Got my daily reassurance call from the recruiter..."still the leading candidate, got ahold of one reference, waiting on the other two, possible to give them a little nudge?"
Thank you all very much for tolerating my off-topic blather and not shooing me over to the NSBR side....
I have been crafting, mostly for the Valentine Pea exchange, so I haven't shared much to preserve the surprise.
And LOTS of organizing. Organizing feels SO in control....

Shakti I am sending good vibes to you. I know how important a quality job is. I have an existing job but I did apply for another job. One where the people doing the hiring know me well. And I thought for sure I'd get a call to interview. But that hasn't happened. And I'm slowly losing hope on that one.

The slowly losing hope is the worst feeling. I'm so sorry, jeremysgirl. The one thing they always say in job seekers networking meetings is that the calendar moves very differently for the candidate than it does for the hiring team. We are so focused, but the HR team is probably filling more than one vacancy and management has their actual day jobs in addition to trying to fill (and maybe also cover for) the vacancy.

I read back over several pages so I think I'm caught up. I posted my kid Valentines over on the sharing thread, so next up is the adult Valentines. December Daily pictures are in their slots but no journaling or embellishments or date cards yet.
I had some kind of flu last week and it is definitely harder now that I'm older. DD got one night of fatigue and some sniffles. I got the whole fever, chills, headaches, muscle aches, cough, extreme fatigue. It was bitter cold here in the Northeast last week, so I spent most of my time under a blanket with some tea. I told my volunteer job I wouldn't be there all week but only missed one math class and two reading classes because they had weather delays and closures. I did work on those kid Valentines when I was feeling better over the weekend.
Better days ahead! Feeling less fatigued and warmer weather is on the way for us.

I hope you guys don't mind but I've been in quite a funk the last two weeks and I think I need to take a break for a few days. Usually a mood like this doesn't last more than a few weeks. So I should be back soon. I just need a couple of days away.

How's the sisterhood doing this weekend? I was supposed to go to my local SU demo's house and craft with others for a few hours, but our snow storm is hitting earlier and faster than originally forecast, so I think I'll stay home. My normal weekend M/O is to craft in the morning and then adult in the afternoon, but I already did the adulting thinking I was going to be out. So I guess I'll be crafting after lunch!

sorry about the weather messing with your plans Shakti - enjoy the crafting time I'm working my way through an Iris box of photos - labelling them and then filing by year in the Irish photo cases. Hoping to scrap once the box is either done or I need a break from it. I have January 2022 photos from my big kids on the scrap desk and I got some new embossing folders yesterday so want to try them out for cards

It’s almost February! Good time to tally points and get ready for next month. Hopefully our fearless leader will feel better and rejoin us soon.

Thanks Shakti - I was just thinking that I hadn't tallied points all month and it was about time for that task. 71 layouts = lots of counting. I am hoping to make a couple more layouts today and tomorrow as well.

Shakti - that's a good reminder. I made some cards and a banner. It's the January blahs here - low 30's and grey skies. It's time to work with pretty paper and embellishments to have something fun to focus on.

As the newbie here, I printed the spreadsheet and tallied my points. Now what do I do? :-)

How is everyone doing? My scrapbook stuff is all over my dining room table. It has sat there for almost three weeks now. Untouched. 😂
I took a cookie decorating class on Sunday. Seriously the cookies came out so cute. My DD loved them. She asked me specifically if I would bake cookies and teach her how to decorate them like the instructor did in the class. So I'm going to clean the table and she is going to come over on Saturday to do cookies. I mean how could I resist my adult child wanting to spend time with me?
I will then get everything back out on Sunday and scrapbook. I have three more months in my 2023 PL. My goal is to complete that book this month.
How is everyone else doing?

What fun, a cookie decorating class! I would love to do that sometime! I haven’t scrapped in over a week and need to get at it.
I am also job searching. My position is grant-funded and ends April 1. It’s so stressful!

Wishing you great new gig vibes, amyl and jeremysgirl! I turned down an offer Friday. I am trying not to make every day a weekend day, but I do try to spend an hour or so in the craft room each morning, either crafting or organizing. Moving into the new Craftinet was pretty disruptive, so I'm not quite all the way settled in. I am about to embark on my five remote crafty events in seven weekends insanity! SCT's Celebrations Delivered is this Saturday, then a weekend off. Next up is Pinkfresh Create & Connect (a two-day, all-weekend event), then Altenew Mindfulness the following Saturday, TE Virtual Stamp Joy the Saturday after that, another weekend off, and then a second Altenew event. I think it will work out, but I might have been non compos mentis when I started signing up for all this. Somewhere around the edges of all that, I'd like to get a few more Cards for Cubs ready to donate in March. I will be doing another Maine crafty retreat in mid-April. I bought materials to make two match 6x8 scrapbooks of the trip to Italy my mom and I took in November of 2022. I have a notion to try to work on those at the retreat. I don't think either us has yet gone through our photos, though. If I manage to pull it off, it will be my first completed scrapbook project! EtA job vibes for jeremysgirl, whose post I missed earlier and also that I guess April is beyond this quarter's challenge and doesn't matter much here therefore. Oops on both counts.

jeremysgirl - the cookie decorating class sounds fun but the time with your daughter sounds even more so! Be sure and get photos! Good luck to you and amyl and Shakti on the job hunting.

Wow! Shakti you are going to be so scrappy busy! Sounds like you've got heaps of fun lined up! It sounds so awesome. You should be able to sweep up loads of points too. Is anyone on this team doing the February daily challenges?

Yes Linda I continue to be surprised by Chloe. Now that she's sober, it's like getting to know a whole new person. Spending time with her is such a joy. And we missed out on what could have been some really good times/years. So if she wants to decorate cookies, then I am all in on that.
