I thought the class was weird too. Not really a for everyone kind of class.
I think there will be a huge group canceling before January. I am pretty sure I will be one of them and I've been with SC since 2009. It just seems like the kits elsewhere have way more product

It just seems like the kits elsewhere have way more product That's my impression too, once I started looking around cynipidae17. Most SB kits seem to have 8 pieces of patterned paper as well as cardstock, an alpha, 4-5 whole packs of embellishments plus smaller exclusive items like wood veneer. I'm guessing that all the exclusive items SC now produce and include increase the cost, so that means less product for the same $$.

I canceled after fairgrounds. It took a few emails basically them telling me all the benefits if I stay....ahhh no thanks.
After watching the sneeks I am glad I didn't wait. Boy that was a let down. All the kits looked sad:(. I haven't been on the message board to read what they are saying but I bet there will be a wave of more cancellations.

Hi everyone! I just found this board, I'm excited to see some familiar names! I'm using the same username as SC.
I quit my sub after Fairground. What a fugly kit that is. The only thing I found usable (the grey letter stickers) were defective so I have to wait another 2+ weeks of econo shipping to get a replacement. And one of the washi tapes in my grab bag was defective too, they just refunded me the cost of it.
For my last box ever from them, it really highlighted how bad the quality is on their branded products, and that's all you get anymore! I miss the days when you would get a mix of manufacturers.
I've researched a few other kit clubs and there are a few I like (Citrus Twist and Cocoa Daisy), but right now I am holding off. The exchange for the Canadian dollar is really bad right now, and I need to do a destash of my craft room anyway. Plus, my future employment looks rather shaky as of January so I can't really commit to anything until I am sure my job is safe.

I didn't get any back and forths with them when I cancelled. I sent my cancellation convo, they replied that it had been cancelled. Done and done. Not that I would have wanted a sales pitch, though...it probably would have riled me up.

I guess I was one of the internationals it wasn't "worth" keeping since I qualified for free shipping every month.

Hi everyone! So happy to find this place! I just lurk the boards although I have been getting SC kits since 2008. What the hell is going on over there? I am so ready to quit my sub with them. So tired of their BS!!

Those of you from the SC board know that I don't hesitate to state my opinion, but I am also not overly negative. Honestly, lately I just haven't had much to say about stuff because I am not invested anymore. I am going to get my last kit and cancel, but I have known I was going to do that so I just don't care what they do anymore. What genuinely surprises me is the decline in quality. I "get" the decline in quantity (not that I agree with it), but I don't understand how they can repeatedly put out such bad product. This isn't a recent problem. They have been making their own stuff for a looong time now and still have ridiculous quality issues. Worse than that, they have terrible customer service to resolve those issues (thin balloon dog stencils are SUPPOSED to be a snarled, unusable mess, people!) *insert eyeroll* I honestly don't understand how they can send out product as defective as sticky notes that don't stick or come off the pad at all, poorly cut die cuts, etc. Then they refund people $1 for that WHOLE pad of sticky notes, when they charged $3.99 for a teeny, tiny sheet of heart stickers. Really??? I don't even get the planner kit and I was angry for those customers. Okay, there was my angry rant for the month. That's about as ugly as I get. I'm glad to be done with them. Phew!

I had one defective washi and they are refunding me the cost of the entire washi bag, but those poor planner subbers got one measly dollar? Terrible. Maybe they took care of me because I also had defective stickers in the same shipment. Or they want me to shut up and go away.

I just had a rant in there my self. I just don´t get how SC gets away with all this crap. My PL cards for july have snags in them, so I have to cut them, and the die cuts are just awful! Now the board is full of praise again, like people have just forgotten how they are being treated. I have been a rubber since 2008, and NOW I have to commit for a whole year to get the lowest rate?! Really?

I've been getting kits for a looong time now (I remember all the old ones that have gone out of business, some gracefully, some crashing and burning) and have had short subs to SC over the years, along with a lot of other kits. I understand the allure of SC - seeing lots of brand new products each month - but a fair amount of it isn't that appealing and amount of drama over there (that SC creates) is overwhelming. I've bought from (or had short-term subs to) Cocoa Daisy, Hip Kit Club, and Gossamer Blue and they were all good and drama-free. Scraptastic and Citrus Twist also seem to be consistently good.

Finally have a minute to say hello. I'm the same name and avatar over on the SC boards. Not sure if I'll still be subbing there come 2016, but sounds like there are lots of other options.

As far as other PL kits, I really like Scraptastic. It's more expensive but you get a lot of stuff and I really like the cards. If you sub to the scrapbook kit you get to choose between 2 main kits each month.

Hi everyone. I have the same name/avatar over at SC. I'm not especially active on the boards but have been around for a few years. I've stayed away from the latest train-wreck over there because I haven't subbed since the first 12 months of my Project Life kit were over. There was outrage at the time over "great news" that turned out to be price increases/ international shipping fees or something like that. I decided that spending money on my hobby needed to be simple - no jumping through hoops for clues and sneaks, no trawling through message boards for answers, no setting alarms to purchase (if you're quick) in the middle of the night, no excuses for shoddy/missing products, no trying to beat the countdown timer for things in my cart. So I unsubscribed. What a relief!!! I purchase SC during sales or if I see something I really like. No pressure, no confusion and best of all, money left over to shop anywhere else when I see something pretty. I've loved the things I've bought from Scraptastic, Gossamer Blue and Citrus Twist as well as some local Aussie companies. I'm currently subscribed to Messy Box which I'm liking so far but will probably cancel after 12 months as I'm a very slow scrapper and kits are piling up.

I did the month to month sub for the card kit last month and have asked to cancel. The stamp set is just not one I would use much. I also didn't like the papers...just not my style. I think they were just too bright for me. I also thought the class was a little weird but maybe there is more of a market for that type of thing than I realize. I also was thinking about it and I really like how Hip Kit has a lot of CT that do process videos. Do many SC CT members do process videos? I haven't noticed many but maybe I just haven't come across them. So does Scraptastic. I sub to Citrus Twist and love it, but I also like to see products being used and a lot of my fave YouTubers sub to Hip Kit and Scraptastic, so I'm considering one of those when my 3 months at CT is done. I wish the design team at Citrus Twist did process videos.

vsimone I'd be interested to know the name of the Aussie companies, so I can check them out? The Scrappery is one I know of...I sub to Inkie Quill's (Adele) YouTube channel and she's on their design team. I think she's near Melbourne, so I'm assuming it's an AU based company.

Hi! I´m from Norway and I have been a SC subscriber since 2008, and now I really think I´m done. I´m looking at both Citrus Twist and Hip Kit Club but I can´t decide, I also love the look of the Freckled Fawn kits but I´m debating wether or not it´s worth the money. Is anyone here a member of Big Picture classes? I´m really tempted, because there are a lot of classes and the price is great (it seems...) I have subbed to the Freckled Fawn kit since the beginning and I am still loving it every single month. There's only been a couple of items over the almost two years that I didn't care for but that's it.

I forgot to tell you all about Felicity Jane! I think she's been doing kits for almost a year. She does month to month subs. You get a $5 price break if you subscribe. If you don't subscribe you can try to buy one. She usually has a few left to sell. I have received three kits and they are beautiful kits. And her stamps are 4x6 and are freaking amazing! They come packaged in an Avery Elle pocket, too. And her packaging is downright spectacular. I swear it's like opening a present each month! FWIW, I do not know her but I have been following her on instagram for a few months. She works full-time for Silhouette and started this kit club almost a year ago. I love supporting her but, most importantly, I LOVE her kits! She's located in Utah and I'm in California so I get my kit in a couple of days. It's so nice not to wait! Here's a link to check her out: Felicity Jane

Felicity Jane is cute! Kraftinkate on YouTube is on their design team and has lots of videos showing the kits and process videos where she uses them. They do use a lot of exclusive products though and I don't like that. I prefer a mix of manufacturers in a kit rather than a kit that has all been designed by one person.

vsimone I'd be interested to know the name of the Aussie companies, so I can check them out? Scrappy Canary is one but has just announced they are taking a break. A Piece of Cake Designs do kits. I also buy supplies from Blue Bazaar although they are more geared to art journaling.

There are so many kit clubs that I haven't heard of. Felicity Jane is really cute. I subbed to Scrapbook Circle for a few months last year and I really liked their kits. I had to quit because at the time, my scrappy budget had to be tightened.
I have been trying to watch the preview video at SC but it keeps skipping every few seconds. I pause it for a few minutes so it can load but that's not working either. I hate how hard it has become to shop there now. I want to hang in there until December but having to search to find the things I want to buy is ticking me off!

I finally cancelled SC and feel a great sense of relief! They tried to apply a penalty to my account, but I said I would dispute it with my credit card company, and gave several examples of where I was told conflicting info, often in the same conversation. The next challenge will to NOT be sucked in by some promo code or special deal they are offering. I do love the kits but hate the conflicting info, the product descriptions being wrong, and the sneaky way they communicated the shipping changes. Glad to be DONE! I've spent almost $3000 at SC since 2012.

You can do it leahbear1 ...there are so many other places to spend your money without the hassle. DinCA does Felicity Jane do a PL kit or just SB? I wasn't seeing one when I looked at everything a few week ago but I wasn't looking super hard, either. The kits are.cute and I like the mix of "exclusives" along with other manufacturers.
