I love the pillow and those towels - I think a trip to JoAnn's is a must for me now! I needed another color of DMC floss anyway for a cross stitch project I'm starting so I may as well pick up the Halloween things, right? Check you Joann's app too. $5 off $25, 10/50, 15/75. It applies to all sales merch. consider yourself enabled. I love the towels. I think a Joann trip will be made this morning. TFS

Seriously I love the mixers with their decals. Just awesome. I feel like mine needs one now. LOL! I'm also in love with the mixer towel pantsonfire. So, I want to tell you something funny. Last night I took the tags off that new pillow and I threw it on the couch. Jeremy laid down on the couch to take a nap and he was like, new pillows are always so firm and nice. And then he said, do you really want this to be out right now? And I was like, why not? He says, you are trying to sneak Halloween decorations out all year. LOL! I just pretended like I didn't have a clue what he was talking about. But I laughed a little inside. My skeleton, Mr. Bones is now a feature at my dining room table since Thanksgiving of 2020. After Halloween 2023, I never put away a sign on my back door that has skeleton arm and hand that says, "enter if you dare." It took him a while to notice it. But it's July now and *he* hasn't felt compelled to put it away. So... Now this pillow. Which he didn't dispute. When I failed to put the sign away last year, I thought Mr. Bones was so fun, it would be fun to have touches of Halloween out around the house all year. I'm wondering now how much I can get away with before he puts his foot down. Hahaha... We also had a discussion about the camper this weekend. He told me he is not happy with the way that the subfloor came out in the bathroom. He said he's been putting off doing any more work in there because he keeps contemplating pulling it all out and doing it over again. I told him that I'm stalling on the quilt for the same reasons. I did one row with the sashing and the top is all nice and lined up, but the bottom is not. And it's like *really* off. I haven't been able to put any effort into it the past few weeks now because it's been in the naughty corner while I get up the nerve to work on it again. He was like, yes! That's exactly what I am doing with the camper. He says, I thought we would have it all done by our September trip and that's just not looking likely. I told him that if he wants to contemplate the floor a little longer and work up to the idea of ripping it apart and redoing it, I'm in no hurry as long as we have subfloor when we have our camping trips. He told me if I wanted to put the camper quilt aside for a while and work on something else to polish up my skills before I tackle that project, he was supportive of that. Whew! So we came together with similar issues (wanting to do things the right way) and decided that if we needed more time, there was really no pressure. You know most of the time, I think that he and I have nothing in common. We are very different people. But then something like this? And I'm like, we are both more similar than we think we are.

I think itās important to you both for it to be as good as you can possibly make it. Sometimes we (general we) stall on things because we canāt see the way of getting it as we want then, when we eventually go back to it, it was not as bad completing it as we thought and we end up really proud of our work. Itās a mind thing, isnāt it, not a capability thing. You are both capable, you just have to be ready in your own head space to progress. Imvho.

cakediva that is stunning and the colours are just beautiful. Did you need to cut the yarn or did the colours fall in the exact right place? Big hugs waffles.

This particular pattern had specific spots you had to tie off end of rows even with cake style yarn. I did control the colour for a while - if it was close to a new colour at the end of a row Iād start with the new colour. But nice I got to the repeating rows I let it flow š

I donated a stack of blankets and shawls to my local charity shop yesterday, the lady who took them from me was tickled pink to receive handmade items. She asked me if I'd mind if she put some of the blankets aside for a new mum and baby I'm so happy they're going to be used after sitting untouched in a drawer under my bed for the last few years.

She asked me if I'd mind if she put some of the blankets aside for a new mum and baby I'm so happy they're going to be used after sitting untouched in a drawer under my bed for the last few years. That is wonderful! I'm sure they will be very much appreciated by the new mum. Today I am going to get some sewing done! My quilt guild is having an all day sew-in instead of the monthly meeting. Bonus is the summer location is about a 3 min. drive from my house. I've decided to start a new scrap quilt that will most likely be donated to the guild's charity efforts. String Quilt I have a couple of shoe boxes full of strips of various sizes, the white anchor strips already cut and last night cut a stack of the muslin foundation blocks. This will be an exercise in getting out of my 'matchy matchy' box and experimenting! It will be nice to have a break from the hospital routine. DD will go up and see her dad this morning and then I'll go later this afternoon.

Managed to get a block of the string quilt figured out and completed before I had to leave the sew-in yesterday. Here is what the process looked like. The solid white strip will be in the middle of each block (on the diagonal). Then you just add on random strips until the foundation block is covered. Trim the block to 8.5" square and you have a block! It was a pretty quick process once I got going. The hardest part for me will be trying not to match everything just so!

My first ever snow globe tumbler! This was so fun to make, messy but very fun. I have a couple others planned for Halloween and Christmas now that I know how it all works.

I have barely been doing any crafting. I am like in the middle of 4 books. One I'm supposed to be having a two person book club with a friend. So I have been spending as much time as my brain can handle reading.
Jeremy and I are going away 4 days next weekend for a family campout reunion. I am thinking of taking that green shawl. I am only 18 rows in. So not far at all. In fact I put it down because I got my count off, couldn't figure out where so put it in the naughty corner. Maybe I'll dig it out and take it.

I finished some socks, they were hard to photograph as the yarn is such a bright pink and the pattern has got a bit lost. I'm really pleased that they only used one 50g skein of yarn.

Every time I see your socks I feel like damn I should take up knitting. š I just love them. I am jealous of your sock collection.

Just a question for the knitters because I'm super curious. I tried knitting once and it seemed difficult for me. However, I had already been crocheting and I wasn't near as advanced as I am now. It took me a while to step up into a challenge. Knitting seemed hard to me because I didn't have someone to teach me to hold the needles correctly. However, now in my circle, there are a lot of knitters, plus a LYS that could help me better figure it out. I like my crochet for blankets and shawls so would not be interested in deviating into knitting for any of those things, however, I am super jealous of Lainey's socks. How hard would it be for a newbie to make some basic socks? Are socks one of the more difficult things to make? Where do they rate on the complexity scale in terms of knitting? I feel like I'll just go around the rest of my life with regrets (LOL) if I don't at least try to make some damn socks. And don't tell me to crochet them, crochet socks suck. Hahaha...
But just put it in perspective for me.
