So far it's been really fun to watch!
The city looks so beautiful and the perfomances have been pretty top notch. <erm, okay maybe not top notch, some of that special effects are kind of...er... But hey, I give them credit!>
I especially loved that heavy metal number.

We were just in Paris for the first time in December, so it’s fun watching the torch travel through all the places we visited. Recognize the backdrop, where all the dignitaries are, etc.
It was raining like this when we’re at the Trocadero / Eiffel Tower.

Yes, we're watching. Very creative and a great backdrop. It's a terrible shame about the rain.
The river seems to have calmed down, the early boats were creating a big swell and we imagined any athletes with sea sickness thinking they could handle a river were probably regretting the trip.

And okay a French rapper!
Speaking of rappers, Snoop seems to be having a good time, but Kelly Clarkson needs to stop with the girly squeeing at everything. It's very Drewy and cringe.

This has to be my favorite opening ceremony. It's different - I love the athletes being on boats! I also love having Peyton and Snoop on there. The rain is very unfortunate but the performers are still killing it.

Made a big deal of the neighbors to the south, and nothing for the north. So they are interviewing athletes during the parade and we can't enjoy the whole thing. And snoop dog???

What was/is your interpretation of the very early moments of the parade? The scene where a female and 2 males were in the library, gave each other flirting looks, then left and went into a room, shut the door and seemed to indicate they wanted privacy. This was when they were supposed to be telling the story of France's history. Was this indicating a menage a trois? Probably not, but what??
In the very beginning, I could not figure out what the heck was being represented and apparently our NBC hosts didn't know either. It would have helped if they could have let the viewers know.
It sure got dark fast!

I only started watching less than an hour ago. The boats were on countries that started with “P”. I always get a little teary eyed when I see the US contingent. But the Minions? WHYYYYYYYY I read that they were created by a French animation company. |

I was a little bummed they didn't feature more of the Louve. But the Cathedral portion was epic, I loved how the featured the restoration in a artistic way. Oh, and that opera singer who sang the French national anthem took my breath away. |
