Yes!! Despite glitches, supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris broke the record for the largest Zoom meeting ever and raised more than $1 million for her presidential campaign in less than an hour Thursday night. The Zoom fundraising event dubbed "White Women: Answer the Call" asked women nationwide to join the livestream chat and invite their contacts to support Harris, with speakers including the popstar Pink and actress Connie Britton. At one point, organizer Shannon Watts said more than 136,000 people joined the call. As the number of people in the Zoom call grew, the platform began to crash and glitch, eventually freezing entirely and turning over to a black screen with the message, “We’ll be right back.” It soon reloaded, showing the shocked faces of the women on the virtual call. www.rawstory.com/kamala-harris-2668817109/x.com/shannonrwatts/status/1816634633808974241I was on the call... it was fabulous! P!NK was joining in from 41k feet on her private plane, 3 am local time, having just finished a concert in Sweden. She was very inspiring as always, so real. One of my favorite humans. By 7:30 it was announced that 2 million had been raised and $ was still coming in. The internet froze 3 times... but came back pretty quickly. I was on for the entire 2 hours, and it was great for my spirits. Next call is at 7 pm Eastern on Sunday. I highly recommend!!

Early this morning...
Former President Barack Obama early on Friday morning gave a full endorsement to Vice President Kamala Harris, whom Obama says will be "a fantastic president."

No way...Who saw THAT coming? Kamala must be absolutely exhausted after all the hard work she put in earning that nomination.

I just ordered a sticker that has her shoes on it that says "Wear shoes ladies, there's glass everywhere"... or something like that. I closed out of the window before I typed this. lol. Ordered two for me (water bottle and car), two for dd, and one for ds's fiancée. From the store that was linked here.

Just got the e-mail that they're having 24% off in honor of the Olympics: 24% off in honor of the 2024 Olympics! From personal experience, I purchased a Dark Brandon mug that changed colors when you add coffee, and I accidentally knocked it off my desk and it bounced off the hardwood floors and didn't have a scratch. ETA: Code is OLYMPICS

Text from my 23 year old today. ☺️ And then she proceeded to go off on the moral purists and deep blue state leftist whiners who don’t understand what’s at stake. That’s my girl! Haha.

Text from my 23 year old today. I always give myself a few pats on the back when my dd says things like that. I need to add to these stories. My son is very much a typical upper elementary boy who loves superheroes (mostly Iron Man & Hulk), says "bro" a lot, and loves running around crazy with the boys in our neighborhood. I was reading some article about Kamala when he woke up on Monday morning and he came over to greet me. I showed him her photo and said, "that's who I'm hoping will be our next President". He paused for a second and then yells "YES!! FINALLY A WOMAN!" I about died. Then he asked me how to say her name and said, "SMASH THE PATRIARCHY!" I just can't with him. There is hope.

My t-shirt lady who is local to me (I pick up my orders, instead of having her mail them) just posted her election stuff in case anyone wanted to avoid Etsy or DIY: The Whimsy Shoppe.
ETA: I don't receive compensation for promoting her, I just genuinely like her and her products.

Many, many thanks to dawnnikol for alerting us! So, there was Black Women for Kamala organized in something like 8 hours on Sunday, if I have my numbers correct. Inspired by that, a woman whose name escapes me now spent 72 hours organizing yesterday's White Women for Kamala event. This Sunday there will be a WOMEN for Kamala event. I think you may have already posted it dawnnikol. Wanna create its own thread? Apologies if you or someone else has already done so. Will start one now if I don't see one, and please, add to it. Feeling powerful and hopeful!!!

I'm going to vent about something that is annoying the sh!t out of me right now. People who seem to purposely mispronounce her name. C'mon. It's not hard. Comma with a LU on the end. I get Trump mispronouncing it because he is an a$$hole. But everything from rhyming with Pamela, to KUH ma luh. It's stupid. I know it's a dumb thing to be bugged about. LOL No, it's not. It's important to pronounce people's names correctly! Having said that, my husband has the worst time pronouncing her name correctly, and he's behind her 100%. But he does tend to make a lot of pronunciation mistakes (which surprise me, because he is well educated and intelligent, but whatever).

I was wondering if you can put some sort of insole in them bc they seem SO flat and not comfortable! I want a red pair LOL My orthotics would take care of the flatness. My issue with them is that they run *really* narrow and I’ve never seen any available in wide widths. Rocket Dog Jazzins look similar and they fit my duck feet. ETA: I see that they now have some in wide but not many colors. . The normal width shows are wider than they look and I think wider than they used to be. My daughters like them bc they can get their orthotics and ankle braces in them

They are by no means wide. I was excited to see the post about wide widths available, though, and have ordered a pair to try out. I do wish they came in more colors. ETA: it just occurred to me to look at their custom site, and sure enough, they have added a wide width to their offerings! So you can get any of their custom colors and designs available in wide AND order a comfort base with more support. I'm going to wait and see how the wide ones I ordered fit, and if I like them, I may invest in a more colorful custom pair.

I’ve always loved the look but they just never fit right on me. You should report back after you try them! I have about six pairs of Rocket Dogs though, including a pair of white high tops that I want to customize.

We never had luck with Converse with either dd or ds AFOs. Vans however worked great. We just had to take out the insole.
I had an awesome pink pair as a kid and loved them.

My Chucks arrived yesterday. I put an insole in them and I think they should work ok for me. I got dark gray because I thought it seemed versatile and I don’t have that color in my vast casual sneaker collection.
Trump & Vance are coming to Minnesota today - polls this week showed Kamala leading by 6 in one and 10 in the other. I am thrilled that they are wasting money and effort here today. I love that Vance is turning out to be such a disaster for Trump. How dumb do you have to be to clap back at Jennifer Aniston?
