I heard FDR is using that new-fangled radio to address the American people directly. I don't know much about radio, but I know I don't like it.

To me Twitter is the modern day version of writing on the bathroom wall. I think the concept is stupid and self indulgent and have no use for it. I don't know why grown men & women would waste time with it. I totally used to feel the same way, which was validated by watching my teenagers use twitter. Then I started following news agencies, a lot of them. And the Pope. And the Dalai Lama. And the British Monarchy, the CIA, the Department of Defense, the National Guard, the University of Florida, and a few others...including my children. Following my children gave me an insight into their world. Following about seven widely different news sources gave me insight to different ways of reporting similar stories. Following the Pope gives me hope. Following the CIA makes me laugh (they are actually pretty funny.) Etc, etc, etc. I have retweeted exact three things. But I have learned how much I can actually learn by following people/agencies on twitter.

Use Twitter or don't but this is more childish than the president using Twitter.

It's not a newspaper! We'll rot our brains! And now, tv news is the province of the olds. In the immortal words of Corny Collins, now you can fight it, or you can rock out to it.

This is where my mind always goes when I see people lamenting the use of the newest form of communication -by whoever. Sorry ~Lauren~. Although, you do have a point that The President - any President- should not be mocking anyone. Despite the disagreement in interpretation, it hasn't been an isolated incident. That's the thing.

I don't know why grown men & women would waste time with it. This is a bit harsh and old fashioned maybe! Lots of people like medical people, scientists, educators etc., use Twitter as an immediate real-time asset to discuss things of importance in their fields with their colleagues. That's hardly stupid, self indulgent and time wasting!

I get all my news from Facebook & Twitter so I think it's great that he's active on social media. Hold on to your hat because the White House even has a Snapchat. Edited to say that I get my news from reliable news sources that have social media accounts on various platforms of social media. Not Betsy Lou who has a twitter and thinks she's the BBC. LOL Betsy Lou! I think she's on my FB, and her agenda is scary

Gotta love it all; so typical 2 Peas. LOL. Let's see, we've got the snide, those who run with the snide to see if they can top it and the people whose sole contribution to the thread is playing grammar police or personally attacking because they have nothing to add to the discussion. In some ways it's strangely comforting that some things never change. As to those who actually addressed the content of the OP, thanks. We'll have to agree to disagree on the issue.

Oh come on. Bibi wasn't hostile towards Obama until Obama was disdainful and dismissive of him, which pretty much started the day he took the oath of office. Obama, and his entire staff, are anti-Semites of the highest order. They haven't even tried to hide how much they dislike Israel. You have to be willfully blind to not see it. They whole heartedly support the destruction if Israel. I'm ashamed of how they have treated bibi and Israel over the last 6 years. Deeply ashamed. So I cheer anything bibi has to say about Obama at this point - he has the right and Obama deserves every bit of it. WTactualF. @scrappower for the win!

I don't use Twitter, but it's basically micro-blogging, with a 140 character limitation, correct? so how people choose to use it is totally on them. ITA - and much of the information is Misinformation but you can get the same watching the news. No one fact checks anymore. Totally depends on who you follow. You are in control of what you get in your feed.

I follow the President on Twitter, and I haven't seen any mocking tweets. As far at it being childish, no, I don't find it so. It's just another way to communicate, and he's savvy enough to realize that it's a platform that a lot of young people use. Also, I've never seen him tweet anything that wasn't already in the news somewhere else. He's just maybe trying to reach a different audience. Or even know about it, for that matter. Speakin' of gold.

Also typical: here she comes to pretend she just wanted an intelligent discussion, rather than yet another pot-stirrer based on some faux outrage. Was he wearing flip flops while he tweeted? That would REALLY be worthy of an uproar!
Old as Moses' robe.

Speakin' of gold. Greta was nice enough to show it full screen on her show. yep, childish - but not surprising for him. He's like that any time someone doesn't agree with him. He was called something like a school age bully - that fits him.
Expect to hear it soon aimed toward Walker (WI) since walker responded to DBO's comment that he needed more knowledge on foreign policy. Walker replied with the truth. It's not a topic DBO should have brought up - considering.

I heard FDR is using that new-fangled radio to address the American people directly. I don't know much about radio, but I know I don't like it. On Easter, my father was talking about how his father only grudgingly bought a radio in the 1930s, after much lobbying from his children. He only listened to it once a week – for Mr. Roosevelt's "Fireside Chats." My grandfather: the discerning technophobe.
