I worked on stamping some Columbine flowers from Altenew last night. They turned out wonderfully. But then had to pack up my craft room as our house guest needs a room the is not "catty", he's allergic. Now he and DH are at the yacht club going sailing this morning. I have a few chores then I'll try some crafting?
DH and I need to make ANOTHER trip to Oregon this month. AUGH! My IBS is slowly healing, but I'm still not back to normal. Have to be very careful with diet.
With that said Pizza is not an option right now, but when I'm healthy . . . . Cauliflower crust (GF),red sauce, Kalamata Olives, sun dried tomatoes, and sausage is my go to pizza.
My mom left on Thursday. We had a nice visit. On Tuesday we went quilt fabric shopping for her to get ideas for my next quilt. We do use them as our bedspread and have worn one out, and are on the way to wearing the second one out. It probably has a good 4-5 years left, but she wants to get started on our next one. They are treasured gifts! We spent some time in my craft room on Wednesday, I made four cards while she did a sticker art book of butterflies.
My mouth is finally healing, on May 30th my dentist was going to fill a cavity . . . but was confused how I would get a cavity in that spot. It was on the back of my second to last molar (the last one is gone--failed root canal). He lasered away a bunch of tissue to get to it AND it wasn't a cavity but just a malformation of the tooth. It wasn't soft like cavities etc. So we did nothing with the filling. BUT now my gum is slowly growing back and I swish with salt water several times a day. Plus side? He didn't charge me anything. I guess X-rays to necessarily tell the full story.
Now onto chores!

Checking back in. I spent some time last night printing out all my photos for Dec 2023 so they are now all in pockets/page protectors ready to be scrapped and I've added some of the themed embellishments and cards I want to be sure to use when I scrap those photos.
As for pizza, I really love a good woodfired margherita.

I haven’t been on here a lot lately but I have been scrapping and making some cards (new for me!). I’m currently working on a camp mini album. Since my current family albums are PL style, the mini album works well for larger events like camping. It’s mainly for the kids too and they are looking forward to seeing it done. Other than that I’ve been chauffeuring the kids around and working on my garden. It’s a year of remodeling for it as I’ve made 15 garden boxes so far and then filling them. It’s going to be more of a fall garden this year I think than summer!

katiekaty - I haven't seen you on the boards for a while - hope everything is okay and it's just a busy time of year for you. I am around, just eating quickly in the background while running from this appointment to that. It’s turned into a mess of medical crap but seems to be smoothing out for a bit and hope it stays that way. I don’t like to complain of these things on the boards as I am not a sympathy seeker, I am a fixer-of myself and any in my orbit( comes from the family and nurse background). I refuse to give up or give in! I usually have three to five projects on my craft, sewing or scrapbooking desks so I work a bit here or there. Thanks to the big mutt—he keeps my spirits up with his silly antics and has over the last year learn to walk on the leash well, so we walk a short walk every day or so. And I have my small raised bed gardening that I set up where it requires easy maintenance and won’t go to pot if I ignore it for several days. The garden must still love me because it tossing out at least two 12 inch cucumbers every day—my favorite! my lastest sewing craze has been sewing bowl cozies—I made a few for my MIL and everyone in the family has put n a request! One even venmoed for money for supplies for making them for all the family—can I say I was shocked? She’s a cheapskate, LOL. I can only think she wants to keep her name in the hat for four of them! I have also been cleaning out the sewing and craft areas and putting thing on the buy nothing groups. It’s so nice that all I have to do to get rid of stuff is post a picture, pick someone, put heir name on it, DM the address, set a time and set it outside for them to pick up. Easy peasy! other than that, working on healthy eating through simple , not over prepared foods, carb counting, protein counting, minimizing heavy snacks, etc. I even convinced my two sons to join me in chair yoga😁but don’t tell anyone, it’s our secret😉! We are all feeling better for eating better. so that’s it in a nutshell! Thanks asking!

katiekaty - glad you're still around. (((Hugs))) and prayers for all the stuff going on. Bowl cozies are great aren't they? I'm glad your family is appreciating your sewing. Good job on healthier eating - working on that here also.

Sorry I've been MIA in this thread. katiekaty I hope your health continues to smooth out. I hope you'll post a picture of the bowl cozies, I would love to see them! I completely forgot that it was Father's Day yesterday, until late afternoon. At least I remembered in time to wish DS Happy Father's Day lol. I didn't scrap but I did getting some knitting in. I'm looking for the photos I want to use for the double points weekend prompts. I still have time to sneak those in, even if I missed the double part lol. I do have plans to scrap next Sunday morning with my mom. We used to have a monthly online scrap date and got away from it, but we are ready to get back to that. So fingers crossed some scrapping will be getting done lol.

joyfulnana - I think a monthly scrap date with your mum would be awesome! I keep trying to convince my bestie to scrap online together but she works from home most of the time and I think she likes her weekends to be less online (understandable)

I cannot believe that it is June 19th already! Last week has been filled with chores AND DS18 (that ran away before graduating, still graduated thankfully) texted and wanted "photos of his younger self and sports photos". Stick a knife in my heart and twist it as he wanted them for a grad party. A big thing in MN, not so much in Oregon. Oregonians send out photo cards to friends and family and occasionally have a party. I did one for each of my kids. Not super well attended though. But a HUGE thing in MN and his gf's family told him it is a way to "make money". What a sad reason to have a party. Any how I did do a flash drive and gave him copies of all photos from school years that I had duplicates of to keep for myself. He stood me up for the first meeting, but I met up with him yesterday. It's so sad, he is doesn't want to be known as disabled, but in truth you don't grow out of a TBI like FASD. He wants to do it on his own but he's been living with someone rent free . . . whatever. He's declined services and next may lose his health insurance.
We thought we were driving to WA and OR this week, I had prepped food and packed my stuff ready to put it in the motor home. DH drove it to get the propane filled, and it went into full limp mode. Closest place to get full on engine service is 147 miles . . . at 25 mph. Augh, DH is problem solving the issue now.
I did get to sit and craft last night and this afternoon. Have a SB BetterPress plate with matching stencils. Beautiful one layer card front.
My health is slowly improving. Still not fully back on normal diet. It will take time.

I'm so sad and mad at myself lol. I washed a stamp from a newly opened stamp set down the drain today. It was a rare alpha set that also had numbers, and I lost the zero out to sea lol. Fortunately the font is very thin and the letter O can be a close fill in so all is not quite lost. How can it be time for sign ups and final point tallies already?! @angel9770 That's awesome DS did graduate. I hope things get better for you all soon and that things smooth out.

Well, just when I fell like I got it all under control, I find out that it’s all an illusion! My granddaughter is critically is ill, she is at this moment still in surgery undergoing a liver transplant. This past weekend, within 72 hours she went into total and irreversible liver failure. It will be a long journey ahead for her and my heart is breaking at how much her life will change, but so hopeful and glad that a donor was available in time for her—he was a full match, relatively young and healthy but died of natural causes, no major heath issues and clean liver. I hope he is dancing with angels at this time and his family knows how grateful we are. Here’s is the link the the thread on the NSBR side with a request for cards. If you are of a mind to send the we would be so grateful. When she is out of the medicated coma, we want to put them up on display in her room for everyone to see how much the world thinks of this precious young lady! Thanks Cards

katiekaty a card is on it's way to you DGD. Prayers for all your family and that of her donor as well. Please keep us up-to-date. Do you live in MN as well? University of MN hospitals have been on the leading edge of many types of medicine. I am sure she is in good hands!

Thank you for sending a card. I live in Texas I have a bag with the basics packed but probably will no go for another week or so. My DH is up in Wisconsin as he is on a scheduled Boy Scout camp out with her brother. He flew into Minneapolis Friday as scheduled as was fortunate to be able to be with my daughter while my granddaughter was having the transplant surgery. We wanted to keep things as much as normal as possible for he brother, so they went on the camping trip as scheduled. The return from camping on Friday and will go pend the day on Saturday visiting he. My younger is up visiting and will take her brother home continuing caring for him and their menagerie of animals. We are all fortunate that he is able to stay through most of July or more as needed. My DH will return home next Sunday and then we will decide when I will go up. Right now, my daughter is able to in her room, so going to Minneapolis means hotels and cars and parking. That’s money we want to put toward an Airbnb or shorten rental when she is released but has to stay super close to the hospital. She probably won’t go back to Wisconsin for at least 4 months!
I am keeping the cards thread updated.

katiekaty - I mailed a card this morning How is everyone doing as the quarter winds down? I know I need to count points - I don't think I've even thought about it since the end of April so that'll be a big project. My current crafty thing might not turn into finished points until next quarter - we'll see. I had a bunch of print, colour, and cut pages so I printed them out, am colouring them, and then will turn them into cards.

I saw your cards and they turned out wonderfully and are very pretty Linda! I haven't even thought about points since the end of April, or early May. I haven't scrapped much, so it shouldn't be too hard to get them tallied. There probably won't be a ton of them. Although we do get points this time for pushing paper around

Thank you joyfulnana - I have 3 more cards to make and a layout to finish and then I need to count, count, count And to everyone else counting -no stress about how many points you have or haven't earnt. We all know life gets in the way sometimes and mojo vanishes and plans go awry. If you don't have points, just pm me and let me know so I don't start nagging you to turn them in.
