Poor Britney. If only she had people in her life that helped her look out for her best interest like Taylow Swift does.

She’s been an “it thing” for nearly 20 years. Try again. Do we say this about male performers? Exactly what I meant when someone else said she was the “flavor of the month” so derogatory

I think it's mindblowing that a little girl took her guitar and dreams and turned them into a billion dollars. To sit and really think that it all goes back to a little girl who basically started with nothing - no nepotism or inside connections... just hard work, talent, and tenacity; and parents who fostered her dream. And now she's a billionaire. I often wonder how it must feel to be her parents, how incredibly proud they must be. Exactly. And she’s likable, inspiring, and wholesome. All the things people dog on other female performers for (Cardi B is vulgar, j lo shows too much skin, Madonna is too plastic, etc). Women just can’t win. Some women will always find a way to tear other women down

So she says. She also started she didn't need a conservancy because she was able to perform and make music the whole time, so which was it? I wouldn't put much stock on what the poor girl says about it, honestly. She's free now and it shows.

A chunk of the people in this country have this need to know every little thing their chosen “celebrity” does. They aren’t content to just listen to them sing or watch actors latest movie. Nope that’s not good enough. They want to know everything.
And there are those who bend over backwards to make sure the public knows every little thing about the chosen “celebrity” through social media or tv shows and however else they do it. And they make money doing it.
And right now the “celebrity” getting way to much attention is Taylor Swift. It’s almost like they think she walks on water.
Just now on Instagram there was a reel of Ryan Reynolds walking down the street in NY. A photographer or somebody took the video as Reynolds walked toward him. And he thanked him. Then he put the video of Ryan Reynolds walking down the street. Wow headline news there Ryan Reynolds walked down a street.
But here’s my question. Why can’t Ryan Reynolds walk down a street without someone taking a video and posting it on social media? Why can’t Taylor Swift watch a football game without it becoming headline news? Why do people need to see her current boyfriend open her car door for her?
I don’t get it.
But there are always more to the story.
Ben Affleck gave an interview for something and in it he talked about “celebrity” and the fact he personally doesn’t like it but it’s almost necessary so they don’t play to empty rooms.
So apparently I’m in the minority because I support actors and singers based on their content of acting/singing and the occasional interviews I watch. I don’t need to see them at sporting events or walking down a street or who their current significant other is.

It's celebrity worship. Like I said pages ago, some of the Taylor fans are the problem. And that's true with every celebrity. Stalking their every move, obsessing over everything that they do. Every celebrity has their share of obsessed fans. I can't imagine what it's like to be that famous. Honestly, it does not seem fun at all.

I've name dropped on 2 peas before about how Trae Crowder's brother was one of my husband's best buds, and they all grew up together. Well the receptionist on the college campus where he used to work a few years back was Taylor's mom's best friend. She's talked about how cute Taylor was growing up and was always a sweet child.

Exactly what I meant when someone else said she was the “flavor of the month” so derogatory And she's been in the industry - successfully, so - much longer than a month! DD's and I are not Swifities, but I do admire her talent, image, and business acumen.

I am not a fan of TS, and by that I mean that her music is not a style that I listen to. I doubt I could name even one of her songs! But I admire her talent and her success, and that she seems so likeable and inspiring. Her rabid Swifties are another thing, though..... some of those people are psycho!

This is AP… ”Will Taylor Swift be at the Chiefs' game in Germany? Travis Kelce wouldn't say” Why would AP think this is newsworthy? Oh right because people feel they must know every single thing this woman does. Because they aren’t satisfied just listening to her sing. x.com/ap/status/1720629839776858157?s=61&t=j45uMgNk1i8O0YllKF58nw

That makes about much sense as the 49ers who won 13 consecutive games at the end of the 2022 season and the beginning of the 2023 season. The rookie quarterback who was picked dead last in the draft won his first 8 games. And now they have lost three games in a row and each worse than the last one. It’s more like on any given Sunday then oh if so and so isn’t there they will lose for sure. It isn’t just the quarterback that seems to be missing but the entire team seems to be absent. Maybe they are waiting for Taylor Swift to come to a game to send them back to their winning ways. Or maybe it really is just “On any give Sunday” for both teams.

Here's my take, as a Swift fan who lives in KC, but is not a Chiefs fan. The media has been absolutely crazy about it, which, even after the first game? Sales on Kelce's jersey increased over 400% and local businesses started selling Taylor + Kelce mash ups. Even my pediatrician's office had a Taylor + Travis pumpkin win their contest this year. I do not think we need to know her (or his) every move, but it is fun. I usually don't watch the Chiefs games, but I've been watching. 1- because I wanted to see what people were complaining about after the first game 2- because I absolutely knew what the online trolls would say and they absolutely did/do 3 - my Dad is a Chiefs fan and, as I mentioned before, he's becoming a fan of T-Swizzle after all the hype, which I am 100% in favor of. Whether or not you care about "celebrity", it's fun in a world that is increasingly darker. My anxiety is through the roof, but for a little bit, I can just shake it off. Do I believe her presence at the game will help them win? No, but people who play sports have all sorts of superstitions and have forever. For the record, I don't condone stalkers and crazies. I knew of a local woman who stalked a KC Chik-fil-a because she knew Kelce went there sometimes. That's bonkers and an absolute waste of time.

Correlation does not equal causation but it’s fact that the Chiefs have won when she’s there and lost when she’s not and Kelce’s individual stats are dramatically better when she’s there. It’s sports, not hard news. I don’t know what you expect.

I can't imagine what that must be like for her. It can't be fun to feel like you are stalked like prey. I really wish people would have some self-reflection and think about what that must be like for her. Or any celebrity. If you see them, fine. But please don't chase them down.

I liked your post and this made me chuckle - it is the only Taylor Swift song I know so I really hope you did that on purpose. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) I have never been a big celebrity watcher - not against it but it just isn't my thing. However I did read a bit about Taylor because of her awesome success and I just wanted to understand it a bit better. Taylor and Kelce seem like genuinely nice people and seem to be having a good time together and I really don't get the hate or whatever you want to call it. If you don't like them, turn the channel, scroll down or watch a different video. It really isn't hard to just move on by if it really does bother you. Even after looking up some info on her, my feed has not had a single suggestion to watch a Taylor video. As for the stalkers - yeah those folks are absolutely crazy and I am sure they are on the watch list of their security folks!!

About 10 million extra people are watching a certain nfl game if she’s there - that’s why it’s newsworthy. As much as a certain demographic wants to scream who cares - ummm a whole lot of people. If you’re not one of them stop clicking the links to voice your displeasure - the bots will just keep sending you more info on them.

Our elementary school did a Halloween Parade and there were more than a few Taylor's and Taylor/Kelce's. It's just fun. Until people try to pee all over it. ETA. That makes about much sense as the 49ers who won 13 consecutive games at the end of the 2022 season and the beginning of the 2023 season. You're right, makes no sense. Makes no sense to say you can't shave during the playoffs, or that you have to wear your favorite socks on game day, or you have to.... it makes no sense but sports is replete with superstition/ritual and winning. People love rituals and attribute those rituals to wins/loses. Not just this situation and not just this one sport.

I think the fans just like the idea of Taylor Swift at their team’s games more than any superstition notions. ETA I see the Chiefs won their game in Germany and Taylor Swift wasn’t there.
