Starting the frantic prep to leave for a week . . . And of course email stops working so I am on a tech support call. Have to send out an invoice.
Other things are lining up! Wish I had time to play with Challenge #21.

I like that you call it a “ketchup day” grammadee I had a busy ketchup Monday too, although I didn’t quite catch up. I really want to sit down and finish a big pile of cards but laundry and household chores and general tiredness keep getting in the way! I haven’t checked on the new challenge yet either. Off to do that now.

Safe travels, angel97701. Completed a two pager today with a few interruptions, and posted my cards from the last few days. Need to shift focus now to cleaning and packing for the crop...

I started crocheting a colorful striped cover for a padded coathanger at craft group today because I haven't been organized enough to get my next blanket project started. Maybe doing a (yarn) scrap project is better for the group setting anyway, at least until I get the hang of the granny squares. I keep second-guessing whether to do my next project as a stripe or a granny... I really like the look of the granny blanket but the stripe would be easier to do and I could make 2 smaller ones. Starbright stripey options, not necessarily in this stitch: Starbright granny, inspired by vintage shiny bright Xmas ornaments: There's not a right or wrong answer. It partly depends on whether I want to keep a big blanket or gift two small blankets, and how much of a challenge I want. idk 🤷🏻♀️ Anyway, I did one card challenge today and now I'm looking for some motivation to keep going (with something easier). Better write down my points first!

You are ROCKIN' CARDtober!
As of yesterday, I was behind by two of grammadee's texture challenges.

If you are working with yarn to relax, joblackford, the striped option would definitely be the choice. That granny blanket looks lovely, but it also looks like a lot of work and concentration. Although, I guess you could take a few squares to your craft group each week, rather than lugging a whole blanket in progress. I am in awe of people who can create with yarn. I don't have the physical or mental skills to focus on consistant stitch tightness, so anything I have attempted has ended up a mess. I am caught up on CARDtober as of this morning. Time to stop thinking about packing up for the crop and start actually DOING it. Have my scrappy travel cases up here waiting to be filled. Actually packing for two different crafting locations. I want to set up a card making station in my hotel room, and then my scrapbooking stuff packed for the crop venue. Not sure which to start on, but I really need to START...

Thanks Shakti - next up is your folded card challenge...that one will truly challenge me I highly recommend watching the video. I didn't re-watch when I started my second pair last week and realized that something didn't look right. Re-watched and ended up huffing one apart to correct it.... Today I learned something about my job that may well be the thing that turns it all around for me -- like total game-changer. I'm actually kind of elated! I am supposed to be visiting US HQ in Lake Zurich, IL the first week in November. The wonderful thing I heard this morning does not increase my enthusiasm for the trip any, oh well. Can't win 'em all. I am plotting to bring my Christmas PP kit to work on in my hotel. Can't figure out if I should bring my GISTI or do the stamping ahead. Might depend on what all else I need to pack and stuff. I'm pretty sure it has pre-cut ribbon, so it should be scissor-free, should I elect to carry everything on.

Re-watched and ended up huffing one apart to correct it.... sigh...I'm sure you're right but I'm not a video learner. I was planning on going step by step through the written instructions but I will watch the video also. Not today though - I'm cropping online this afternoon and I'm 100% sure that card will require my undivided attention. I'm glad things with your job are looking up! We got a pie pumpkin in the farm box last week - DD24 messaged me (I was still overseas) with "it's a whole-a$$ pumpkin!" so we've been calling it that ever since. Today it has been turned into 8 cups of pumpkin puree for the freezer - I foresee pumpkin pie in our future.

"it's a whole-a$$ pumpkin!" Ha ha! Those are the BEST kind! Welcome to the punkin club! I sent my three biggest ones home with dgs for Halloween, have made four pumpkin pies and two batches of muffins, and still have a couple of bags frozen and a couple of whole ones to process in a couple of weeks.

Fun going on! Meanwhile I’ve been sitting in a car for 1100 miles. Only 3:44 to go ! On the mountain roads of Idaho. Think lots of turns. Beautiful fall Tamaraks set against the other Evergreens.

I'm not much of a pumpkin pie person but I sneak pumpkin puree into my chili. I'm the one who eats it, but apparently I still need to "sneak it in" I just got done with a couple of cards for my CARDtober challenge tonight, which I realize means I'm behind on this week's challenges that everyone else has posted, oops. I'm going to try and catch up on some journaling while the house is quiet but maybe I'll find my way back to my desk before dinner.

I got caught up on the Cardtober challenges today during the online crop - yes even the W-fold Shakti. I did end up watching the video...and stopping it and rewinding and watching again and ...again and again. Voted this evening (early voting) since DD18 has a meet on election day. Her first time voting and she got a tee-shirt!

sigh...I'm sure you're right but I'm not a video learner. I was planning on going step by step through the written instructions but I will watch the video also. I actually totally agree and much prefer where there's both a video to watch once and actual step-by-step instructions to craft by (which Connie's downloads are definitely NOT). I've resigned myself to the fact that in crafting a lot of or even most content is video and only some crafters provide detailed instructions. I suspect that writing instructions is a different skill set from creating and not all of them have it. It has lowered my tolerance for videos in other areas, like product reviews, even more though. Just can't stand them -- give me something I can READ!

Good Thursday morning.
I am packing up the last of the stuff I need for my upcoming crafty weekend. When I have the scrappy supplies stuffed into their tote, I will need to figure out and pack my clothes. Haven't thought of that at all, but did a bunch of laundry last weekend, so hoping that won't take too long.
I am a divergent thinker. I love options. Give me a word and ask for definitions? I can give you a bundle. Give me a definition and ask for a word? I got nothin'. I get joy from crafting when I have lots of options to choose from right at that moment. I know this about me, so I have packed way too much stuff for the weekend just so that element of choice is built in right to the last thing I glue down. The crafting will bring me joy. The packing? Not so much LOL.

Have a wonderful crop grammadee with loads of creative options. Glad you got the scrappy stuff packed. I got today's card made plus a layout cropping with mom this morning. Now I'm back to labelling trip pictures but hope to join the afternoon crop as well - there's an almost finished layout on my desk...

I just messaged the local lady and she's willing to take ALL of the last of the Hummels, even the ones she already has! and even the one I have 2 of! So I think I can officially share my DONE picture. Empty!! by jo.blackford, on Flickr I actually took it when I was packing up at FIL's 6 weeks ago, so it's been my motivation image. I just tidied up the basement shelves and took photos of the clear space to contrast with the "shipping department" photos I'd taken during the process. They will go in my year end book. Now I'm off to take photos of the trunk full of stuffed toy decorations my husband's nana made for him and his sis for all the holidays. I think they're all personalized with their names so it's going to be hard to know what to do with them. Oh well, my job is to take the photos so they can decide.

I spent most of my day today chaperoning a 5th grade fieldtrip (we planted trees) but got motivated after I got home and finished my October Daily 2023. I never finish projects like this (December Daily 2011 is still not finished...) so I am kind of in shock that it's done

Hi! We got within 35 miles of Dsd last night and that last bit took 1.5 hours. Gotta love Seattle traffic. dsd is very glad to see us. We are doing home improvement chores and some fun things. Have fun grammadee. Linda you are really getting some crafty time. joblackford and Shakti we are different kinds of learners and have different skill sets of communication styles. I know I like to read instructions but also like watching. On the last card I watched to get the dimensions rather than downloading for an email. breetheflea did you enjoy the field trip? I loved going in the science field trips! As a HS teacher those were unheard of. Today we went to Poulsbo, on the sound across foe Seattle.

grammadee great output! I am in crafting withdrawal as I am at DSD’s. Taking is easy and helping with some house chores. She has a Dad to do list.

We might’ve crossed paths on the highway Isn’t Poulsbo delightful? I hope you got something from Sluy’s Bakery. They have some fun Norwegian events, especially around Christmas, but we usually avoid them during the busy season because the roads and parking get jammed. It’s a shame - such a nice town. Some of my friends grew up there. And yes, we’re glad not to have to brave Seattle area traffic often. Have a fun time

Jumping in here - I'm so far behind and have been MIA all week. Work is just so weird and I'm not even sure where my time is going lol. joblackford I love all of those options, if it were me I would probably go with granny squares for the ease of carrying it around. safe travels have a good trip angel97701 grammadee I hope you are having a ton of fun at the crop. I have one layout that needs a title and journaling and then I'm not sure where I want to do next. I should catch up my PL lol.
