I think I'm convincing myself into 4x6 lol Amy Gretchen did one two years ago (I think) and it was amazing. I wonder if you can find it.

I think I'm convincing myself into 4x6 lol Amy Gretchen did one two years ago (I think) and it was amazing. I wonder if you can find it. She has a playlist for it on her YT channel. 4x6 and 4x5.5 are amazing formats, jenna, particularly in the vertical disposition. Jamaica Kincaid from Jamaica Makes has made most of her DD's as 4x5.5-ish mini books as well. I have a bunch of them, too. It's hard to quit this format for special seasons, especially if you're recording daily tidbits rather than big events with many photos.

I say choose the size that makes you the most excited to work in. Better chance of finishing and you’ll enjoy the process along the way!

I'm kind of ready to start documenting? Anybody else just itching to get going? The calendar says ten more days, my brain says NOW!

I say choose the size that makes you the most excited to work in. Better chance of finishing and you’ll enjoy the process along the way! This is great advice!!! I'm kind of ready to start documenting? Anybody else just itching to get going? The calendar says ten more days, my brain says NOW! I'm not ready yet. I still haven't sorted out my title page (although I got some ideas for how to make it work this morning). My daughter is in the Nutcracker on Saturday so that is story #1. My calendar is ready but I'm not sure what to put on the back of the title page. I usually have all this sorted by now. Story 9 is pretty much finished. I used the idea from lasteve1 with the ornament page. I have 9 nieces and nephews so each one has an ornament. Top layer ornament acetate, then vellum, then a photo of them, then pattern paper with their gift written on it. On the back you can see through the white ornament to the back side of the pattern paper and it's mostly cool (cause I fussy cut). I'll cover up the ones that don't look so cool with something else that ties into story 10. I don't know what I'm doing with the number yet but I'll figure something out. I'm leaving work in a few and I have one more day in the office before Thanksgiving. I'm doing a combo of working from home and vacation days and the holidays so bring it. I so need a freaking break. I'm done. I always do a page with ephemera from the season and it's one of my favorites. I don't want to just use a 2X2 pocket page protector. One year I cut hexies and it was super cute. Maybe I'll do some circles. Or maybe that banner idea... What are you guys excited about?

blemon sleepingbootyty for the Amy Gretchen recommendation & links! I'll spend the afternoon going through her stuff now lol I say choose the size that makes you the most excited to work in. Better chance of finishing and you’ll enjoy the process along the way! Yessss! This is what I really need to keep in mind.

I'm kind of ready to start documenting? Anybody else just itching to get going? The calendar says ten more days, my brain says NOW! My husband’s birthday is today and my oldest is after thanksgiving. I can’t transition to Christmas until these events are over. My brain just can’t do November stuff and Christmas stuff at the same time. 🫠

I host thanksgiving so I definitely have to wait until next weekend to fully get in the spirit. Plus that’s when I’ll decorate, very excited to do that! I will set up my tripod to get photos of the whole family next week, that’s been a tradition for a while. I will use the photo in my DD.

I am hoping to create a few pages for my album this weekend. I have been hustling trying to get my Christmas cards done first.

Help: http://instagram.com/p/DCnHPLZujDo What do I do with this? I stitched the shaker with the acetate onto Kelly purkey vellum. I will need to back it with white because over the red I’m losing that gorgeous detail in the pattern. Do I back a rectangle with white and round the corners? Do I cut the heart out and leave white or no white? Or maybe I try to edge the heart with pink pom pom trim which I might not actually have?

I'm kind of ready to start documenting? Anybody else just itching to get going? The calendar says ten more days, my brain says NOW! I've already scrapped two pages! I made a page when we visited Bronner's (the world's largest Christmas store) in early November + a page about my subscription to Hallmark+ earlier this month. I'll have a few more before December 1st: cutting down & decorating our Christmas tree, decorating my parents' Christmas tree, and going to see a one-woman play called "The 12 Dates of Christmas" with my husband and our closest friends.

I'm not ready! Hopefully this weekend I can sit down with my supplies and get a little more organized, maybe do my opening page. The only reason I'm ok with DS19 not being able to come home from college this weekend (will be Monday after he takes a quiz) is that I will have a little more time to get ready for DD to start. It's going to be a little different this year because we don't have much "Christmasy" stuff planned. We're not doing the usual round of family visits because of a family wedding. But I'm still looking forward to this project.

I have loved scrapping 10x8 for the last two years. I was a little disappointed when Ali said she would be doing 6x8. (I copy Ali's pages, and match them to my stories, so they end up in a different order). I also was unsure how the red stars album would look beside last year's red album.
But when I saw her folded contents page - I LOVED it! I love how the MERRY paper wrapped around to the next page. I also liked her idea for day 12 (from Prep Day): the folded 10x8 with the thank yous to each month of 2024. And also the folded prompt paper she showed in her foundation pages video. I really felt I am going to love unfolding all these pages in a 6x8!
And then I got back on the 10x8 train, lol. It almost hurt watching her cut that beautiful paper...and then FOLD it! I simply cannot do that. So December is in ten days and I still haven't committed to an album size.

I'm kind of ready to start documenting? Anybody else just itching to get going? The calendar says ten more days, my brain says NOW! Totally ready. This is by far the most prep I've ever done for DD. I have about 15 pages worth of supplies pulled and put into page protectors for when the time comes. I'm ready.

I only found a few stamps with a mention of party or something that would work for that theme (like “Dressed in Holiday Style”). I haven’t looked through embellishments and such yet. I found a digital blog hop collection from The DigiScrap Parade (r.i.p.) called Holiday Party - and it only had three embellishments or stamps with the word party.
I guess I'm stuck with Eat Drink & Be Merry for all these occasions!! It's the Live Laugh Love of Christmas. LOL
Yes it is lol. The most recent Studio Calico holiday stamp set has the “Dressed in Holiday Style” if that’s of any interest. studiocalico.com/shop/stamp-set-4x6-christmas-shop-by-goldenwood-co

I have really enjoyed Ali sharing videos of foundation pages randomly. It was a surprise to see the page of words. I'll steal that in some way. I might cut a quote on my silhouette. Not sure. Or use sticker letters.
That's all.
I'll be on the live next week. I'm working from home and will take lunch during that time.

I have scraplifted a lot of Ali's prepped pages so far. But that "Magic is Something We Make" folded over just upsets me so much. I wish she had just printed the digital down to fit in her album. I'll see what she does with it, but I don't think I'm scraplifting that one.

I liked the word page, but I’m saving mine for full page photos, if I can get them to work. Especially since I didn’t get the plastic le tit snow phrases, haha

I don't have those words but I will use the idea with those words that I have from the Halloween kit. I will be doing some sort of October album next year (or the next -- I forgot I will be doing a senior year album for my kid and moving to a new house so that's enough).
I'm going to play around with some stuff I have tonight and see what happens.
I finished watching all the available product play lessons.
I'm curious how they came up with this formula idea. It seems like an unnecessary challenge.

I wasn’t crazy about Ali’s word page, but I love the 10x8 version someone named Jennifer Navarro Alfonso posted on the Facebook DD group. I’m doing 6x8 so I can’t use it, but I love it.
