This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members. If you are on a Team, complete the 4 challenges and post them on this thread for an extra 4 points.

Welcome to the November thread. I am hoping to be more involved this month. It has been fun to watch lots of Trick-or-Treaters coming to our door. We usually don't have many. Luckily DH does the running up and down the stairs to answer the door each time. Those stairs are my nemesis!
We are getting into the very busy holiday season, but I look forward to keeping in touch with each Pokey and learning about what is going on in your world.

Thanks for keeping us going nyleneI'm glad that you had loads of costumed visitors yesterday - and that your DH kept you off the stairs. DD17 had an away meet yesterday after school so wasn't home until after 7. They won though! DH and I set up outside the door with candy and camp chairs and an inflatable cat and light up pumpkin but no one came by

Happy November, Pokeys! Thanks for setting this up each month, nylene. I got to hand out treats at dd's house yesterday evening while she was keeping an eye on him in his trick n treating. It was really fun to see all the costumes--both the elaborate ones and those thrown together at the last moment by kids who *thought* they were too old and cool for this but decided at the last minute that they needed one more year. All the kids were super polite and appreciative. Not as many as expected on that street: the neighbours had told dd to expect up to 200, but I counted only about 80. Today I will be packing up for the weekend crop.

Linda we didn't get any trick or treaters either. Well, we got one young man from the local high school who was collecting non-perishable donations, but he wasn't in costume and didn't take any candy, so I don't count him. nylene and grammadee I'm glad you had some young visitors! Today is a professional development day at work. Report cards are coming out soon, but personally I think the administration didn't want to deal with all the tired sugared up kids. I am going to start packing for the crop tonight. I am going to work on some Christmas cards and maybe an October mini-album. I have some cute fall supplies I'd like to use. I might also do some pages for the plays I've been involved with lately, but we'll see. I can't take all the things!

Oh how I wish we could all be with you justjac and grammadee . Your crop sound wonderful. I miss in-person crops. I hope you have a great time together and that you accomplish a lot of scrapping (and visiting). Linda , sorry you didn't get a few goblins visiting your house last night. I love seeing the costumes, fancy and last minute as grammadee described! We had 50-60 come by. Most we didn't know. Our school Halloween party was fun yesterday. Em had it so well organized with 4 stations: 2 games, cookie decorating and crafts. I helped them made a monster corner bookmark and those that finished made one for the school librarian. With no time or $ for art in school anymore, I was amazed at the lack of dexterity 5th graders had. Even just lining up the corners together was almost beyond some of them. Everything was cut and ready for them. We learned last year that they were very slow at cutting with scissors. I'm afraid we are doing kids a disservice by eliminating arts from classrooms. They seemed to love making the bookmarks. We are off to get our Medicare yearly physicals today.

grammadee - sounds like you had a fun night handing out treats! I love those last minute costumes - I think teens are my favourite trick or treaters. Have fun packing - what are you planning to work on at the crop? nylene - good luck with the physicals. The Halloween party sounds fun. I'm very grateful our local school district still supports the arts - K-5 all rotate through PE, Music, Art, Tech, and Library each week - and there are art/music classes in middle and high as electives as well. They learn so many important skills in the special area classes.

Have fun packing - what are you planning to work on at the crop? At the crop I hope to focus on Christmas cards, and most of what I packed is for that. I have some papers with diecuts & stickers I picked up on sale last January that feel very new and exciting to me, as well as a few new dies to play with. Hoping to complete a bunch of CARDtober challenges, and also give the Justine Hovey 12 Days of Christmas cards a try. Some of those use the Spellbinders' Glimmer System for some pretty foiling effects. I have packed mine, so hoping to give it a workout and get more comfortable using it. But I also plan to print a bunch of photos while I am in town, and have some fall pic's I still want to scrap, so I put together a small bag of supplies to scrap some pages in the hotel room if I am awake before the crop starts. (I usually am, but lately I have been sleeping in more often, so the page production may be iffy.)

Happy November! I hope everything goes well with your physicals nylene. I found out my Dr is leaving the medical group, she doesn't know where she'll land next and I'm being left high and dry to find another Dr. Her patients are not being absorbed by the other doctors, and she said the ones that are left are not taking new patients. I get the impression this was a downsizing, which I had no idea could happen in the health care industry. I just found her this year and I'm not looking forward to finding someone new. I haven't had trick or treaters ever in the 8 years I've been here, but Rudy did get to wear his costume in the school parade and he was adorable lol. I would love to have some trick or treaters. I miss seeing all the costumes. I don't miss in person crops so much, the online crops really fill that for me and no packing lol. Although one of the LSS here puts on 3 and 4 day retreats, and I saw some pictures and video from their last one and it looked like a fun getaway. Speaking of crops, I'll be opening one Friday at 7PM EST - 4PM west coast. justjac, I remember you saying you have a Friday night group, I hope you'll be able to pop to say hi. gramma I hope you'll be able to join, and that your audio gets figured out. I'll post the link here in the thread. I can't believe the holidays are here again already. This year really has gone by so quick.

sounds like you have a good crop plan grammadee - have fun! joyfulnana - I've added your crop to my calendar and have pulled out some 2009 photos to work on. Friday's dinner is leftover from tonight so hopefully I can get away with a slightly early dinner. I'm sorry about the doctor situation - that's a pain. Good luck finding another new one you like.

joyfulnana, I hope to be able to join you on Friday. A close friend just lost her husband and his visitation is that evening. We can also go before the funeral on Sat. so I think we will do that. This is the 2nd time she has been widowed. She is several years younger than I. Breaks my heart. It's hard to lose our neighbors of 50 years one by one. I'm glad Rudy was able to wear his costume. I am so sorry about your Dr. It's so hard to find the right fit with a dr. I'm afraid ours may decide to retire one of these days. Do you have friends who could make recommendations? It seems like word of mouth is often best in choosing. Best wishes. Linda, I read your goals on your Goals thread and it made me tired! You have lots of plans for a busy month. I hope you accomplish everything. How are all the kitties doing? I'm sure your DD is thrilled to have her own kitty. Are your older cats ok with the newcomers? I know you are keeping them somewhat separated. I hope they will all love each other. grammadee and justjac, I hope you have a wonderful time together and that you get lots done...and don't forget some important stuff like photos. THat was always my fear. gramma, how are things going with the internet? I hope you can get it working to join the crop on Friday. How is your hand feeling?

nylene - I'm so sorry about your friend's husband. (((Hugs))) Kitties are doing well for the most part -they are separated at night but as of yestserday, they are all together during the day. There have been a few unhappy noises but for the most part, they are all getting along. The three new ones were all in a cattery together (and with plenty of others) at the humane society and are all pretty chill. Dusty is a little jealous, Pad-Bear is a bit hissy but not aggressive, and Mini is mostly chill. I think it's easier to do introductions when all the cats involved have spent time around other cats. DD17 is thrilled except for the part where Dorian wakes up with her alarm clock and meows constantly - she is accustomed to shutting it off and rolling over back to sleep but he's loud enough I can hear him from downstairs.

I am glad Rudy got to wear his costume in the parade, joyfulnana, and that Em's class had a great Halloween party, nylene. So funny about Dorian and your dd, Linda. When our oldest ds went away to University, he picked up a kitten, Benson, from a shelter in the city. Ds was a habitual snooze button hitter, but once the alarm went off, Benson would sit on his chest and bat his nose until he gave in and crawled out of bed LOL. Have my vehicle packed with crop stuff: less than in the past, but still quite a load. No worries about forgetting to bring photos, b/c I will mostly be making cards, but I will have my phone and my camera so can print any I want while in town. In fact I will print all the pic's from last weekend with the kids, as well as hockey pic's from the weekend and earlier and Halloween pic's from this week. Wouldn't it be cool if all the Pokeys could just fly in to one place and we could all play with scrappy supplies together? But failing that possibility the on line crops are the best option. Maybe justjac and I could pop in from the LSS crop on Friday evening? The internet at the hotel is sometimes glitchy, and there would be quite a bit of background noise and/or visual distraction, but maybe we can pop in long enough to say HI! 5:00PM here when you start and that would be a little early, especially for justjac to get there from work, but we will see... (((((Hugs))))) to you and your friend, nylene and for the community. One of the worst parts about aging is losing so many friends.

grammadee I love the idea of you and justjac popping in live from your crop! Which time zone are you in? nylene, I'm sorry for your friends loss. How awful for her. I selfishly hope to see you tomorrow, but if you would rather go to the visitation, you should do that. Linda Dorian Grey reminds of when I first got Abby. And how she would not let me get any sleep and wanted me up at 3 or 4AM lol. Hopefully he will settle down soon. Your house sounds so fun with all the kitties.

grammadee - hopefully yoou and justjac can poke your heads in but if not, we'll know you're with us all in spirit. Dorian is currently not on the list of good kitties. DD17 came downstairs in tears sometime after 1am...he had been yowling at the window since she went to bed and now she had a headache and was tired and he was still yowling. Gave her a hug and advil and collected a cat. No one here slept well last night

Hoping to scrap again later today after I get some chores done - tomorrow is a Girl Scout day so will be gone all afternoon.

Good Saturday morning, Pokeys! Thanks for hosting the virtual crop, joyfulnana. It was great to see you ladies for a few minutes. My start to our in person crop was slow. Got my stuff unpacked and put together a few cads. Still I was exhausted when I got back to my room. This morning in my room I laid out a couple of pages. Need to pick up a couple of supplies from the in-crop store and grab some different glue from my crop bag downstairs before I can complete them. Today I want to get to work with my Glimmer System. If you hear some “#&@%*§!” up north, you will know why. When I need a break from that I will maybe try some fun fold cards with foiled greetings.

Happy Saturday pokeys! It was good to see and chat with you all last night. Thanks for joining me! I was so glad we could hear you gramma . I'm pretty sure between me and kitbop a Friday crop is going to be a regular thing. Linda your helpers were sooo cute! But I'm not sure how you finished anything with all the "help" lol. I think joyfulnana are going to open a Sunday "crop". Mostly so we can watch football together and talk smack ;-_ Yes Ma'am I am! There are 4 game times to choose from lol. I think we ruled out the Chiefs already as too early lol. I will be listening/watching games all day. Let me know what time works best for you. I look forward to the trash talk lol Hopefully I have something to celebrate instead of being mad about a loss lol.

Sometimes technology is not my friend!! It wasn't being my friend last night trying to find the mute button your helpers were sooo cute! But I'm not sure how you finished anything with all the "help" I've been scrapping since DD23 was one and have lots of practise working around 'help' be it toddler or feline. I don't think I'll be able to make the Sunday crop this week - we'll be in the city all afternoon for DD17's Girl Scout meeting and then I have a zoom meeting in the evening. But I'll watch for next Friday!

I really hope to be able to hop on for a regular crop time. gramma, so glad you got your technology working, and Linda, nice to meet Thumper and see Dusty again. grammadee and justjac, thanks for peeking in. I hope you accomplish a lot, but also get some rest. It was a fun and productive crop!

I've been scrapping since DD23 was one and have lots of practise working around 'help' be it toddler or feline. Ahhh that would explain it. Mine were a teen and tween when I started scrapping and we always had dogs. I scrapped on the kitchen table then, from a small case of supplies. Man, that brings back memories. I haven't finished the pages I was working on yet, but will today. My scrap table is the only place she can't get to, but she definitely gets between me and anything else I do around here lol. And this cat didn't care that the clocks fell back an hour, and so I'm up an hour early instead of getting an extra hour sleep lol. That's ok, gives me time to get good and awake before the game starts at 8:30AM lol. gramma I'll start us around noon my time, I have the Rams and Green Bay here And anyone who would like to join in is welcome as always! There may be some football in the background, and possible yelling lol. kellyr21 what types of cooking classes have you been watching? I detest cooking lately, but I do like the Netflix show Is it Cake sometimes lol. I need something to jump start my kitchen mojo lol. nylene I'm so glad you got lots done! It was soo good to see you and Linda and gramma I love that grammadee and justjac popped in. I don't think I really knew how much I miss the crops. Oh, that paper that was in the kit I used, was the Again and Again line from Pink Paislee, which is from American Crafts, I wonder if they would have it at the warehouse sale. I would love to have an AC warehouse here. My wallet would not lol.

Happy Sunday evening, Pokeys! I am home from the crop, exhausted but happy with both the company and what I was able to complete while there. Will be bringing my stuff in from the vehicle tomorrow (thankfully justjac's dh loaded it for me today at the crop). When I get my pages and cards in here I will add journaling to the pages and then take and post pic's.

welcome back grammadeeI have tomatoes cooking down in the crockpot today. I've been working on the big photo labelling project and am back to 1970 - hoping to get that finished this week. I think I need to make a timeline for the 1960s to help with those photos - mum did a ton of travelling, lived in 4 countries, got married...and didn't label nearly enough, lol. We've had to cancel our Thanksgiving trip - DH's eyes simply aren't healing quickly enough for that long a drive. Fingers crossed that they improve before Christmas so we don't have to cancel then also. We've offered to host Thanksgiving here but DS isn't sure whether he can make that happen or not so it's still up in the air. So we may have their kitties (Chai and Thumper) a bit longer than planned.
