Hey, guys, I forgot it was Friday yesterday! As I was getting in bed I said something to Steve about Friday plans tomorrow and he reminded me that today was Friday. I am sorry I missed out last night. It was a big day. It was my first real outing. Em took Steve for a haircut and I sat in the car and visited with her until he was finished. They took me home and spent over an hour trying to get his phone number from his old android to his brand new Apple phone the kids gifted him. His phone bill is paid by the GC since he is still working from home for them. It took the secretary at work to be physically in the T-mobile store, showing her ID to authorize the change. The new phone has an e-sim card so they couldn't just switch sim cards. Doug spent 2 hours after work setting it up and helping to link his hearing aids to it. I think when he gets past the frustration of everything being a bit different he will be really happy with it. linda , I am glad you are finally getting some results with all the problems that have plagued you lately. I hope you get the refund quickly and without much effort. Sorry about DD's fall, but what a lot of fun experiences she has had with her GS troop. Hope the nose heals quickly. justjac and grammadee , I can't believe your cold weather. We have cold days and snow flurries and then the next day it is clear and warm. Typical Spring weather in Utah. I'm sorry your area thinks it's not yet Spring. I have taken off my sling for a while this morning. It feels good to let the air hit it. I have to keep my elbow touching my side, but can type with both hands and actually made a birthday card for Eddie. I think I will try to do this a little each day. 2 more weeks. Missing all of you!

nylene - you were missed but joyfulnana and I had fun scrapping together (at least I know I did). Sorry about all the troubles with the phone. I have a friend who has hearing aids linked to her iphone and it's so helpful for her - I hope it is for Steve as well. Sounds like you're making progress with the shoulder. (((Hugs))) it's been a long road for you. No overdoing it though mind you! DD says she feels better today. She saw dolphins (including a baby) and wild flamingoes today - she took pictures, yay! I replanted the rose bushes that the well guy dug up - he would have but we decided to relocate them so they won't be in the way in the future. Tuesday is the drainfield so hopefully that's the end of the house stuff for a good long time. I'm going to have to do so much laundry and housework once it's finished. gramma -I'm sorry that your team had a rough game.

Sorry you missed us nylene! Linda I had fun too! gramma how can it already be NBA playoff time?! It seems like I just watched last years finals a couple of months ago lol. I haven't been following this year, but omg I found out there is drama surrounding the warriors and there is nothing that can lure me in faster than drama LOL! Now I have to figure out who to root for lol. This ended up being a Rudy weekend lol. He slept over, and we have started watching the Harry Potter movies. I haven't read any of the books or seen the movies, so we've decided that the Harry Potter series is "our show" on his weekends lol. I tried to get him out of here for awhile today and he's as much of a homebody as me. So home we stayed lol. I watched a few videos from the organization summit, but ultimately decided I wasn't in the right mindset for it and let that go.

nylene I'm so glad to here you are on the mend. We are back to having spring again. A friend's daffodils are up and beautiful. joyfulnana and Linda I'm sorry I missed you Friday. My Awesome Ladies Project organization week get together was at the same time. My room is not quite clean yet, but I organized all my pattern paper and am destashing about 8 inches of it. I'm currently putting away all the new stamp sets I bought in the last year, so I have to purge a few more sets to get them to all fit. I'm finding all kinds of things that I forgot I owned. The main goal though is to get the room clean and vacuumed so my nieces can sleep up there when they come to town for a dance competition on international scrapbook weekend. grammadee and I have our bookclub meeting on Wednesday, and we are going to an escape room. It should be fun. We will talk about the book at the coffee shop after our adventure. Have a great week everyone.

Good evening, Pokeys. Hope you are all well. So good to see your avatar pic show up, nylene. Glad you can sit at the computer without the sling. I hope all heals quickly. I drove home today, arriving a couple of hours ago. I'm exhausted, so won't chat long. My gut decided to pull an evil trick on me while at my son's home, and I spent Saturday night in pain and making trips to the bathroom every hour or so. But the pain was already starting up Saturday afternoon so I put myself on a liquid diet. The plan had been to go out for supper a couple of times, but Saturday night they ordered in for them, and Sunday they made a simple meal and I had chicken noodle soup. I thought I was going to ask someone to run me in to urgent care Sunday morning, but finally about 5:30AM the worst of it eased off. But I was still on small bits of bland soft foods. I managed some tea this morning and a couple of poached eggs with a slice of toast when I stopped in Edmonton, some rice pudding when I got home. That was longer than I thought it would be. Heading to bed now.

Just sticking my head around the corner to say "I miss you guys!". Linda - glad your well/drain field/tree saga is coming to a close grammadee- I'm so sorry your guts acted up while you were there but very glad you knew how to take care of them and avoided and ER visit! Feel better. nylene - glad you are seeing some progress and got an outing - good for the mental health! justjac - funny, Katie is heading to an escape room Wednesday as well - her first time. Have fun! Moving is just so messy and complicated. I knew I was dreading it for a reason. I've also picked up a bug in Niagara Falls and I'm feeling super rotten, but my tylenol and ibuprofen aren't digested yet so I'm trying to convince myself to go to work and hopefully get through the day. Ugh.

grammadee I hope you feel better soon. Any idea what triggers your guts to choose violence? kitbop I think we are on the same posting schedule lol. I hope you are feeling better soon too. Getting a bug or feeling off never happens at a convenient time - like maybe wait until you are not in the middle of a big move? I hate moving, but oddly enough I love unpacking into a new place. I guess I hate the packing and actual moving part lol. I've finally been checking out the sharing thread, Linda I love all the kitty pages, I think your cat crimes was my favorite of the ones I've seen so far, too cute lol. How is DD doing? No broken nose I hope.

kitbop - I hope you're feeling better soon. There's never a good time to be sick but in the midst of a move is not helpful. I do like packing and unpacking - I'm a bit weird like that -but I also grew up moving - nine houses in 4 countries by the time I was 13. joyfulnana - thank you. DD is doing ok - just a little battered around the edges. The nose looks straight just a bit black and blue. Drainfield installation is commencing -I'm sure you're all tired of my house repair saga but it's almost at an end - thery said they should be done by noon or so.

I hope you're feeling better grammadee and kitbop. Good luck with the drainfield Linda. I finished organizing my stamps last night. I had to get rid of 6-8 old sets to make room for new ones. It was sad, but I can't just keep buying new storage. I already have more than I can ever use. Work is slow. There's only two months left so attendance gets a lot worse. I have 2-4 students in class most days, but still 10 registered. It's hard for me to be motivated when all I want to do is scrapbook or read or knit. I might do week in the life. A very simple version. I'm taking a screenshot of the weather and an outfit of the day picture. Then if I have other pictures I'll include them.

Drainfield is DONE! Not without more drama though. Guy rings the doorbell - is your electric working because we just cut a wire but not where your DH said the electric was. Yes - my power and internet were both still working. Ok - we go look at the wire and conclude it must have been an old wire (the electric company re-did our meter to transfor wiring shortly after we moved in).
Guy rings the doorbell again - the wire is live. No one was hurt but it did arc. So we call the electric company. They came out. It is indeed the old wire BUT it wasn't disconnected from the transformer when they hooked up the new wire. Electric company is blaming the contractors they hired to do the job. The rest of us are blaming the electric company. But it's been disconnected now and apparently this "happens all the time"...imo, it shouldn't.
County inspector was here for the latter part of this and he shared that the previous job site he had been at this morning, they hit a gas line and had flames shooting into the air. Apparently it was a city line and the city had no record of it being there. Awesome
Grabbing lunch and then starting to catch up on laundry and housework.

Linda, so glad you finally got your drainfield fixed without too much excitement. You would think the electric co. would make sure old wires left in the ground are not still live! Glad you didn't have shooting flames too. It's your turn for some boring months now without any home improvements necessary. kitbop, being sick while moving is the worst! I hope you are feeling some better and that the moving goes smoothly. I moved twice while almost ready for delivery of my first 2 children. It was miserable. Take care of yourself. I am so happy you found the right home. grammadee, I am so sorry that you are having gut problems again. Have you figured out what triggers them? I hope you are doing better and back to your Energizer Bunny self. Waving to all the Pokeys. I feel so removed. I am trying to do as many things as possible around the house without wearing myself out and not hurting my shoulder. I spent a while this morning working in my scraproom, not accomplishing much. Every day gets a little better though.

Thanks nylene - I'm more than ready for some quiet boring inexpensive months. I'm glad that you're improving AND not overdoing things. I'm sure it's hard being patient while it heals. kitbop and grammadee - I hope you're both feeling better Yesterday we went into the city for the library booksale. Today I'm back to housework. Planning to join the Friday crop tomorrow if joyfulnana or kitbop set one up.

I would like to try cropping tomorrow Linda, joyfulnana, nylene, justjac - but - between being sick (turns out I do have strep, I just got back from the doctor. This makes be happy because it explains why I feel so dang rotten but it's a quick fix!) and getting possession of the new house tomorrow I'm not sure which way the wind we be blowing! So glad your drainfield is done Linda! That's a crazy thing with the live wire. grammadee - feeling OK yet? nylene - I'm glad you see improvement, but I can't wait until you are back with us. justjac - work can be frustrating and hard to put up with when things are quiet. I personally do best when kept busy so the day goes quickly. Did you sell the stamp sets you are getting rid of? How did you choose to sell them (like 2 peas, or at an LSS, or facebook marketplace)?

I hope you feel better kitbop. I actually just gave them away (or some of them.) I took my destash stuff to the crop grammadee and I went to and offered them for free. Not all the stuff got claimed so I think I will donate the rest of it to a garage sale they're going to have at work. I'm not sure if someone crafty will know what a goldmine my box of stuff is, but I hope they will. grammadee and I and our book club friends managed to solve the escape room with 6 minutes to spare. It was a lot of fun, but we weren't sure we'd actually get out in time. I will try and hit the crop for an hour or so. This weekend we have to get the house ready for my sister-in-law and nieces to visit next weekend. The girls have a dance competition. There is much cleaning to do! DH and I also have dinner theater tickets for Barefoot in the Park on Saturday. Hope to see some of you tomorrow.

Yay that the drain field is finally done! But holy moly that live wire had to be scary. It's got to be good to be able to do laundry again. kitbop come say hi if you feel up to it later. I hope you feel better soon. I've never had strep and neither have either of the kids, so I have no idea how yucky it feels but I'm sure it's no fun. How are you feeling grammadee? I hope you are getting some rest. justjac the end of the school year is hard. I would be tempted to be bringing in some knitting or a book lol. I'll be here tonight 7:30 EST! I'm looking forward to it! Work is steady but it feels like it's starting to tip into a lot for only 2 of us, and they are asking we keep OT to a minimum. So I'm always feeling slightly behind. In the email I got from SG it looks like Shimelle has a new line? I haven't seen any of her lives for at least a month, I had no idea a new one was coming. But I'm glad she seems to be back for at least awhile anyway. I haven't looked at it yet, but SG has it up for preorder. Waving hi to all the Pokey's!

Hey Pokeys! Happy Friday! Looks like everyone is having a busy week. Wow, homeschoolmom! A LIVE WIRE? And a GAS FIRE (even if that was on a different property)? Here no contractor can begin digging until all utilities have not only signed off on the site plans, but sent someone out to check that underground wires and lines are actually where they are supposed to be. Glad everyone went unscathed. kitbop, I hope you are feeling better now that you have the medication, but a move is exhausting even when you are on full power, so I am thinking of you this weekend. So good to hear from you, nylene. So sweet that you are asking about others. Please look after yourself. It was fun to go to the escape room with justjac and the book club. Not sure how much help I was, but I did notice a few clues, I guess. Will post a pic in a bit. Dd left for Hawaii yesterday, so it's dgs and the pets and the grandparents until next Friday. Yesterday we went to the Seniors' pancake supper. Grampa just left to drop him off at school before his own appointment. Today is packed: I am volunteering at the school for his Jump Rope for Heart event. And I have tickets through the school for the 4:30 performance of the circus in the next town, so we will head to that when Jump Rope is over. I think I need to start mainlining caffeine now...

A LIVE WIRE? And a GAS FIRE (even if that was on a different property)? Here no contractor can begin digging until all utilities have not only signed off on the site plans, but sent someone out to check that underground wires and lines are actually where they are supposed to be. Glad everyone went unscathed. Contractors (and home owners doing their own digging) have to contact a state digsafe line 2 business days in advance and get utility notification of where lines etc... are. It sounds to me like the gas line wasn't on the gas utility records. I assume my contractor reached out as he knew where our electric and internet lines were so someone dropped the ball on the old lines. I will say that the electric company guy sounded very surprised when he checked the line "It IS live!" so apparently that was news to them also. I think I need to start mainlining caffeine now... mainlining caffeine sounds wise. You'll need a long nap when DGS and the pets go home. Moving slowly myself today - wasn't feeling 100% when I got DD up for school so went back to bed for a bit. Feeling a bit better now but still a bit meh.

kitbop, I am so sorry you have strep! Please take care of yourself. I'm sure the fatigue that comes with strep is not helping with the moving. grammadee, it sounds like you are burning the candle at both ends. Mainlining caffeine? LOL. I love the photo of you and justjac winning the escape room. I am so very claustrophobic that I would never, ever do that. You are both brave. justjac, I hope that the end of the year comes with still a few students coming to learn. That's sad that it slacks off so much. Barefoot in the Park sounds like lots of fun. joyfulnana, if things get really busy, will they hire someone to help you? I know that it's huge stress when you are always feeling behind at work. THanks for starting a crop tonight. I plan to join in. I cut enough paper to make some thank you cards. We planned meals for all this time I would not be able to use my arm, but we still had friends bring meals a couple of times. I would like to send a thank you. gramma, will you be on the crop tonight or are you ball gaming or gallivanting tonight? Linda, I hope that you can now catch up on laundry and other things that get behind when waiting for repairs, etc. Here we have to call Blue Stakes before doing any digging. The various companies will come out and mark all utility lines. But I guess that wouldn't help if the lines are not on the maps. kellyr21, how is your big painting going? Are you working on any smaller ones too? Today I totally dressed myself! I got my compression socks on and even my sling without help! It is a small victory. A bit better every day.

I hope that you can now catch up on laundry and other things that get behind when waiting for repairs, etc laundry is just about caught up - today should do it. Deep cleaning the house is going a bit slower but progress is happening. Today I totally dressed myself! I got my compression socks on and even my sling without help! It is a small victory. A bit better every day. woohoo! Compresssion socks are tough sometimes so that's especially impressive I am planning on joining the crop tonight - I'm almost done reorganising and cleaning my scrap space so hopefully can get creative. I might be a little late though - picking dd up from her review session and then grabbing some groceries means I might not get dinner done before the crop starts.

nylene I plan to be on tonight. Our NBA team did not make it to the playoffs. Grand-daughter's rugby season is done. Grand-son's girlfriend plays softball for UC Davis, but they are out of town this week. No NASCAR. I'm beat from planting a pickup truck full of mulch, soil and plants for my flower boxes. So - no sports and no galivanting for me. YAY for socks!!

I finished reorganising and cleaning the scrapbook section of my craft room - there's pictures in the crafty organising thread if anyone is interested
