I knew the first interview would be tougher, and it was, but not as bad as I feared. The second also went very well. It's actually sounding like a better fit than I had thought as well. One more interview on Thursday. Fingers crossed!

Wow. That's a LOT of interviews, Shakti. Sending success vibes your way so you get the job you want and when you start it you find it IS a perfect fit! Anyone doing anything crafty today? Dh has driven himself to an appointment so will be gone all morning. It is raining, so no guilt that I should be out planting something in the garden. I have the house to myself and plan to party with paper! I want to take on the May sketch from the SCT Year of Sketches class. No way I am doing the most intricate option. Will need to investigate the simpler variations.

I’m home alone too. I have one quick appointment this morning, getting the last of those plant pots out of here, and then I’m free.
I have 14 cards to share that I finished for double points weekend. I should be able to finish the rest this afternoon. I was using up 2 sheets of cut apart cards so I guess I have ten more to finish.
My scrapbook dot com order will be here tomorrow so I can make some proper Sheetload cards.

No scrapping today, unless I can sneak down to the basement later. We were gone all weekend so no time for doing anything.

I had one for a different job this morning, which also went well, then lunch with some former colleagues. These two jobs each have advantages and downsides. I suspect I could be happy at either, though neither has me over-the-moon excited. My mom's pointed out that I was absolutely over-the-moon excited about that last one and maybe that's not such an important criterion? It's a beautiful day here, before rain sets in again, so if I were a gardener, I should be doing that. I'm just kind of sitting inside enjoying the breeze from open windows and not enjoying the pollen riding on said breeze.

Woke up this morning and decided I was going to make a dent in my 6x6 PP. Found a sketch that basically uses a whole double-sided sheet per A2 card along with a little neutral card stock. Pulled out a SU pack I've ignored since purchasing and immediately started thinking it was too pretty to just blow through quickly like that. Not sure where I'm going to go with this now.... Maybe I'll check out some SLoC sketches for 6x6 ideas.

The desire to hoard is SO HARD to resist! Ha ha! Ain't THAT the truth! I spent yesterday morning putting pages together. My goal today was to start organizing the copies I have made of pages for my dgd's grad album. Picked up the mail yesterday, and discovered the albums I had ordered for her albums, although very pretty, are way too small for what I need them for. But I think I will use them anyway for the moment, just to help get pages into protectors and in some kind of order. I have an appointment in Edmonton tomorrow and had vowed not to shop for scrapbook supplies while there, but I may need to duck into a Michaels' to see what they have for albums...

Hate when that happens. The having to pop into the craft store thing. Nice that you got the pages together! I haven't actually crafted a thing. Went down a rabbit hole of looking for 6x6 pp sketches. Found a video of someone's top five SLoCs for using scraps and of course thought of you, joblackford . I have little doubt you know the exact video. I printed four of the recommended sketches: Nov 20, Nov 21, Feb 22, and Apr 22. April 22 I've had open in a browser tab for months and months, but hadn't gotten as far as printing. Of course, now I'm looking at these and wondering about using up older single-sided 6x6s, since SU sketches are more likely to require double-sided than others. Back to the craft room!

The video does sound familiar... Oh, probably Mint Twist Cards! She makes a heck of a lot of cards using scraps. I enjoy her videos but she always cuts them off without showing a lingering look at the finished cards. I suggested on one of her first videos that it would be nice to add that at the end - I know they're at the beginning and the thumbnail, but especially when I'm listening more than watching I love to see all the cards at the end! Can you share that double sided paper sketch you mentioned? I'm always happy to have another idea for blowing through a paper pad.

I thought you might be interested: link It's a little different, especially compared to a SLoC or a typical cut a sheet up and divide the matted pieced among 4 cards sort of sketches. It would be better for donations to places that don't specify blank or nearly blank insides with plenty of room to write. I still have not crafted today. I ended up back down the rabbit hole of creating myself a little cheat sheet of SLoCs by paper requirements and yields.

Happy Friday Eve, Team! Picked the August 2020 SLoC to use up a paper pad from Michael's I bought to make a different sheetload last year. Last year I made Mother's/Father's Day cards for the Altenew drive. I'm considering birthday this time, for Cards for either Cubs or Kindness, depending on how youthful they end up seeming. Or maybe encouragement for Cubs? Oh, I don't know. Here's a rather bad photo (sideways and glare-y) of progress so far: And I chose a different SLoC to use all or much of a free paper pack from SB.C which was clearly intended for pocket scrapbooking. I will feel really good if I can get rid of two 6x6 pads/pack before the new free 6x6 paper that jumped into my cart at sb.c arrives! But I've done my crafty hour for the morning. Now I get ready to meet a networking buddy for breakfast and come home to get ready for my 1 pm interview. Last one for that job! Hope everyone's having a good week and planning a wonderful weekend!

Love the soft colours, Shakti. Congrats on the Canucks' win, kitbop. I was hopeful when I checked the score before bed, but I guess it was not to be. This time... No "crafty hour" for me, this morning. I am off to "the city" today for my annual mammogram. If I am back in time, I will watch some of my dgs's first ever baseball game.

I ended up back down the rabbit hole of creating myself a little cheat sheet of SLoCs by paper requirements and yields. I like it! I don't always want to write a long message anyway. And I've also seen JMcG add cards like this onto a folding card base to make it work as a "normal" card. I'll have to have a good look through my paper and see if I have some that would work well. I quickly checked out some of their other videos too, got some ideas. I love that you're building a Sheetload cheat sheet. I sense a pattern here... I started working on the current Sheetload sketch in the official manner, found some paper that I'd been uncertain how to use that is turning out well. 6x8 paper is good for the background piece - no 2" scraps to deal like using 6x6 paper. I kept looking out the window, waiting for my scrapbook dot com order to arrive yesterday. Turned out it was still traveling and won't be here until tomorrow I got excited when they (usps) overpromised, but I originally wasn't expecting it until the end of the week so I will survive. I might go out today and enjoy the sunshine and 70s before it actually gets properly hot 80s tomorrow. I should be weeding...

This one is MUCH easier than the donation one -- mostly because the data doesn't CHANGE. I consider it done enough for now to have printed it and put it in a sheet protector in front of my SLoC printouts. I am willing to share, but it's a spreadsheet in MacOS Numbers, not Excel or GoogleWhatever, so I'm not sure how exactly to do so. I do like many of Karen's sketches and I just love the way the two of them interact in their videos. Another SU demo I know of now has her dh in some of hers, but it's just not the same. The Double One Sheet Wonder with 2 double-sided 12x6 pieces to make 11 (I think) cards is particularly brilliant. I just haven't found the right paper yet. Ah, hockey. Sigh. I was actually more relieved by game 1 of this round than game 7 of the first round. Last night's game two is exactly why! EtA: Good luck with the bewb-squishin', grammadee. Sounds to me like you deserve that quick pop into Michael's!

Interview went well! And the ex-colleague networking buddy has a final interview tomorrow for a job she's really excited about, too! Finished the cards. They apparently want to go to Cards for Cubs. Got to break out a die set I intended to use for that purpose and another I got for something else, but works. Posted here: 2peasrefugees.boards.net/post/4112952

Congrats on the Canucks' win, kitbop. I was hopeful when I checked the score before bed, but I guess it was not to be. Don't be too worried grammadee - I figure the Oilers are the stronger team and hope they beat the Canucks and can do well moving forward! Shakti - really pretty colours on your SLOCs! So happy your interview went well - fingers crossed! I'm so sorry I haven't been around - moving is honestly even harder than expected. We are in a livable space with boxes and unfinished organizing everywhere you turn. And our old house now needs to be cleaned and spruced up to be sold. So I have a LOT of work in my future, and find it hard to scrap when there is this much chaos. I need to make a true effort to do so tho, it will help my mental health.

kitbop I think we all underestimate just how disruptive moving is, even an in-town move. I hope things settle soon! We have two randomly hot days today and tomorrow. I’m so enjoying the sunshine but not sure I’m ready for the heat. Haha, what am I saying?! 82 is delightful as long as you’re not working in the sun (like my husband will be doing tomorrow). I found some paper that I’d kind of forgotten I had and started a bunch of cards using the Sheetload sketch yesterday. I think the focal point with just be a big sentiment but I’m still stewing on that. I think I have a new sentiment die set in the package being delivered today. Exciting! Happy Friday, all.

Good Friday morning, Team!
What are your plans for Mothers' Day weekend? The cards for my ddil's went into the mail on Tuesday. I have a papercrafting play date planned for here tomorrow. And dh and dgs want to take me and dd to the local pizza place on Sunday. (They have a special Mothers' Day buffet planned). So it looks like a great weekend shaping up for me.

I am pretty much as loose ends all weekend. Just picked up a second load of stuff from DK's dorm room. Final move out/come home will be Wednesday. DH will be tied up with his art project all weekend.
So, yoga and crafting tomorrow morning. Dog walk and crafting Sunday. Adulting in the afternoons. I could/should probably get a jump on some of that this afternoon. Maybe I should pull out a class that needs to be finished. Or just finish with the little use stuff up projects I have going....

What type of art project is your dh working on, Shakti? And how far is the move home for your DK? I found some paper that I’d kind of forgotten That happens to me a LOT! Glad you have a plan for it. Looks like the Western Conference is going to be a close race. Whew! We will have at least five games, kitbop. Dgs was excited cuz he has no school on Friday, so plans to come here to watch Game 5 on TV with us on Thursday. And your Av's are hangin' in, scrappinwithoutpeas. But those Bruins better pull up their socks, Shakti. Okay. Gotta get organized so I have space on the table for justjac and I to mess up...

He is working on a propane-fueled flaming pipe organ, which he'll be taking to one of the local burner festivals/fairs/whatever they call them in July.
DK is at UMass Amherst about 90 minutes drive from here. Hopefully we'll get the move finished in the third trip on Wednesday. I am prepared to make a fourth if required, but I'd rather not. Dorms shut down at 6 on Friday.
Bruins, Celtics -- it is looking so much like we're at risk of the double collapse we experienced a year ago! OK, I guess this time it's in the second round. I think both lost in the first last year. But, generally yuck! This is how rumors that Brady was the lucky charm for the entire region gain traction!

But, generally yuck! This is how rumors that Brady was the lucky charm for the entire region gain traction! Sounds like Edmonton after a heady 1980's--Five Stanley Cups for the Oilers, and four Grey Cups (Canadian Football League's answer to the Super Bowl) for the -then named--Eskimos. City council put up a sign that read "Edmonton: City of Champions". Not alot of cups since...

Edmonton got jinxed by that sign! the council should’ve known better, lol.
It’s a really hot one here today. Normal would be 60ish and cloudy, but it’s mid 80s and completely clear today. My neighbors just told me they saw the northern lights out their front windows last night despite the massive light pollution from having a Naval shipyard and base 2 blocks away!! I was asleep.
I am inside trying to stay cool after a morning in the garden. I built a half-assed raised bed out of salvaged lumber and pruned and pulled a bunch of yard waste to pile in there in an approximation of hugelkultur - filling the base of the raised bed with wood and sticks and then green yard waste layered with soil, mulch, and compost to save money on buying soil and to add nutrients, etc. It’s also a scheme to get rid of some rotting cedar boards and bits of a woodshed that we demolished without inconveniencing my husband.
I just need to figure out which plants go where tomorrow. I thought I would out dahlias there but now I think it will be a tomato and basil garden. So where should the dahlias go? Multi-step long range planning is not my strong suit… but gardens are always a WIP anyway, and if you mess up you just hide your mistakes in the compost! When something dies I tell myself I’m building the soil.

Last night the lights were supposed to start around 11, past my bedtime. I walked around looking out windows when I woke up to pee in the wee hours, but didn't see anything. I've heard they should be visible as soon as it's dark tonight, so I look forward to trying before bed tonight.
