Hello and welcome to Q2! I'm Linda your team lead for this quarter. If you need to tag me it'll be @ homeschoolmum breetheflea joyfulnana AussieMeg katiekaty angel97701 boymom5 Chinagirl828 cat2007 azcrafty scrapperal This thread is YOUR thread. I'll try and post some questions periodically to keep us chatting but please feel free to post whatever you like - share a project (papercrafting or otherwise), ask a question, vent about crafty (or IRL) frustrations, tell us your good news, enable us by sharing a new purchase... To start us off for the quarter - please go over the challenge thread and post some challenges. Remember we can only take one point per challenge per month. But we'll keep the same challenges for April, May, and June. And for conversation - What was your most recent crafty purchase? And what were some of first papercrafting purchases you made?

My most recent crafty purchase hasn't arrived yet, I needed adhesive but also bought some of the new 49 and Market line, some pieces from True Colours, a couple of pieces from EP's latest travel line, and some other EP papers for the b-sides. I'm excited for it to arrive as I already have plans for some of the things in my order.
Some of the earliest purchases I can remember were those papers that came in a handful of different designs in three or four colourways (hot pink, blue, and purple are the ones I bought but I think they also came in green and maybe some other colours?)

Chinagirl828 - enjoy your new purchases when they arrive - looking forward to seeing what you make with them And I didn't answer my own question... My most recent purchase was the Pinkfresh grab box. I've already used the non-Christmas papers and some of the embellishments. Early purchases include the Slab (3 each of so many designs...) and CADD page toppers...I found a couple of those still in my stash while organising last week.

My most recent crafty purchases: Altenew Secret Garden class with supplies, Altenew Press plate set, BetterPress Society Butterfly plate + stencil, and Spellbinders BetterPress. Yes there is a trend here.
Sad news on last month's group thread . . . suffice it to say, life has changed in a very stressful and negative manner, and I am physically suffering from the stress of it all.
DH has encouraged me to immerse myself in my crafting (and unpacking), but to not focus any more energy on DS18. Prayers appreciated.

Retail therapy continues . . . just ordered the Gemini Hot foil plus accessories, all will be arriving while DH is away, so I will have many new toys to play with. After resisting for so long, and well, it's just time to take care of myself.
Made several DS related calls this morning. Need to keep myself safe and sane. Calls to my health care providers, she was totally onboard with getting additional care meds and gave me some good suggestions. Now to get moving on a few chores. Oh and make it over to add some challenges I know I will play along with for the next quarter.

This is my first challenge so bear with me if I have a ton of questions...lol. I also haven't scrapped or made cards in FOREVER so I'm really hoping to get quite a bit accomplished.
My first purchase was so many years ago and was one of the Creative Memories bundles with the circle cutting system, some pens and paper and I think that's about it.
My latest purchase was a WRMK Precision Press Advanced. I had one before but I think it ended up packed in my son's belongings when he got his first Coast Guard duty assignment. My craft room became his bedroom and I never saw it again.

cat2007 - welcome back to scrapping! Feel free to ask as many questions as you need. I'm glad you were able to replace your stamp press - they are useful! How does your son like the Coast Guard? My oldest is career Navy.

What was your most recent crafty purchase? Oh bummer! this just reminded me that the retiring products sale at The Lilypad ended on 31st March - I had a number of things in my cart that I wanted to buy, and now it's too late. Oh well, it's my own fault for not buying them straight away. My first scrapbooking purchases were all from Creative Memories - a pink album and page protectors, some plain cardstock (I don't think they had patterned papers back then), a corner rounder, and a circle and oval cutter. Maybe a couple of stickers.

Oh I'm sorry AussieMeg - that's a bummer for sure. I suspect lots of people started with CM - the friend who got me started did but quickly went her own way.

Linda he absolutely loves the CG! He has always been our outdoor kid and loves being on/in the water. He's in year 3 and is on Staten Island right now. How long has your oldest been in the Navy?

Just a reminder to PLEASE drop challenges in the Q2 challenge thread so we have challenges for the WHOLE quarter. If you're stuck for ideas - is there an embellishment or tool you always use or would like to encourage yourself to use - make that a challenge. Do you have a favourite colour combination or did you realise you love buying a specific colour but don't use it as much? make that a challenge. What themes will you be scrapping this quarter? make a challenge for them. Do you have card making occasions coming up or do you need to restock your card stash? make a challenge And remember, you get a point for each challenge you set -so if you add four challenges - that's 4 point easy peasy. Set 10 challenges? that's an easy 10 points. breetheflea joyfulnana AussieMeg katiekaty angel97701 boymom5 Chinagirl828 cat2007 azcrafty scrapperalI do see that AussieMeg has added some - thank you!

That's awesome! DS31 has been in just over 8 years - he's in Virginia now but his first posting was to Okinawa Japan which he loved. He's bought a house in Virginia and while he's due to PCS this year sometime (might end up being early next year), his next posting looks like it'll be in Virginia as well.

Ours did his 4 years of undergraduate work in Criminal Justice and is glad that he went that route. He's a bit more mature than if he had gone in right out of high school. He has recently put in for a few new positions so we'll see how he makes out.

Hello! Just popping in to say I have high hopes (as always) to get some things done, but I probably won't be online too much. I can only pea from one device in my house.

Thank you scrapperal for adding some challenges! I'm primarily a scrapbooker who makes cards usually because I need a card. What about the rest of you? Are you a scrapbooker? Cardmaker? Other papercrafter? Or do you have a different crafty focus? I know I'm hoping to get some sewing points this month.

Oh to answer your question, my first purchases were CM, but quickly moved to Michaels and LSS.
My goals this quarter are to finally finish our 2021 Hawaii album. Right now working on pocket pages for the USS Mighty MO (Missouri) at the Pearl Harbor Memorial. Then maybe a few handful of pages to finish it off traditional style.
Off to add challenges!

Thanks for leading Linda! I got a couple of challenges added, and will try to get back with more. I'm hopeful to get more done this quarter. I've got several page kits ready so keeping my fingers crossed. My latest purchase was/is a bank-it at SG. A couple of their page kits, and I preordered quite a lot of Pretty Little Studio's Well Read. It will be May or June before I have it in my hands lol. My first purchases were multi colored cardstock 8.5x11, some small punches and likely shaped scissors lol. My SIL saw a CK magazine and we learned to scrap from there. I've never owned a single CM, CTMH, or SU product. Just the LSS and now online.

We're on spring break in our house (or everyone but the college kid who was on spring break two weeks ago) so I'm not getting a lot of scrapping done this week... I did sit at my desk briefly yesterday and took some stuff out of my "new stuff" drawer and moved it into my general stash because the drawer was full My pre-order of Photoplay's running theme line arrived, so I guess that's the newest thing added to my stash. My first paper crafting purchases were in 2003, but not for scrapbooking, I used to art/junk journal. I don't anymore, just scrapping and knitting these days. I know I bought The Slab III or IV at Michael's, and still have a few sheets in my stash...

breetheflea - I didn't get much scrapping done during spring break either - hopefully next week you can do more. That's right, the Slabs were numbered. I'm sure I bought (or split with my friend) several. I still have a couple of sheets in my stash also. I did like that they were easy to mix and match within a slab.

The newest thing I purchased was a big shot. I got it since the dies from the Pinkfresh weekend were bigger than my sidekick! And since I’ve ordered a few goodies I’m waiting to get to put that to good use.
I’m primarily a scrapbooker and have been for 25 years now. I occasionally make a card as needed.
My room is currently a disaster and I don’t see myself getting much done this month. I did quite a bit last month though and my schedule needs to recoop

Once some errands and moving boxes around are finished I hope to play with my new foil machine? Saga with DS continues so . . . there's that!
