed hearing how he thought my skills would be more suitable for this particular position. And then he said, once it's posted, read the position description and reach out to him with questions. He said that he can't do anything inappropriate and that I will have to bring my A-game to the interview, but he would like to be able to answer any and all questions I might have in regard to the position so I can go into the interview well prepared. He said he understands if the position just doesn't appeal to me or if I've decided to stay where I am, but he wanted me to know that he thinks I would be a great addition to his team and he would like to see me interview. So that sounded very positive and made me feel really good today. The job does sound interesting and would definitely provide me with the growth that I'm looking for and I also like the idea of being involved in creating the team and the procedures for accomplishing what we are tasked with.
In other news, I also applied for another job yesterday. This would be less finance/budget related and back to my accounting roots, however, in a management role. I know the people hiring so I think I have a very good chance of getting an interview for that position, as well.
No comment on how things are going in my current job.

. jeremysgirl - When DD interviewed with her current company for a position, she didn't get the job. A week later they called her and told her why she wasn't a fit for that position, but said another one had opened up and they felt she was a good fit and asked her to apply. She did and has been there for almost 9 years now! I'd say the odds are in your favor!

Sounds like really positive phone call. Which job sounds best to you, at this point? It's nice to have choices and I think that you have some good change coming. This is a good way to end a work week.
