This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members. If you are on a Team, complete the 4 challenges and post them on this thread for an extra 4 points.

Hi Pokey's! Thanks gramma for setting us up! I hope nylene will be home soon and able to maybe check in. I can't believe it's already April 2nd. And I know I've talked about this a lot in the crops, but it's the Stadium Tax election day. Where we decide if the Royals should build a downtown baseball stadium, and the Chiefs get renovations to Arrowhead. The polls just closed and early voting is a no so far, which is the way I want this to go, for multiple reasons. The boys and I went for a late lunch/early dinner Sunday. DS2 lives close to downtown so we went downtown. We found a fun place that is like a food court for street food. Several choices of local vendors. It was called Parlor. I definitely want to do that again soon. Afterward we walked it off along what is called "the graffiti walk" which is several blocks of buildings. Except it is NOT graffiti, it's street art and it's sooo cool looking. As we walked, one of the kids mentioned that this is what will be torn down if the stadium tax passes. I'll be sick with disappointment if it does pass. This has been such a huge deal that it's all anyone is talking about around here. There are watch parties! LOLOLOLOL Happy April to all the pokeys!

Hello Pokeys. Hope you are having a good week, so far. gramma , do you have any updates on nylene this week? What about updates on YOU? How was your Easter? kitbop how is the packing coming along? I hope to get some decluttering done this year (NOT craft supplies yet! But clothes extra bedding and small appliances I don't use and other stuff), so that when we have to move out of this house it won't be AS overwhelming. How is Miss Abby doing this week, joyfulnana ? Hoping you have adjusted to the time change and are feeling less tired. And I hope the vote goes the way you want it to. How was the theatre production, justjac ? And how are you planning to spend this week? Will you be helping your mom with her final moving tasks? Or is she all moved into her townhouse now? And what have you been doing, kellyr21 ? Did you two take part in any special Easter activities? AussieMeg , I am so happy to see the light gradually coming back to us and my heart hurts for you as you watch it gradually move away from you. What fall activities are you taking part in or watching? Is this football season? I saw woodysbetty post on the GS board and invited her to drop in here to chat. At one time she often chatted with us Pokeys. I am in Wait Mode. Dh has been having issues with his diabetic legs again. And he has been going to Home Care for wound cleaning and dressing for a couple of nicks, and wearing compression stockings to hold down the swelling. Yesterday he had them done again, and the doctor advised him to stop wearing the compression stockings, so he did. This evening he showed me a huge liquid filled blister on the side of his shin. His plan was to poke a needle into it to drain it and wait until morning when Home Care is open again. I told him not to touch it, and called the hospital and was advised to drive him to outpatients immediately. He then agreed to go to the hospital this evening, but insisted on driving himself. So I am waiting at home to hear what they decide to do. They will need to have a doctor come in and look at the situation, and in our small town the doctors do not stay IN the hospital when they are on call, so he/she will have to come from home. I suspect they may keep him in on IV lasix, measuring his H2O intake and output, with his swollen legs elevated (He thinks propping his foot on a footstool is elevating it). But whatever is decided it will take a considerable amount of time, so I won't know for quite awhile. I guess I would be waiting whether there or here, so...

fingers crossed on the tax vote joyfulnanaYour street food court sounds super as does the street art I've been scrapping off a storm to start off the quarter thanks to the online crops. And there's another scheduled tomorrow - and of course ours on Friday night. At some point I should probably squeeze some housework in, lol

gramma thank you so much for providing the updates on nylene . I am missing her! AussieMeg , I am so happy to see the light gradually coming back to us and my heart hurts for you as you watch it gradually move away from you. What fall activities are you taking part in or watching? Is this football season? I cannot believe how quickly the summer flew by. It seems like only a couple of weeks ago I was excited for the warmer weather on the way, and now it's all but over. I will be counting down the days until 1st December when summer is here again. Not that I want to wish my life away..... Yes it is football season here, it started in mid-March. The two matches that I have been to I have worn a skirt and t-shirt, because it's been so hot. I don't know how the players cope playing for two hours in 34C heat! Oh well, it won't be long before I'm rugged up in my big fluffy jacket.

grammadee I'm glad your husband went to the ER, instead of trying to pop and drain the blister himself! Hopefully the hospital staff will ensure that he props his leg up properly, and this particular issue can be resolved quickly.

Thanks for setting this up gramma! Missing nylene and thinking of her lots. grammadee - can pokeys and their loved ones PLEASE stay healthy? How awful and scary for you and DH - I'm so very glad he went off to ER... although the poor ER nurses: when a farmer comes in to hospital voluntarily, they pretty much get the crash cart ready because farmers don't come in unless they are SICK (in all caps). Please keep us posted! joyfulnana - now I'm watching for the vote results! What time did the polls close/start counting? So curious - sounds like it's a close race from the pre-vote polls. I sure hope they say "no". It seems like only a couple of weeks ago I was excited for the warmer weather on the way, and now it's all but over. How cold do you get in the Winter? Do we actually feel sorry for you, or are we in the North actually rolling our eyes at you Our packing has hit a temporary slowdown because we don't have room to put boxes or get into some of the stuff that needs to be packed. So we've decided to rent a 20 ft steel storage bin this weekend which we can start filling...that will let us pack and create space in our house to keep packing! They'll deliver it to the driveway, then that will then be moved to our new house in a month.

Do we actually feel sorry for you, or are we in the North actually rolling our eyes at you Yes, you MUST feel sorry for me! I live in the second coldest state in the country, and sometimes it even gets down to 12C in winter!! when a farmer comes in to hospital voluntarily, they pretty much get the crash cart ready because farmers don't come in unless they are SICK (in all caps). Ain't that the truth!! My Poppa was a dairy farmer, and I think the only time he probably ever went to the hospital was when he chopped his finger right off!

Update: dh just texted from the ER to say he was "all bandaged up" and ready to come home soon. I was hoping they would keep him to monitor his fluid retention and sugar levels. That is probably why he didn't want me to come with him.

It was a big fat NO! Yay I’m so happy! And it looks like there’s much going on this month for everyone! grammadee how scary! Sending all the good vibes for DH. I hope things go well once he’s home. It all sounds concerning to me. It seems to me they should keep him. Linda I’m hoping to get more pages finished this quarter than last. The crops help keep me on track. I don’t envy you kitbop. Sounds like the pod is a good idea. You’ll be able to see the progress!

That is probably why he didn't want me to come with him. I hope he's doing better today - does he have a followup appt with his doctor. It was a big fat NO! Yay I’m so happy! Yay! Stormy weather today - it's super dark, rainy, thunder, and the possibility of hail and/or tornadoes - yuck Poor DD came home with her pre-AP-test study schedule yesterday. She'll be staying after school until 530 on Tu-We-Fri and on M-TH she's already staying until 530 for academic team practise so will have study sessions until 730. All for one class (AP US History). Her teacher is also running Saturday sessions but DD is already booked for most Saturdays - she has academic team practise this Saturday, the State meet the following weekend, and a snorkelling trip the weekend after that. Hoping to get some scrapping later provided power/internet cooperates.

I hope he's doing better today - does he have a followup appt with his doctor. It was his doctor that was on call yesterday evening. The dressings leaked overnight. He is going in this morning to see his regular nurse at Home Care.

Hey. grammadee I’m glad you got DH to go to the ER. Linda that sounds like a crazy schedule. kitbop I can sympathize. I’m at my mom’s. Her house is officially sold Friday morning so we’re busy going to the dump and the second hand store and her new place. Fortunately they said they would take what we didn’t want because they don’t have furniture. Unfortunately for them, the more tired my mom is the more junk we are leaving behind. I’m heading home Friday so I have a couple days to relax before I’m back to work. Dean and I saw Hairspray on the weekend before I came here. It was lots of fun and better than the movie I think. We also went out for fondue which is my favourite. Thanks to gramma for setting up the thread and hugs to nylene.

That surprises me! Mind you, I just realised that my post was misleading - 12C is about the lowest MAXIMUM daily temperature in winter. It does get down as low as 4C overnight. Once in a blue moon it might even get down to zero.

January is our coldest month - average highs are abt 18 C and average lows are abt 6 but it's not uncommon to drop below zero even down to about -9C and we have dropped to around -15C a few winters.

Good luck with all the packing, kitbop, and the moving, justjac. Actually, AussieMeg, we have had a few 12C days here this winter, but that has definitely NOT been the norm. That feels like a lovely spring day around here! Our temps today ranged as high as 9C, but dd informed me that standing in the wind by the skate park waiting for dgs to be ready to head home it felt MUCH colder than that. There is still some snow on the ground here but not nearly as much as there usually is at the beginning of April. If we don't get a lot of spring showers we will be headed into a drought season. I spent today getting my income tax stuff organized. Have one more form to fill out and it should be ready for the accountant. But dh still has quite abit of farm accounting to do. Hoping he will be able to do that by the beginning of next week. I was hoping I would be able to join you gals on Friday, but I think we have a church function to attend. I need to get the details from dh, who received the invitation. Continuing to send healing vibes to nylene. Hoping all is going well.

Is DH's leg moving in the right direction grammadee? He must be feeling OK if he's accepting function invitations? justjac - NOT envious of your job with your Mom right now. It was miserable sorting and emptying my Mom's house. Buuuuuut...she wasn't there to give us grief about our choices or vacillate over her own decisions, which would have made the job 10x longer! Slogging through the week here and looking forward to Friday. I got the Ikea vattenkar www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/vattenkar-desk-organizer-white-80548661/ (if you want to see), and so far it's working well for "current project" storage. It will hold a lot. On one side I have paper, and on the other I have peg board add-ons to hold scraps, embellies and stuff. I put it on a cheap lazy-susan and it's super easy access without mess.

Good Morning! Linda anymore word on the drain field or the trees? DD is busy! Does she know what she wants to study after high school? grammadee how is DH doing? How are YOU doing? I hope you're taking care of yourself. It would be great to see you Friday! justjac I don't envy you either, it helps the buyers need furniture. I really need to do a deep declutter. I've been feeling my mortality lately and my kids would have no idea what to do with all my scrap supplies. Sometimes I look at it all and feel sorry for them kitbop I'll need to see that vattenkar Friday. I may be making a trip to Ikea this weekend It's been quite chilly here the past week or so. Every year I seem to forget about the back and forth of Spring finally arriving. Lots of chatter about the results of the vote Tuesday. Both teams were threatening to leave if they didn't get their way. I think they lost a lot of community goodwill and support with that tactic. I know it's left me maybe not caring if we have the Chiefs here anymore. Although the orgs president was quite p*ssy afterward and that didn't help. I could just see the Chiefs moving and making my county a blackout market so we can't watch them. sending you hugs and good vibes nylene, hope you'll be feeling well enough to pop in soon.

I spent today getting my income tax stuff organized. Have one more form to fill out and it should be ready for the accountant. But dh still has quite abit of farm accounting to do. Hoping he will be able to do that by the beginning of next week. Dh finally got me the last (I hope) tax paper last night so now I need to get moving on doing the taxes. I absolutely dread it each year. I was hoping I would be able to join you gals on Friday, but I think we have a church function to attend. I need to get the details from dh, who received the invitation. We'll miss you but hopefully that means your DH is on the mend. Any updates on his leg? NOT envious of your job with your Mom right now. It was miserable sorting and emptying my Mom's house. Buuuuuut...she wasn't there to give us grief about our choices or vacillate over her own decisions, which would have made the job 10x longer! (((Hugs))) justjac - I agree with kitbop - as hard as it was to sort and empty my mum's house, it would have been a million times harder if she had still been there to 'help'. She loved each and every thing she owned and was sure it was all much more sought after and valuable than the majority of it was. It looked really useful when you shared it on the crop. Perfct for your new scrapbooking style. I had FOMO for a minute and then looked at my desk and realised that there is absolutely NO space for it AND I don't need it/wouldn't use it to its potential with MY style. anymore word on the drain field or the trees? DD is busy! Does she know what she wants to study after high school? Drainfield is the 16th, trees the 12th. And after yesterday's storms, I'm SO grateful the tree people took down that one limb - it for sure would have come down yesterday if they hadn't. DD has NO idea what she wants to do after high school other than leave FL and she's very anxious about not having an idea. She had planned to go into welding but it's turned out that welding isn't a good fit for her and she's not continuing in the program next year after two years. I'm glad she had the opportunity to give it a good try and discover that while still in school. She's looking at a couple of colleges in VA but tbh the out of state tuition isn't in our budget and I think she might be a trifle over optimistic about scholarships. She hopes to live with her siblings if she does go there but there's really not a lot of space - she would have to fit a bed in their library and I'm sure they could squeeze a desk in somewhere but it wouldn't be like having her own room. She is welcome to stay here as long she needs - there's a decent community college in town (DS got his 2-yr there and so did DH for that matter) - but she's pretty against that idea so...we'll see. It's okay that she doesn't have a plan yet. My older two didn't either. DS made the community college decision AFTER graduation and DD23 was planning a gap year/didn't want to go to college but ended up applying over Christmas of her senior year so... nylene - continuing to keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hoping you're on the mend.

I have been doing a horrible job of checking this thread and the board in general. I had to go back to the March thread to read what happened to nylene. I hope she is doing better day by day! I miss checking in with all you. I hope everyone is doing well! I do have one layout to share, using a sketch from the 29-4-29 challenges. Hope you gals had fun this evening. That baby LO is super sweet, scrappyrabbit. I hope to leave some love in the Gallery and/or on the Sharing Thread soon. The meal at the church was really good, and they sent us home with a couple of extra pieces of PIE! Have been working on a LO for a couple of days, overthinking it, but hoping to get it glued together tomorrow. Dh's legs are doing a bit better. He picked up some new compression stockings on Thursday, and they seem to be helping. He has an appointment to see Home Care again Sunday afternoon.

We missed you grammadee , but I don't know if we can compare to extra pie, which sounds good right now. I think I need to eat breakfast maybe lol. nylene surprised us by popping in to chat for a bit! That was a very nice surprise and I'm glad she was feeling well enough to chat with us! I'm going to make a trip to Ikea today I think because I'm so easily enabled lol. I'm afraid I'll come home with more than just the organizer kitbop posted about LOL! But the more I think about that organizer, and while I'm not following along with Shimelle's your year class, I do want to start making several layouts from one collection at a time, instead of jumping from thing to thing to thing like I've always done. And I'm hoping maybe something like this will keep the piles down that I'm continuously sifting through. It will be fun to browse IKEA even if I decide no on the organizer. I need to check out the challenges and see if I have any more to add. grammadee I hope DH gets news from his appointment tomorrow. And that you get some scrappy time. scrappyrabbit such a precious, adorable layout. I love the "hi, I'm new here" so cute. I really like that page design and the soft colors.

My husband is super looking forward to it, it’s Bruce Springsteen so it’s kinda a big deal! Glad nylene is feeling better but I’m sorry I missed her! grammadee can you share some pie via the internet?
