We have not had a QOTWeek recently . . . so?
What kind of weather makes it the most conducive to scrap or craft? Do you ever feel like it is "XYZ" outside so I should be outside doing outside things? I love summer the heat and sunny weather even when it's not hot, so anytime it gets over 20C and clear blue skies, I have to get outside. If it's 30C or above, I will be seeking out a place to swim. So..... crappy rainy weather is the most conducive to scrap, because I'm not feeling guilty about 'wasting' the day indoors.

I got myself out of the house for a change Nothing too exciting, but I took care of an errand that was going to (literally) weigh me down on Tuesday, dropping off some antiques price guide books for the library book sale You better believe I was happy to get rid of the Hummel one! After I got some fresh air and got my wiggles/jitters out, I did a quick half-Sheetload, all the way finished! Maybe the Oct challenges have helped retrain me to get stuff finished all the way and not dither so much. Speaking of dithering, I made the middles of about 8 granny squares before I said "bleep this" and started a v-stripe version of the blanket instead. In 2 days I have gotten through 4 color rows already! It's a really quick easy pattern, essentially no counting. It will help me channel some election stress and the colors are ah-mazing. Aster, lobelia, magenta and teal so far - doesn't that sound divine?!

Well, Sunday did not go much better than Saturday for the scrapping, but I managed to make two pages in between the chaos.
Today I am chaperoning another 5th grade fieldtrip (2 hours not 4 this time) and DH has the day off (he didn't write it on the calendar, otherwise I wouldn't have signed up to help DS teacher...) so who knows when I'll get to sit at my scrap desk. At least I'll get some photos from the event to scrap later...

(((Hugs))) breethefleaDH is unexpectedly home as well - time-change-itis, lol - which has already messed with my morning plans...it's hard to change sheets on a bed someone is sleeping in, lol. and when he did get up he couldn't find the cream of wheat (because I bought Farina insted of namebrand) and he couldn't read the instructions (fair enough) so I ended up making it for him. Of course I slept poorly last night as well so that's playing a role as well. But laundry is started, bed is finally stripped, dishwasher is going, litter boxes are changed, and I'm planning to sign into mom's crop this morning and start making a dent on the 7 layouts I'm behind on SG's 52 week challenge.

I just had a couple of "quick calls" to make this morning before starting on my last couple of pages for next year's family calendar. I need to put together the November page and the title pages (December's page was constructed last Christmas season).
The first call required a few back & forth messages, but finally got dh's appointment tomorrow cancelled.
The second call, including the original everlasting "hold" the discussion with the rep and the holds HE put me on, took 1 hour 15 minutes. But we now have an appointment to have dh's TV satellite service innitiated.
While on what felt like permanent hold, I used some leftovers from last week's crop to put together a couple of Christmas cards, but not what you would call a productive morning (sigh).

I do not fly well. I am not afraid of flying...I just hate it. When I fly on vacation, I bring minimal makeup. Heck, I bring no make up; it's more like I bring minimal toiletries. Traveling for work is a whole other thing. I think I have the clothing thing set, though the pair of pants I actually need to pack is still damp. I need to buy contact lens saline. But I struggle with the whole now I need makeup and makeup remover and I can't pack the actual face makeup until after I put it on in the morning...UGH! I'm watching football. When I travel, I leave my things that I will need in the morning out on my bathroom counter. ie contact stuff, hair brush, tooth brush, face stuff, meds. That way I don't forget to pack it after. Also, I don't know if it's too late to order this but I love this product for helping remove makeup: Make Up Eraser

It is interesting to read everyone's responses about QOTW. AussieMeg , I am totally with you! But not only does the air need to warm--so does the water which doesn't happen here until about July4th. joblackford You accomplished a few things! Glad the Hummel book is gone, good riddance! breetheflea Ah yes, field trips! Know that the teacher really appreciates your help--plus you do get photos and a front row seat! I enjoyed chaperoning field trips and the teachers knew I could handle the tougher kids too. grammadee AAAAACCCCKKKK! No, not the forever hold! I hope you used speaker phone. Shakti Did your teams win? My DH has taken to watching the highlight reels on YouTube, so he can get several games watched in the same amount of time, LOL! scrappyrabbit I'm the same about packing morning things, but also pack same sample sizes of some items as well! Well I am on the countdown to go to my 7 day crop. Mom flies in on 11/7 to Fargo, so I will need to be unpacked at the hotel to have room for her luggage when I pick her up. It's easier than having her fly to Brainerd and then drive. We will come home on 11/14, and 11/15 is my 65th birthday! We will stay here through 11/18 then head to the Twin Cities to spend time with my niece. I will be back on 11/20 or so. Then 2 weeks later we leave on our 20th Wedding Anniversary trip! I am excited!

I am in my hotel room, exhausted. I will need to wander down to the bistro for a light dinner, having been up and out too early, gotten not quite enough breakfast, and too much lunch a little too late. I do not think I have two functioning brain cells at the moment. justjac, I saw your cards in CARDtober Sunday. I am finally on the laptop, not the iPad, and intended to say intelligible things about them, but see above. I promise I'll be back in the morning to leave you/them some love. I actually couldn't figure out how to tag...I started typing "@" and it looked wrong and felt totally unfamiliar. I had to look it up in the help guide.

Then 2 weeks later we leave on our 20th Wedding Anniversary trip! Ooooh, exciting! Where are you going? (Apologies if you've mentioned it already, if so, I must have missed it.) Yes, very exciting! DH mentioned about 5 weeks ago we could plan a trip for our anniversary . . . I started with Bora, Bora and Tahiti (asked for the moon strategy)-->he asked for somewhere closer, US Virgin Islands? But then decided planning a trip with 2 months notice from scratch would be a bit of a challenge especially in a place still damaged by Hurricane Ian (poor infrastructure and corruption). Asked if he would do a cruise? I went on one (scrapbooking), for my 60th birthday 5 years ago. After a few discussions with a friend or two of his he decided it would be OK. My best reason? I eat GF/DF and on a cruise it is VERY easy. We (I) always struggle with eating out and away from home.
So we are leaving from Miami to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic-->San Jaun, Puerto Rico-->Phillipsburg, St. Maarten-->Castries, St. Lucia-->St. John's, Antigua-->St. Croix, USVI. We have fun excursions planned with most of them involving water A little history thrown in for some balance. TWO formal nights that DH has agreed to dress-up for photos . Probably a longer answer than required BUT CAN YOU TELL I AM SUPER EXCITED!!! I have most of my "cruise clothing" shopping done as well as the recommended amenities for the cabin and cruise etc. I've watched a bunch of YouTube videos and decided that many of these items will make things more comfortable.

That sounds like a fabulous trip angel97701 ! Imagine how much fun you're going to have scrapping the photos! Since I have been working on my cruise album from 2019, I had a few papers BUT I also went shopping. Since I was shopping I picked up items to scrap this cruise that are papers/embellishments particular to the places we will be visiting.

Good morning, PEAs!
I am heading into town for 10% Tuesday. The first Tuesday of the month is the day I pick up staples. The store has a scratch card that is supposed to give "up to 50% off", but I have never scored more than ten. That said, ten percent off is better than full price LOL.
Still kind of in a creative funk in the aftermath of the in person crop the last weekend in October. Lots of little things that need doing, and of course each of those things takes longer than I thought it would.
I now have an idea for my November calendar page, but need to get my hands on the right photo for it. Also locating photos for the collage I want to put on the calendar cover. So lots of looking, sifting through photos and page plans. Not much actually creating anything...

I got some crochet done at the library craft meet up and while waiting for a seat for lunch out with hubby. I added a cross body strap to my project bag which makes it easier to crochet while standing around Now I'm home I've got one last card challenge to get done, the pocket card design. I haven't decided what purpose/holiday I want it to be for, so I might dig into scraps and see what I have to be used that will fit on the panels. I think I might copy grammadee and make it work with a Christmas letter. My parents and my aunt would enjoy that.

No crafty time for me today. A holistic health care appointment takes an hour to get there, 1.5 hours there, and an hour to get home. Except I usually stop in town to grocery shop. Forgot my list, so a slower than normal trip to make sure I remembered everything. (As far as I know I was successful.) Then once home a quick trip to the gym with DH, trying to make it a habit. Then home to cook dinner, and now I am tired! joblackford--glad you had some crocheting time! grammadee--I'm in the flux of trying to get ready for my in-person crop, get all chores done, and so on so I totally get it. You had a really productive crop, so a little down time is to be expected! breetheflea--Glad you didn't get rained on for the FT. I am sure your DS and his teacher really appreciated your willingness to go along! Shakti Hope that the work week away is going well! That you've also caught up on sleep! Linda You rock at getting pages done! Yes mom's crops are super helpful to stay focused. Plus you have to plan your other activities around when the crop will be open, so all around a good motivator!

Since I am still waking up on east coast time (but EST this morning, unlike yesterday when it was EDT!) I have already had time to window-shopping ACOT's Christmas sale and cherry hunt (which wasn't terribly...fruitful). I did manage a little retail therapy. I got HA's Christmas Rose stamp set as a freebie from somewhere last year and noticed I've been avoiding using it because I don't have the die. I figured I'd donate it after holiday crafting season was over this year if it was still untouched, but ACOT had the coordinating cut! I told them to hold it, so now I have something to look forward to next year (because of course that will be the only new thing, right?).
Hope everyone is doing ok this morning.

Good morning. A couple of things going on around here today. I plan to cook up another pot of tomatoes in prep for a couple of large lasagnas on Friday as weii as some containers of cooked tomatoes frozen for later use. Second item on the agenda is picking up dgs to take him to hockey practice then come out to the farm for the night. (His mom is working a BINGO as a fund raiser for his hockey club). Glad you had some YOU time this morning, Shakti , so important when you are in an unfamiliar routine. Even if your internal clock had to trick you to get it LOL. Have fun planning your week long crop, angel97701 . I managed a couple of cards, created from crop leftovers, yesterday, and found a couple of pic's for my calendar, but nothing else crafty. I am hoping to have everything set up to put those pages together during mom 's morning crop tomorrow. Maybe if I can finish the MUST do's I will be able to relax and just play with the photos and supplies I want to play with, and that will get my mojo going...

Good morning, nice sunrise here this morning and the lake is glass! On the final count down for packing for the crop. Did snacks while grocery shopping, few more food items due to GF/DF. So glad I am less stressed as I can eat more raw veggies and fruits. 😊
Page kits are planned. Just have to think about a few more embellishments? Then pack up the lot!
Also thinking ahead to the cruise 😃. Contacted someone through FB and she did a file for me to label our cruising ducks! More later!

Good Thursday morning, PEAple! I have just a minute now while dgs has breakfast with Grampa. Then we need to read. Then Grampa is driving him to school. When I have the house to myself, I hope to get started on a couple of pages that have been living in my head...
I signed up for a free scrapbooking class, and expecting the first email this morning. Will see what inspiration that brings...

I made three cards today --boring ones, not worth posting anywhere-- and mailed one of them. The other two are going in my stash for the next time I need a random Winnie the Pooh themed card... Today seems very long, and it's only 11:24, I might try to sit at my desk again and see I can muster up enough creativity to make a scrapbook page before it's time to pick up DS from school.

Today seems very long, and it's only 11:24 I blame Jet Lag--from the time change. Yesterday I tried to rush my dgs out the door for hockey practice a whole hour early b/c it seemed like the whole day had gone by already. Then he showed me his phone with the time displayed...

I keep asking if it's time for our lunchtime coffee yet... at 9:30am! Yesterday I brought home two more totes of crap from FIL's house. I'm trying to clear out as much of the cut glass/crystal as I can before the thrift stores say they have too much and refuse to take it. I don't know if that day will come, or when, but FIL agreed that no one wants it so I'm not going to argue. I got 80% of it back out the door with hubby this morning. He's doing a donation run after clearing crap from his mom's house so I rushed to wash it all and pack it back up to leave with him. I also brought home the "1000 Victorian glass toothpick holders" collection guide - argh! - and a shelf full of crystal toothpick holders. Every collection seemed to have a few guide books that went with it. I only realized there was a toothpick jar collection when I found the book. They were all crammed into a Carnival glass collection cabinet. Did you know there is/was a Toothpick Holder Collection Society? I'm done dealing with glass for today. I need to tidy up my desk and see where I'm up to with cards now that I've finished CARDtober

joblackford NO idea that had a Toothpick Holder Collection Society! LOL, I am so sorry that you have another HUGE collection of something to sort and sell and donate! Good luck! breetheflea Mojo being stuck is no fun. Also know the feeling when cards are just meh, but still we need the creative outlet. grammadee Yepper, sun will be up earlier for just a few more days, but it sure is dark EARLY!!!!! We've discovered that the only streetlight really is right on our property. Our evening walks after dinner will have to become before dinner afternoon walks. Hope everyone else is doing OK! Mom's flight had a mechanical delay at she will be 2.5 hours later than expected. I'm all unpacked and have had a light snack. Now I'm 2peeing!

Have fun at your crop, angel97701. Hope your mom got there okay. joblackford, I can't believe all the detailed work you are doing getting all those "collectibles" ready for sale. I had never heard of one for toothpick holders! Today is lasagna day. Tomatoes have been cooked. Going into town this morning to pick up last minute groceries. Will start cooking meat mid afternoon so the lasagna's are ready for supper for 8 of us. TTYL...
