It’s the TWENTIETH year of JYC and if you do love it, remember to recommend to a new scrappy friend. Because she gave lifetime access I don’t think she’s earning much income from the class any more. I was considering buying it again under a different email address just to say thank you for many years of inspiring content. Without Shimelle and JYC, there wouldn't be December Daily TM because Ali took this class back in 2005.

December Daily / Christmas Card / Crafty Work & Prep Day
OK, after looking at everyone's schedule -- I am going to schedule crops for SAT NOV 16 9:00AM - 1:00 and then again starting at 2:00 til we all get tired. All times are central.

Has anyone received a Paper Person shipping notice? I received a PP shipping notice this afternoon. No ETA yet, just label created.
I'm working on my 2019 December album.
I have several work and friend parties to document but in my stash there are ZERO stickers/stamps/chipboard that say party - family party, friends party, holiday party, Christmas party, pajama party, nothing!
There's festive and gather and celebrate but no party. Why?
That’s weird! I have a die that says party in scripty font. I think I might have some stamps in birthday sets too, intended for card making. Do you need a party word care package? I could send you an envelope of stampings and cuttings in black and white.

PicTapGo - I've been using this up until as recently as last month to do basic edits on my phone (Samsung / Android).
Went to do a quick edit on something to load to IG today and got a message that I was using an unlicensed product - but it is no longer available in the Play Store... so it's gone (boo!! 😢 )
I'm on the look out for a new app then - something simple if possible.
I have Snapseed, but I liked the filters that PTG had to offer and you could just click on those. Snapseed needs me to understand what I'm doing when I make a change... (on my phone, I just want to push a thing LOL)
What else is good....?

I opened up my last day of the advent calendar today. Overall, I really enjoyed it. There was nothing in there that I hated and will use almost all of it. It was a bit pricey but it's my treat to myself.
What are you all going to do with the kraft envelope?
I really like the stars so I want to use it for something. I'll need to cut some of the bulk away. I'm also not sure I need the twine thing (although those are really cool to open).
I remember there were some posts last year about it, maybe on the blog. I don't remember thinking I wanted to recreate any of those.

I’m watching Ali’s second Product Play video, thirty minutes in, and I’m finding it hilariously painfull. 😂 Anyone else want to weigh in on this?

I just got one or two bits and pieces from there on sale. I would have got the Paislee Press collection but just can't cope with that awful scribble. Instead I chose a few bits from NBK to print and cut on my Silhouette, since I didn't find a collection I liked and that was still available when I finally got my act together to buy it! Thanks to sleepingbooty I have a cute sparkly binder (that cost me 99c, postage free....can you believe it!?) and intend to use what I have this year. Believe me, it's time I did that ;-) Of course, if Elf Sahin posts something cute tomorrow, I might just be tempted....

Today's Product Play lesson is FULL of ideas! Rachel did an amazing job offering SO MUCH INSPO. To the point that I will be making several pages based on her ideas and might say the class was worth it for this lesson alone. Also - re Ali's lesson, I skipped through her video just bc she is doing it all real time and I am not really a big watcher of step by step creating. That said, I did create a page based on her idea and I really like what I ended up with. My lighting is not great, but thought I would share below. https://www.instagram.com/p/DCSI-jmPPzV

Does anyone create their own 3x4 (or 4x6) cards using the DD supplies? I'm doing a 6x8 album and still some pocket pages amongst the out of the page designs. Having 6 of the same 3x4 cards isn't enough so I'm trying to make my own. Last year I used Paige Evans' collection and found it much easier!
I think part of my problem is I don't want to cut up the 8x10 papers and then find a genius page idea someone shared that uses what I've just chopped up, but also there's definitely not enough small pieces in the kit to easily make smaller elements. I'm mixing in other collections/stash supplies but trying to get it to look cohesive. I'll try to share what I've made at some point in case that's helpful for anyone else!

I will usually cut down my "10x8" papers into 7x8.25 papers to use outside the page protector and then use the left over 3x8.25 strip to make 2 3x4 cards or use the strip as is.

Printing digi stamps on pretty papers to customise cards to cater your specific needs, cutting into hoarded papers (seriously, even small stashers have SO. MUCH. of it), repurposing packaging or greeting cards, etc. It's also a great way to make flip-up cards by cutting a 3x8 paper strip in half so you can add extra photos or journaling. However, if you need some DD 3x4 or 4x6 cards, I'm sure some of us can ship a few your way. They fit in a regular letter envelope so very easy to help you get some more cards quickly and free of charge if necessary. Many of us have loads left from previous years.

I have plenty of stash and have made cards other years, it's just trying to make them look like they belong with the rest of the kit. I've been doing the same as @texas scrapper, with cutting off extra bits from the 10x8s but wish I had more variety of papers. I actually bought a digital kit and designed a whole bunch of cards. I don't have a colour printer and got them printed at our stationery shop. They not only managed to print them the wrong size (someone couldn't figure out how to press don't scale) but the card is slick and shiny and the quality isn't great. I don't know anywhere else to print and have already paid $50 for printing so I'm giving up on that 🥴 I do have some fun options though so having a play with what I've got!

That green “burst” die cut is just awful imo. I’ll wait to see if anyone comes up with a way to make it less awful but I’m leaning towards cutting the burst part off altogether. Ali should’ve stuck with 8x10.

I discovered her a year ago I think. She’s fabulous. She does have an Instagram account. If you’re good at seeing a finished project and copying then you’ll be good. She doesn’t do much in the way of tutorials on her Instagram. For those of you who took the class, does she provide the cut files for the E and the C?

I didn’t even buy the page diecuts this year as I thought the group was basically hideous and they are usually my favorite thing. Sometimes different is just weird and fugly.

Yes - I just checked and she provides pdf and cut files for the E and the C. I follow her on insta as well - great inspo. Re the die cut inserts..... Burst die cut page, I almost did not buy the die cuts bc I disliked this one so much, but a few days ago I outlined the edges with dots of red glitter stickles and I like it "better". I am thinking about using this as a front page for a section in my album related to a trip. Possibly will use the white spaces for highlights day by day - we will see. Still don't love it but like it much better - I feel like something peeking out between the bursts would also improve the visual experience . I also already used the light green scallop edged insert with the 6 boxes and filled them with little embellishments and actually really like how it turned out. This was another insert I thought I would toss, but I ended up liking it.

As we're about 2 weeks away I wanna make sure everyone's stocked up! Get all the adhesive runners, tape for your ATG, staples, red line, photo/sticker/vellum papers, ink carts, & if you're me and always forget to change the blade on your paper trimmer until it's literally ripping along the line.. order a couple of blades too lol

Did anyone see what Shannon Flatley did with the burst die cut page? She’s softdaystudios on IG. It’s gorgeous and she gave enough direction that I think anyone can re-create.

Holy hell that is amazing. And someone in the FB group posted a way to interpret the DEC from the product play lesson that might work for me. I just want someone to make a template for me in 6X8.
