Thanks joyfulnanagramma - well done finishing the work project. You were missed though. It was a shame to lose the big trees but the one by my craft room was dropping limbs like crazy and the biggest one that dropped hit the oak on the other side of the door and damaged it sufficiently that between cleaning up the damage and cutting back from the roof...it was mostly be a trunk so it came down also. The other pine was was a pine on our property line that had been struck by lightning and killed - since we knew it was dead, we would have been liable for damages if it fell and damaged our neighbour's property - cheaper to take it down now than do repairs later. We still have plenty of large trees - mostly oaks (water and live), a couple more sweet gums, a couple of magnolias, and some smaller trees - mainly crepe myrtle.

Just popping in quickly to brag - DD17 and her team are the Division 3 STATE CHAMPIONS!!!! (academic team) And glad your tree removal is all done, but it's sad to see the trees go... Will you plant more this year to take their place?

Thanks grammadeeno, not planting new trees - our yard is pretty full of trees still anyway so ... thinking of putting flower pots on the stumps by the house though - and maybe a gnome or two.

I'll bet gnomes on stumps are cute. Were you able to watch DD on live stream Linda? My day turned out completely different than I thought it would. DS2 and I went downtown to Westport, which is the music district, had lunch at little place called Room 39. Mmmmm such good food. Then wandered around a little. It was spur of the moment which is rare for me, and it was a good time. Got home just in time for my mom to call and have a two hour conversation lol. We haven't done that in a long while. Chores and errands today. I did sneak a little scrapping in here and there.

What is your Monday looking like? Hoping the day--and the week--is shaping up nicely for all the Pokeys! How are you doing, nylene? Are you at home yet? Linda, is your dd having a tournament hangover? They all must have been so pumped about their win! Did they have a chance to do anything else at Universal? When we were there, Universal was hosting a high school band competition and the kids were out and about in the parks and restaurants. I got to talk to a few of them in one of the coffee shops as I was waiting for my crew to return from some rides. I didn't get very far in my search for gnomes on stumps, but I am sure AussieMeg could AI some! Check out the hockey gnome she created and shared HEREjoyfulnana, that sounds like a wonderfully relaxing weekend! Out here in the middle of nowhere, impromptu afternoons like your Saturday would have to be planned way ahead, and require a LOT of driving! Did you get any scrapping done? It is a dull Monday morning here, not sure if it wants to be spring or fall... Yesterday was a balmy 12C and calm for once so nice outside. Today is chilly, about 4C, and a "mix of snow and rain" has been promised. Brrrr... Hoping the snow part doesn't arrive, but we could definitely use some RAIN! I need to drive our income tax stuff to the accountant on Wednesday, and then plan to drive to the Calgary area on Friday, so please no snow! I ran out of printed hockey photos to scrap, so am working on some cards. Hoping to print the rest of the pic's I need either Wednesday this week, or Monday next week, so haven't put away any of the hockey scrapping supplies, but they have been relegated to a pile away from my scrap counter so they don't distract me while I play with florals and rainbows.

Good morning Pokies! We have the concrete guy coming today to repair the driveway. The tree debris people came over the weekend to clear the debris pile - took 2 huge trucks on Saturday and then they came back for a partial load on Sunday. Tomorrow is the drainfield repair - finally! I can't wait. Then the rest of the week will be deepcleaning my house and LAUNDRY. Oh and the well is acting up so DH is calling about that today. Please pray for quick, easy, and inexpensive. grammadee - DD17 was so worn out from being around people all day everyday for so many days in a row that she came home and stayed in her room to decompress. She did have a wonderful time and they did have 2 days in the parks I think it was. Sorry your morning is so dreary - I hope you get rain but no snow. I loved that hockey gnome that AussieMeg made!

when it rains, it pours. Tree guys and concrete guys came to start fixing the driveway, well guys show up - they did a bandaid fix on the well and will be back once the driveway is finished because to fix it requires their truck and with the driveway out of commission...They did say it was good they were able to do the bandaid fix BEFORE the driveway guys started mixing the concrete because otherwise it probably would have burnt out the well pump. I'm done...so done. At least this repair is probably going to be fairly reasonable UNLESS they find more wrong than expected once they start repairing it - which probably won't be until late this week (concrete needs to cure 72 hrs) or early next week.
The only silver lining is that since we'll still be on water restrictions until the well is fixed, my deepcleaning the house will be postponed another week and I'll be able to hop on the daytime crops.

Blast from the past. grammadee made me these cards between 2008-2010. I didn’t make cards back then so I was really impressed by these and had them in a frame for the past 14 years.

So sweet that you saved those cards, justjac. I had forgotten about those fun snowmen! Wonder if I can find that stamp? And cool that I saw them in the middle of a cardmaking mini binge. Shared some today and have another set that just need sentiments so I should be able to share tomorrow. Linda I hope your contractor challenges are over soon. It is so frustrating when things are not working and it seems that the people who can help just don't care. Taking income tax stuff in tomorrow. Plan to print a bunch of photos when I am there. And do a ton of errands that get put off until there is a "reason" to make the drive. That includes looking at upright freezers. Dd needs one for her garage before the next beef is butchered. It seemed like there was no rush: we have known about the butcher date since October. But I guess it is the middle of April already and the animals will be taken in next week. There is usually a delay before meat is cut and wrapped and frozen and ready for pickup, but even the big box stores don't stock appliances any more. You have to look through all the floor models and then they order one in for you.

Linda I'm sorry you are still waiting on the drain field to fixed. At least all of these things will be taken care of, but all at once is so hard. I can relate to DD being drained by that much time with people. I'm the same and it seems to be worse as I get older lol. Those are wonderful cards grammadee thanks for sharing those justjac, what a blast from the past! Even living in the city, I'm not a spontaneous person by nature so it was kind of a big deal to do something as small as that lol. Good luck freezer shopping. It looks more and more like things will be more of a pre-order or order online system. The pandemic really did a number on the way places do business and the inventory they are willing to carry. Storms here yesterday and today it will be beautiful. Otherwise it's been a pretty quiet week and I'm ok with that. I've worked on my Jan-Feb PL pages, but haven't finished the 12x12 that is patiently waiting for me to come back. I'm going to make more an effort to sneak in a few minutes here or there through the day on that one. Planning to open a crop Friday night if anyone is going to be around! AussieMeg I haven't played with AI at all but your flower stickers came out pretty well. I could turn that into such a time suck I'll bet lol.

Thanks for the sympathy on the contractor woes...our saga continues. grammadee - good luck freezer shopping. I've been fortunate that our big box stores do still stock a small number of big appliances so if one doesn't mind a limited selection, you can usually get one same day or next day for delivery. Otherwise, yes, it has to be ordered. Good luck finishing up the 12x12 joyfulnana. I am hoping to join in Friday night. We have to drop off DD in the city but I think that's closer to lunchtime (no school Friday and she's headed to the Keys for a snorkalling campout - how fun). I got all but one February layout done - the last one I should get done tonight or tomorrow. DD's welding teacher had posted a group photo of the girls in the welding classes. But I decided I needed an individual photo of DD in her welding gear. She finally took one yesterday when she stayed after to do make up work in welding (since she missed several days of class for the competition) and I sent it in this morning to get printed. I'll have DH pick it up when he picks her up from school this evening. Hoping to get some sewing done this morning before joining the crop in the afternoon.

Good morning everyone. Winter has returned here this morning. It's actually gotten worse since I got up. It's a little blizzardy. grammadee are you still coming to town? This is organization week with the Awesome Ladies Project. We meet and do a Q&A for 1/2 hour or so and then keep the Zoom open while we all organize for another hour or so. It's from 5-7 MST so supper is a bit late this week! Yesterday was paper, but I am going to have to keep working on that today, too. It's the hardest for me and the one I have worked on the least. I already did stamps and pocket cards last month. I have about two inches of paper ready to give away so far. I also need to get my scraproom clean so my nieces can use the beds up there when they come to visit in early May.

Hi Pokeys! Hey - nylene - I know typing is miserable for you right now. Have you tried using your ipad, and voice dictating instead? When you hit "reply" and the keyboard pops up, you just tap the little microphone icon at the bottom under the "return" key and then talk. Might be a way you could chat with us! I hope you are mending well. I think of you when my shoulder is giving me a hard day (meaning: moving/packing is not good for dodgy shoulders!) and I think I should go get it fixed, but I don't want to have my right arm in a sling/useless for 6 weeks! justjac and grammadee , I'm glad the weather is normal SOMEWHERE! We have flowers and trees budding. That doesn't normally happen for another month. It's crazy warm. Scares me. But hard not to enjoy I called in sick to work today - my back is twingey and my throat is tickly and I'm just worn out! I might pop into the crop today, but if I get started on packing I know I'll just keep slogging with that. joyfulnana - I won't be around to crop tomorrow - Katie and I are going to a dance comp in Niagara Falls (her kids are dancing, and since she teaches now she should be there) and we're meeting up with friends to go over to Buffalo and go to Target and Trader Joes and maybe even I'll try Joanne. These are exciting things to a Canadian! I am grateful to live this close to things that they are day trips. We close on the house next Friday.

Hi nylene - I hope you're continuing to improve. Cool idea to post by voice dictation - kitbopSo we fired the drainfield company and have hired a new one. Less money, hopefully better communication and customer service, and they'll be here on Tuesday. Well guys will be here either tomorrow or Monday. Concrete guys came by today to pick up the old concrete and remove the forms. Hopefully by Wednesday I can start catching up on laundry and cleaning. I would love good thoughts on getting our refund from the first company easily and quickly. Thanks I've been enjoying the daytime crops - and getting lots done. Looking forward to our crop tomorrow. It's gotten hot here - into the 80s - I'm not ready for that.

Hey Pokeys! Wow, so we have all kinds of weather going on lol. grammadee and justjac stay safe. We have been in the 80s earlier this week, and had good thunderstorms the past two days and now it's barely 48, cold and windy lol. Linda I'm sending allll the good thoughts for a quick and easy refund! I'll bet laundry and housework never sounded so good. Yay nylene!! Don't worry about trying to tag anyone, it's just good to see you pop in kitbop have fun!! Although I have no idea why you would pass on a crop with me for a fun trip with DD I haven't finished that page yet. But I should be able to get it finished tomorrow night. Hope to see some of you, I know we are getting to that time of year when life gets busy, so don't feel pressured. I'm doing this for my own accountability more than anything. slow progress is still progress If I didn't open these every week I would spend the evening vegging on the sofa lol.

I was going to post this in the morning, but decided to do it now in case I forget.
Friday to Monday, I will be at my ds's home in Airdrie, near Calgary. Driving there tomorrow. So, again, no Pokey crop... Even to chat.
Today was a hurry up and wait kinda day. Managed to order the upright freezer this morning. Then spent quite a bit of time getting information about Senior medical diagnosis clinics, hoping to find one that can unravel all dh's medical issues. The best in the province is in Calgary (5 hours away), second best is in Edmonton (2 1/2 hours). They have complete medical teams, can review his medical file before his 2-3 hour appointment and order further tests &/or contact other specialists for information if they think they need more to complete the picture, even before they meet him. They then can change prescriptions, make referrals for surgeries &/or procedures, and make recommendations to local healthcare professionals. There is a third option in a nearby small city, but it is just one doctor in the office, and he spends time with the patient first and orders tests/information later. I think he may be a good fallback person after the whole assessment, but hoping dh will agree to a referral to the Edmonton clinic. He listened to what I relayed to him today, then asked me to check with our ddil who is a home care nurse in the Calgary area, so I will be asking her questions this weekend.
Okay. Off to bed...
Dh has finished his tax info (deadline in Canada is April 30th, but we needed to get it into the accountant in time for them to submit), so I spent the evening sending his stuff electronically to them. Mine went in yesterday in hard copy. Hope this is all they need.

well guys came bright and early this morning and finished up in enough time for me to go with DH to drop off DD17 for her snorkalling trip. They even dug up my roses instead of driving over them (we knew there was a possibility they might have to drive through them to reach the well). We'll replant tomorrow in a different spot.
Poor DD - after we dropped her off, she somehow managed to face plant and give herself a nosebleed and break her phone case (phone is fine - thank you Otterbox). Nose looks a bit swollen in photo but she's says it's fine.
cropped this afternoon and got some more May 2015 photos done.
