TheKatsMeow -- He's a beauty.
I've thought about attaching a Fiskars stamp press to a flat base using a hinge. I tried attaching the stamp press to my CM self-healing mat and the basic idea worked well. The problem was that the tape wasn't stable enough to hold the stamp press in the exact same position every time. It got close though -- within 1/16". I think the advantage of the design with the stamp press might be that the depth of the stamp doesn't matter.

I'm actually really excited to start re-organizing all my clear stamps in the Avery Elle pockets and inventory my inks using Jennifer's free downloads. www.jennifermcguireink.com/2014/04/complete-ink-swatch-book-downloads.html

I use them so much more and it makes me actually clean up more often I didn't have too many inks. But because of the MISTI and using some of the solid stamps, I did buy a few of the Hero Arts colored cubes. I used to have all the SU inks but wasn't using them and sold them about 5 or 6 years ago. So I'm hoping that the cubes will do because I don't want to reinvest in a bunch of full size pads again

I'm doing mine the same way but I ordered 1 pk of avery elle pockets and 1 pack of 200 dvd pockets to compare. They are the same within 1/2 gram so if I need more, I'll buy the dvd pockets again. $12 for 200 of them. I bought duralar to put the stamps on.

Do they have the flap like the avery Elle pockets? The duralar is sitting in my amazon cart waiting for me to finish gathering the rest of my order.

These are the pockets I got. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RU9ALWQ/ Each weighs 4 grams while the Avery elle weigh 4.5. The Avery are a tiny bit stiffer but I wouldn't be able to tell the difference if they weren't side by side. I got the 11 x 14 duralar since I was cutting them about 5.5 x 6. I can get 4 out of a sheet of duralar.

Do these pockets fill larger stamps? I've been using DVD pockets from Office Depot (which were initially recommended by Jennifer McGuire before all these companies started making their own) and I can't say that I'm super happy with them. They fit standard size stamps but not bigger ones. For those I have to keep their original packaging and depending on how often I use them, the packaging doesn't seem to last very long, maybe because I'm a little impatient when trying to "stuff" them back it. And what about the larger square size cling stamps? What do you use for those?

When I get home I'll check and see if my su backgrounds will fit in one. The envelopes are about 5.5" wide. I'm not sure how tall they are. I cut mine down too.

I just asked to join the Stamping Enablers group, after reading this whole thread.
I have a MISTI and love it. I got one back in October, when they were still being handmade by Iliana. It's a terrific tool and I have no regrets about buying it. I am sorry that now there is more drama than there needs to be - the almost universal praise for the MISTI would have been enough to keep sales at a high level. It seems that trying to over manage the fans and users has backfired to some degree.

I'm using my Fuse tool to make my own pockets for the larger sets. I'm using an 8 1/2 x 11 page protector to do this.

I don't think I would like the smaller size of the DVD envelopes. I tried DVD envelopes for my dies in the past, and really was not happy with it. Are these envelopes clear?

Yes. They are pretty much identical to the avery elle envelopes. They fit perfectly in my 4-drawer storage cubes.
