I would love to spend the day coloring, but I would have to choose between coloring and playing barbies.

I've always liked to color. It's a relaxing thing to do while watching tv. Especially after a couple glasses of wine and I don't feel like doing any more puzzles.

I work about 55 hours a week, and I have a coloring book. (Well, on backorder anyway) ...

I think it's the new Zen tangle. I haven't gotten into either one. And I have no desire to. I'm busy enough scrapbooking making cards volunteering at the zoo volunteering at church Volunteering with homeless and just enjoying being retired.

No, I really don't start coloring until my kids get home from school. Helps me tune them out completely.

So is it just me, but if you think adults coloring is a stupid hobby it's because you're busy trying to up Mother Theresa and save humanity or cure cancer?

Yes we are coloring while we sit in our pajamas and curlers, sipping coffee and watching soaps all day. In reality, I still have coloring books I had as a child with pages colored by my grandmother. Glad she took the time to color with me. Some of my favorite childhood memories. Wait! I thought all the soaps were gone?

I work a full time job, take care of my MIL with dementia, have a husband, son and a home and still mange to color occasionally just like I would do any other hobby. However, I am not dexterous enough to f**k and color at the same time. I will have to work on those skills I guess. This wins!

Well I don't color EVERY day. Quite often, I have breakfast or lunch at the club with a friend. I go shopping a fair amount. Go for walks in the river valley. Get my nails done (that reminds me, I need to schedule a pedi). You know, things are pretty busy around here. But I do like to color... It's good for my stress level

I just got home from a day at the hospital getting IV treatment - rushed home to get my kids with Autism off the bus. Is that okay with you? Does that meet your standards of busy? I break out my coloring books and markers, pencils and pens after I bathe and put my 13 yo to bed. And color for 2-3 hours while Dh and I watch tv until I go to bed. I then wake up at 5:20 so that I can make breakfast for, dress, and put my 13 yo on his special Ed bus that comes at 6:30. He yells at me the whole time - no joke - because he hates waking up that early. The yelling starts again when he gets off the bus at 2:45. Well, that and my immune system is trying to destroy my eyes, literally, so I'm involved in IV steroid treatment which makes me irritable - can you tell? It is either treatment or go blind. Not great choices. All you f*ing do is work OUTSIDE of the home, Yubon Peatlejuice? I'd trade for your easy-peasy life any day! You come live my life and see how long you last before you beg to switch back. I will even buy you all the f*ing coloring supplies you could even dream of. All of them. You would get to see AND live the dream life I obviously have because I post coloring pics. You wouldn't make it one week.

I'm a card maker/rubber stamper so I have been colouring for a long time. I don't have a colouring book but do have enough rubber stamps to keep me busy for like forever.
I am not jealousy of SAHM colouring but I am jealousy of those who can pea from work. That will get you in big time trouble at my work place.

People make time for what is important to them. I often kick back and do my fun stuff in the evening, while the TV is on or whatever. I'm not a colorer, but I could see that as being a nice, relaxing thing to do while watching TV. I very rarely will sit there and just watch. I always feel like I have to be "doing" something at the same time.
I'm sure that there are things that YOU do with your time that others would find strange or a "waste of time." But our hobbies and interests are what keep us sane.

Lol. It reminds me of the line that I'm sure we've all heard at one point in our scrapbooking years, said by someone looking at our pages or listening to us talk about it: "Very nice, but I wouldn't have time for that" or "How nice that you have time for that." Implication being what? That their lives are SO much busier and important than ours? Or that we're wasting our time and neglecting our kids/husbands/jobs? I am very sorry for those people who have NO free time anywhere in their lives. For the rest of us -- we all choose to use our free time in different ways. I remember one woman who gave me the "I don't have time for that" -- she spent some of her free time gardening, and some of it by doing needlepoint. I detest both of those things. If I had to do needlepoint I'm sure I'd have a nervous breakdown. Anyway, that's my somewhat serious answer to Yubon's post, although we all know she posted it just to be a troll.

Eh, we all have our own hobbies and interests. Some read in their spare time, some color, some troll the Internet.
Different strokes and all that.

I'm another one who doesn't understand the big coloring craze right now. I have no desire to color. My two nieces have done this--with coloring books and crayons--for YEARS..one is 24 and the other 28. They both do it when stressed...however they both have full time jobs....

Maybe I was wrong, but I interpreted this post as just being an attempt at humor on Yubon's part. I did not think she was seriously being judgmental. I know while I don't understand the current coloring craze, I really don't care what others do in their free time.

Meh...personally, I don't think I'd get much satisfaction coloring in some other artists drawings/designs. I'd rather take up a painting class and create something on my own.
