Happy Tuesday! Waving hi and hope you are all having a nice day so far. Thanks for sending the cooler temps my way. Left some praise for many of you in the gallery. Will check back there later. I started a new puzzle a few days ago and I am enjoying in the evenings. I will post a picture when I am done. It's so nice and sunny today, I will be taking a good walk this afternoon. I would like to go to the stores but I am staying clear of the craziness until after the holiday. I was in Michaels on Sunday and a few people are started to have the holiday stressed look already. I almost got ran into twice! LOL! The cooking classes have been fun. Last night was peppercorn steak and tonight is a potpie. Yummy! Yeah, grammadee, I wish after the chef makes the food he could send it straight to my kitchen ready to eat! LOL! justjac- What a fun trip to the show you all had. That jacuzzi bath sounds relaxing! nylene- Trying to remember when dh had his sport career event this year, but he did have an event last week with his former university with sports business professionals and students. He was helping the host student group out and everything turned out well. SO sweet that Cindy's granddaughter checks in with you. Yeah, time is flying and those kids are all grown up now. Miss Cindy, too and I know she would be so proud of her family. Your grands are growing up so fast, too. That picture of Angie's family was amazing! linda- What travel's your ds had. Wow! joyfulnana- What a game last night! I hope it wasn't too tough to watch.

grammadee I wish our thanksgiving was earlier too, I like the way the Canadians do it. The only thing is then Halloween would be in the middle there? linda I’m so glad your kids are able to visit and celebrate thanksgiving with you! We have my sister in law visiting us this week. We are trying to take her around and do fun things, but it’s tricky with a baby who wants to eat every 2 hours. We went on a hike to see the Hollywood sign and then Griffith observatory. The baby was so wiped out from the activity that she slept for 6 hours! Yeah! This morning, I have to bake my pumpkin cornbread so that it’s ready to become stuffing for thanksgiving.

To all our US Pokeys--have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! nylene will you be hosting? Or will you be joining family elsewhere? So great that your kids could come home after all, Linda. I know you will all have a marvelous family time. Sounds like your ds has seen half the world in the past week. He may just want to crawl into a bed and sleep the weekend away. I am glad that the baby slept so long after your active day, scrappyrabbit, and I hope you are getting rest when you get the opportunity. I am sitting here chugging some kind of chalky goop in prep for my CATscan appointment. This is a followup from the time in the spring my gut acted up. They are looking for constrictions in the tract. The appointment is over an hour away. Dd will be driving me there and back. Okay, okay: less thinking, more drinking. Yuck! They could have least flavoured it with the caffeine I am already craving...

Just a quick note to wish all USA Pokeys a wonderful Thanksgiving! Linda, I began worrying about your kids when they reported bad weather up the East Coast. I hope it blows over before they leave. So glad they arrived safe and sound and love their kitties! scrappyrabbit, I echo the advice to sleep when the baby does. It sounds like a fun visit with in-laws, but take it easy too. Those nursing babies can be demanding, especially when you are out and about. Hugs to both of you. grammadee, I am sorry you are having to have the nasty drink before the big test. I hope they find everything well. I'm cooking a turkey and we will have Em and family here. kellyr21, so glad it has cooled off for you. It's getting colder each day here and tomorrow we may have snow...I'll send you more cool weather. How nice to be able to go out and take a long walk. I'm glad you can do that. I look forward to seeing your completed puzzle! We have had our DS here all afternoon working on our bathroom sink faucet which has been hard to pull on. Of course it developed into replacing everything under the sink and putting in a whole new faucet. After fixing a couple of leaky spots he had to leave and will come back in a few days to replace the one in the basement sink. Can't understand how they could become corroded after only 50 years of use!!? I'm surprised they have lasted that long. It was very nice having DS here.

Awww... you're so sweet to worry about them. They said it was a decent drive - hit some traffic near the Georgia border in South Carolina but that wasn't unexpected. Just a long day, over 11 hrs. I'm glad that your DS is able to help with the faucets. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm headed to the kitchen to make pumpkin pie - trying a new recipe this year with condensed milk because guess what I forgot to buy? evaporated milk. oops.

trying a new recipe this year with condensed milk because guess what I forgot to buy? evaporated milk. Huh - I thought it was just a family trick that we used evaporated milk in pumpkin pie! Guess it's a well known secret Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I may just put up the tree this weekend, using US Thanksgiving as my jumping off point since we don't have that clarity here in Canada. DH will be cross. He thinks Dec. 1 is too early. But now that we have an artificial tree...why not?

Happy Thanksgiving US peas! Happy Thursday to the international peas! I've got all of my three boys coming for dinner today, after I run to the grocery store to pick it up to reheat lol. Tomorrow will be shopping for new Christmas decor, I got a bigger tree and honestly, it's time to refresh the Christmas things. Then depending on everyone's schedule I hope to have them all back Saturday to trim the tree together. I believe I'm about shopped out as far as scrappy sales, but I hesitate to join Linda on a freeze because I fail time after time lol. I kept forgetting that this was a holiday weekend here when I said I would open a crop Friday evening, but I may be able to still swing it if anyone wants to join. Probably an 8PM EST start. I'll post again when I'm more certain. gramma there's Raiders-Chiefs Sunday......if you want to crop and trash talk lol. And anyone else as well, as long as you don't mind all my yelling and being distracted lol. That would be a good time to knit. kellyr21 that game Monday night was very hard to watch, and I could see some of those turnovers a split second before they happened. I had just finished yelling at Kelce to protect that ball when he fumbled it, I could see it coming lol. I'm not liking our chances to repeat as SB winners. I'm not sure they will even get to the title game. Linda I'm so glad the kids are all there safe and sound and that the kitties like their new people. I am trying to type with a cat laying on one arm lol. Have a wonderful time with them! What a lot of great travel for DS! grammadee sorry about the nasty drink, I hope everything is A-OK for you! Is this routine follow up, or do they suspect something? kitbop embrace the US holiday weekend and put up the tree! LOL. I am kind of in the same camp with your DH, but since it's such a long weekend for me, I get the tree up and off the list lol. justjac, your Friday night sounds like it was a wonderful date night, and I love your pages so much. I get torn between 12x12 LO which I love making, or smaller pages because they really interest me, but it's a big change and a struggle for me. scrappyrabbit, glad baby did ok on the hike and slept so long afterward. I could never follow the advice to sleep when baby sleeps, it was my only downtime and I did not want to spend it sleeping lol. nylene I'm so glad DS was able to get your sink fixed. It's pretty cool that you have an expert in nearly industry to help out.

Happy start of the Holiday season to all of you. This will be a different one for me - - I'm glad to see that everyone has some happiness and joy in their lives right now. I finished Christmas shopping yesterday. Thank goodness for Amazon! Now to wait for everything to arrive and get it all wrapped. Is everyone else done? grammadee I hope your tests are clear and you don't have to drink that awful stuff again. joyfulnana I dunno, I sort of enjoyed the Monday game. And yes if you start a crop I'll join in. And yes I'll watch Sunday game with you. Although, the Chiefs will be out for revenge against whoever gets in their way and the Raiders are just a mess this year!! Happy Thanksgiving Oh and - Pumpkin pie or Apple Stuffing or ACK NO Favorite side

I thought it was just a family trick that we used evaporated milk in pumpkin pie! Guess it's a well known secret we've always use the recipe from Libby's pumpkin tins and that's evaporated milk but Eagle had one using their condensed milk and I had plenty of that because I found it 5 for $4 recently at Publix I've got all of my three boys coming for dinner today, after I run to the grocery store to pick it up to reheat Enjoy your dinner with the boys! I probably won't make a Friday crop but over the weekend I should be able to jump in - the kids leave early Saturday morning. Happy start of the Holiday season to all of you. This will be a different one for me (((Hugs))) and prayers. The first holidays are hard. Turkey is in the oven so I'm taking a break before I need to start working on sides. DD23 and DS32 are being very helpful, DD17 not so much - she's hiding upstairs in her room where it's harder to get asked to pitch in. Pumpkin pie or Apple - we like both but this year we have pumpkin, chocolate pecan, and chocolate chess...I'll have to make apple at Christmas (it's DH's favourite) Stuffing or ACK NO - I love stuffing and so does DH. The girls won't touch it. Favorite side - cranberry jello mould with pineapple and mandarins Happy Thanksgiving!

{{Hugs}} gramma. So many memories, but it is impossible to conceive that the chance to make new memories is over Apple or pumpkin? Hard to choose - but - pumpkin Stuffing YES Side - yorkshire pudding. Untraditional (as it typically goes with beef) but we love it so much we make it for all special occasions, turkey or whatever! Linda - your cranberry mold sounds delish. I should try that on my family. joyfulnana - I'm not 100% sure what time I'll be home tomorrow, but I expect to be home by 8 if you start a crop! How wonderful that you get all 3 guys home. I would definitely put up Christmas while you have the chance with them. grammadee - ugh the chug. And I hope they see NOTHING!

Side - yorkshire pudding. Untraditional (as it typically goes with beef) but we love it so much we make it for all special occasions, turkey or whatever! Linda - your cranberry mold sounds delish. I should try that on my family. I think Thanksgiving is the holiday we don't do yorkshire pudding for - definitely at Easter with the lamb and Christmas with roast beef. Cranberry mould is easy - put the juices from one can of pineapple chunks or tidbits and one can of mandarin oranges in a measuring glass and add water to make 16 oz - add that to a bag of cranberries (frozen or fresh) in a pot. Bring to a boil stirring and simmer 20 minutes. Add 1 cup sugar and simmer another 20 minutes, stirring. Pour a package of red or orange jello powder into a mixing bowl. Pour the cranberries over it and stir until dissolved. Stir in the fruit (original recipe also called for walnuts and chopped celery - we're not celery people so I never add that, walnuts are a sometimes addition for us). Spray a mould (or bowl) thoroughly with cooking oil and pour in the cranberry. Chill until set and then unmould onto a plate and enjoy.

(((hugs))) gramma and (((hugs))) to you as well kitbop. You two are in my thoughts. I'm not sure what the heck I was thinking about opening a crop tomorrow night. I'm pretty sure you all reminded me 3 times that it was black Friday and probably not the best night lol. And I'm pretty wiped after today and have running/shopping to do tomorrow, so I think I'll not be opening a crop. I will on Sunday during the game though lol. For sure! And that starts at 4:25PM EST time I believe. Oh and - Pumpkin pie or Apple Stuffing or ACK NO Favorite side Pumpkin. Hands down Yes yes to stuffing! cranberry sauce

No word on the C-scan until next week. They were not investigating an acute issue, rather a chronic one. So no real rush. That cranberry jelly mold sounds delicious, Linda. I used to make a cranberry cider by steeping the frozen berries in apple juice and I loved how the aroma filled the whole house. (((((HUGS)))), gramma, as you navigate the holiday season this year. Most of my shopping is done--much of it on line. Picking up the printed calendar pages and Christmas letters tomorrow. Need to go through calendars, glue in the pages, and hand write the dates for family birthdays and anniversaries. Sign and address cards, tucking letters into many of them. Hoping that after the craft fairs this weekend and a day in a nearby city on Tuesday I can start wrapping and mailing. Still need to pick up some gifts when I am in Calgary for a couple of the kids there. Pumpkin pie or Apple I like them both, but pumpkin is the one we have at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Stuffing or ACK NO yes, yes, YES! (and I cook it stuffed inside the turkey) Favorite side apple cream cheese mold.

Happy Friday! Glad you all had a nice holiday/day yesterday. Quiet day for us yesterday and looking forward to some fun this weekend. Here are two of the puzzles I did and today I finally got some pictures of this cute new mural in our city. This is puzzle I just finished this week. Oh, this was fun and I enjoyed it. Wish I was still working on it. Puzzle 2 by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr I finished this one a few weeks ago and totally forgot to take a picture of it before I put it back in the box. LOL! WOW on being almost done shopping - I've barely started Big kids left this morning with Chai and Thumper - hopefully the drive goes smoothly.

Good Saturday evening, Pokeys. Yes, Linda, hoping all goes well for the drive home with the cats. Are the others missing Thumper and Chai? Or stretching out and thinking, "Ah...."? You have more patience than I have, kellyr21--those puzzles do not look easy. Two craft fairs today, but only a couple of small purchases. Tomorrow dd & dgs will be here to set up the Christmas tree. Then I will go with them to an away hockey game. Monday I start signing and addressing cards and putting calendars together.

Drive went smoothly from what I hear - Thumper cried for the first couple of hours but then settled in for a nap. He was also unhappy at not getting breakfast before the trip. Chai was pretty chill. They all seem to be settling in well - I've already gotten videos and photos.
Dusty and Pad-Bear did wander around a lot yesterday - I think looking for the others - but overall, I think they're all a bit happier.
Hae fun decorating!
I've gotten all the guest bedding washed and beds re-made. Rainy here today so I think it'll be a scrappy day. I do need to cut some fabric for my next sewing project though.

Hello, I hope everyone has had a good weekend. It's been really busy here with lots of coming and goings. I did not get the tree up so no tree trimming this weekend, now the plan is next Saturday lol. We had our first snowstorm and got about 4 inches or so. It was a good weekend, but I'm just exhausted. I'm sorry, but I'm going to beg off opening a crop today gramma, I'm contemplating bed for the night already lol. Hopefully next week will be better.

Rest up joyfulnana ! I hope you enjoyed your busy Thanksgiving. You've beat me to first snow this year. It's raining and miserable out this afternoon, but we got the outdoor lights up earlier. I just got home from a big grocery shop, and we also got the dog bathed. I've been editing photos, and have discovered that I'm quite happy with the photo printing with my ecotank printer *now that I've bought better photo paper for it*. Actually - I purchased real HP premium photo paper off Amazon, and the first box that arrive had been tampered with, and the photo paper was replaced with plain copy paper! Amazon immediately send me a replacement box, but now I have to return the box of copy paper which seems a complete waste since they'll just bin it for all the waste of shipping Linda , I don't think you'll miss Thumper's escapist mentality! What is your DD's new cat's name? Is it getting along with Paddington and Dusty? kellyr21 , I cannot WAIT to have a house with a little extra space where I can do a puzzle! Right now, a puzzle has to be done on the kitchen table which is where a) we have 2 laptops and b) we eat, or on the living room table which is prime cat territory and thus not an option. I have a few I've bought through the years and not completed because of this. And I've asked for another for Christmas (expecting a 1000 piece Disney villains one). I tried to look at your videos but youtube says they are private and won't let me see! grammadee , I spent Friday at the "One of a Kind" show in Toronto with a friend. It's massive: We walked 5km while there, and barely backtracked to cover that distance. It's essentially a craft fair, but it's bigger scale and a little more polished feel. A little more polished prices goes along with that and you have to pay an entry fee. I picked up lots of food items, but didn't find much else. Boy is crochet big this year, as are charcuterie boards and wood tables with the inlayed acrylic. I'll be going to the more local fairs over the next couple of weeks.

I don't think you'll miss Thumper's escapist mentality! What is your DD's new cat's name? Is it getting along with Paddington and Dusty? DD17's cat is Dorian - he's 6.5 yrs and very chill. He wasn't the least bit fazed by Pad-bear or Chai's hissing or Thumper's batting of his tail. He's not friends with any of the others but there's no animosity either. Mini (13.5) is also pretty chill and has mostly been ignoring Dorian. Dorian is pretty much the perfect cat for DD17 - loves being picked up and snuggled - except for a bad habit of poo-ing in my craft room. I'm hoping with less cats in the house that'll improve - so far so good for the most part - only one mishap since the other cats left. I purchased real HP premium photo paper off Amazon, and the first box that arrive had been tampered with, and the photo paper was replaced with plain copy paper! Amazon immediately send me a replacement box, but now I have to return the box of copy paper which seems a complete waste since they'll just bin it for all the waste of shipping Wow - I'm glad that they replaced it but what a pain to have to return it (hopefully they are covering shipping).

kellyr21 , I have watched your videos and love, love, love watching you paint. Your Giselle is gorgeous! Love the layers and layers of paint on the 3 girls. You have such a talent. I will watch again and I hope you film more!! I love your girls on my scrapbook wall where I see them every day. Those are great puzzles. I love to do puzzles but it takes me so long if no one else helps. DH is a no puzzle man, even back when he could see. kitbop , tell me about "One of a Kind" show. I have never heard of that. I'm sorry your paper was stolen. How can people be so dishonest and rude?! I'm sure you will love having a little more room when you find the perfect new house. Have you looked, or considered building? I hope you can find just the right one and that it is in just the right neighborhood, and that it's just the right price. I don't envy you the move though. Linda , so glad you got to enjoy both of your "away" kids back with the whole family. Your cranberries sound great. My family would disown me if I didn't grind cranberries, apples and oranges for our cranberries. I usually have people around to do the grinding, but I had to do it alone this year. How was DH's appt last week? I hope he is doing better. I'm sure it seems that someone's missing as you care for the cats since 2 have gone home with the older kids. I'm glad they all get along so well. joyfulnana , we have snow too! It's our first snow that didn't immediately melt away. It started the day before Thanksgiving and snowed all day. There are just patches left today. How fun to have all 3 of your boys at home. It seemed like there was nothing on TV all weekend but football and Hallmark. LOL. I thought of you often as I walked in to see what DH was watching. He watched the BYU game and had me come in occasionally to read him the score. gramma , were you invited to Thanksgiving, or did you have to cook for a crowd? I thought of you often, and of all the people in my life who are missing someone at their table for the first time this year. Hugs! Will you take some time off at Christmas, or do you work pretty much clear through. grammadee , we have one big craft fair usually just before Thanksgiving. I somehow missed the notice and didn't get the flyer until the day it closed, so no fair this year. They will have another before Christmas, but it comes really close to the busiest time getting ready. What fun things did you see? buy? I can't believe you are finished with Christmas shopping. I guess I should get started! We had a nice Thanksgiving but within an hour after eating I was really sick. I was so afraid I had poisoned everyone, but determined later it was just another UC flare. It seems to be happening more often lately, but the meds made me sicker every day instead of just when it flares, so it was recommended not to take it. Yesterday I felt better, but was so worn out that we stayed home from church and watched online. Today I am up and doing so much better. I'm being very careful with what I am eating. Otherwise we had a nice Thanksgiving and Alex beat me handily at Aggravation, twice. DH is involved in another wood project. It's a simple block with a groove to hold a piece of word art or a photo. It's a project for Em's Ward for their Christmas party on Friday. She is here helping him with sanding. She needs 150 of these. She got this assignment the day before Thanksgiving to come up with a gift for 150 families in their Ward. They have been working on them since. She created a Christmas word art they will receive that night and she will take family photos during the party which they will receive before Christmas. They can display the photo or word art in the wooden holder.

Oh nylene. I hope you can ease that gut back into submission. Please take it easy.
Thanks for sharing your painting videos, kellyr21: it's great to see how your art comes together. What with craft fairs (where I purchased one book for a dgd at one fair and a couple of candles at another) and hockey games, not much else got accomplished around here, but the tree did go up on Sunday. More hands make lighter work. I still have other decorating I want to do but dd and dgs carried the tubs upstairs for me, so the heavy work is done.
don't know how I can feel like I am ahead of the game, yet so far behind... I had hoped to start working on my calendars today (gluing the pages in and writing in important family dates) but dh wanted me to drive him to his eye appointment, so nothing accomplished today, either. Tomorrow is book club evening. Also have a hair appointment in the morning and a bunch of errands to run in the afternoon. Then driving back to dd's to stay overnight and get dgs off to school in the morning, as she has an early away-from-home meeting. I plan to work on my calendars there Wednesday morning.

kellyr21 - I haven't had a chance to watch your videos yet but do plan to so glad you got to enjoy both of your "away" kids back with the whole family. I'm glad they all get along so well. my cranberry recipe dates back to the early 70s - it's an Ocean Spray recipe that we've adapted over time (I leave out the celery and the walnuts). My mum made it every year and I took over as a teen. Now DS32 makes it also if he's not home. DH's appt got rescheduled for this week (Fri) so no news there. House is quieter with less cats and kids. Dorian is still having some adjustment issues though so I'm trying to find a solution there e had a nice Thanksgiving but within an hour after eating I was really sick. I was so afraid I had poisoned everyone, but determined later it was just another UC flare. It seems to be happening more often lately, but the meds made me sicker every day instead of just when it flares, so it was recommended not to take it. (((Hugs))) I'm so sorry that you've been unwell. I hope you're feeling better now. What a shame that the meds aren't a good fix for you. DH is involved in another wood project. It's a simple block with a groove to hold a piece of word art or a photo. It's a project for Em's Ward for their Christmas party on Friday. She is here helping him with sanding. She needs 150 of these. Sounds like a lovely gift but wow 150 is a lot of work with not much lead time. don't know how I can feel like I am ahead of the game, yet so far behind. Same Your tree looks great. I still need to pack up Fall/Thanksgiving and pull out the Advent totes (we decorate in two batches - nativities around the beginning of Advent and then the tree closer to Christmas) before Sunday I need to bake today and make Christmas cards - I discovered I have much fewer than I thought I did.
