Why are you hesitating? Have you asked your DS what he thinks?
Both DS and DD have been vaccinated and we did discuss it with them and their pediatrician at the time.

I don't have sons, but my friends do. I know some that didn't get it for their boys at first because they didn't realize that it would protect their sons. Now that they realize it will protect their sons, they have gotten the vaccine for their sons.
I plan to get it for my girls, to protect them and their future partners.

My 14 yo has had two out of the three shots for the vaccine. His pediatrician explained that the increase in incidences of oral and anal and rectal cancers is being attributed to HPV as well which wasn't something I'd ever considered so we decided to go ahead. Fortunately, DS hasn't had any reactions to the vaccines.

My friend got it for her three sons. I have daughters and they got it. Just think of poor Michael Douglass.

I don't understand what the hesitation is.
Can you explain what your reservations are?

I had my daughter vaccinated. If my son was younger, or they had the shot for boys when he was younger- he'd have been vaccinated too. No question.

I'm pretty sure Melissa has saved her responses to the numerous other threads about this, and she can copy and paste.
(I'm not having a go at you for starting a thread that has already been discussed many times, I realise not everyone sees all threads.)
I don't know why anyone would NOT choose to keep their children safe. Definitely a no-brainer.

My doctor didn't do it for her son and I am following her lead. It isn't covered here nor was it encouraged so I will leave it up to DS.

We just had our 14 yo appt for dd. her dr recommended we wait as there is a new and improved vaccine which will cover nine strains of the virus making it like 90% effective. She suggested we come back in the fall to start the series when we get the flu shot.

19 may actually be too late, depending on his activities. He may have already been exposed to HPV, The vaccine would not be harmful, but it may be too late to prevent the future effects of HPV infection.

My twin boys have their last shots of the series next month. (My older boys were too old when this became available, or they would have had it, too.)

Read up on Gardisal. I don't think it's such an easy decision to make. Remember, any drug that you put into your body has positive and negative effects. Do your homework and be well informed.
I will say nothing more.

I have taken the liberty of copying Melissa's posts from another thread (hope you don't mind Melissa!)
And from another thread:
And one more:
I promise I'm not being a smart arse by posting all of the above. I think it's important information that you may have missed last time around, and could help you make your decision.
