I am going to join the Pokey Peas group You're late... (tapping toe annoyedly...) We've been waiting. Well to be fair, up until July this year I didn't fit into the category of a Pokey Pea, because I was getting lots of layouts done. Not so much anymore. And I didn't realise that y'all just sit around chatting, otherwise I would have joined earlier!

Welcome, welcome, AussieMeg. We are so happy to have you join. We have some who are pokey scrappers...but most don't really fit the title category. We have become friends and we don't care how fast or slow you scrap. Just come chat and be part of the group. So nice to have you!

nylene I love the cards! We are trying to take it easy but it’s nice to get out of the house more now. kitbop it’s not cheating at all. You are the one who put the pieces together! linda sounds like you have plenty of photos to keep you busy. Whichever ones inspire you most should be your next project! AussieMeg I wasn’t very pokey when I joined either, but now im extremely pokey 😏

I put together six of these in very little time after watching Iced Images' recent video. I have a photo of the whole group in the Gallery, but that pic turned out kinda dull, when the cards themselves are really fun. Here is a pic of front and inside of one of them.

Welcome, AussieMeg! You're right, this is a great place to hang out. You can craft, or not craft. Chat when you feel chatty. Read & run, or sit down, put your feet up, and relax. Love this place! I had planned to craft today or start my Christmas baking, but didn't sleep well and woke up with a headache. Have taken Advil and aspirin, so the edge is off for now. Decided to just photograph and post the cards I had been putting together in fits and starts all week and turn the pumpkin I was going to bake into a loaf into muffins instead--way less fooling around and measuring (since my muffins always come together by throwing in stuff until they reach a taste and consistancy I like), and way less time baking. Took out some frozen butter and almond paste so I will be all ready for those cookies when I feel better.

Happy Thursday! Waving hi to you all. Not much happening here. Been a slow week. We had rain yesterday but today is back to warmer temps. I am so ready for Fall weather but So Cal still is holding on to Summer. LOL! My dh has been very busy with work but things should slow down next week. He does college recruiting for interns for the company so lots of campus visits, interviews and in-house events. Whew! I tired just describing it all and I didn't even do anything. He is tired but glad to be almost through this season. We hope to both get lots of rest this weekend. Watching another cooking class now. She is making salmon ravioli. Looks good! Yesterday, they made a lite Thanksgiving dinner in an hour. Here is the link to the videos of this class and previous classes. Link Herenylene - I'll trade our weather for yours. Next week will be a quiet holiday for us. No big plans so far. Welcome AussieMeg !

grammadee - love those cards - and bthe snow critters! I hope you're feeling better by now. (((Hugs))) kellyr21 - you watch the most interesting classes. Hopefully fall will head your way soon. It's been cooler (60s and 70s) here and rainy and it's just lovely. Dropping DD17 off for camping tomorrow afternoon so it'll just be me and DH until we pick her up at lunchtime Sunday. I don't know if we have any actual plans or not - probably cleaning the house in preparation for the big kids visiting and grocery shopping. We've had to switch from Wed evenings to Saturday during the day because DH can't drive at night.

Linda, I hope you accomplish all you want over the weekend. Any change in DH's recovery? Where is the camping experience this time for DD? kellyr21, I love all the classes you are taking. My DH would probably love for me to take the cooking classes!! LOL. I'm glad Ron is almost through with his college recruitment. Did he have the big Employment Fair as he has in the past. I hope your weather cools off soon. The big mountain behind us is covered with snow almost halfway down. It may melt off a little, but maybe not. Some of the ski areas are opening this weekend. I'm afraid winter is on the way. I'll send you some cold! grammadee, I love your cards. That's a cute design with the center bear kind of floating on the inside. I have seen those on Pinterest but haven't tried one yet. I love the little critters on your card, they have a Doodlebug look, are they Doodlebug? I hope you are feeling better soon. Your pumpkin baking smells delicious, just reading about it. AussieMeg, it's so nice to see your face popping up. I need to go to the gallery and catch up on your layouts from the last 2 months. I have been pretty flakey this quarter. gramma, any progress on your garage? It's going to be winter soon! We had an appt with the State's Blind program today. We were made aware of things that will help DH to read his tape measure, miter saw angles and other things in the shop. They showed us a CCTV which will allow him to read just about anything...slowly, but reading, and they put him on the waiting list for one! He got pretty teary as the meeting progressed. I think it gave us both a new lease on life. He also qualifies for the Blind and Deaf program which can add other helps. I am so grateful.

nylene - oh how wonderful that there are those things for your dh that will help him continue to enjoy his hobbies! I'm so happy for both of you! DH saw the eye doctor today - no change. He'll go back on Wednesday. DD17 is doing an orienteering campout. The troop will tent camp tonight and tomorrow night at a state park and tomorrow there's a group running an orienteering event there that they'll all participate in. There are different level courses so depending on their experience, the girls won't all be on the same course - DD will be doing the orange course which is intermediates.

Good Saturday morning, Pokeys. I slept in this morning. First really good sleep I have had for a few nights. Thought when I woke up and saw the time that I should be brimming with energy today, but for some reason I am still tired. Go figure. I love the little critters on your card, they have a Doodlebug look, are they Doodlebug? They are some of the Bella Blvd North Pole diecuts I picked up after Christmas last year. I may have mixed in dome of the Spellbinders diecuts I picked up at the same time. They coordinate with some of the Doodlebug pieces I have and the My Favourite Things stamp and die set I found this fall. Those cooking classes sound interesting, kellyr21. And salmon ravioli sounds delicious, but I think I would want someone other than me to make it. We are having a strange weather blip here. All the snow is gone and temps were balmy--10C yesterday & expected to stay the same for at least today. I don't like driving in snow & ice or going outdoors in bone chilling temps, but this is just strange. And the landscape has reverted to a dull brown of dead grass. I worry that our local trees will think it is spring and start the sap running again, just in time for the inevitable hard frost to winter kill them... Yesterday we attended the Celebration of Life for a close friend of dh's. Then dh came home and I headed into a different town for dgs's hockey game. Today, dh has a contractor/handyman coming to start working on putting a new roof on an old shed. I am hoping to watch some of the SCT Crop & Create Holiday classes this morning. This afternoon, dd is bringing dgs to help out with a few out- and indoor chores. They will have supper here and then dd is heading home. Tomorrow I will take dgs to his out of town game and then take him home.

Thanks for hosting us joyfulnana . I really enjoyed crafting with all us and seeing AussieMeg for the first time! I really should have made more of an effort for our first date Linda , I had my daggy doing-the-painting hair and clothes on! Although I could have sworn I've popped into a crop that you were also at, quite a while ago. Maybe not. 🤷♀️ Thank you for hosting joyfulnana , it was lovely hanging out with you all.

I really should have made more of an effort for our first date 1. I love braids...wear them all the time in the summer, they are my #1 choice at Disney or camping. A day in the city...maybe not...but I think I look cute in them. I think you look cute in them too! 2. we were just discussing last week how we feel free to arrive in pajamas or fresh out of the shower when we crop virtually. Please don't dress up and ruin our vibe But you will get called out if you arrive looking nice, and we'll need to know where you are heading or where you've come from, since we know you aren't doing it for us!

Good Morning Pokey's! It was so good to hang out with you guys last night. I love pea crops and I've missed them. Shooting for Friday night this week barring any emergency things that aren't MY emergency things popping up LOL. I got a few cards done from my card kit - I love how easy they are and I'm already searching online for more lol. nylene, that's so wonderful about the program for DH, I hope he will be willing to give it a go. I can't believe they have a wood shop! I hope you're feeling better. kellyr21 salmon ravioli sounds really good! I feel you on that weather. I've got whiplash between cold enough for heat, then warm enough for A/C later in the day. Today it's going to be rainy and chilly. I hope it cools off for you soon! I mean, they let me in... This makes me LOL. I'm glad being pokey isn't a requirement, I've loved getting to know all of the pokey's and not so pokey's . grammadee I'm sorry for your DH's loss. I hope you start feeling rested. kitbop I hope you feel better soon too! gramma wow you have been not very pokey! lol. I love Papa's Ride and Happy Hands are my favorites too. You should scrap that story! I've got all the things I did not do yesterday for today, cleaning, grocery shopping. Glad there isn't a Chiefs game today. fun fun lol. Need to check out the sharing thread and gallery today too. You guys are making so many beautiful things and I want to love on them.

Sorry I missed the crop! Dean and I were off to the city to see Hadestown. It was a very well done musical. We stayed over night at a hotel and got a room with a jacuzzi tub. I had a nice soak. Because of delays the plumber was too busy to get to us so there was no work done on our bathroom last week. Hopefully things will start moving again tomorrow.

Good Monday morning, Pokeys! Hoping you US Pokeys have your Thanksgiving planning right in hand and that the forecast storms do not ruin any of those plans. Really hoping the aids they promised your dh will work to extend the time he can create with wood, nylene. He is so talented and losing his sight must be really frustrating for him. How is his recovery from the last surgery? Glad you had a fun crop and that AussieMeg was able to join. Sounds like that Saturday evening/Sunday morning is a good time slot for it! My plan to do Wednesday mornings is not working out well. Last week dh made commitments for us both and this week I have a medical scan of my gut booked for Wednesday. You will be so happy when that bathroom is finished, justjac. Dh's shed renovation is not going as smoothly as he had it in mind it would either. Between availability of workers and shortage of materials, everything seems to take forever. I am really grateful for the longer time between our Canadian Thanksgiving and Christmas. I need more time than you get to reset between the two celebrations. Last week was a bit of a bust, very little of anything accomplished. Puttered around with a few card designs, so hoping with a little focus I should be able to finish the last batch I need. I wasn't sick, just headachy and tired and kinda listless. By the time I had a bit of energy, there was the funeral for our friend, and then a dgs hockey filled weekend. I dropped him off mid afternoon yesterday, drove home and crawled into bed. Feeling a bit more energy than last week. Planning to do some baking this morning--well, at least mix one batch of cookie batter to rest in the fridge overnight and put together some no-bake treats. First I want to finish a couple of cards whose pieces are scattered all over my scrap counter. See ya later!

Good morning Pokies!
Today I am cleaning all the things in preparation for DD23 and DS32 arriving tomorrow afternoon. He arrived back home yesterday from a whirlwind TDY to Bahrain, via Iceland and Italy and back home via Quatar.

Sorry I had to sneak out early on the crop. The sinus headache and the "tireds" just caught up with me. I would have stayed if I'd known that AussieMeg was going to hop on. So glad you could join AussieMeg . I have never met you or kellyr21 on the crops. Someday I'll be on when you are. I have been able to help DH and leave the shop the past couple of days. I think the hours in the sawdust were just doing a number on my sinus and lungs. It is clearing up. He seems to be able to set his own angles on the miter saw with the use of the 5x power magnifier we got. grammadee , I think your body just wanted you to slow down a minute! Glad you are feeling better and that you are well on the way to finishing your Christmas cards. I'm sorry your DH's shed is not going as quickly as planned. I think that happens way too often...and justjac and gramma would agree, I'm sure. I'm glad we are not renovating. How were the hockey games? How long has your DGS been playing. joyfulnana , I love, love, love your post about the online crops! You are the best! Now I want to see you and kitbop come in braids for the next crop. Did you see Rudy over the weekend? Oops, I'm needed in the shop. I'll try to hop on later!

I don’t think I told you that I have had four days off work. Today is the last day. Between a resurgence of covid and a particularly bad outbreak of influenza there were a lot of teachers and students sick. I think they were having trouble getting enough substitutes to cover the classrooms, so they closed the schools for four days. I hope it worked. Anyway, I’ve been reading and crafting. My latest Daily Pages book is 3.5x5 so I am adjusting to smaller pages.

My house is all clean and my big kids have been on the road since just before 7...looking forward to their arrival late this afternoon
