Artemis most likely has an intestinal parasite, whip worms. She eats dirt , and it was never a problem in the high dessert of Central Oregon as nothing survives in the dead soil there. But here? So strong de-wormer it is. Treating the yard is a whole 'nother story! Yikes. But she doesn't have Addison's disease, which I am thankful for! No steroids Rx!
I went to the gym while I was waiting for her testing/results.
This afternoon meet up with Melissa and Pauline in the afternoon crop. Finished #27 (photos to come) and working on the last three, which might be a three-fer. Purple with texture and a border die in process. As mentioned before, not expecting any trick-or-treaters.

Hoping to join mom’s crop in the morning to finish the last 3 CARDtober challenges. Need to upload last 6 pages from last weekend before I can calculate October points. Excited to rip up my Q-4 challenge list and start over with them all open to be checked off again…

I will not even think about October points until I'm back from Illinois. I have two CARDtober challenges left and a plan to meet them with one card. I have the stamping done and I think I can do the watercoloring and finish the card Saturday morning.
That leaves Sunday morning to make a November SLoC.
There's no menu planning/grocery shopping/meal for me this weekend, so all my adulting time will be bills and laundry/packing. I think I got this!
I also have a CARDtober "rules lawyer" question: if I meet two challenges with one card is it five points or ten?

Photos in the daylight tomorrow. Then I really need to start planning for my week-long crop! I only have 23 pages planned for 6+ days! Oh and tidy up my craft space and a dozen other chores around the house!

And is it like our regular challenges where you meet it once and you’re done, or is it 5 points for each card that meets the challenge, even if you made 10 using a challenge that only asked for 1?

And is it like our regular challenges where you meet it once and you’re done, or is it 5 points for each card that meets the challenge, even if you made 10 using a challenge that only asked for 1? Gonna make a quick call on this. It isn't stated that you're limited to one and done, but that is the way I score my own SKETCHtember and CARDtober points. If the challenge calls for 4 cards (or a different number), that earns the 5 points. Otherwise, it's five points for the first card. Of course each card also earns the basic points as per size, and for creating and sharing (if applicable). Next year I will clean up the RULES to make this specific, but I would say count the way you have been counting. We are creating, not mathing, so don't go back and change any scoring you have already done.

Just finished croppin' with my gnomies... Did some stamping/watercolour shading, some fussy cutting, and put together three cards for the last Monday Multiples challenge. And one of them actually meets the watercolouring and fav colour challenge as well, so a THREE-fer!
I plan to do some quick scoring of my pages and cards from the crop and to add up my October points so I can start with a clean slate.

I just played ketchup with my email - ugh, mostly caught up, but I'm done for right now... Thanks for making a call on the points thing grammadee. I have only calculated a few cards but I better get to that soon. I ran out of space on the page I use for recording my cards! I guess it's been a good month of crafting. I'm going to earn some organizing points today too - I have a bunch of cards to sort for donations and for my own mailing purposes. I put away all my Halloween supplies last night so my desk is clear for making a mess organizing. I think I'm finally going to create a filing system for my personal cards by sentiment type. Usually I just flip through because many can be used for different occasions, but it's silly to sort through cards for Halloween and Mother's Day looking for a crafty friend or birthday card.

I.AM.DONE.WITH.CARDtober!!! All 31 challenges! Only at the last did I start combining challenges as I was getting most done as we went through the month until I went on my trip.
I have my Sketchy Saturday ready to go for tomorrow, did that before I left.
joblackford You've done an excellent job staying caught up and making multiple cards.
grammadee so good to see you this morning! You were productive!
Shakti Hope your work trip is going well!

While you are at it, clean up your desk, edit a few more photos, or just spend some time watching a few crafty videos to get your creative mojo going. Have a wonderful weekend!

angel97701, thanks for the reminder on point-keeping! I'll tally up over the weekend and add my points to date here. I'm actually making headway on getting my craft room put together after our move to a new house a couple months ago. The vast majority of my points are in hours spent organizing and watching process videos...mostly for storage/organization LOL. But I am getting close to the point where I will be able to make some pages and/or cards. My fingers are itching to craft!!! (Too bad my full-time job does not involve that...just takes time away from crafting but it does pay for my supplies so I guess it's still a win!)

I have finished CARDtober!! Of course, PostImage is having one of its little come-undones -- I can see my card in my posts on my iPad, but not on my MacBook. Dunno what anyone else may or may not be seeing. Sigh. angel97701, I will probably not tally points until NEXT weekend.

Yay for all of us who earned (or are on track to earn) the CARDtober completion bonus! At the crop last weekend, I completed SKETCHtember's challenges, too, but not nearly on time for the bonus. I might be feeling a little hangover from not having the daily challenges to kick start me, but still have a couple of Sketchy Saturdays to catch up on, and the new Allison Davies sketch dropped in yesterday, so there are always jumping off points should I have time and space to play with paper.
I DIDN'T get all my spring and summer photos scrapped last weekend. And now my phone is filling up with pic's from my family's fall and Halloween adventures, and if I had THOSE printed, I would probably be ignoring the backlog again, so maybe it's a good thing I don't have the newest pic's in my hand yet.
That said, I am not sure if anything crafty will happen here today. Haven't done laundry or any house cleaning other than dishes for a couple of weeks. I have been slowly putting away and reorganizing the stuff I trucked to and from the crop, and still have a couple of piles of stuff waiting for that to happen. I also want to have my holiday card making supplies out and easy to access, so need to find some places to put the stuff that is in the way of that. So... cleaning and organizing on the agenda, which is not really conducive to creativity LOL.
But part of that process is discovering some bits and pieces that really want to be on cards, so right now I have them comingling on my scrap counter with with the pieces I stamped and watercoloured during yesterday's on line gathering, so who knows what may come out of that?
Sorry for the long ramble, but now you have a glimpse inside my *thinking* process. Scary, isn't it?

I have a checklist for the remaining challenges so I should be able to get them all done. I thought I was going to do a whole bunch of cards yesterday but only managed one. Luckily it counted for a few challenges!
I have a stack of “drafted” cards on my desk that just need sentiments/focal points, glue, and embellishment, once I figure out what I want them to say. They’re fall themed, random papers I was given, no matching images. I don’t think I have very many fall/Thanksgiving stamps or dies I love, but maybe I’m just forgetting what I have.

grammadee--I hear you on the internal working of the mind! So glad your watercolor snowmen will have card homes soon! Shakti--yeah, I 'm glad you got them all done! Don't stress about crafting cuz it's supposed to be our stress reliever! joblackford--You are better at putting the bits and pieces together than I am. I sometimes just batch them up and then drag them out later--which now that I think about it helped out with a number of CARDtober challenges.
Today I spent editing photos and doing some research on the journaling. My photos from Tampa (and other places) have a photo location tag, so looking up a few things that way is helpful. When I am scrapping photos from 5 years ago AND the capabilities of the interwebs I like to have accurate info in my journaling. So then I know why I took the photo I did of scenery or something else that doesn't have people in it. I also watched all the videos of the Cenote Excursion in Mexico with our Mayan guide. Great memories and quotes I want to use in journaling.
I just finished the last batch of our walk along the Riverwalk in Tampa and a meal at a historic restaurant. Now a few more page kits to assemble to get ready for my crop. I don't have that much free time this coming week, and I don't want to rush at the last minute.
Waving hi to everyone!

Well, I was thinking about scrapping today… I had to drop DD off at the new high school club she co-founded this morning and decided to walk the track instead of going home for an hour. I walked 12 laps, DD was about done, so we drove home and realized I didn’t have my driver’s license. DH went with me to find it, and on the way there DD called to say someone had found it and dropped it off at the house. There are good people in the universe!
Since we were already in the car DH decided he needed to go to Home Depot and Costco….
While I was on my walk DH had decided to fix the broken bathroom fan and discovered a big issue with how the old fan was vented (it wasn’t which explains some things…) Four hours, having to rearrange half of DS room to get into the attic, a second trip to the hardware store, and one giant mess in my bathroom later and it is fixed…
But, I guess it’s obvious I did not get to scrap today… maybe tomorrow.

What kind of weather makes it the most conducive to scrap or craft? Do you ever feel like it is "XYZ" outside so I should be outside doing outside things? (Sorta NSBR) For me when the weather gets unpleasant (which I suspect is for most people) I like to be inside comfy and cozy and crafting! I definitely feel the pull to be outside in the sunny happy weather doing stuff on the lake, yard work, or just being outside. This was especially true when I lived in the PNW, if it wasn't raining in the spring you were SUPPOSED to be outside.
Plus I say this when it is forcast of a high of 49 and winds up to 27 mph.

(Sorta NSBR) Weather like today is perfect for me! It's pouring rain and yucky out. Fall and into Winter are my favorite seasons for crafting. It's too bad there are so many holidays during that season. It could be a nice slow pace which I personally love, otherwise lol. I'm going to take advantage of the weather this morning and work on my PL today and set up my next sketch from Sketchtember and keep working through those. But no knitting has been happening at all. And I would really rather scrap than knit lol. I hope everyone is having a good weekend! We are back on Standard Time here and boy my body is loving that!

I get more crafting done in the winter between Christmas and Easter, not because of the weather but because there's less going on with the family. I prefer to scrapbook when it's sunny outside because I'm solar powered and like natural light.

I'm solar powered and like natural light. Some days I feel like that, too LOL. What kind of weather makes it the most conducive to scrap or craft? Do you ever feel like it is "XYZ" outside so I should be outside doing outside things? (Sorta NSBR) I spend much more time outside in gardening season, not so much the rest of the year. But my crafting time sometimes depends more on dh's schedule than mine. When I have the house to myself I have the bandwidth to create pages and cards. In the past, he has spent some extended summer days helping his nephew with haying in summer, and a couple hours each winter morning helping with feeding cows, so that has been my prime crafty time. His schedule has changed substantially lately with his health issues, so my crafting times will be changing too, I predict. Glad you are loving Standard time, joyfulnana. I feel in my bones that this is the "REAL" time. That said, today will seem a bit long, I think. Never could figure out why we all have to experience jet lag twice a year ...

My big outside time is the Sunday morning walk. I generally craft weekend mornings, both before and after Saturday morning yoga and the Sunday walk. If it's too cold or wet for me to join the walk, I guess I do more crafting, but that's a consolation prize, it's not that crappy weather motivates me to craft. I have a window with a little garden outside of it in the craft room/home office and it's a lovely place to be on a warm, sunny day with the birds frolicking and singing outside (and the cats watching them intently).

Sorry - I'm behind on the thread and will just jump back in rather than try and catch up.
My scrappy time tends to depend on what else is going on rather than the weather but summers are more scrappy for me usually because it's too hot and humid to be outside.
This wasn't a scrappy weekend. I had my flu and covid vaccines Friday evening and they knocked me out and I spent the better part of yesterday sleeping. Today we go into the city for DD18's Girl Scout meeting so probably no scrppy time either.
I will try and count October points tonight or tomorrow though

grammadee I have another question of the "Challenge Rules Lawyer". We earn a point each month we met a challenge. If it a Challenge we set, do we get a point each month or just the first time we met it in the quarter?

I do not fly well. I am not afraid of flying...I just hate it. When I fly on vacation, I bring minimal makeup. Heck, I bring no make up; it's more like I bring minimal toiletries. Traveling for work is a whole other thing. I think I have the clothing thing set, though the pair of pants I actually need to pack is still damp. I need to buy contact lens saline. But I struggle with the whole now I need makeup and makeup remover and I can't pack the actual face makeup until after I put it on in the morning...UGH!
I'm watching football.

An unvented fan could lead to some much bigger problems down the line. And yes, there are lots of good people out there. ❤️ Better luck today!

I have 3 more card challenges to do, but I think I will take today off. I’ve got the jitters from too much delicious cold brew (about 6oz, I’m such a lightweight!) and anyway, I’ve been sitting a lot lately…
I have more energy for everything when the sun is out but I’m more of an indoor cat, sunshine doesn’t tempt me to go outside as much as it should. I try to get a walk in most days but I’m not someone who sits/does anything outside for hours on end as a rule.
If the weather is gloomy I’m a bit gloomy, but the weather doesn’t make as much of a difference to my crafty output than other factors - interruptions, inspiration, deadlines, general energy levels. My routine is to sit down at my desk after lunch most days but sometimes I give up a lot earlier than I should. The Big Dark is a hard adjustment.
