I'm signed up at Scrapbook Generation for their crop. I've taken a couple days off work to try and get extra scrappy time this weekend and try to participate live with it for at least part of the crop. I'm going to try something I don't usually do - scrap first - the rest of the day can wait. We'll see how that goes lol.

yay joyfulnana - I'm listening to Debbie's welcome LIVE right now and after taking care of a few tasks, I'll scrapping also.

I don't have any specific plans for NSD. I've kind of been out of scrapping mode (life...) so getting to my desk this weekend would be nice.

Good morning team!
I had a good scrappy day yesterday playing along with the SG crop and will join back in today. I might take a peek at ACOT as well.
Hoping the AC repairmen can make it out today...not looking forward to the prospect of waiting until Monday.
Hopefully everyone can find some scrappy time over the weekend - double points start today and continue through Monday

our chat is very quiet...I hope everyone has found an opportunity to celebrate iNSD this weekend - by getting crafty time and/or shopping.
No iNSD shopping for me yet but I did pick up a Gemini mini that arrived on Friday - it looks so cute next to my Gemini Jr - and a couple of new in package Cricut mats, a tube of washi tape, and some stickers at a yard sale ($3 total - such a bargain!)

Good morning Paper Posse! I hope everyone had a wonderful iNSD weekend. Remember double points continue through today!
DH is away on business this week so I'm hoping to get some scrapping done and some sewing also.

I got some time for scrapping in on Saturday, even though I haven't been sharing pages online lately. I've finally made a start on some photos from the Friends experience we visited last year. My DH is a huge fan of the show, as was the other person we went with, so there were approximately a gazillion photos which just made it feel overwhelming to scrap. So I picked a couple of photos of us on the Friends couch from the intro and have that page nearly finished on my desk.
I had hoped for more time to scrap, but what I got was better than nothing. Miraculously I didn't end up buying anything, which I definitely consider a win!

approximately a gazillion photos which just made it feel overwhelming to scrap. that is SO relatable. I'm glad you were able to pick a couple of photos for a page

Sorry I’ve been quiet here. It’s the end of the year for school get sports are starting up in full force!
I didn’t get to any NSD events but I did do create and crop the previous weekend. I do hope to get to some of the recorded things over the next few weeks once school is done.
I’ve also put myself on a spending freeze for a bit aside from subs as I’ve been overindulging in kits and product! And of course I decided it right before Shimelles new line was announced. I figure I’ll get it later if there are still pieces around.

boymom5 - May is busy for lots of people - I've often wondered why iNSD is in May between Mothers Day, end of school, sports, recitals, and so on...

boymom5 - May is busy for lots of people - I've often wondered why iNSD is in May between Mothers Day, end of school, sports, recitals, and so on... According to Google, CM created the day in 1994, so it's their fault! School ends here in the middle of June, but things start to ramp up for the end of the school year (gotta cram that school play in at the last minute) so my May calendar usually looks like a pen threw up on it. I think January would be a better month...

Thanks breetheflea - I didn't realise it had been around that long. We're in the midst of AP exams and EOCs here - the 24th is the last day of school. I agree with January

Yes January is a better month! Our end of the year things begin mid to end of April and summer sports began around the same time. Plus spring sports finishing up. So though all my kids are only in one activity at a t time between all five we just have a lot of overlap! Public school kids have all the end of the year programs and my homeschool kids are working to finish subjects up and the conclusion of their activities (most end this week including graduation).

Anyone have any tips to share for adhering stuff to glitter paper? It's always a struggle for me but I have several DCWV paper pads to use up...and DCWV uses plenty of glitter

Hello! Sorry I haven't been chatting over here much. Linda I have rarely used glitter paper, so I'm no help on what adhesive to use. I wonder if a liquid glue would work. I did not get but a couple hours of scrapping out of my long weekend. It does seem like there is always something going on that weekend every year. I managed to do a fair amount of shopping, and also preordered quite a bit of Shimelle's new line. And I'm on a freeze now until at least black Friday. I'm ready to work on the challenges from the SG crop. They seemed to be less specific and a little looser than I remember them in the past. There are quite a lot I want to do.

I mainly tackled the sketches (layouts) from the crop. I'll get to the cards at some point. The other challenges I have written down and will tackle eventually, maybe... I've never found their challenges to be overly specific in the past - but I could be misremembering.

Or I could be misremembering lol. It's been several years since I've done one of their crops. IDK, for some reason the challenges felt less "challenging" than they had been, or it could just me lol, but I do think I'll enjoy working on them. It was a fun crop for sure.

I've been MIA after my wonderful Altenew Secret Garden Retreat. I had a blast but was exhausted at the end of the day, with 6 classes scheduled and just 10-15 minute break between except for lunch it was full on crafting. I've finished a few cards up from the practice pre-sessions. But still need to get down in my craft room and finish unpacking the last load of stuff that was moved.
My health is really an issue since DS18 ran away. If you've been following on the other thread in NSBR I decided against any form of guardianship (partial) as I have no control over him with him gone. I am grieving his loss and the break with our family, all for drugs and a girl. In other ways I am relieved as I don't have to devote as much daily energy to him, although something comes up almost every day that I still have to deal with and forward to him. God is in control, take the wheel.
I've lost 10 pounds due to my IBS issues in les than 7 weeks, not able to digest much, no appetite, and very hard to sleep. Trying to find a psychiatrist to help me with my meds (only have a NP), as there are some concerns. I need to sleep to heal my IBS, but . . . prayers appreciated.
This is opening weekend for Walleye fishing in MN, so the ILs will be here. I really hope they respect the fact that I am not feeling well. They do take up a lot of emotional energy when they are in our home. I was hoping for a 5 day stay max, but that was changed by DH and SIL to a week, then they will be back for Memorial Day weekend as well. It's not that I don't love my ILs . . . I just don't have the energy to plan/cook evening meals plus what I need to eat seperately. MIL is taking more care of FIL as he is failing, but she's always been self-centered.

angel97701 - I'm glad that you enjoyed your Altnew Retreat - that does sound fun filled. Can your DH take on the bulk of the cooking and entertaining of his family? especially since you've been unwell.

Happy Mothers Day to those celebrating today. (((Hugs))) for those for whom today is a hard day.
Does your family have any traditions around Mothers Day/Fathers Day? Have you scrapped those? Did you make Mothers Day cards?
I'm the only mother still around - both my mum and MIL have passed and my kids aren't parenting yet. It (and Fathers Day) aren't a big deal here. And I really didn't have anyone to make a Mothers Day card for - I will make DH a fathers day card in June.

Hello Paper Posse!
Looks like we're going to get more storms this afternoon - I haven't finished picking up all the branches and leaf litter from the last round. We swung by CVS after dropping DD17 off for her PreCalc AP test this morning to pick up a photo order...I was expecting it to be a quick in and out but the cashier couldn't find my photos and looked and looked and looked and finally ended up re-printing them for me. I felt bad because DH needed to get back to work and here we were standing and waiting...

Will I get in trouble if I crash this thread even though I'm in the opposing team? I feel like these threads are helpful to keep up on people's comings and goings and I miss hearing what people in the other team are up to! I don't check the nsbr board most of the time. I'm hoping you can get some rest and healing angel97701 <3 thinking of everyone scrambling/dragging through the last weeks of school and Linda I hope those storms aren't too bad. I feel like most of the country has much scarier weather than we do here. The coastal PNW has significantly more British weather than the rest of the country. Have you visited/explored the west coast/Washington/Vancouver BC? ALSO Did anyone on this team see the Aurora Borealis or Australis?

You're welcome to visit the Paper Posse joblackford - I do wonder if it would be better to have a single teams thread Today's storms haven't been bad - Friday/Saturday were though - 70mph wind gusts and lots of straightline wind damage. I haven't been to the PNW but it's on my wishlist. I'm not sure about the aurora borealis - maybe? sky was a little pinkish in photos but hard to tell for sure

ALSO Did anyone on this team see the Aurora Borealis or Australis? No I didn't see Aurora Australis, although on Sunday morning my Facebook feed was filled with photos from various friends who had seen it. I didn't even realise that it was going to be visible for us, otherwise I may have made an effort. I will, however, use someone else's photos to document it in my Project Life!

ALSO Did anyone on this team see the Aurora Borealis or Australis? I totally forgot to look Friday night, and there was a lot of great photos from it being posted. Saturday I couldn't convince myself to get out and drive somewhere to see them lol. So short answer, no I didn't lol. I think a single team thread would be a good thing too. The team leads could keep it going together. My Mother's Day was fun. My kids took me to lunch, and then we browsed the bookstore while coffee. Came back here and played Cards Against Humanity. My first time, and oh wow, it was hilarious and also so wrong lol. AussieMeg - I was checking out the sharing thread and saw you had watched Baby Reindeer. What did you think? I just watched it last week. I had no idea it would be so dark. Also I thought of you while I was at lunch yesterday, I seem to recall you saying everyone knows not to start eating until you have pictures. I had that thought too - right after we had started eating LOL! Hopefully I will react a little bit faster lol.

AussieMeg - I was checking out the sharing thread and saw you had watched Baby Reindeer. What did you think? I just watched it last week. I had no idea it would be so dark. I really enjoyed it. But yes, It was quite dark, especially episode 4. The other day I watched part of the interview that the real 'Martha' did with Piers Morgan. I couldn't watch it all, it made me very uncomfortable. The woman obviously has some pretty big mental health issues. She said a lot of things that were contradictory. eg. No I didn't know him, I only met him 3 or 4 times...... No I didn't send him any emails or texts..... I only send about 4 emails...... yes I sent him texts because we were in the same group of friends...... Also I thought of you while I was at lunch yesterday, I seem to recall you saying everyone knows not to start eating until you have pictures. I had that thought too - right after we had started eating LOL! Hopefully I will react a little bit faster lol. Hahaha!! I went out for dinner with a friend last night, and I took a photo of our main courses, then said "Oh no, I forgot to take a photo of our entree!" My friend said "I think everyone knows what a samosa looks like." Yes, but that's not the point!

my Facebook feed was filled with photos from various friends who had seen it. That's pretty much what happened to me too. We live 2 blocks from a large Naval shipyard and base with lights blazing 24/7 so I didn't think we'd see them, even though our area was well within the right zone. Next day my feed is covered in photos from friends further out, but I still figured we wouldn't have seen them right here. Then my neighbor says she watched them for an hour right out the front windows! doh. But I really need my sleep. I laughed at your samosa comment.
