Happy April! Just popping in to say hi! Hope you all are having a nice weekend. I've been deep in art and look forward to taking a break this weekend. Waving hi to nylene and praying for you.

Thanks for hosting last night joyfulnana. It was just so nice to chat with nylene - what a surprise! And we had such a good turnout. grammadee - extra pie - yum! Glad your DH's legs are improving and that he has another appointment tomorrow. How was IKEA joyfulnana? We need to get over there and get a couple of bookcases - one of our old ones (which has been moved too many times) has collapsed. But it's nearly 2 hrs and weekends are busy... Did you get the organiser? Anything else fun? My favourite treat at IKEA is the salt liquorice. scrappyrabbit -sounds like an excellent weekend - Bruce Springsteen? Enjoy!! kellyr21 - hello - looking forward to seeing the art when it's finished - you're so talented. Busy day here today. 2hr phone call with my Bestie - scrapped during it. Then dropped DD off at school for a 6-hr academic team practise - they leave for States on Wednesday. Went to a nearby small town to check out their thrift store - got a stack of books and some scrappy stuff. There was a community yard sale so checked that out as well. Went out to lunch in our town and had to swing by the house to drop off my leftovers. Then Ollies, HL, Aldi, and Publix ...home to put away groceries and then it was time to collect DD - swung into Walmart on the way home and picked up dinner for DD at Jersey Mikes. Hoping to scrap a little more tonight but we'll see how much energy I have after chores, lol

wow Linda that's a busy day! I didn't go to Ikea after all, I realized that's a multi hour trip, and it was getting late in the day. I'm going to plan better and get there earlier next weekend. I was thinking a quick trip in and out when I made that plan yesterday LOL. I know better lol. So I took myself out to El Maguey for a late lunch/early dinner and a quick trip to Walmart lol. I have decided against the organizer. I have a desk organizer that is about the same size and has sections that can work in a similar way, so I'll go with that for now. I can even fit 12x12 paper in it if I angle it just a bit. I impulsively buy things like that and then they ultimately don't work for me lol. Hi kellyr21, are you deep into a painting? I need to be deep into some sort of something crafty today. I've been cleaning up my table, and organizing my next Abby pages. The weather is beautiful here today, I hope you are all having a great weekend!

joyfulnana - IKEA does take some planning sometimes. I'm glad you have something that'll work for you instead of the organiser I made cards this morning and then we went to the city for DD's Girl Scout meeting. Stopped at Michaels - would you believe that they had Antartica stickers? We also checked out the new Barnes and Noble but didn't buy anything. DD wanted to go to Target so we stopped there on the way home. Is anyone planning on eclipse viewing tomorrow? We're only getting a partial - about 60-70% I think - but I picked up glasses and will check it out.

Good afternoon Pokeys. Nowhere near direct view of the eclips here. Didn’t notice much difference in the light. Linda your last few days sound crazy busy! joyfulnana, IKEA scares me. Certainly not a place you could just duck into quickly to grab something! I am up to my ears in hockey themed scrappy supplies. My next project will probably be a sample for this next Saturday’s sketch. Still 3 more hockey players to scrap, and the oldest dgs sent me an overhead shot of him reffing a Junior A game, so I think he wants a page…

grammadee - and today was very quiet to make up for a busy weekend. I took a camp chair and my book and eclipse glasses and sat outside reading and watching the sun for a couple of hours. We had 66% so a decent partial.

our Pokey thread is so quiet - everyone must be busy!
DD17 left this afternoon for the state Academic Team competition - it's being hosted at Universal. She'll be back on Sunday. Tomorrow should be a scrappy day - today was a tax filing day...not my favourite but it's done for another year - but Friday is shaping up to be busy and I'm not sure it I'll make it on the Pokey crop or not. We have the tree people coming in the morning and then we're going to an auction for the welding program in the evening in hopes of buying an adorable green frog that DD17 welded from horseshoes.

Wow! Academic camp at Universal! What a cool experience for your dd, Linda! And so cool that you will be bidding on her horseshoe frog! Any word of--or from-- nylene? I so miss seeing her sweet comments in this thread. Impulsive buying, joyfulnana? What would I know about THAT? I went to the Jaded Blossom site to check out their pic's of how to use the gnomie sports add-ons, and discovered they are now releasing an add on set for MOTORCYCLES! No use even saying I will resist LOL. And I found out that MFT was sold out of something I didn't even knew existed, checked it out, decided I absolutely NEEDED it, and clicked on "Notify Me". Got the e-mail and guess what else will be wending its way to me... How is the packing going, kitbop? And how is your mom settling in to her new digs, justjac? I have been scrapping something every day for a few days and that feels right to me. All the hockey pages are coming together. One more kid's adventures MUST be scrapped, and all the new pages stowed in their album, before next weekend (the 20th) when I will be heading down Calgary way. I am going to have to pull the Christmas LO's out of the Winter album to make room, but I often do that and it's nice to have Christmas albums to leave lying around in the holiday season. I had thought I could join the crop this Friday evening, but now Mikey is coming for a sleepover at the farm. And the next week I will already be at my ds's. Hoping to pop onto Melissa's crop tomorrow morning. Maybe I will get that last kid's pages done! Okay, off to bed. It is amazing how tired I can get from getting nothing done...

It is quiet here Linda! Hope your DD has a *blast* at the competition. That sounds like an amazing trip. grammadee - you are so busy! You transition well - you seem to go from a trip to caretaking to scrapbooking smoothly. I don't have that skill - it takes me a while to "come down" from a trip or change in my homebody routine. I'm just quietly packing away but inside my body and head are yelling at me about the change in routine. My intestines are unhappy with me this morning but work will probably settle them down because at least that is routine! Now that we've got the 20' cube in the driveway, we are "scheduling" when to put furniture and boxes inside. I'd like to get the big things in first because we can move the boxes ourselves if we need to, and I'm pretty sure our whole house isn't going to fit into that cube, so we have to prioritize. However, most furniture is a) trapped by boxes or b) in use. It's very annoying. Not sure I'm coping well. Just keep swimming! Hoping joyfulnana and gramma will still be able to crop on Friday even if you two can't. Otherwise I won't have motivation to sit down and take a break.

grammadee - of course your gnomies need a motorcycle! Hope to see you on the crop this morning kitbop - (((Hugs))) change is hard. I will try and pop in to the crop when we get home if I can tomorrow. Rainy, stormy today so a good day for working on scrapbooking and other inside projects.

Just a note to let you know I am still here. I can't believe how much I sleep. I guess that is necessary for healing. The pain is becoming less but getting dressed and ready for the day takes a whole morning of energy, to then be repeated at night. I have tried typing but it doesn't work with the sling on. Without the sling I can do a little more, but not enough to keep up with you all. Each day is a little better. If there is a crop tomorrow I will try to join for a short time.
Sending hugs and thanks for your thoughts and prayers. I miss you all.

Hey-o! Linda congrats to DD!! What an awesome trip! I hope you win the frog, I would love to see it! kitbop it's so frustrating knowing how or where to begin when the things you want to get to have to be dug out. I'll be here Friday, and you have my permission to take a scrappy break p grammadee have fun with DGS this weekend. He is always welcome to join in and crop as well, we know he loves playing with paper too. He's a boy after our crafty hearts lol. Rudy is so weird. He is not shy by any stretch but he also doesn't like being the center of attention, so he avoids the peas seeing him on screen when he's here lol. That would be fun to get Mikey, Alex and Rudy in a crop together lol. I can't wait to see what you do with your gnomies on their new ride. Man, I feel you on how tiring it is to do nothing. But it takes so much energy to DO! LOL. nylene so good to see you popping in. Reading how much energy it takes to get dressed in the morning, might have me convinced that getting dressed is overrated lol. Sleep as much as you need, and take care of yourself! We miss you, but we want you healed . I'll be here Friday for anyone that wants to pop in to crop or chat.

Hey everyone. I hope to pop into the crop for a little bit. nylene it was so good to see you last week. grammadee Mom seems to be doing well in the new place. She's arranging things and figuring out what she actually wants to keep. Have fun with Mikey this weekend. I might have to go on a crafty freeze for a bit. For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to get a new desk from IKEA and a fancy chair from Staples all in the same month. I did need a new chair to support my back better, but it could have waited! My new desk is basically the same one I already have (two Alex drawer units and a top), but I'm going to put it on the other side of the room, so I can have a scrapping desk and a cutting desk and not have the sun shining in my eyes. I have so many library books to read in the next couple weeks. I don't know if I am going to have time to finish them. I will need to quit scrolling and watch less tv for a bit. Good luck with the packing kitbop. I hate packing for trips, for crops, let alone for moving. I was so happy when DH agreed to sell his place and move into mine just because I wouldn't have to pack up! Congrats to your dd Linda. She is having so many fun adventures this year.

So good to see you guys last night! I always feel so energized while scrapping with everyone. Linda good luck to DD! I was going to go to IKEA today, but I already know, I don't need the organizer that has us all running there lol. And while I would love a new desk, or kallax unit or Alex drawers, I'm going to hold off. I want to be thoughtful about what will really work and how I want it to be organized. I'm really good at buying things to organize and then they don't work the way I had imagined. I don't NEED a new table. I WANT one lol. Besides that, setting up and tearing down my space is just going to take away time I could be actually making. I do need to get out and get groceries and maybe stop by Joann for some cardstock. Our men's soccer team Sporting KC is hosting the team Lionel Messi plays for today. And the soccer stadium is too small for all the people that want to see Messi, so they are playing over here at arrowhead. Game day traffic oh joy lol. At least it's an evening game and I'll be tucked in here at home before it starts lol. I hope all the pokey's have a good weekend!

Thanks gramma - we're so proud of her! (and her teammates!) Longer update since I've only popped in lately. Yesterday the trees came down - 4 of them - one small, three BIG. That was an all day project and the tree guys did a fabulous job! The ground shook when they landed though and there are dents in the lawn from the weight. They tried so hard to avoid the driveway by setting up logs to catch the tree and take the weight but they just missed the logs and there's a big crater in the driveway. Someone is coming out Monday to repair it though. Our driveway is old and super thin (2" thick at max) concrete so they'll have to cut out that whole section and replace it. The house looks so different without the two big trees on either side of the door and my craft room has SO much more light. This is a before picture from March when they took down the limb that fell from the sweet gum and caught in the live oak And this is the after picture with both the sweet gum and live oak gone my craft room is the two windows on the left

Congrats to DD! That's fabulous! Wow, everything looks so different without the trees. I would love the extra light. But. Seriously, you don't need a year of house emergencies, so I hope once the driveway and drain field are done, that's it for you for a very long time. We missed you gramma. But man. How could you even forget us?!

But, man, I grew up in the Redwood country in Northern California. I love big trees!
