I haven’t shared for a few weeks here either (I post weekly on my insta). This week I only used one card and 1 die cut from the March kit. http://instagram.com/p/C48gUlmJKCq

This week I only used one card and 1 die cut from the March kit. Love those envelopes and the tags. They work so well together and are such a nice pop of color. I also like how you use the tall skinny tag next to a square photo (lower left). That's a great way to use up that space when you don't have a horizontal 4X6 photo. I'm going to add that idea to my list.

I thought I'd share my recent Aliexpress purchase. I like to buy basic metal dies from there. I should have paid attention to the measurements, because these come out on the small side, BUT perfect for pocket pages. The little tickets are so cute!

blemon loved seeing you use the delight kit… can’t wait to see you use the contentious “afternoon delight” chipboard tag 🤣😳😉 I HAVE used it! Lol I used all three morning/afternoon/evening delights on a page in 2022. I took a pic for you but then realized I didn’t really want to post on my insta and that’s the only way I know how to add the picture so it’s just going to have to be left to your imagination! 😂 I had purchased the chipboard pieces in a sale so I had an extra set. Which means I have another afternoon delight still to use. lol I feel funny seeing it but thought it worked ok as a set. When I used just the morning delight last week I was like hmm…now how am I going to use that afternoon delight one. Maybe it will be a good fit with love story kit lol. blemon I LOVE arrested development. Love. Haha

I had that song on 45 (for you youngsters who didn't have a record players, 45's were small records with one song on each side ) and I still can't believe my parents let me play that at age 8. I had no idea what the song was about at that age but still.

Super jealous. I have a cube, so I just check in here lol. Since I'm updating here... I fell a little behind on my PL album while I was focused on finishing up 2023 projects, but now I'm pushing to get it done. I am currently working my way through March and hope to get "caught up" before WITL documenting. I have one week to go on 2023! I can't link layouts because my work computer blocks instagram, but you can see my spreads over there @lindalovescreating. I just shared week 6, but more coming soon.

I have a dilemma. I am doing a weekly PL album. I have the last week of January with absolutely no pictures. It was a time where I was working 7 days a week and a minimum of 10-12 hour days. I think at that point I had worked 19 straight and pictures were the lasts thing on my mind.
Do I skip that week completely in my album or do I acknowledge it with the story of why there are no pictures and put some 3x4 and 4x6 cards in there that represent my life then?

Do I skip that week completely in my album or do I acknowledge it with the story of why there are no pictures and put some 3x4 and 4x6 cards in there that represent my life then? I have a couple of ideas: I like your idea to go photoless. Just some journaling and some filler cards. Also, can you take photos now of where you work? If I took a photo of my office today, I will not know next week whether I took it in January or today. So if it's pretty much the same, you could have some photos to represent. But Ali a few weeks ago did a layout that was almost all journaling and it was very cool.

stormsts - I would just do one page for all those days and do some journaling about how busy you were and such. I like blemon's idea of taking a photo of your office or your desk or something to add, maybe a screenshot of your calendar during those days if it shows your business.

Hello everyone! I'm 5 months late to this thread, but have just finally started working on a yearly album after having my craft supplies packed away for 2+ years, so I'm excited to come talk scrap again. I figure I'll answer this early post then go catch up on 7 pages of earlier chat. I don't really do Project Life style albums as it was intended, so I hope that doesn't get me kicked out of the club. (j/k...based on some of the questions asked here, i can see that hybrid styles are "allowed", so to speak. ) Will you be doing weekly? Monthly? While I do use Project Life style pages, I don't follow a daily/monthly format. Instead I do a general 1 or 2 page spread for each month, incorporating any misc. photos but I also do "layouts" via pocket pages of events using more photos as well. Do you do a hybrid style where you scrapbook but via pockets with full page layouts too? Yes. I primarily use pocket pages, mixing in full pages only when I can't make my pics work out in any one of the different pocket formats I have available. What size will you be working in? I'm using 8x6, which is the smallest size I've ever used for a yearly album before. But my kids are getting older, and we are in the midst of a multiple year house restoration, so we're not doing a whole lot to take photos of these days. So I think the smaller size will work out. (Although I will definitely make a separate album (also 8x6 size) for the one big event we do have happening this year.) So you subscribe to any kits? I do not. I am trying not to buy anything new for scrapping right now except for pages, adhesives, & possibly to purchase specific solid colors if I find my current stash is lacking them. (Although I will buy new items for that separate album I mentioned.) Any favorite companies? It's been so long since I've scrapped that I don't know if I can answer that right now! Do you do any hybrid pages where you use digital products? Nope. I have never gotten into anything digital at all. Extra Info: 1.) A great percentage of my scrap supplies are still boxed up, so I am currently working with one banker's box full of 12x12 pages, and about 2 dozen 6x6 pads of paper, and pretty much no embellishments! It's going to be a very basic, very simple album this year. 2.) I have found that I need to accept that my scrapbooking is no longer as precise as it once was. I have an uncorrectable vision issue in one eye, and that makes it tricky for me to do close work, such as fussy-cutting, any sort of coloring, lining things up, cutting things in a straight line (even if I'm using a paper trimmer), and journaling by hand. For awhile before we moved (when my things were packed up) I had already stopped crafting because I was unhappy with my new limitations. But I have moved on and realize that I can still enjoy the scrapbooking, and still the same things as long as I am willing to accept that my results will be different My last pages had photos with uneven mats, sloppy handwriting, things that were meant to be square that were not, etc. But, I'm still putting the photos and memories down for myself to enjoy later, and I'm at a point where I can do that without focusing on what's "wrong" with the pages now. I know if I fully embraced the Project Life style as intended, I could avoid doing those things, and just use pre-cut cards and mats for my pockets; but I still like the look of putting traditional scrapbooking elements to work within a single pocket, so I'm going to keep on with it for now. Longest "Hello!" post ever, right?

A question: What do you do when you have a week/month that is just nothing? I had intended to do a month-in-review pocket page for each month in 2024, but I have literally one entry for all of February. Last month was such a low key month, with anything notable being "bad" things rather than "good". Not something I want to necessarily document, and certainly not a 12x12 double sided pocket page dedicated to it. I'm using an SCT class so the base of the pocket page layouts are done - I just add photos and whatever embellishments/journaling. My instinct is to do nothing, but I don't like the idea of having nothing for Feb. What would you do? Skip February all together? Try to cobble together something/anything? Another idea? I decided to print a few pics off Facebook last month that family members had posted. They are cousins I don't get to see very often, and I thought "Why not let these be my Misc. March pics and write a little blurb about memories of these people?" So that's what I'm doing. I figure that just because I see them more online than in real life doesn't mean they have to be absent from my albums.

Okay, a few other things/thoughts that came to mind while skimming through the thread. This is my confession: I have been scrapbooking since 1998. I have exactly ONE finished album. That's it. Over the past 26 years, only one started album ever wound up finished. That's the whole reason I started using pocket pages, because the pockets force my hand a bit---they cut down on decision making, which was taking me forever previously. They cut down on product, which helped ease the "Oh my gosh, if I use this this paper now, what if I find a more perfect place to use it later and wish I had saved it!?!?" nonsense that also slowed my progress to a halt. But even with pocket pages, I still have yet to finish an album. I have gotten far more photos into albums, though, so it's still progress. My last attempt at an album was a few pages in 2020. Then I went into my non-scrapping funk. Also, I'm currently without a scanner or decent printer (I don't have a craft space at all, which is why I chose a smaller album this year than ever before.) so I expect to see a lot less title work or even journaling on my pages for the most part.

melanell - welcome back! Pocket pages have really helped me get more done, although I do like to do a traditional page every now and then. You have a great attitude for starting back up, just use what you have access to and getting the photos off your digital device, telling your stories and getting them into an album is all that really matters.

Longest "Hello!" post ever, right? Welcome! Glad you're here. It's Thursday and I haven't started last week yet. It's finals week and I'm so tired from the end of the semester and all the grading. Ugh. Much progress is happening on our house all of a sudden and that's just way more fun. I'll have some time tonight so I'll get started. I'm all caught up on posting what's done to my instagram. It's so funny. I'll have a layout that I think is really great and get very few likes. Then I'll post a layout that I'm not happy with and get a ton of comments. (Well 3 is a ton for me but whatever). I don't care about that stuff at all but it is helping me to be less critical of what I do.

Do I skip that week completely in my album or do I acknowledge it with the story of why there are no pictures and put some 3x4 and 4x6 cards in there that represent my life then? I made it through to about April with at least one photo taken every day. But then a combination of COVID and colder weather (not getting out as much) has seen my photos drop right off. I don't scrap my PL "one week to a page / opening", so it doesn't really matter if I miss a day or two, or even a week, of photos. It's so freeing! But when I used to do a week to an opening, I would use the following as filler photos: Newspaper headlines from that day/week What I'm currently watching on TV / reading / listening to Something new that I have recently bought (even if the photo isn't taken on that exact day) Photo (can be from the internet) of a travel destination I want to go to Photo of a recipe I want to try Photos from friends or kids / family members Facebook or Instagram pages Photo of scrapbook supplies that I've recently bought, or a favourite layout I've done A memory that pops up on Facebook from XX years ago A photo of a favourite outfit You could also take a photo of your office or work computer and journal about your long working hours that week.
