grammadee and justjac I'm so jealous lol. Have FUN! scrappyrabbit she is beautiful and so many big smiles! I hope you can join one Friday, it would be good to "see" you again Linda the SG sketches are my favs too. Any time I use a sketch from somewhere else, I always say "I wish there were measurements on this" LOL. My scrappy time was not very productive today. I'm determined to learn to use the design space software so I can really use my cricut, and it was very frustrating. I do regret getting rid of my baby bug machine and cartridges lol. My niece and I signed up for a 4 day retreat in April and I want to be pretty comfortable with the app on my ipad by then. So no headway on any pages, but lots of chatting lol.

joyfulnana - learning to use something new IS productive as once you're comfortable with it, then it'll help you work more easily. Have you checked out any youtube videos on Design Space?

Linda, You're right, and that is a much better way to look at it. But it does not feel productive at all in the moment lol. I did watch a few videos, and they have been helpful. Probably the bigger obstacle was that I was cropping with others and not able to concentrate very easily. I want to love this machine lol. And I want to love it before April so that I'll bring it with me. It will cut down on some of what I'll need to pack.

It sounds like a scrappy day for all the Pokeys today. I finished the cards for Card Club this morning. Did most of it last night at the crop. Thanks so much, kitbop, for setting it up. It was so much fun scrapping together again. scrappyrabbit, yes, she is a little darling. What a delightful smile. Thanks for sharing with us. I love her name! I'm glad you are doing well. Rest when you can and enjoy the little things she does. They grow and change so fast. I have spent the day in the shop with DH. He is determined to make some Christmas gifts for those he loves. We have spent 3 days trying to get all the lengths and angles right. His saw can't cut a 56 degree angle so he had to devise a jig that will take part of the degrees, so he can cut the steep angle. He can't read the tape measure or the angles on his miter saw so I set it up and then he does the cuts but we have run into so many problems. I think we finally got it figured out today and everything went together easily. Now he wants to duplicate it. I think we can mark the saw on the next one so he can do the angles himself. If not, I'll spend some time in the shop again next week. Monday is his surgery on the latest skin cancer, so he'll be out of commission for a couple of days.

THANKYOU for the baby pic’s, scrappyrabbit . You spend your time giving her snuggles and taking her photos. Scrapping can come later. We had a busy day today Didn’t get to anything artsy, but finished the 8 kit cards and played with the leftovers. Here I am with my 22 cards

nylene - you and your dh make a good team. Great job on the club cards! grammadee and justjac - those cards look great! Hope you had a fun time assembling them all. I've finished up the gaps in September 2009 so after dinner I can start on the (many) gaps in October 2009...I see some PINK pp in my near future... DD17 had a rather pink 3rd birthday

Thank you for sharing pic scrappyrabbit - she is simply adorable, she look very interested in the world around her! I do hope you can jump in some Friday! justjac and grammadee - I'm jealous of your cards! Now that I'm finished this "chapter" in my scrapbook, I will pack it up and pull out Christmas - first I need to make my cards, and this is the latest I've ever started. But I also thought it would be good to get my Christmas 2017 (journal your Christmas) completed. 6 years is very far to be behind. Linda - I am far from a pink devotee, but I will admit I really enjoyed the dance photos for the freedom of colour it gave me. My next scrapbook "chapters" will be camping, Disneyworld, my Mom's house, and travel related, which will be less flexible for the easy hearts and flowers I used while scrapping dance. Enjoy your glimpse of pink! nylene - oh how I ache for your DH. He is so talented it's just a shame that he cannot freely create anymore. I'm glad you are there to help. I'm sure everyone who gets one of his creations cherishes it. joyfulnana - I still have my baby bug and carts! Dunno why I don't put them up on facebook marketplace and let someone actually use them. I sympathize with the learning curve. I feel like I never really "broke thru" with the cameo, and while I did a fair amount with it I did abandon it eventually. But I do have faith you will get your new bug working for you!

grammadee and justjac, your cards look great! I've got to pull out the card kit I forgot I had lol. How is it that Thanksgiving is in just a couple of weeks and it's still not even really on my radar? I can't seem to get going on any plans for the holidays. nylene, it must be so hard for DH, I can't imagine being a creative person and not being able see to create. I'm glad you are able to help him The weekend with Rudy was really chill, a movie, some games, lots of sugar lol. I dropped him off at his mom's and got to meet his adorable little brother. He has the biggest smiles, and will be a year old next weekend.

nylene , we were just talking on the weekend about how jealous of you we are for being able to go to the AC warehouse sales. Telling each other that all those "savings" (like we really *NEED* more crafting supplies... ) would cover our travel costs, with the bonus of spending time with YOU! So sad that your dh can't create quite the way he would like to, and that he needs more surgery. Hoping all goes well for both of you. joyfulnana , starting with the card kit was a great jumping off point, but it was much more fun when we went rogue and just used the extra supplies and some of our own stash to create our own designs. Even my niece abandoned the on line step by step instructions and put together her cards from the kit pics of their examples. How fun that you got to meet the little guy. I'll bet he was delighted to see big brother come back! kitbop , opening my Christmas cupboard was overwhelming. So many things I would LIKE to do with all that scrappy goodness. Even with cards, although I am 75% finished them, I haven't attempted many of the ones I had on my want-to-try list. Have a few more dies pulled out now, and a printed pic of a sample card from on line I want to attempt with them. Might do some diecutting this morning and tuck the pieces into little cases to keep them separate from each other. And I am behind in starting my Christmas baking. Have fun playing with pink, Linda . I would love to scrap a pink birthday party! Copying pages for the girls' scrapbooks has revealed several over-the-top girlie pages. The youngest girl in our family is 13. No inkling of any great grands on the horizon, but we DID get a test announcing an engagement this past week... Dealing with garden harvest almost complete. Just finished the tomatoes last week and today I need to cook up some of the pumpkins that have ripened in my basement. Dd & dgs are back from visiting dad in Washington, so they will be here for a bit today to pick up their pets. I invited them for supper, but dd has cold/asthma symptoms and doesn't want to remove her mask when she is here.

Wow gramma, impressive showing! I'm gonna tell you they are all fabulous and I can't tell which would be "cheater" layouts or otherwise... I don't think using a kit is cheating, you get brownie points for using what you bought. I'm going to give a shout out to my 2 favourites: Happy Hand (omg, sweetness and perfect colours and how the strip anchor the pictures and pull the eye) and Papa's ride (I am such a sucker for black/red/white and you nailed the colour combo!)

I tried to post my projects here and lost the big post I made. RI will come back and finish the post later. Steve's surgery went well today. They didn't have to do a skin graft after all which cut the surgery time down by an hour. He is stitched all along his upper lip and a line of stitches up on his smile line. He is not in pain and is just very tired.

gramma, what cute pages you have made. I don't know what you mean by "cheating" but I think they are all amazing. They are scrapped and that's the goal! grammadee and justjac, your cards are beautiful. What fun you must have had getting all those cards done. Wish we could all scrap with you two. Linda, how is your DH's eye? I am praying for a good recovery, even if it means a clean-out surgery. Hugs to both of you. kellyr21, do you have an special Thanksgiving plans. It is coming up so fast. I don't know where Nov. went. kitbop, spent some time in the gallery with your dance photos. Can I just tell you that that girl is amazing! You take such fabulous photos and do a beautiful job scrapping them. I'm off to pick up a RX for DH. Hope to get back later tonight.

nylene - I'm glad that Steve's surgery went well. Hopefully you can both get some rest now. No news on DH's eye yet - he goes back on Friday. What lovely pages - you always do a super job journalling! kitbop - I've also been loving the dance pics - I need to get on the sharing thread and comment gramma - wow- you've been productive. I'll echo the others - nothing wrong with using kits - scrapped is good. I love the seashore page and the red/white/black page especially grammadee - I'm actually stalled on the pink birthday - it's just not coming together at all. I have a FB crop tonight so will give it another try - perhaps cutting some embellishments with the Cricut will help joyfulnana - how fun to meet Rudy's brother. It sounds like you had a good weekend. I got loads of scrapping done on Friday night and Saturday but Sunday was a wash and I got nothing done. Ended up sliding halfway under a bed last night to get Mini (older cat) after Chai (new foster cat) chased him hissing and snarling upstairs and under the bed PadBear was already hiding under. My hips/shoulders/back did not like that Looks like DS/DD won't be here for Thanksgiving proper but will come for a couple of days before the end of November. He left Friday on a multi-leg trip only to have leg 2 turn back 2 hours into the flight. They repaired the plane over the weekend and took off again today. But that's likely to delay his return by 2 days also. Better a fixed plane though.

kitbop Linda The Papa's Ride layout is one that would have given Ken the willy-wahs. For the entire time I was married to him he lusted after a 1932 Ford Roadster. They are a pretty pricy car and we just simply couldn't afford one. Finally at a swap meet he found this one, called me and I said do it. I had just gotten an inheritance and chose to spend the $ that way. I often told people that he loved that car more than he did me! It was his baby. He would have had a fit to see the little ones jumping around in it!!

would have given Ken the willy-wahs Here's a phrase I've never heard before! As in: cringing? You should journal that on the page... In other news... guess who tested positive for covid? Mild symptoms only - I'd have gone to work if it weren't a holiday (to make up for saturday Remembrance Day) - but I'm not prone to shortness of breath or chest tightness so I thought I'd check. I can jump on the Wednesday crop this week if you want to host one grammadee

nylene there is love for your pages in the Gallery. gramma, those pages look pretty original to me. Will check them out on Flickr in a bit. I hope that Covid gives you no worse symptoms than you already have, kitbop. I would LOVE to crop with you on Wednesday, but I won't be able to participate. This week dh has included me into his Wednesday appointments. Started out that he booked us for a festive seniors' lunch courtesy of a community agency, which I agreed to. But now he wants to first drop off his truck for servicing and some kind of repair I don't even know if they know how to fix, and then afterward meeting up with a rep from the windmill energy rep. Sounds like a perfect day if he were keeping all those appointments by himself, and I was at home making cards with you...

gramma - I hope you've scrapbooked that story. And like kitbop - that's a new phrase for me - love it! kitbop - I hope you're feeling better soon. Nice seeing you on the crop this morning. grammadee -sounds like a very busy Wednesday for you. ((((Hugs))) I woke up this morning to gorgeous photos from Iceland. DS was only there about 13 hours (overnight) but was able to snap some photos this morning before getting back on a plane. Grey, rainy day here so I'm glad i had the opportunity to scrapbook for several hours.

kitbop , how dare those old Covid bugs catch up to you! I hope the symptoms get no worse and that you will soon be feeling better. Weren't you just commenting that you hadn't decided on the 4th shot but having the disease gives more immunity? Well, someone heard that and is giving you a big dose! Just kidding, of course. Glad you could use the "off work" time to scrap. We started up our old Card Club this morning and it was such a fun morning scrapping with friends. I hope to join the online crop tomorrow and on Thursday I have volunteered to help with a relief society card making class. Three mornings of scrapping with friends! It doesn't get better than that! Linda , thanks for the link to the sketch book on the Sharing thread. Will you get to scrap DS's Iceland photos? Wow!

nylene - I'm so glad that your Card Club is back and running! I hope you're able to join tomorrow - I'm planning to also. And then you have more scrapping on Thursday? awesome. I had a FB crop last night so after tomorrow, I'll also have had 3 days of social scrapping - I love it! I will eventually scrap the Iceland photos but probably not super soon unfortunately. I'm trying to get 2009 finished up plus I'm frozen and I know I'll want to buy some stuff for the Iceland pics so... Hi kellyr21 - Happy Tuesday to you as well!

kitbop ugh sorry about the nasty covid bug you caught! Hope you feel back to normal soon. nylene I love your seasons colliding layout! How cool to live so close to those mountains and witness the changing of the seasons every year. linda I saw all your layouts in the sharing thread. They are so great. I love the one with your daughter helping on the car. We’ve had a busy week here already. Yesterday, the baby had to get a hip ultrasound as a precaution since she was Breech, but luckily the results are normal. We spent the day walking around the beach afterwards which was really nice. Then we also met with the priest about her baptism. Whew it tired me out! Today was a lot more chill.

Today in the online crop, I got my Christmas cards started. I made 5 that are COMPLETE copies of a card Gina K did last year (well, I added a couple of my own touches that I think make them better, but the design is totally hers). They would be easy to mass product. Then I designed one of my own to get my creative juices flowing. It is fussier and would take double the time to produce. Showed them to family and hands down they adore the Gina K one, and want me to focus on it and don't even think I should design any more "prototypes" to audition. I feel like I'm cheating

Thanks scrappyrabbit. You really did have a busy day yesterday - and it seems like everything takes longer with a baby. Glad her hips are ok kitbop - Your cards are NOT complete copies - you personalised them. But even if they were - you're still putting in the work and effort to make them. Definitely not cheating in my book. How many cards do you need? Could you mass produce these ones and then do a smaller number of individual cards for a handful of special people? I have ONE more layout to do to finish up the 2009 family album. Hopefully I can get it done later today - I tried at the end of the crop but I think I needed lunch and a break because it just wasn't coming together -none of the papers I tried worked. Not sure what to work on next. I could work on filling gaps in 2010. I could pick a different year to work on (2012, 2013, 2014, 2021, 2022), I could work on THIS year. Or one of the dozen+ trip albums...

kellyr21, Happy Wednesday to you! How are things in your warmer area of the country? I got another letter from Cindy's Maggie. I love that she will keep in touch. I think of Cindy so often. I'm sure you do, too. How is Ron? You two have avoided Covid haven't you? Hope you both stay well and busy. Take care of yourself! Hugs! scrappyrabbit, you and your little one have been busy. Your energy will come back, but you have to take it easy as it is returning. Glad the hip was OK! Take care of both of you. I look forward to seeing scrappy pages of Serena in a while. kitbop, it is not cheating to make cards using the design of a designer. That's why they post those images. You always add extra little touches of your own. Those of us with less artistic talent than you, (referring to myself here) depend on sketches, pinterest and other online projects. You are too hard on yourself. We need to scold you and gramma for thinking you are cheating!! It was fun chatting with you today. So glad you got so much done. Linda, wow, you have really zoomed through your 2009 album. It sounds like you will not run out of projects, old and new anytime soon. I can't wait to see the Iceland photos scrapped. These are my interactive cards for Card Club yesterday. I think this is the first month for several that I have posted my 4 projects in this thread. I guess I should at least follow my own rules. LOL Birthday pop up cards

Hello everyone, I hope you don't mind, but I am going to join the Pokey Peas group. I missed two significant things that were only posted on the Pokey Peas thread, and I feel really bad that I didn't offer my congratulations and condolences to the lovely people concerned at the time.
This seems like the place to be. So, here I am!
