It's that time of year again ~~ Amazing Race 2025 starts tonight. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________Why don't you change your title to say SPOILERS. Then warn people that spoilers are okay after the show has aired in their time zone. Yes, this. Just let people post what they want, after it's been aired. Anyone who doesn't want spoilers knows to stay out of the thread. I don't understand why spoilers have to be in closed caption. Usually we just post spoilers and people know to stay off the thread until the episode is watched.I don't care if a person uses the spoiler box or not. Do whatever you want to do! Gheez, some people want to control everything.
I'm watching it now (Atlantic Time, Canada). There are going to be a few new racing rules this year and Phil says to be prepared for the unexpected. There are 14 teams and 2 teams will be eliminated in the 1st Race. Let the RACE begin! "The Amazing Race" Season 37 will feature the following teams of two: Alyssa Borden and Josiah Borden: Married couple Bernie Gutierrez and Carrigain Scadden: Friends Brett Hamby and Mark Romain: Married couple Carson McCalley and Jack Dodge: Best friends Courtney Ramsey and Jasmin Carey: Dating Ernest Cato and Bridget Cato: Father and daughter Han Nguyen and Holden Nguyen: Siblings Jackye Clayton and Lauren McKinney: Sisters Jonathan Towns and Ana Towns: Married couple Mark Crawford and Larry Graham: Best friends Melinda Papadeas and Erika Papadeas :Mother and daughter Nick Fiorito and Mike Fiorito: Brothers Jeff 'Pops' Bailey and Jeff Bailey: Father and son Scott Thompson and Lori Thompson: Married couple

I always enjoy Amazing Race for a couple of reasons: You have to EARN your spot, not get voted in or out. And they go such interesting places! No way I would ever have been able to hoist myself up to the bottom of that tower to start the climb. And my knees hurt just thinking of all the steps up to that Buda.

We enjoyed watching last night. I felt bad for the two teams that went home. They definitely put all they had into the challenges.

having lived in hong kong 40 yrs ago.. it was fun to see typical hong kong things like dealing with the taxi drivers. we used to take a small book of maps..in chinese and english.. and point to where we wanted to go.

It was a fun start to a new season. I had just been re-watching a very old season (2!) recently, and the difference from back then is crazy! Number 1, Phil looked like a toddler back then, LOL! Number 2, I forgot just how badly behaved people used to be--and while in other countries. Yikes. I much prefer the more civilized game play of recent seasons. The fork in the road was an interesting way to start. Just a fancy detour, really, but it still added a bit of a twist. So we're now at 12 teams, which I assume means at some future point we'll lose 2 teams in one episode again.

We just finished. It was a great first episode. We already don't like the guy who was separated from his wife for a year. When she was climbing the bamboo, I wanted to tell him to shut up. Just because they didn't finish first in the singing challenge, he was all pissed off on the mat. We couldn't recognize any of the teams with their make-up on!

I missed the last hour our electricity went out. So I don’t know who was eliminated. I put the answer in the spoiler for you. Mark Crawford and Larry Graham are a team of Retired Firefighters on The Amazing Race 37.
Self-proclaimed "fishes out of water", Mark and Larry had little travel experience. Despite being the in the middle of the pack at the Dance side of the Fork in the Road, the retired firefighters struggled with the task, dropping them to last and resulting in them being one of the first two teams eliminated.
Jackye Clayton and Lauren McKinney are a team of Sisters on The Amazing Race 37.
The sisters were excited for the opportunity, but Jackye's difficulty descending the stairs at Tian Tan Buddha due to a traumatic incident in the past, resulted in them missing a ferry the rest of the teams got on. They fell too far behind the pack and never saw another team again, becoming one of the first two teams eliminated.
"The Amazing Race" Season 37 will feature the following teams of two: Alyssa Borden and Josiah Borden: Married couple Bernie Gutierrez and Carrigain Scadden: Friends Brett Hamby and Mark Romain: Married couple Carson McCalley and Jack Dodge: Best friends Courtney Ramsey and Jasmin Carey: Dating Ernest Cato and Bridget Cato: Father and daughter Han Nguyen and Holden Nguyen: Siblings Jackye Clayton and Lauren McKinney: Sisters Jonathan Towns and Ana Towns: Married couple Mark Crawford and Larry Graham: Best friends Melinda Papadeas and Erika Papadeas :Mother and daughter Nick Fiorito and Mike Fiorito: Brothers Jeff 'Pops' Bailey and Jeff Bailey: Father and son Scott Thompson and Lori Thompson: Married couple

I never told you guys that my son and I are going to apply to be on TAR in the future. I am CONVINCED we will win (or at least be top 5! lol) He told me the other day we can apply after he graduates (he's a Junior at U of Tampa). Anyhow... The two teams that were eliminated deserved to go. They were just the slowest and not the strongest. I did like the retired ffs though. Who I do NOT like is married couple (I think they are married?) in maroon. Sorry... it'll take me weeks before I get their names. Even my DH is watching with me and he got an annoying vibe from the guy too. Then when they came in 2nd on the mat and he looked all pissed off and said "that's not good enough". He just seemed cocky and cranky. She really wasn't much better. At one of the pit stops they were both visibly annoyed the other teams had caught them already. Sorry you aren't winning the race w/in the first 12 hours. Get a grip.

Agree that the guy in the married couple's response to coming in 2nd puts him on my "they better not win" list. Especially compared to the humble response of the teams that did get there first. I felt bad for the firefighters getting eliminated while so many singers came in after them, but they made the choice to pick dance while others were left with no choice (IIRC). Looking forward to see you and your DS, gina, but given some teams have applied 5+ times before getting picked, I think you should apply now.

I felt terrible for Jonathan and Ana to get to the second ferry first and to see almost the entire cast catch up to them during their 30+ minute wait for the ferry. I’d be salty too.
The sisters had such amazing spirit and the one afraid of stairs…it must have been awful for her but she really pushed through.
I felt bad for the retired fighters too. They seemed like such good guys.
I don’t remember his name but it was crazy how that one guy raced to the top of that tower - it was like he had spider legs or something.
@gina good luck applying for the show!! It would be so much fun to root for you and your son!!!

That makes sense...I didn't hear him say that. They also showed an extremely short clip of him at his job hanging off a huge cylinder in the air and contouring his body. I thought it was very impressive and showed the strength and control he has.

I love The Amazing Race. I’ve watched every season since it first aired and have gone back and watched most seasons twice (except the family season).
I didn’t care for the new fork in the road. I thought it should have been the last 2 teams to the mat period who should have been eliminated. Other than that it was a great first episode.
Have high hopes for this season after a few not so great ones lately mostly due to Covid which they couldn’t help.

I don't recall who that would have been if they did it that way. I know that generally speaking the dancing teams finished more quickly than the singing teams, but I forget the exact order people arrived, other than the very last team, that is. It certainly was a twist to do things this way. It really put extra pressure on people when they chose their task. We saw with the one team who had a good dancer, but chose to sing because they felt there were already too many dancing teams that it made people make choices they normally would not have made.

We just watched last night's episode. I'm not a big fan of the intersection and felt bad for the father/daughter duo. I can't read music so I would have struggled with the drums too. The Sumo wrestling thing was funny.
The team who came in second last week came in first this week and he kind of apologized for his behavior in the first leg.
I love the older married couple with 8 sons. They went from last place to 2nd place and he rocked the drum challenge.
