This is a close one, and holds some degree of importance to Americans. Be interesting to have British Peas weigh in.

This Brit will be, but maybe not all night. I hear the key time for results is around 3/4am......not sure I can manage that although the telly will go on early in the morning.

I've voted and will be watching the first results as they come in, in the early hours of tomorrow morning. Not all constituencies will declare overnight but there should be enough by dawn if not just before to see how things are working out.
If the opinion polls are correct this could be extremely close - or how people actually vote could be totally different to what the opinion polls predicted yesterday, of course - so it will interesting to see how things go after midnight when the results start coming in.

DD19, DS17 and I will be staying up all night to watch the results come in. None of us is hugely political, but it's expected to be so close this time, that it might actually be exciting!

I've also voted, but won't be staying up. I have an early hospital appointment 50 miles from home. So I've decided on getting my beauty sleep and turning the TV on as soon as I wake up

Or terrifying depending on your position I guess true!! Our polling stations close at 10pm and it looks as though the people who have to vote late in the day are on their way to our local polling station now. It's a working day tomorrow so I guess a lot of people will be getting their results news from Breakfast TV rather than staying up to watch.

I've voted.
I think it will be close enough that we won't have a definitive answer straight away. I think we're headed for another coalition & that it will be some days before it's settled. I'm prepared to be proved wrong though.
Locally it's a done deal who my MP will be, the same party has won for something like 140 years with a huge majority!

Same here... I would be absolutely shocked if there was a change in this constituency - this is regarded as a safe seat for his party.

We might all be in for a bit of a shock depending on which side of the fence you are I'll watch some of tonight's/early morning results depending on how long I can stay awake for.

I voted at about 8.15pm, as soon as I got in from work. There was a queue right behind me, or I'd have stopped to ask how the day had been in terms of turnout. I've sat on the other side of the table many times, and I know what a long day it is and so boring if it's really quiet! Overall I'm fairly glad I'm not working on a polling station this time, but I do have a bit regret not being involved in what could be such an important election.
My constituency is probably a safe seat, it's not forecast to change but it has done before, and been very close in the not too distant past, so nothing will be sure here until the official count is in. Just hope it doesn't take three recounts this time!
I'd like to stay up to see the results come in, but I'm pretty tired so not sure I can last it out.

You are the 3rd or 4th person I've heard talking about a queue, I find that encouraging My polling station was steadily busy at around 5pm when I voted & having driven past twice since it seems it still is. I'm of the opinion that we should *have* to vote, even if that means you spoil your paper in protest.

Same here... I would be absolutely shocked if there was a change in this constituency - this is regarded as a safe seat for his party. It's always been really close here too. Our constituency returned the first ever SNP MP in a by-election in 1945, but since then it's always been a real Labour stronghold. However, in the breakdown by local council area of the Referendum results, this area was overwhelmingly 'yes', so the SNP may well be victorious here tonight. And of course, that same result may well be echoed across the country.

I won't be - watching a little of the news as the voting time winds down but will catch up in the morning. It's been a long day for Eamonn and Stephen et al - Sky news is pulling everyone in including the tea lady as far as I can see!!

Yes, interesting. Wonder how accurate their exit polls have been in the past?

I hadn't, so just looked. That's a bigger margin than all recent predictions up to now, so very interesting if it's right.

In all the years I have voted, i have never had to queue - and I can't imagine going out to vote so close to poll closing time either. Happily for me, I didn't have to go and vote today as I took the postal option!

Have you seen the BBC exit poll??? I've just read it. I see they have the SNP at 58 seats, which is a large minority in Westminster, and I'm sure there will be no Tory MPs in Scotland, so it will be fascinating to see how it all pans out.

I drove past our polling station early this morning and there were about five people outside - that's a queue in this village!
