Can save the world?
Why was the fact that she is dating some football player such a big freakin' deal? She will date him for a few months and then they will break up.
Now there is an article that says that if she were President that she could reunite the country!
Next they will say she can bring peace to the Middle East.

She's flavour of the month, it's nothing to take seriously. An article is just someone's opinion after all.

I’m thinking those ”articles” aren’t real news.
People like a hero to look up to in this celebrity crazed world. She’s a pretty girl with a ton of money and beautiful clothes who seems to try to do the right thing for her employees. That’s all I’ve got.

She is also very good to her fans. Other than boy friends she generally does not make the gossip sites.
She is an excellent business woman or hires those who are!

I think it relates to her Instagram post that resulted in 35,000 young people registering to vote.

Can she save the world? No. But she has a massive platform and she's using it for good - getting young people to register to vote. She's a savvy business woman and, by all reports, treats her employees very well. Much better role model for young women than many others we could point to.

Ha. I actually don't think she can save the world, but I can tell you I am a big fan. If other celebrities would do what she has done. The world would be a better place. Like someone up above noted about the getting people to sign up to vote, encouraging people to vote, that in itself is a big thing.
Not only is she pretty...which is not the 1st thing I would list. She writes all her songs, finds all her producers, and handles all her own business. She has made billions of dollars from her investments. She is great to her fans, and great to her employees. Gave all her truckers on her Eras tour big bonus's.
I think people are fascinated with her dating Travis Kelce because he too is big time. He's won 2 super bowls. he is very well liked. He has his own money, own career. He is a athlete, not a singer, or actor, which is predominantly who she has dated. AND we all know her dating history, because she writes songs about it. So of course people are entertained by that.
If you don't like her, fine. We all don't like the same things. I hate country music, and in general most country singers these days for their Maga political views. I like Taylor for her indep, strong women views.

She is an absolute pro at using the media and social media to keep her name in the spotlight.
I have nothing against TS, but also am not a “fan.” That said, I am going to see the concert in a movie theater on Sunday. She is a cultural phenomenon who makes a positive influence on the world in general, and I enjoy keeping up on some of it.

She might not be able to save the world, but pumping $90 billion into the world's economy from her Eras tour goes a long way toward improving it. Also, it doesn't hurt that she makes thousands (millions?) of little girls (and other fans) giggle with pure joy and happiness. What a great role model for them - she doesn't dress or act like a skank; she's kind; she has and shows off strong female friendships; doesn't do drugs; hasn't been whisked off to rehab; is a brilliant businesswoman... I guess if anyone has a shot at changing the world it's Taylor Swift.

I would MUCH rather have my daughters look up to her (and they do) than any Kardashian person in a million years. They think she can do no wrong. And really, she is a strong business woman, strong views, talented in many ways (sing, dance, write, perform, act) I totally like she is all over the news. I would rather her date a non-Chiefs person though.. haha. (I do like Kelce though) I actually had a friend on FB and every time I mentioned TS (either like going to the concert or whatever) she came on there and just bashed away. I had to finally delete her as a friend because she couldn't get over her and I never understood the hate she had for her. I mean yeah if you don't like her fine, she isn't for everyone, but to bash bash bash her again and again I don't understand that.

Every city that she tours through makes millions in revenue off of her. I've heard that cities are begging her to schedule tours with them.

I think stuff like she’s gonna “save the world” is mostly said/written in a tongue-in-cheek spirit and I doubt there are many who TRULY believe that, however…
I was pretty damn impressed that she gave a $100K bonus to each of the employees who drove the trucks during the Eras tour. She is known to be very generous and respectful with regard to her employees, and I have yet to hear anything said about her to the contrary.
As others have said, using her platform for good and encouraging young people to vote - regardless of who they vote for - is something that will only be good for society. The more people involved in their communities and informed as to what is going on in the world around them, the better off we will all be.
I’m more surprised every day by those I’ve seen in the media and on SM who have such an issue with her popularity and revert to some pretty hostile tactics to try to undercut her reach as an influencer. It’s silly and a bit sad, but some are awfully threatened.

A friend of mine keeps posting memes on Facebook about being tired of hearing about Taylor Swift. I have a hard time not pointing out that her memes are just feeding into it!

I just saw a tiktok of a first grade teacher secretly recording a chorus of little girls in her class singing a TS song.
She writes that she's always played instrumentals of TS songs in the background while the class independently worked, but this time a little girl recognized the song and started singing Anti Hero, only to have all the other little girls in class gushed that they loved Taylor and they all started singing while they worked.
Cutest thing ever. @kattk13 is the TT if you want to see it. So freaking cute.

Flavor of the month? She's been doing this since she was....14? 15? It's an expression that means the most popular person at a particular time. Someone else will come along eventually. That's just effing insulting. She's only gotten more and more popular for nearly two decades, and she is only 33. That is a VERY long career in the modern entertainment environment and for it to be a steady upward trajectory is rarer still. Her career is impressive, full stop. Why demean her just because she's not your cup of tea? I like her music just fine but am definitely not a Swiftie. I *am* a huge fan of her as a business person. She's nearly a self-made billionaire (the ethics of billionaires existing are for another post). The way she's circumvented most traditional media outlets for many years now because she's more effective at reaching her fans directly than they are (e.g., promos for the current film which opened to nearly $100 million in ticket sales its first weekend) is fascinating. The Eras Tour looks like it's going to be the highest grossing tour of all time (and that doesn't take into account the resale tickets). The whole Taylor's Version phenomenon - it is *remarkable* what she's been able to pull off there. And she seems to treat her teams well along the way - as others have noted, she gave very generous bonuses to her entire tour company at the end of the first leg of the tour. There's also an older interview with David Letterman where he was laughing about the idea of backup singers/dancers having health insurance like it was absurd and she said, "Well, mine do." and he was absolutely flummoxed. You don't have to like her music but to dismiss her as a passing trend or just a pretty girl with nice clothes is ridiculous.

I admire her because she is such a good business person. She seems to care about others in the industry and makes decisions based on what will be best for all performers, songwriters, etc. rather than what is best for herself.
On a personal level, my son lived on the same dorm floor as her brother at Notre Dame for a couple of years. During graduation week, I got to observe her from afar. The boys had a keg party for their families at the dilapidated house they were living in during their senior year. Taylor came to the party. She looked like she was having a good time, but she managed to stay in the background, even while wearing a leopard print mini dress and stiletto heels. She graciously posed for pics whenever anyone asked, but she definitely didn’t try to be the center of attention. At the actual graduation, she and her parents set in the football stands with everyone else, although I’m quite sure they would have let her and her parents sit in a private suite if they would have asked to do so. I thought it was very sweet that she was so supportive of her brother.

Unfortunately I also see the same dismissive attitude an awful lot these days about a while lots of people/things/etc. To me it seems just a whole lot nicer and more honest to simply say something like “I just don’t get her popularity” or whatever.

I love that she can laugh at herself, and it looks like she is having a good time at her concerts. I love that she is using her platform for good, encouraging young people to register to vote (and vote). She's doing more than some of our elected politicans, IMO. Hell, even the NFL has gotten a boost (not that they needed it) since she's dating TK.
