I scrapped last night - I'm hoping to this weekend ...at least to finish up an almost finished layout (just needs title/journalling and embellishing) but I need to grocery shop and take down Christmas today and tomorrow we'll spend the afternoon in the city for DD17's Girl Scout meeting so I'm a solid maybe

I have done virtually nothing but work on the February '23 Sheetload of Cards. I guess I also made some mini-slimline envelopes.

Hello Scissor Sisters ( I loved that band back in the day!). Thanks for hosting us jeremysgirl Happy new year! I do scrapbooking, cardmaking and sometimes mini albums, too. I'm also trying to spend more time doing hand embroidery. I mostly stitch on felt but want to do some hoop work, too. I use Linda 's monthly goal threads to help keep track of things I want to accomplish. January's thread is here if anyone else is interested. My main goals this month are to make valentine cards and finish printing photos from 2023. The cards are done but I haven't started printing yet. I don't currently subscribe to any kits and I'm not really in a buying mood either. Not in a freeze, per se, but after moving last year I got an in-depth view of my craft supplies and I really need to use more, buy less. So that is my plan for now. I have a hard time passing up a really good sale, so if I can steer clear of those I should be okay. I have more decluttering I want to do now that we're mostly settled in. There are some tools/techniques I have supplies for but haven't yet tried, so those are part of my focus for 2024. I did very little scrapbooking last year (retired + out of state move in 2023) so I'm excited to get back into the swing of things. I'm hosting some of the "29-4-29" challenges so that should help jumpstart my scrapbooking again. Hopefully those of you struggling with mojo will feel inspired to play along at your leisure.

We are looking at a big snow storm today. They say 5-8 inches of snow with 50 mph winds. Tomorrow is expected another 1-3 inches of snow. So I'm running out this morning to have my blood drawn and to get groceries. I'm lucky in that I've already worked way more than 32 hours and I don't have any meetings until 3.
I have 20 squares all pinned and ready to sew together. And then I will wait until Sunday to map out the entire quilt and begin sewing it altogether. (I ordered a quilt design wall that is arriving Sunday.)
So it is my hope to scrapbook tomorrow. Maybe Sunday too. And then do that quilt on Monday. I have the day off for MLK day.
I wish there was an online crop this weekend.

With a nasty weather weekend and a holiday, I’m hoping to get some scrapping done this weekend. I ordered six months of pictures and hope to dig in! I’m working forward from July of 2021. This was the beginning of the end of my marriage and it’s weird trying to scrapbook some of that. I have putting off this time period and am determined to push through. My kids will be the focus of the pics so that’s a plus! Stay safe and warm everyone!

Stay safe and warm everyone facing nasty/stormy weather this weekend. I wish there was an online crop this weekend. same - I have a pretty quiet weekend ahead and am hoping to scrap. I'm not techy enough to start one though. This was the beginning of the end of my marriage and it’s weird trying to scrapbook some of that. I have putting off this time period and am determined to push through. My kids will be the focus of the pics s (((Hugs))) Be kind to yourself as you work through these. Focusing on the kids is a good plan DD17 was supposed to leave this morning for a canoeing weekend but the rivers are at flood stage so that got cancelled. They are trying to arrange a day canoe trip tomorrow on the one local river that isn't flooding but no details as yet. So all I have planned for the weekend is scrapping and grocery shopping.

I have done virtually nothing but work on the February '23 Sheetload of Cards. I guess I also made some mini-slimline envelopes. I was unclear here, I think. I did not mean that this is all the crafting I've done in 2024. I meant that it was birthday and I spent it pretty much entirely in the craft room. As part of moving into the new crafty cabinet I've also rearranged the craft room closet (need to store the project cart in in now). I found a bin labeled "stuff to use up" and found three old card kits or at least vast portions thereof. One was ornately floral, vaguely Victorian even. Way too old-fashioned for even the old ladies via Bring Smiles to Seniors and nothing I was particularly interested in crafting with. That went into the box going to the crafty thrift store I discovered recently. The other two were bright and cheery and I've been busily making them into Cards for Cubs this weekend.

I figured out last night that I had my PL done up to July. I finished sewing together my 20 more quilt squares yesterday and then I cleared off my table and got out my scrapbook stuff. I managed to print all my pictures and then set up all my spreads. I just need to embellish and journal July today. And then I think I have enough photo paper to print August pictures. I hope to get those done today too. Then all I will have left is September and November because I did OD and DD. I am pretty excited about this so if you guy could give me some kudos, I'd appreciate it. LOL! I'm just kidding. But other than that hiatus I took in 2022 when Esther died, this is the most behind I have ever been.

I put all of my July pages in my album and damn if it isn't almost full. I figure I can get August in there but that's about it. So I placed an order at scrapbook.com yesterday for a new album and a bunch more page protectors.
Now I need another cube set to store albums. I've run out of storage space for finished albums.
Oh and I bought that mint green velvet 9x12. I thought that might be a fun color.
I know I could have gotten more, maybe the whole year in one book if I had gone with 12x12. But I really liked the 9x12 size.

And now at the emergency vet, waiting for diagnostics to come back. Not expecting good news in a 12-year-old dog, but hoping for a minor miracle.

jeremysgirl It seems like you won't be behind for long if you're about to knock out a month in a day or two. That is impressive! I need to go see what this mint green velvet is all about. Sounds like a few of us got some crafty time this weekend. We've had below freezing the last few days which is not typical where I live. No snow, but definitely cold and windy. Even the bay started to freeze over. Neighbors were saying it hasn't been this cold since the mid-90s. Yesterday I did FaceTime crafting with a friend but I wasn't really in a crafty mood. I went through all the cards I've saved from previous card swaps to repurpose into new cards for donating. I have them sorted into different stages of completion so it should be easy to continue another time. I decided that I'm going to scrapbook last November's NYC trip in a 8.5x11 album. I usually do trips in 6x8 but I think 8.5x11 will be a better fit for the amount of photos/ephemera. I'm leaning towards using a mix of Shimelle's Main Character Energy with some random travel stuff thrown in too. I'm looking forward to starting this one, but first I need to print photos! I usually keep up on printing but last year with the move, I've gone at least 6 months without printing at this point. It's a goal for January, so I still have time!

Well, it’s freezing here in Texas and I so miss our usual summer weather! Hoping it all moves on soon and warms up quickly! It just makes me achy and lazy. Plus side is gumbo and lots of soups for meals! I can eat that stuff in 110 deg weather while everyone complain it’s too hot for that food!
I sorted out pages to do, printed pictures, and have those ready. I have a few crafty projects left from a craft convention from last August to finish and store for next Halloween and Christmas! Then to work on the Mardi Gras tiered tray. And then Easter tray. And work. Housework (vomit). Exercise (down 30 lbs-the dog is my trainer—long walks and dog training activities), and back to fun cooking—and providing a few meals a week for a neighbor who is very sick. But, always crafting, scrapbooking, cardmaking and sewing, and reading. Those of which keep me sane!
Will share a I go.

katiekaty - stay warm. It's chillier than usual here in Florida but I'm loving it. Picked up 160+ photos yesterday - got them all labelled and sorted by layout and ready to scrap. Today I'm back to working on DD17's Girl Scout album - it's 8x8 so fairly quick layouts...mainly photos with a bit of journalling and an embellishment or two. I'm working on her weeklong high adventure trip from June and then will tackle her Boundary Waters trip from July.

Sounds like some action shots! Yes - soem great action shots - they bought the photo packages at the whitewater rafting and canyoneering so I had loads to choose from. I got that album finished up last night along with my valentine cards. Hoping to scrap this afternoon and/or evening and work on the next Girl Scout album - the one I finished was Seniors (9/10th grade) and she's now an Ambassador (11/12th grade) - I have photos for 3 layouts so far and would like to get those done. I also finished two genealogy write-ups yesterday so hope to get those scrapped as well - they are super simple layouts...so many words so little space for embellishments, lol.

Between yesterday and today I got all my photos printed! That feels like such a huge win - I'm glad that's over. Whew!
I took advantage of the free shipping promo at SB.com and ordered page protectors and some Shimelle. Once those arrive I can start separating the NYC photos into page protectors. I have another travel album I want to finish before starting on NYC. Maybe in March I will be ready for it.

Thank you, AussieMeg . I think I have mostly stopped thinking I hear her, so it's starting to sink in. So, I'm kinda nine month's pregnant in this job search. Place I interviewed in person a couple weeks ago is checking references and seems on the precipice of making an offer, but...hasn't. Sort of like job offer braxton hicks. So, one needs a serenity plan to keep oneself from spinning out of control with anxiety. I am rearranging my paper and card stock storage. It's only kind of working. I'm having all kinds of eleventh hour doubts...what if it's not as good a fit as I think? What if I'm completely overwhelmed? What if I just can't stand the commute (longest I've had in decades)? What if the work-life balance is completely whack, just as I head into a season of virtual crafting almost every weekend (the really important issue, right?!)? EtA: AARRRGH! A FOURTH recruiter just reached out to me about the very same job -- the one checking references! WTH?! How bad a sign is it that these people seemingly sent the same job to every recruiter on the planet?!
