gramma - I'm so happy you got good news - hopefully radiation won't be needed either. kitbop - looking forward to seeing your Florida layouts! Neighbour's tree is all cut up and stacked in a debris pile. The county announced that they will be picking up storm debris - yay! I didn't get out to finish picking up our yard today but will tomorrow - all the big stuff is picked up, just need to go back over it all and get the medium and smaller stuff finished. PT went well but I could definitely tell a difference in stamina from the session before covid to this post-covid session. I get short of breath so easily. My next session is Saturday afternoon but I have some exercises to work on at home in between. We also swung by the old house - it's fine. Some branches down but much less than at our current house. It looks like the easement flooded but it was clear today. The county had repaired the road we take to get there - part of it washed out. We didn't go up the road the house is off - so don't know if it's still flooded or not. Some of the flooded areas are clear but some aren't yet.

gramma that's such good news! I'm so glad! I hope they are able to skip radiation. grammadee I love this layout! I am really loving the black background with the bright colors of the photos and patterned paper. I hope you and justjac had fun! I'm jealous every time you two get together lol. Linda those pictures of the before and after water are photos are awesome. I love nature and the beauty of it and taking photos like that are some of my favs. I hope you are getting your energy back, and the clean up isn't too. much. nylene those are such adorable layouts and so are the photos! I love those little mice. Abby has been about the same, some days are a little better than others. But I'm going to have her put down Saturday. She can't keep enough down to put any weight on. She's not in any kind of mental decline and that's what keeps me hanging on I think. This has been going on for weeks now though, and it's starting to feel selfish. Work has been weird. Not super busy at all, but there still seems to be plenty of "work" for me to do. But it's not crazy stressful and I am enjoying that part. I'm not sure about Friday, I'll be a mess for sure. kitbop can you start one? I got to get a couple things done before work, they are cleaning my carpets later today. I thought it was supposed to be yesterday. Yesterday I was ready. Today, not quite so much LOL. Sending hugs and waves to everyone!

joyfulnana - I'm so very sorry. Such a hard, hard decision to make. (((Hugs))) I will say I've never regretted making that decision but in a few cases, I've regretted not making it. I really feel for you though - the hardest part of loving animals is letting go.

beachy , I grew up in potato country in Idaho. I miss the open fields and country life. I understand about having grands move away. For years every Tuesday was Grandma Day and my grands came to spend the day. Then they were transferred clear across the country to Georgia. I cried for days. They eventually moved back and 3 of our 4 children live in our county. The other is in CA but has spent the last week here visiting. Even my married grands are in Utah, though scattered. Our DGD will be induced in about an hour and is expecting a baby girl. How are you doing getting back into scrapping? I hope it is going well. My surgery is scheduled for Sept 26. They will do a total reversal shoulder. It leaves me one-handed for quite a while. I had a similar surgery in March but it all pulled out, thus the need for the total. I will miss being able to do much scrapping for 2-3 months again. When my DD and grands first moved I started out going to see them once a week, but then in mid March I had a retinal detachment in my right eye which has just continued to cause me problems, and I haven’t been driving since then. But we do FaceTime a lot so that helps a bit. I’m so glad to be scrapping again, although I’m a slow scrapper and very behind. I think I need to do very simple pages and get some of these past years completed. I’m working on 2010 right now. I know everyone says not to worry about getting caught up, but I’m a chronological scrapper and find it hard to jump ahead. I love your sweet strawberry pages! Beautiful photos! That sounds difficult about your shoulder. I will pray that it goes well this time and heals quickly.

joyfulnana, my heart aches for you. I am sorry that you need to do that but you know she's not well. Will your DS go with you? Will this be hard on Rudy? gramma, Hooray, Hooray, Hooray! That makes me so relieved for you! Glad your Dr. was insistent on the mammogram! We have a new little great-granddaughter. She was born this a.m. by emergency C section. She was showing distress, so they did the C-section. She will be in the NICU for a few days with breathing problems, but is doing very well right now. Until an hour ago they thought they would have to send her to St George to a bigger NICU. But she rallied. It looks like she's a red-head like her mother. We have been on pins and needles since 6 am, but feel relieved now that she is breathing well.

I really feel for you though - the hardest part of loving animals is letting go. I feel like I'm on that line right now. And the more I watch her today, the more relieved I feel this is the right thing for her. I completely forgot you still had your old house. I'm glad there will be debris pick up soon. How long will you be doing PT? Take care of yourself! grammadee I DO feel all the good thoughts and hugs! I love this little corner of the board so much. Thank you beachy my DS2 is going to come with me. That must be hard not being able to drive to see your DD and grands anymore. But thank goodness for the technology we have today! I have one grandson and I moved to be nearer when he was born. I'm a true pokey scrapper. Some of these other ladies not so much - and they know who they are . LOLOL. nylene I can imagine how hard that was on you when the kids moved. I didn't know there was a regular Grandma day. How cool! And exhausting! lol. Was she full term, or a preemie? I'm so happy for you, and so happy she didn't have to go to St George. I hope you'll still come chat with us even if you can't scrap. gramma that is the BEST news today! I'm so relieved for you. The things you do with your silhouette are amazing. I love those baseballs. I would never have know the other was kit if you hadn't said so. I am going to open a crop tomorrow if anyone wants to join. I think it would be good for me. kitbop I can't wait to see Florida pages too! ( I can't say the word Florida now without hearing Taylor Swift singing "FLORIDA!" ) lol.

Congratulations on the arrival of another great grand, nylene. Another ginger to love. How is she related to the other great grands? I hope her stay in NICU will be short and that soon she will be home with her family. I hope you can enjoy your scrapping, beachy, without feeling too stressed about "being behind". Maybe you can make a plan to do a couple of pages from 2010 and then a page from 2024, working backwards and forward with a goal of meeting in the middle? I saw your pages in the sharing thread but have not yet taken the time to look at them more closely and leave some love. Simple pages are wonderful, and I hope while you scrap you are letting yourself relive those memories. (((((Hugs)))), again, joyfulnana. Not sure about tomorrow evening. Dd's dogs are here since this morning and they plan to pick them up tomorrow after work. I am not sure if dd & family plan to stay for awhile when they pick them up, or if it will be a quick drop in and hand off. Fun pages, and lovely cards. gramma. I hope to drop in to Flickr later to leave some love. And yay on your good news! How are you doing, Linda, after all that extra clean up? I hope you will soon be back to your energetic self! After a day of play yesterday it was back to garden work today. Have peas picked & shelled ready to be blanched and frozen in the morning, and jars washed for raspberry jam making tomorrow. Also did a bit of weeding today. Weeds are much more ready than garden veggies to jump up and grow when conditions are right, and Monday's rain really put a fire under them.

joyfulnana - feeling so lost for you right now. Abby has such a personality in my head and I'm really sad you only got to enjoy her for a relatively short period. That is one of the hard parts of loving pets with shorter life-spans than us, that we have to say goodbye. I'm really glad your boy can go with you. nylene - I'm so glad baby is still local and will send up prayers that she continues to do well! Let us know the name when you can. gramma - gorgeous layouts, so glad to see you scrapping! And for the early finding/removal of that stupid little &*#$ trying to find a home in you! @homeshoolmum - even if joyfulnana isn't up to opening a crop I will, and I hope some of you can jump in with me! joyfulnana - maybe a shorter visit? Now I'm late to work: I was writing this message and got up to let the dang dog in and she was digging in the soggy muddy garden, so she had to pop into the bathtub...see you all later!

Good morning Pokeys! grammadee - I'm definitely feeling the combination of yard clean-up and PT. Yard is almost done though and DD17 will be helping finish it up today. Raspberry jam sounds wonderful! I made a cheddar cheese zucchini beer bread yesterday - it was good but I'm going to decrease the oregano/thyme next time and increase the garlic - I think that'll make it even better. I have SO much shredded zucchini in my freezer. kitbop - sorry about the muddy start to your day! I'll see you tonight - thanks for offering to host joyfulnana - (((Hugs))) I finished up another family history writeup last night so getting that scrapped is on my to-do list today along with the kitty pics that have been sitting on my desk all week. Pretty sure I pulled them towards the end of last Friday's crop. No farm box today due to the storm - they cancelled all deliveries this week due to many roads still being impassable. The farm is in the next county over that was hit even harder with flooding than we were. I still have leftover produce so it'll give me an opportunity to catch up on using it. DD17 goes back to school on Monday. She picked up her schedule last night and she has a super heavy class load this year with 7 advanced placement classes (2 of which are only semester-long) - she's taking AP English Lit/Comp; AP US Govt, AP Econ, AP Calculus, AP Art History, AP Physics, and AP Bio. It's a 7-block day so she does have one empty block where she'll be assigned to 'aide' for a teacher or department. Her AP Art History teacher is also her Academic Team coach and she'll probably end up aiding for him and it'll primarily be an opportunity to study (based on DD24's experience). Plus she's hoping to get a job once she turns 18 (jobs for under 18's are hard to come by locally) in October. She's been getting more driving practise so hopefully will have a license soon as well. They were selling Senior tee-shirts last night and RAN OUT (they decided not to do preorders this year for some reason). So it'll be two weeks before she gets hers and she won't be able to wear it on Monday for the Senior breakfast before school.

Linda , glad to hear the yard cleanup is almost done. Sorry you’re feeling it though. What do you go to PT for? Cheddar cheese zucchini beer bread sounds awesome! We have a ridiculous amount of zucchini right now, but I’ve only ever made sweet zucchini breads. Going back to school next week seems so strange, it’s still like a month away here. When did school let out for summer there?

Thanks beachy - this was my first foray into savoury zucchini bread - I think it would be good with potato soup. PT - right now I'm in because my ankles, knees, and hips are all too tight and that's causing issues with pain and gait. last day of school was May 24th here.

joyfulnana, ((hugs))! Hope to see you online tonight. My heart is aching for you! kitbop, thanks for volunteering to start a crop tonight. Are you getting your strength back? Anyone else in your home with Covid? Linda, I'm not sure I ever got a comment on your last genealogy pages, but I read every word and love the detail you include. Looking forward to seeing your newest ones. I hope the "limb picking" hasn't hampered your PT and hope that the PT gives you some relief. grammadee, I wish I could help you make raspberry jam and sneak a jar home with me! I make frozen strawberry jam every year, but couldn't do it this year. We will miss it this winter. I had to laugh about how well your weeds grow. It's crazy that they are so prolific. Have fun with the extra dogs today and family later in the day. How is your DH doing? gramma, your cards and pages are amazing. I love your scrap style and love the way you use patterns and colors in your MANY cards. You have love in the gallery. Glad you are feeling well! beachy, we have a bunch of redheads. We have 5 grands that are red, and one great-grand. Plus the new little gal looks like hers is red. None of our children were redheads, but one is "bottle red" now because all 3 of her kids are red. She likes matching her kids. I am so sorry you are not able to drive to be with your grands. Having eye issues really throws a wrench in lots of plans. Is there any way they can reattach the retina? I hope your grands get to visit you sometimes. I'm going to go find your scrap pages on the sharing thread. I hope you are enjoying the return to the hobby. kellyr21, I hope your video of your art is coming along! The new baby is Amelia Rose and will probably be called Millie. She is breathing on her own and just room air, so has made great progress. She was born the day before her due date, so not a premie. Her mom just had long, hard labor which attributed to the breathing problems. Her mother is a first cousin to Eddie's & Hailey's mom, and Swayzee & Gracee's dad. She's Alex's niece and he is soooo excited. First grandchild for Em.

Thank you nylene - my hope is that by typing them up, family members who would never actually look at my genealogy research will enjoy reading the pages and learning a little about their ancestors. Luckily I have one kid who helps with genealogy and at least one more who is interested in the stories. I'm only going outside and picking up sticks for 30 minutes at a time - we're under a heat advisory again with heat indexes up to 111 and actual temps in the 90s. Plus I still wear out easily. Congratulations on Amelia Rose - what a beautiful name! I love that the older names are coming back into use. I'm so glad that she's doing well. How adorable Alex is - will he be called Uncle Alex?

I'm going to go find your scrap pages on the sharing thread. I hope you are enjoying the return to the hobby. We have the redhead gene in our family too. In addition to my DD, I have a brother with red hair, two nieces and a cousin. They have reattached my retina twice, but I’ve had more tears and now they say I’ve developed a lot of scar tissue. The result is that what sight I do have in that eye now is all distorted and wavy and gives me double vision. They may do more surgery to try and remove scar tissue, but the risks from that are more retinal tears. I go back to the specialist at the end of the month so we’ll see what he says. It’s been hard getting used to it for sure and not driving, etc… but it could be worse! Amelia Rose is a lovely name. So glad to hear she’s breathing on her own and doing well. Tomorrow DH and I, DD and the grands and my parents are all going up north to a cottage on a lake for the week. I’m so looking forward to it. Should be lots of fun together!

joyfulnana , my thoughts keep turning to you today. I hope you have peace that you have made the right choice for your sweet Miss Abby. ((Hugs)). Linda , I love your details in the genealogy page. The children were born and married at the same time DH's parents were. It makes me happy to see that you have used census records, some that I helped index. How much easier genealogical research is now with computers. Sweet photos of your kitties. I had to chuckle at them sneaking into the garage. That's a great Killdeer photo and I love the soft look of the page. Very pretty. I love that paper that looks like Erector Sets. I have never played mastermind, but spent hours with my older brother's Erector Set. Great pages. Thank you for enlarging your first pages. How interesting that Scott's DGGF would be a similar age to my DH's grandfather. His parents were born in 1905 & 1906. kitbop , thanks for starting the crop last night. It was a good visit and I accomplished more than I thought I would. Baby Millie is home with her mama! That was a short stay for all the early problems. The nurse who rushed her out of delivery told Em that she was a literal miracle. I'm glad I didn't know how serious it was at the time. Mom and baby are doing well. beachy , we were posting at the same time. I am sorry about your eye. DH has macular degeneration and hasn't driven for about 8 years. It has been hard. I wish they had miracles for retinas. I hope you have a wonderful week with your family. That sounds like such fun! Travel safely.
