Sorry, all the "protestors" that are on TV right now are rioting and looting and destroying property. And yes, they look positively gleeful. There are reports that here are 7 police officers that have been injured so far. You can see ALL of them? You seem to be enjoying splitting hairs with your ridiculous semantics, foolana. Yes, ALL the people we can see on TV are ALL that we can see; so, yes, they're ALL looting and destroying property and exercising criminal behavior. No matter how you slice it, they're ALL thugs, punks, and criminals breaking the law. ALL of them! That we can see, of course.

And no one mentioned race. Crime is crime. Has nothing to do with skin color. If you think what these looters are doing is justified, then just come right out & say it. Stop twisting things.

In one of my police wife groups a lot of the ladies are down that way and their DHs work there. They are all reporting theirs DHs have been hit with bricks, bottles with fire among other stuff. One woman said her DH dept can't afford the proper gear for something like this so he is out there in regular uniform. Talk is going around where my DH works about asking them to volunteer to go down there since we're a little less than 2hrs away. I really am nervous for him to go if that happens. His Kevlar vest is outdated by many years and we can't afford a new one. Oh my goodness! Our police in the UK are provided with everything as part of uniform, including Kevlar vests - and full riot gear, shields and vehicles if the situation warrants it.....and their families worry. I cannot imagine how stressed and worried the families of police personnel out there tonight must be.......especially if they are just in regular uniform! My thoughts are with all police personnel out there tonight in the present circumstances, it sounds like a scary place to be. A lot of depts do provide at least uniforms and a vest. Whether it be with a uniform allowance yearly or them buying it for you. Some depts (mostly smaller places) don't unfortunately and you're required to buy it yourself. It's NOT cheap. Some go completely without a vest because they can't afford one. DH is outdated but he wears it out of habit but it won't protect him.

its interesting that so many of the "protesters" have backpacks!!! hmmmmm.... cindy Our news is reporting that a good many of the rioters (I call it like I see it) are indeed school age... a lot of the trouble started right after school got out and right after Mr. Gray's funeral. The governor has just put the National Guard on alert... ETA: and the baseball game has been postponed...

Orioles game is finally cancelled. I don't care about the game. It can be replayed. But I do care that it took them this long to call it. I hope people chose to stay home and there aren't a large amount of people now trying to turn around and leave Camden Yards.

So scary. I live 45 minutes from Baltimore. I pray for the firefighters and police officers. The news showed people looting a grocery store. Cars pulled up and they were loading in the cars. Then a person came and threaten the news.

For what it's worth, the Baltimore station, WBAL, reported earlier that it was posted on social media that this whole thing was planned for 3:00, when the kids walked out of class. It's been reported on our local stations throughout this that most of the rioters are kids.

I was in Baltimore with my Husband and son for a business trip. The protesters came through on Thursday around dinner time, walking through traffic. My husband and son happened to be caught in the middle of it when they ran out to get dinner. All I heard from the hotel room was sirens and yelling. It was frightening to say the least and this was on the peaceful day. I feel bad for the all the needless suffering. I don't know the facts on the murder case, so I can't really comment on it. But rioting and looting is not the answer.

This is such a terrible situation. I feel horrible for the individuals and businesses that have been harmed! I would be feeling very fearful and anxious if I lived in the vicinity.
I do think that the violence and destruction that is going on is more than just "thug mentality". I think it's an indication of how hopeless and angry these people are. People who feel like they have recourse, hope, and a way to make things better, don't behave that way.

I live about an hour from Baltimore but have friends and family there. I am so worried for them. The news has been covering this all day and sometimes I feel like the media just incites more people to do something.
I feel for the family of Freddie Gray, his twin sister came on TV over the weekend and asked everyone NOT to do anything. That justice would be served in a lawful way. It seems like no one is honoring the family wishes. It's so sad all around. They buried him today and are now dealing with this.
The governor has just declared a state of emergency and has activated the National Guard. How can this be happening?

Children who lack parental involvement. Feeling angry. Recipe for disaster. I hope they are able to get a handle on the situation without any incident on either "side".

There are photo's of all those "out of towner's" causing violence, looting and running out of the CVS with toilet paper. Enough of this bullshit. The dumbass Governor should have called in the National Guard hours ago.
